Substantial effects of photochemical reaction losses of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)on factor profiles can be investigated by comparing the differences between daytime and nighttime dispersion-normalized VOC data ...Substantial effects of photochemical reaction losses of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)on factor profiles can be investigated by comparing the differences between daytime and nighttime dispersion-normalized VOC data resolved profiles.Hourly speciated VOC data measured in Shijiazhuang,China from May to September 2021 were used to conduct study.The mean VOC concentration in the daytime and at nighttime were 32.8 and 36.0 ppbv,respectively.Alkanes and aromatics concentrations in the daytime(12.9 and 3.08 ppbv)were lower than nighttime(15.5 and 3.63 ppbv),whereas that of alkenes showed the opposite tendency.The concentration differences between daytime and nighttime for alkynes and halogenated hydrocarbonswere uniformly small.The reactivities of the dominant species in factor profiles for gasoline emissions,natural gas and diesel vehicles,and liquefied petroleum gas were relatively low and their profiles were less affected by photochemical losses.Photochemical losses produced a substantial impact on the profiles of solvent use,petrochemical industry emissions,combustion sources,and biogenic emissions where the dominant species in these factor profiles had high reactivities.Although the profile of biogenic emissions was substantially affected by photochemical loss of isoprene,the low emissions at nighttime also had an important impact on its profile.Chemical losses of highly active VOC species substantially reduced their concentrations in apportioned factor profiles.This study results were consistent with the analytical results obtained through initial concentration estimation,suggesting that the initial concentration estimation could be the most effective currently availablemethod for the source analyses of active VOCs although with uncertainty.展开更多

Wo...To evaluate the potential benefits of biomass use for air pollution control, this paper identified and quantified the emissions of major reactive organic compounds anticipated from biomass-fired industrial boilers. Wood pellets(WP) and straw pellets(SP) were burned to determine the volatile organic compound emission profiles for each biomass-boiler combination. More than 100 types of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) were measured from the two biomass boilers. The measured VOC species included alkanes, alkenes and acetylenes, aromatics, halocarbons and carbonyls. A single coal-fired boiler(CB) was also studied to provide a basis for comparison. Biomass boiler 1(BB1) emitted relatively high proportions of alkanes(28.9%–38.1% by mass) and alkenes and acetylenes(23.4%–40.8%),while biomass boiler 2(BB2) emitted relatively high proportions of aromatics(27.9%–29.2%)and oxygenated VOCs(33.0%–44.8%). The total VOC(TVOC) emission factors from BB1(128.59–146.16 mg/kg) were higher than those from BB2(41.26–85.29 mg/kg). The total ozone formation potential(OFP) ranged from 6.26 to 81.75 mg/m^3 with an average of 33.66 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers. The total secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP) ranged from 61.56 to 211.67 mg/m^3 with an average of 142.27 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers.The emission factors(EFs) of TVOCs from biomass boilers in this study were similar to those for industrial coal-fired boilers with the same thermal power. These data can supplement existing VOC emission factors for biomass combustion and thus enrich the VOC emission inventory.展开更多

After modeling, rabbit models were given one injection of 50 ng recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor into the vitreous body and/or intragastric injection of 4 g/kg compound light granules containing Radix Angelicae Sinensis and Raidix Paeoniae Alba at 4 days after modeling, once per day for 30 consecutive days. After administration, the animals were sacrificed and the intraorbital optic nerve was harvested. Hematoxylin-eosin staining revealed that the injured optic nerve was thinner and optic nerve fibers were irregular. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was disordered but they were not markedly thinner. After treatment with compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and their structure was intact. After combined treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and the degree of injury was less than after either treatment alone. Results of tensile mechanical testing of the optic nerve showed that the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly lower than the normal optic nerve. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and/or compound light granules, the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly increased, especially after the combined treatment. These experimental findings indicate that compound light granules and ciliary neurotrophic factor can alleviate optic nerve injury at the histological and biochemical levels, and the combined treatment is more effective than either treatment alone.展开更多

METHODS: The components of CGZBT were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Then, we assessed the effects of varying doses of CGZBT on an established chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) model in rats. Whether animals were depressed was evaluated by sucrose preference test, open field test and forced swimming test. Neurotransmitters of hippocampus were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expressions of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88), phospho-nuclear factorkappa B(p-NF-κB), cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2), ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1(IBA-1) were assessed by immunohistochemical staining and western blotting. RESULTS: Eight compounds were identified from CGZBT, moreover, our results showed that CGZBT effectively reversed the CUMS-induced decrease in sucrose preference, shortened the movement distance and prolonged immobility time. CGZBT significantly increased levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid levels, and reduced the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, yet increased IL-4 and IL-10. Furthermore, the expressions of TLR4, My D88, COX-2, p-NF-κB and IBA-1 in hippocampus were effectively reversed after treatment with CGZBT. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that CGZBT could, at least in part, alleviate depression induced by CUMS via the TLR4/My D88/NF-κB pathway, suggesting its potential as an antidepressant drug.展开更多

