Titanium oxide films were prepared by annealing DC magnetron sputtered titanium films in an oxygen ambient. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) sputter profiling, MCs^+-mode secondary ion mass spectrometry (MCs^+-SIMS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were employed, respectively, for the structural, com- positional and morphological characterization of the obtained films. For temperatures below 875 K, titanium films could not be fully oxidized within one hour. Above that temperature, the completely oxidized films were found to be rutile in structure. Detailed studies on the oxidation process at 925K were carried out for the understanding of the underlying mechanism of titanium dioxide (TiO2) formation by thermal oxidation. It was demonstrated that the formation of crystalline TiO2 could be divided into a short oxidation stage, followed by crystal forming stage. Relevance of this recognition was further discussed. 展开更多

Aluminized explosives exhibit excellent performance because the oxidation of aluminum(Al)powders enhances the pressure and temperature of detonation products. However, the equation of state(EOS)of detonation products has not been understood well.In the present study,we conducted long-time tests(approximately 1 ms)of a metal rod driven by detonation products of RDX,RDX/Li F,and RDX/Al.In addition,we used laser velocimetry(PDV)to measure the freesurface velocity of the rod.Thermochemical code DLCHEQ was successfully applied to the hydrodynamic program SSS to perform the roddriven test, and a novel method was established to study the EOS of detonation products from the perspective of composition. The reliability of DLCEHQ was validated by a small deviation(<10%)between the experimental rod free-surface velocity of RDX and the calculated results;the deviation was considerably less than that from the results obtained using the JWL EOS and ideal-gas EOS.The endothermic process and the reaction of Al powders(Al+H_(2)O+NO+CO_(2)→CO+H_(2)+N_(2)+Al_(2)O_(3))were analyzed by calculating the rod free-surface velocity of RDX/Li F and RDX/Al,respectively.The results of the present study demonstrated that the thermodynamic state of Al powders has notable influence on the EOS of aluminized detonation products, and the findings were compared with those of previous studies.First, the temperature equilibrium between Al powders and CHNO products is not always achieved, and the disequilibrium is more obvious when the reaction of Al powders is stronger.Second, the reaction rate of Al powders depends on pressure and Al content. Finally, the endothermic process of Al powders has a high contribution to the decrease in the work ability of RDX/Al instead of the gasconsumption mechanism of the Al reaction.More than half of the reaction heat of Al powders is used to heat itself, whereas the gas consumption during the reaction is negligible. 展开更多

The composition and evolution of interfacial species play a key role during electrocatalytic process.Unveiling the structural evolution and intermediate during catalytic process by in situ characterization can shed new light on the electrocatalytic reaction mechanism and develop highly efficient catalyst. However, directly probing the interfacial species is extremely difficult for most spectroscopic techniques due to complicated interfacial environment and ultra-low surface concentration.Herein, electrochemical core-shell nanoparticle enhanced Raman spectroscopy is utilized to probe the composition and evolution processes of interfacial species on Au@Pt,Au@Co,and Au@PtCo core-shell nanoparticle surfaces. The spectral evidences of interfacial intermediates including hydroxide radical(OH*),superoxide ion(O_(2)^(−)),as well as metal oxide species are directly captured by in situ Raman spectroscopy, which are further confirmed by the both isotopic experiment and density functional theory calculation. These results provide a mechanistic guideline for the rational design of highly efficient electrocatalysts. 展开更多

Graphite-phase polymeric carbon nitride (CN) was reported to be a promising material in photoelectrochemical solar energy conversion. However, its high recombination rate of photogenerated carriers limits its potential applications. In this article, a heterojunction of CN and sulfur-doped CN (CNS) was constructed through a solution-based processing way. Interestingly, it was observed that the photocatalytic hydrogen production of the as-prepared composite was 32.6 times higher than that of bulk carbon nitride and 2.3 times higher than that of the composites by conventional impregnating method. This study opens a new avenue to construct heterojunction of CN for large-scale industrial applications in environmental remediation. 展开更多

We search for metal-rich Sausage-kinematic(MRSK)stars with[Fe/H]>−0.8 and−100<Vϕ<50 km/s in LAMOST DR5 in order to investigate the influence of the Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus(GSE)merger event on the Galactic disk. For the first time,we find a group of low-αMRSK stars, and classify it as a metal-rich tail of the GSE galaxy based on the chemical and kinematical properties. This group has slightly larger R_(apo),Z_(max) and Etot distributions than a previously-reported high-αgroup.Its low-αratio does not allow for an origin resulting from the splash process of the GSE merger event,as is proposed to explain the high-αgroup.A hydrodynamical simulation by Amarante et al.provides a promising solution,in which the GSE galaxy is a clumpy Milky-Way analogue that develops a bimodal disk chemistry. This scenario explains the existence of MRSK stars with both high-αand low-αratios found in this work.It is further supported by another new feature that a clump of MRSK stars is located at Z_(max)=3-5 kpc, which corresponds to the widely adopted disk-halo transition at|Z|∼4 kpc.We suggest that a pile-up of MRSK stars at Zmax contributes significantly to this disk-halo transition,an interesting imprint left by the GSE merger event. These results also provide an important implication on the connection between the GSE and the Virgo Radial Merger. 展开更多
