Some effective criteria for global synchronization of fractional order complex-variable dynamical networks are derived based on the Lyapunov stability theory. From the theoretical analysis, one concludes that under appropriate conditions, the complex-variable dynamical networks can realize the global synchronization by using the proper adaptive pinning control method. Meanwhile, we succeed in solving the problem about how much coupling strength should be applied to ensure the synchronization of the fraetionla order complex networks. Therefore, compared with the existing results, the synchronization method in this paper is more general and convenient. This result extends the synchronization condition of the real-variable dynamical networks to the complex-valued field, which makes our research more praetical. Finally, two simulation examples show that the derived theoretical results are valid and the proposed adaptive pinning method is effective.展开更多

Both the topological structure and the system parameters can be unknown and need to be identified. Based on impulsive stability theory and the Lyapunov function method, an impulsive control scheme combined with an adaptive strategy is adopted to design effective and universal network estimators. The restriction on the impulsive interval is relaxed by adopting an adaptive strategy. Further, the proposed method can monitor the online switching topology effectively. To provide such a vibration absorber for the integrated spacecraft platform,we analyze the targeted energy transfer of the simplified model with nonlinear energy sink using the complex-variables averaging method. Theoretical study shows two quasi-periodic responses that are essentially different in this nonlinear system. The steady-state response which is one of two quasi-periodic responses is caused by the linear instability of system, and another one appears as a result of the nonlinear normal modes between the linear and nonlinear oscillators, resulting from the energy transfer of different oscillators, and it can be used to vibration absorber. Secondly, this paper also discusses the performance of the proposed nonlinear absorber by using the phase portraits. All conclusion derived by the analytic model is verified numerically and the results are consistent with numerical simulations.展开更多

The extreme learning machine(ELM), as a single hidden layer feedforward neural network, is used as an ML model to predict maximum settlement smaxof the ground surface. The particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm is applied to optimize the parameters for the ELM method, namely, weight and bias values from the input layer to the hidden layer. The mean square error of the k-fold cross validation sets is considered the fitness function of the PSO algorithm. For 38 data samples from published papers, 30 samples are used as the training set, and 8 samples are used as the test set. For the test samples, the error of five samples ranges between-5 and 5 mm. The error of only one sample is slightly greater than 10 mm. The proposed PSO-ELM method demonstrates good prediction performance of smax. A deformation parameter of the nonuniform displacement mode for the tunnel cross-section is calibrated based on predicted smax. When the determined nonuniform displacement mode is used as the boundary condition of the tunnel cross-section, the GDF of a shallow circular tunnel is analytically predicted based on the complex-variable method prior to tunnel excavation. For a specific engineering case,i.e., the Heathrow Express tunnel, the proposed PSO-ELM-analytical method can well predict the surface-settlement trough curve, horizontal displacements at different depths, and vertical displacements above the tunnel.展开更多