METHODS: The State Intellectual Property Office Patents Database, China Patent Information Center Patents Database, Soopat Patent Search Platform, and CNIPR Search Platform of Chinese and Foreign Patent Database were searched to identify Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescription patents for mammary gland hyperplasia that had been maintained for at least 5 years. Logistic regression analysis was used to detect the factors influencing the maintenance of valid patents. RESULTS: From 1 January 1993 to 31 December 2019, a total of 1228, Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescription patents for mammary gland hyperplasia were authorized. Of these applications, 381 patents were granted and only 176 patents were maintained for more than 5 years. The five independent variables assessed in this study all had significant explanatory functions. CONCLUSIONS: The maintenance of valid patents for Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescriptions for treating mammary gland hyperplasia is of great importance. The maintenance of such patents depends on many factors, such as the concentration of effective herbs, number of dependent claims, provision of new dosage forms and detailed experimental data, and transfer of patent rights.展开更多

Transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs) are one of the most important cis-regulatory elements. While multiple tools have been developed to assess functional effects of genetic variants at TFBSs, they usually assume that each variant works in isolation and neglect the potential "interference" among multiple variants within the same TFBS. In this study, we presented COPE-TFBS (Context-Oriented Predictor for variant Effect on Transcription Factor Binding Site), a novel method that considers sequence context to accurately predict variant effects on TFBSs. We systematically re-analyzed the sequencing data from both the 1000 Genomes Project and the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Project via COPE-TFBS, and identified numbers of novel TFBSs, transformed TFBSs and discordantly annotated TFBSs resulting from multiple variants, further highlighting the necessity of sequence context in accurately annotating genetic variants.展开更多
OBJECTIVE Compound Kushen injection(CKI)is a bis-herbal formulation extracted from Kushen(Radix Sophorae Flavescentis)and Baituling(Rhizoma Heterosmilacis Japonicae).Clinically,it is used as the adjuvant treatment of ...OBJECTIVE Compound Kushen injection(CKI)is a bis-herbal formulation extracted from Kushen(Radix Sophorae Flavescentis)and Baituling(Rhizoma Heterosmilacis Japonicae).Clinically,it is used as the adjuvant treatment of cancer.However,with the increased application,the cases of immediate hypersensitivity reactions(IHRs)also gradually rise.In this study,we investigated the underlying mechanism(s)and active constituent(s)for CKI-induced IHRs in experimental models.METHODS T helper 2(Th2)immunity-amplified mice were prepared by aluminum adjuvant.Anaphylactic shock was detected by measuring rectal thermometry in propranolol pretreated mice.For evaluating microvascular permeability,Evans blue extravasation assay was used.Platelet-activating factor(PAF),serum total IgE(tIgE)and mouse mast cell protease 1(MMCP1)were measured by ELISA.RESULTS The obtained results showed that CKI did not elevate serum tIgE and MMCP1 after consecutive immunization for five weeks,but could induce Evans blue extravasation(local)and cause obvious hypothermia(systemic)after a single injection.Further study showed that alkaloids in Kushen,especially matrine,were responsible for CKI-induced IHRs.Mechanism study showed that various PAF receptor antagonists could significantly counter CKI-induced IHRs locally or systemically.In cell system,CKI was able to promote PAF production in a non-cell-selective manner.In cell lysate,the effect of CKI on PAF production became stronger and could be abolished by blocking de novo pathway.CONCLUSION In conclusion,our study identifies,for the first time,that CKI is a PAF inducer.It causes non-immunologic IHRs,rather than IgE-dependent IHRs,by promoting PAF production through de novo pathway.Alkaloids in Kushen,especially matrine,are the prime culprits for IHRs.Our findings may provide a potential approach for preventing and treating CKI-induced IHRs.展开更多

Methods: Seventy patients with eclampsia who were treate...Objective: To explore the effect of Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol on liver function and placental growth factor in patients with eclampsia. Methods: Seventy patients with eclampsia who were treated in the Hospital from February 2017 to February 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups according to the random number table, with 35 cases in each group. The Observation group was treated with Labetalol, and the combined therapy group was treated with Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol. The liver function [alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, total protein, and albumin], hemorheology indicators, placental growth factor and serum insulin-like growth factor-1 and clinical indicators in the two groups were analyzed. Results: After treatment, the levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase in the combined therapy group were significantly lower than those in the Observation group. The levels of total protein and albumin in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than those in the Observation group (P<0.05). After treatment, the high-cut and low-cut whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and erythrocyte rigidity index in the combined therapy group were significantly lower than the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of PLGF and IGF-1 in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than those in the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the gestational age, neonatal weight index, placental weight and neonatal 1 min Apgar score in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: For patients with eclampsia, Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol is with great safety, which can help stabilize their condition, and improve their liver function and placental growth factor status.展开更多

Initial success has been achieved in Hong Kong in controlling primary air pollutants,but ambient ozone levels kept increasing during the past three decades.Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are important for mitigating ...Initial success has been achieved in Hong Kong in controlling primary air pollutants,but ambient ozone levels kept increasing during the past three decades.Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are important for mitigating ozone pollution as its major precursors.This study analyzed VOC characteristics of roadside,suburban,and rural sites in Hong Kong to investigate their compositions,concentrations,and source contributions.Herewe showthat the TVOC concentrations were 23.05±13.24,12.68±15.36,and 5.16±5.48 ppbv for roadside,suburban,and rural sites between May 2015 to June 2019,respectively.By using Positive Matrix Factorization(PMF)model,six sources were identified at the roadside site over five years:Liquefied petroleum gas(LPG)usage(33%–46%),gasoline evaporation(8%–31%),aged air mass(11%–28%),gasoline exhaust(5%–16%),diesel exhaust(2%–16%)and fuel filling(75–9%).Similarly,six sources were distinguished at the suburban site,including LPG usage(30%–33%),solvent usage(20%–26%),diesel exhaust(14%–26%),gasoline evaporation(8%–16%),aged air mass(4%–11%),and biogenic emissions(2%–5%).At the rural site,four sources were identified,including aged airmass(33%–51%),solvent usage(25%–30%),vehicular emissions(11%–28%),and biogenic emissions(6%–12%).The analysis further revealed that fuel filling and LPG usage were the primary contributors to OFP and OH reactivity at the roadside site,while solvent usage and biogenic emissions accounted for almost half of OFP and OH reactivity at the suburban and rural sites,respectively.These findings highlight the importance of identifying and characterizing VOC sources at different sites to help policymakers develop targeted measures for pollution mitigation in specific areas.展开更多
Emission characteristics of biogenic volatile organic compounds(BVOCs)from dominant tree species in the subtropical pristine forests of China are extremely limited.Here we conducted in situ field measurements of BVOCs...Emission characteristics of biogenic volatile organic compounds(BVOCs)from dominant tree species in the subtropical pristine forests of China are extremely limited.Here we conducted in situ field measurements of BVOCs emissions from representative mature evergreen trees by using dynamic branch enclosures at four altitude gradients(600-1690ma.s.l.)in the Nanling Mountains of southern China.Composition characteristics as well as seasonal and altitudinal variations were analyzed.Standardized emission rates and canopyscale emission factors were then calculated.Results showed that BVOCs emission intensities in the wet season were generally higher than those in the dry season.Monoterpenes were the dominant BVOCs emitted from most broad-leaved trees,accounting for over 70%of the total.Schima superba,Yushania basihirsuta and Altingia chinensis had relatively high emission intensities and secondary pollutant formation potentials.The localized emission factors of isoprene were comparable to the defaults in the Model of Emissions of Gases and Aerosols fromNature(MEGAN),while emission factors of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes were 2 to 58 times of those in the model.Our results can be used to update the current BVOCs emission inventory in MEGAN,thereby reducing the uncertainties of BVOCs emission estimations in forested regions of southern China.展开更多

Patients in both of the two groups were received routine liver protecting drug treatment. For observation group, Compound Glycyrrhizin injection was given on the basis of routine treatment. Variations of liver function indexes, liver fibrosis indexes and inflammatory factors between the two groups before and after treatment were compared and observed.Results:No obvious difference showed on AST, ALT, ALB TBIL levels between two groups of patients before treatment;After treatment, AST, ALT, TBIL in two groups of patients were significantly decreased, ALB were significantly increased. Significant difference showed comparing with prior treatment;After treatment, AST, ALT and TBIL levels in observation group were (29.53±9.44) U/L, (32.36±10.93) U/L and (10.12±3.22) μmol/L, which were significantly lower than in control group. ALB levels in observation group were (43.57±12.42) g/L, which were significantly higher than ALB levels in control group. Before treatment, no statistical difference showed on HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII levels between two groups of patients. After treatment, HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII in two groups of patients were significantly decreased, which showed significant difference comparing with prior treatment;After treatment, HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII levels in observation group were (97.33±31.75) μg/L, (77.52±23.72) μg/L, (82.92±24.55) μg/L, (15.33±5.11) μg/L, which were significantly lower than in control group. Before treatment, no significant difference showed on IL-2, IL-6 and TNF- levels between two groups of patients;After treatment, IL-2 levels in two groups of patients were significantly increased, IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly decreased, the differences showed significance;After treatment, IL-2 levels in observation group were (131.48±30.63) U/mL, which were higher than IL-2 levels in control group. IL-6 and TNF-αlevels in observation group were (45.23±16.45) μg/L, (41.75±17.53) ng/L, which were lower than IL-6 and TNF-α levels in control group, differences showed significance.Conclusion:Compound Glycyrrhizin could effectively release liver fibrosis and inflammatory reactions for patients with chronic hepatitis B, and could further improve liver functions.展开更多
Objective:To explore the effects of compound danshen dripping pills on the levels of serum inflammatory factors,brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)and blood lipid in CABG postoperative patients.Methods:156 cases of patient...Objective:To explore the effects of compound danshen dripping pills on the levels of serum inflammatory factors,brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)and blood lipid in CABG postoperative patients.Methods:156 cases of patients who were given CABG from January 2015 to January 2018 in Baogang Hospital were chosen and randomly divided into the observation group(n=78)and the control group(n=78).Both groups were given conventional drugs,simultaneously,the observation group was given compound danshen dripping pills.The treatment lasted 3 months.The clinical efficacy was compared between two groups of patients,and the levels of serum inflammatory factors,plasma BNP and blood lipid before and after treatment in two groups of patients were detected in order to make a comparison in the incidence of adverse cardiac events between two groups of patients.Results:After treatment,the total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group;in the two groups,the levels of serum interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),C-reactive protein and plasma BNP after treatment were obviously lower than those before treatment,and these indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(p<.05);the levels of TG,TC and LDL-C in two groups were obviously lower(p<.05)with the level of HDL-C significantly higher(all p<.05),and the descending or ascending range of each indicator in the observation group was obviously larger than that in the control group(p<.05);in the follow-up visit,the incidence of adverse cardiac events in the observation group of patients was significantly lower than that in the control group of patients(p<.05).Conclusions:Compound danshen dripping pills can effectively reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors and BNP,regulate blood lipid metabolism and reduce the incidence of adverse cardiac events in CABG postoperative patients.展开更多
Tianjin is the third largest megacity and the fastest growth area in China,and consequently faces the problems of surface ozone and haze episodes.This study measures and characterizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs...Tianjin is the third largest megacity and the fastest growth area in China,and consequently faces the problems of surface ozone and haze episodes.This study measures and characterizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs),which are ozone precursors,to identify their possible sources and evaluate their contribution to ozone formation in urban and suburban Tianjin,China during the HaChi (Haze in China) summer campaign in 2009.A total of 107 species of ambient VOCs were detected,and the average concentrations of VOCs at urban and suburban sites were 92 and 174 ppbv,respectively.Of those,51 species of VOCs were extracted to analyze the possible VOC sources using positive matrix factorization.The identified sources of VOCs were significantly related to vehicular activities,which specifically contributed 60% to urban and 42% to suburban VOCs loadings in Tianjin.Industrial emission was the second most prominent source of ambient VOCs in both urban and suburban areas,although the contribution of industry in the suburban area (36%) was much higher than that at the urban area (16%).We conclude that controlling vehicle emissions should be a top priority for VOC reduction,and that fast industrialization and urbanization causes air pollution to be more complex due to the combined emission of VOCs from industry and daily life,especially in suburban areas.展开更多

On the basis of the characteristics of substituent and conjugated matrix, a novel molecular structure parameter (G) is defined and calculated for 165 molecules in this paper. En and G show good structural selectivity for organic molecules. G, a satisfactory relationship between bioconcentration factor (BCF) and En, is expressed as: 1gBCF = -0.283 + 1.246G + 0.079E42 + 0.351E9- 0.063E17 (n' = 122, R = 0.967, F = 425.636, s = 0.394), which could provide estimation and prediction for the lgBCF of nonionic organic chemicals. Furthermore, the model is examined to validate overall robustness with Jackknife tests, and the independent variables in model do not exist cross correlation with VIF. All these regression results show that the new parameter G and electrotopological state index have good rationality and efficiency. It is concluded that the En and G will be used widely in quantitative structure-property/activity relationship (QSPR/QSAR) research.展开更多
Intermediate volatility organic compounds(IVOCs)are crucial precursors of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).In this study,gaseous IVOCs emitted from a ship main engine burning heavy fuel oil(HFO)were investigated on a te...Intermediate volatility organic compounds(IVOCs)are crucial precursors of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).In this study,gaseous IVOCs emitted from a ship main engine burning heavy fuel oil(HFO)were investigated on a test bench,which could simulate the real-world operations and emissions of ocean-going ships.The chemical compositions,emission factors(EFs)and volatility distributions of IVOC emissions were investigated.The results showed that the main engine burning HFO emitted a large amount of IVOCs,with average IVOC EFs of 20.2-201 mg/kg-fuel.The IVOCs were mainly comprised of unspeciated compounds.The chemical compositions of exhaust IVOCs were different from that of HFO fuel,especially for polycyclic aromatic compounds and alkylcyclohexanes.The volatility distributions of IVOCs were also different between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel.The distinctions in IVOC emission characteristics between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel should be considered when assessing the IVOC emission and related SOA formation potentials from ocean-going ships burning HFO,especially when using fuel-surrogate models.展开更多
Objective To study the oncogenic potential of mouse translation initiation factor 3 (TIF3) and elongation factor-1δ (TEF-1δ) in malignant transformed human bronchial epithelial cells induced by crystalline nicke...Objective To study the oncogenic potential of mouse translation initiation factor 3 (TIF3) and elongation factor-1δ (TEF-1δ) in malignant transformed human bronchial epithelial cells induced by crystalline nickel sulfide (NiS). Methods Abnormal expressions of human TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes in two kinds of NiS-transformed cells and NiS-tumorigenic cell lines were investigated and analyzed by the reverse transcript polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR), respectively. Results RT-PCR analysis primarily showed that both human TIF3 and TEF-1δ mRNA expressions in two kinds of NiS-transformed cells and NiS-tumorigenic cell lines were increased as compared with controls. FQ-PCR assay showed that the levels of TIF3 expressions in the transformed cells and tumorigenic cells were 3 and 4 times higher respectively, and the elevated expressions of TEF-16 eDNA copies were 2.7- to 3.5-fold in transformed cells and 4.1- to 5.2-fold in tumorigenic cells when compared with non-transformed cells, indicating that the over-expressions of human TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes were related to malignant degree of the cells induced by nickel. Conclusions These findings demonstrate that there are markedly abnormal expressions of TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes during malignant transformation of human bronchial epithelial cell lines induced by crystalline NiS. They seem to be the molecular mechanisms potentially responsible for human carcinogensis due to nickel.展开更多

文摘Substantial effects of photochemical reaction losses of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)on factor profiles can be investigated by comparing the differences between daytime and nighttime dispersion-normalized VOC data resolved profiles.Hourly speciated VOC data measured in Shijiazhuang,China from May to September 2021 were used to conduct study.The mean VOC concentration in the daytime and at nighttime were 32.8 and 36.0 ppbv,respectively.Alkanes and aromatics concentrations in the daytime(12.9 and 3.08 ppbv)were lower than nighttime(15.5 and 3.63 ppbv),whereas that of alkenes showed the opposite tendency.The concentration differences between daytime and nighttime for alkynes and halogenated hydrocarbonswere uniformly small.The reactivities of the dominant species in factor profiles for gasoline emissions,natural gas and diesel vehicles,and liquefied petroleum gas were relatively low and their profiles were less affected by photochemical losses.Photochemical losses produced a substantial impact on the profiles of solvent use,petrochemical industry emissions,combustion sources,and biogenic emissions where the dominant species in these factor profiles had high reactivities.Although the profile of biogenic emissions was substantially affected by photochemical loss of isoprene,the low emissions at nighttime also had an important impact on its profile.Chemical losses of highly active VOC species substantially reduced their concentrations in apportioned factor profiles.This study results were consistent with the analytical results obtained through initial concentration estimation,suggesting that the initial concentration estimation could be the most effective currently availablemethod for the source analyses of active VOCs although with uncertainty.

文摘To evaluate the potential benefits of biomass use for air pollution control, this paper identified and quantified the emissions of major reactive organic compounds anticipated from biomass-fired industrial boilers. Wood pellets(WP) and straw pellets(SP) were burned to determine the volatile organic compound emission profiles for each biomass-boiler combination. More than 100 types of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) were measured from the two biomass boilers. The measured VOC species included alkanes, alkenes and acetylenes, aromatics, halocarbons and carbonyls. A single coal-fired boiler(CB) was also studied to provide a basis for comparison. Biomass boiler 1(BB1) emitted relatively high proportions of alkanes(28.9%–38.1% by mass) and alkenes and acetylenes(23.4%–40.8%),while biomass boiler 2(BB2) emitted relatively high proportions of aromatics(27.9%–29.2%)and oxygenated VOCs(33.0%–44.8%). The total VOC(TVOC) emission factors from BB1(128.59–146.16 mg/kg) were higher than those from BB2(41.26–85.29 mg/kg). The total ozone formation potential(OFP) ranged from 6.26 to 81.75 mg/m^3 with an average of 33.66 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers. The total secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP) ranged from 61.56 to 211.67 mg/m^3 with an average of 142.27 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers.The emission factors(EFs) of TVOCs from biomass boilers in this study were similar to those for industrial coal-fired boilers with the same thermal power. These data can supplement existing VOC emission factors for biomass combustion and thus enrich the VOC emission inventory.
文摘In this study, rabbit models of optic nerve injury were reproduced by the clamp method. After modeling, rabbit models were given one injection of 50 ng recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor into the vitreous body and/or intragastric injection of 4 g/kg compound light granules containing Radix Angelicae Sinensis and Raidix Paeoniae Alba at 4 days after modeling, once per day for 30 consecutive days. After administration, the animals were sacrificed and the intraorbital optic nerve was harvested. Hematoxylin-eosin staining revealed that the injured optic nerve was thinner and optic nerve fibers were irregular. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was disordered but they were not markedly thinner. After treatment with compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and their structure was intact. After combined treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and compound light granules, the arrangement of optic nerve fibers was slightly disordered and the degree of injury was less than after either treatment alone. Results of tensile mechanical testing of the optic nerve showed that the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly lower than the normal optic nerve. After treatment with recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor and/or compound light granules, the tensile elastic limit strain, elastic limit stress, maximum stress and maximum strain of the injured optic nerve were significantly increased, especially after the combined treatment. These experimental findings indicate that compound light granules and ciliary neurotrophic factor can alleviate optic nerve injury at the histological and biochemical levels, and the combined treatment is more effective than either treatment alone.

文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of compound Gaoziban tablet(复方高滋斑片, CGZBT) on depression, and to investigate the underlying mechanism. METHODS: The components of CGZBT were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Then, we assessed the effects of varying doses of CGZBT on an established chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) model in rats. Whether animals were depressed was evaluated by sucrose preference test, open field test and forced swimming test. Neurotransmitters of hippocampus were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expressions of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88), phospho-nuclear factorkappa B(p-NF-κB), cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2), ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1(IBA-1) were assessed by immunohistochemical staining and western blotting. RESULTS: Eight compounds were identified from CGZBT, moreover, our results showed that CGZBT effectively reversed the CUMS-induced decrease in sucrose preference, shortened the movement distance and prolonged immobility time. CGZBT significantly increased levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid levels, and reduced the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, yet increased IL-4 and IL-10. Furthermore, the expressions of TLR4, My D88, COX-2, p-NF-κB and IBA-1 in hippocampus were effectively reversed after treatment with CGZBT. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that CGZBT could, at least in part, alleviate depression induced by CUMS via the TLR4/My D88/NF-κB pathway, suggesting its potential as an antidepressant drug.

文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the value and factors influencing the maintenance of valid Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescription patents for the management of mammary gland hyperplasia. METHODS: The State Intellectual Property Office Patents Database, China Patent Information Center Patents Database, Soopat Patent Search Platform, and CNIPR Search Platform of Chinese and Foreign Patent Database were searched to identify Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescription patents for mammary gland hyperplasia that had been maintained for at least 5 years. Logistic regression analysis was used to detect the factors influencing the maintenance of valid patents. RESULTS: From 1 January 1993 to 31 December 2019, a total of 1228, Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescription patents for mammary gland hyperplasia were authorized. Of these applications, 381 patents were granted and only 176 patents were maintained for more than 5 years. The five independent variables assessed in this study all had significant explanatory functions. CONCLUSIONS: The maintenance of valid patents for Traditional Chinese Medicine compound prescriptions for treating mammary gland hyperplasia is of great importance. The maintenance of such patents depends on many factors, such as the concentration of effective herbs, number of dependent claims, provision of new dosage forms and detailed experimental data, and transfer of patent rights.

文摘Understanding the functional effects of genetic variants is crucial in modern genomics and genetics. Transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs) are one of the most important cis-regulatory elements. While multiple tools have been developed to assess functional effects of genetic variants at TFBSs, they usually assume that each variant works in isolation and neglect the potential "interference" among multiple variants within the same TFBS. In this study, we presented COPE-TFBS (Context-Oriented Predictor for variant Effect on Transcription Factor Binding Site), a novel method that considers sequence context to accurately predict variant effects on TFBSs. We systematically re-analyzed the sequencing data from both the 1000 Genomes Project and the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Project via COPE-TFBS, and identified numbers of novel TFBSs, transformed TFBSs and discordantly annotated TFBSs resulting from multiple variants, further highlighting the necessity of sequence context in accurately annotating genetic variants.
文摘OBJECTIVE Compound Kushen injection(CKI)is a bis-herbal formulation extracted from Kushen(Radix Sophorae Flavescentis)and Baituling(Rhizoma Heterosmilacis Japonicae).Clinically,it is used as the adjuvant treatment of cancer.However,with the increased application,the cases of immediate hypersensitivity reactions(IHRs)also gradually rise.In this study,we investigated the underlying mechanism(s)and active constituent(s)for CKI-induced IHRs in experimental models.METHODS T helper 2(Th2)immunity-amplified mice were prepared by aluminum adjuvant.Anaphylactic shock was detected by measuring rectal thermometry in propranolol pretreated mice.For evaluating microvascular permeability,Evans blue extravasation assay was used.Platelet-activating factor(PAF),serum total IgE(tIgE)and mouse mast cell protease 1(MMCP1)were measured by ELISA.RESULTS The obtained results showed that CKI did not elevate serum tIgE and MMCP1 after consecutive immunization for five weeks,but could induce Evans blue extravasation(local)and cause obvious hypothermia(systemic)after a single injection.Further study showed that alkaloids in Kushen,especially matrine,were responsible for CKI-induced IHRs.Mechanism study showed that various PAF receptor antagonists could significantly counter CKI-induced IHRs locally or systemically.In cell system,CKI was able to promote PAF production in a non-cell-selective manner.In cell lysate,the effect of CKI on PAF production became stronger and could be abolished by blocking de novo pathway.CONCLUSION In conclusion,our study identifies,for the first time,that CKI is a PAF inducer.It causes non-immunologic IHRs,rather than IgE-dependent IHRs,by promoting PAF production through de novo pathway.Alkaloids in Kushen,especially matrine,are the prime culprits for IHRs.Our findings may provide a potential approach for preventing and treating CKI-induced IHRs.

Based on this correlation, they are named characteristic organic compounds. The compounds found are sequalene (SQU), cedrol (CED), 2, 5-cyclohexadiene-1, 4-dione, 2, 6-bis(1, 1-dimthylethyl ) (PBQ), phenol, 2, 6-bis (1, 1-dimethylethy-4-methyl) (BHT), 3-t-butyl-4- hydroxyanisole ( BHA ), 1, 2-benzenedicarboxylie acid, bis-( 2-methyl propyl ) ester (DIBP), dibutyl phthalate (DNBP), respectively. Monitoring the variations of concentration of these characteristic organic compounds in seawater may provide scientific basis for studying and forecasting red tides.

文摘Objective: To explore the effect of Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol on liver function and placental growth factor in patients with eclampsia. Methods: Seventy patients with eclampsia who were treated in the Hospital from February 2017 to February 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups according to the random number table, with 35 cases in each group. The Observation group was treated with Labetalol, and the combined therapy group was treated with Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol. The liver function [alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, total protein, and albumin], hemorheology indicators, placental growth factor and serum insulin-like growth factor-1 and clinical indicators in the two groups were analyzed. Results: After treatment, the levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase in the combined therapy group were significantly lower than those in the Observation group. The levels of total protein and albumin in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than those in the Observation group (P<0.05). After treatment, the high-cut and low-cut whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and erythrocyte rigidity index in the combined therapy group were significantly lower than the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of PLGF and IGF-1 in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than those in the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the gestational age, neonatal weight index, placental weight and neonatal 1 min Apgar score in the combined therapy group were significantly higher than the Observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: For patients with eclampsia, Compound Danshen Injection combined with Labetalol is with great safety, which can help stabilize their condition, and improve their liver function and placental growth factor status.

文摘Initial success has been achieved in Hong Kong in controlling primary air pollutants,but ambient ozone levels kept increasing during the past three decades.Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are important for mitigating ozone pollution as its major precursors.This study analyzed VOC characteristics of roadside,suburban,and rural sites in Hong Kong to investigate their compositions,concentrations,and source contributions.Herewe showthat the TVOC concentrations were 23.05±13.24,12.68±15.36,and 5.16±5.48 ppbv for roadside,suburban,and rural sites between May 2015 to June 2019,respectively.By using Positive Matrix Factorization(PMF)model,six sources were identified at the roadside site over five years:Liquefied petroleum gas(LPG)usage(33%–46%),gasoline evaporation(8%–31%),aged air mass(11%–28%),gasoline exhaust(5%–16%),diesel exhaust(2%–16%)and fuel filling(75–9%).Similarly,six sources were distinguished at the suburban site,including LPG usage(30%–33%),solvent usage(20%–26%),diesel exhaust(14%–26%),gasoline evaporation(8%–16%),aged air mass(4%–11%),and biogenic emissions(2%–5%).At the rural site,four sources were identified,including aged airmass(33%–51%),solvent usage(25%–30%),vehicular emissions(11%–28%),and biogenic emissions(6%–12%).The analysis further revealed that fuel filling and LPG usage were the primary contributors to OFP and OH reactivity at the roadside site,while solvent usage and biogenic emissions accounted for almost half of OFP and OH reactivity at the suburban and rural sites,respectively.These findings highlight the importance of identifying and characterizing VOC sources at different sites to help policymakers develop targeted measures for pollution mitigation in specific areas.

文摘Emission characteristics of biogenic volatile organic compounds(BVOCs)from dominant tree species in the subtropical pristine forests of China are extremely limited.Here we conducted in situ field measurements of BVOCs emissions from representative mature evergreen trees by using dynamic branch enclosures at four altitude gradients(600-1690ma.s.l.)in the Nanling Mountains of southern China.Composition characteristics as well as seasonal and altitudinal variations were analyzed.Standardized emission rates and canopyscale emission factors were then calculated.Results showed that BVOCs emission intensities in the wet season were generally higher than those in the dry season.Monoterpenes were the dominant BVOCs emitted from most broad-leaved trees,accounting for over 70%of the total.Schima superba,Yushania basihirsuta and Altingia chinensis had relatively high emission intensities and secondary pollutant formation potentials.The localized emission factors of isoprene were comparable to the defaults in the Model of Emissions of Gases and Aerosols fromNature(MEGAN),while emission factors of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes were 2 to 58 times of those in the model.Our results can be used to update the current BVOCs emission inventory in MEGAN,thereby reducing the uncertainties of BVOCs emission estimations in forested regions of southern China.
文摘Objective:To investigate influence of Compound Glycyrrhizin on liver functions, liver fibrosis indexes and inflammatory factors of patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients with chronic hepatitis B treated in our hospital from Jan2015 to Jun2016 were selected as subjects, and randomly divided to be 48 cases of observation group and 48 cases of control group. Patients in both of the two groups were received routine liver protecting drug treatment. For observation group, Compound Glycyrrhizin injection was given on the basis of routine treatment. Variations of liver function indexes, liver fibrosis indexes and inflammatory factors between the two groups before and after treatment were compared and observed.Results:No obvious difference showed on AST, ALT, ALB TBIL levels between two groups of patients before treatment;After treatment, AST, ALT, TBIL in two groups of patients were significantly decreased, ALB were significantly increased. Significant difference showed comparing with prior treatment;After treatment, AST, ALT and TBIL levels in observation group were (29.53±9.44) U/L, (32.36±10.93) U/L and (10.12±3.22) μmol/L, which were significantly lower than in control group. ALB levels in observation group were (43.57±12.42) g/L, which were significantly higher than ALB levels in control group. Before treatment, no statistical difference showed on HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII levels between two groups of patients. After treatment, HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII in two groups of patients were significantly decreased, which showed significant difference comparing with prior treatment;After treatment, HA, LN, IV-C and PCIII levels in observation group were (97.33±31.75) μg/L, (77.52±23.72) μg/L, (82.92±24.55) μg/L, (15.33±5.11) μg/L, which were significantly lower than in control group. Before treatment, no significant difference showed on IL-2, IL-6 and TNF- levels between two groups of patients;After treatment, IL-2 levels in two groups of patients were significantly increased, IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly decreased, the differences showed significance;After treatment, IL-2 levels in observation group were (131.48±30.63) U/mL, which were higher than IL-2 levels in control group. IL-6 and TNF-αlevels in observation group were (45.23±16.45) μg/L, (41.75±17.53) ng/L, which were lower than IL-6 and TNF-α levels in control group, differences showed significance.Conclusion:Compound Glycyrrhizin could effectively release liver fibrosis and inflammatory reactions for patients with chronic hepatitis B, and could further improve liver functions.
文摘Objective:To explore the effects of compound danshen dripping pills on the levels of serum inflammatory factors,brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)and blood lipid in CABG postoperative patients.Methods:156 cases of patients who were given CABG from January 2015 to January 2018 in Baogang Hospital were chosen and randomly divided into the observation group(n=78)and the control group(n=78).Both groups were given conventional drugs,simultaneously,the observation group was given compound danshen dripping pills.The treatment lasted 3 months.The clinical efficacy was compared between two groups of patients,and the levels of serum inflammatory factors,plasma BNP and blood lipid before and after treatment in two groups of patients were detected in order to make a comparison in the incidence of adverse cardiac events between two groups of patients.Results:After treatment,the total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group;in the two groups,the levels of serum interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),C-reactive protein and plasma BNP after treatment were obviously lower than those before treatment,and these indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(p<.05);the levels of TG,TC and LDL-C in two groups were obviously lower(p<.05)with the level of HDL-C significantly higher(all p<.05),and the descending or ascending range of each indicator in the observation group was obviously larger than that in the control group(p<.05);in the follow-up visit,the incidence of adverse cardiac events in the observation group of patients was significantly lower than that in the control group of patients(p<.05).Conclusions:Compound danshen dripping pills can effectively reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors and BNP,regulate blood lipid metabolism and reduce the incidence of adverse cardiac events in CABG postoperative patients.

文摘Tianjin is the third largest megacity and the fastest growth area in China,and consequently faces the problems of surface ozone and haze episodes.This study measures and characterizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs),which are ozone precursors,to identify their possible sources and evaluate their contribution to ozone formation in urban and suburban Tianjin,China during the HaChi (Haze in China) summer campaign in 2009.A total of 107 species of ambient VOCs were detected,and the average concentrations of VOCs at urban and suburban sites were 92 and 174 ppbv,respectively.Of those,51 species of VOCs were extracted to analyze the possible VOC sources using positive matrix factorization.The identified sources of VOCs were significantly related to vehicular activities,which specifically contributed 60% to urban and 42% to suburban VOCs loadings in Tianjin.Industrial emission was the second most prominent source of ambient VOCs in both urban and suburban areas,although the contribution of industry in the suburban area (36%) was much higher than that at the urban area (16%).We conclude that controlling vehicle emissions should be a top priority for VOC reduction,and that fast industrialization and urbanization causes air pollution to be more complex due to the combined emission of VOCs from industry and daily life,especially in suburban areas.

文摘Based on the characteristics of atom types, Hall's electrotopological state indices (En) are calculated for 165 nonionic organic compounds. On the basis of the characteristics of substituent and conjugated matrix, a novel molecular structure parameter (G) is defined and calculated for 165 molecules in this paper. En and G show good structural selectivity for organic molecules. G, a satisfactory relationship between bioconcentration factor (BCF) and En, is expressed as: 1gBCF = -0.283 + 1.246G + 0.079E42 + 0.351E9- 0.063E17 (n' = 122, R = 0.967, F = 425.636, s = 0.394), which could provide estimation and prediction for the lgBCF of nonionic organic chemicals. Furthermore, the model is examined to validate overall robustness with Jackknife tests, and the independent variables in model do not exist cross correlation with VIF. All these regression results show that the new parameter G and electrotopological state index have good rationality and efficiency. It is concluded that the En and G will be used widely in quantitative structure-property/activity relationship (QSPR/QSAR) research.

文摘Intermediate volatility organic compounds(IVOCs)are crucial precursors of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).In this study,gaseous IVOCs emitted from a ship main engine burning heavy fuel oil(HFO)were investigated on a test bench,which could simulate the real-world operations and emissions of ocean-going ships.The chemical compositions,emission factors(EFs)and volatility distributions of IVOC emissions were investigated.The results showed that the main engine burning HFO emitted a large amount of IVOCs,with average IVOC EFs of 20.2-201 mg/kg-fuel.The IVOCs were mainly comprised of unspeciated compounds.The chemical compositions of exhaust IVOCs were different from that of HFO fuel,especially for polycyclic aromatic compounds and alkylcyclohexanes.The volatility distributions of IVOCs were also different between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel.The distinctions in IVOC emission characteristics between HFO exhausts and HFO fuel should be considered when assessing the IVOC emission and related SOA formation potentials from ocean-going ships burning HFO,especially when using fuel-surrogate models.

文摘Objective To study the oncogenic potential of mouse translation initiation factor 3 (TIF3) and elongation factor-1δ (TEF-1δ) in malignant transformed human bronchial epithelial cells induced by crystalline nickel sulfide (NiS). Methods Abnormal expressions of human TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes in two kinds of NiS-transformed cells and NiS-tumorigenic cell lines were investigated and analyzed by the reverse transcript polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR), respectively. Results RT-PCR analysis primarily showed that both human TIF3 and TEF-1δ mRNA expressions in two kinds of NiS-transformed cells and NiS-tumorigenic cell lines were increased as compared with controls. FQ-PCR assay showed that the levels of TIF3 expressions in the transformed cells and tumorigenic cells were 3 and 4 times higher respectively, and the elevated expressions of TEF-16 eDNA copies were 2.7- to 3.5-fold in transformed cells and 4.1- to 5.2-fold in tumorigenic cells when compared with non-transformed cells, indicating that the over-expressions of human TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes were related to malignant degree of the cells induced by nickel. Conclusions These findings demonstrate that there are markedly abnormal expressions of TIF3 and TEF-1δ genes during malignant transformation of human bronchial epithelial cell lines induced by crystalline NiS. They seem to be the molecular mechanisms potentially responsible for human carcinogensis due to nickel.
