Reduced Partition Function Ratio in the Frequency Complex Plane: A Mathematical Approach

This paper gives a mathematical approach to calculate the fractionation factor of isotopes in a general cluster (also known as?super-molecule), which composes of necessary chemical effect within three bonds outside the interested atom(s). The cluster might have imaginary frequencies after being optimized in quantum softwares. The approach includes the contribution of the difference, which is resulted from the substitution of heavy and light isotopes in the cluster, of vibrations of imaginary frequencies to give precise prediction of isotope fractionation factor. We call the new mathematical approximation “reduced partition function ratio in the frequency complex plane (RPFRC)”. If there is no imaginary frequency for a cluster, RPFRC?is simplified to be Urey (1947) or Bigeleisen and Mayer (1947) formula. Final results of this new algorithm are in good agreement with those in earlier studies. 展开更多

In this paper, the Steiner area formula and the polar moment of inertia were expressed during one-parameter closed planar homothetic inverse motions in complex plane. The Steiner point was defined when the rotation number was different zero and it was called the Steiner normal when the rotation number was equal to zero. The fixed pole point was given with its components and its relation between Steiner point or Steiner normal was explained. The sagittal motion of a telescopic crane was considered as an example. This motion was described by a double hinge consisting of the fixed control panel of the telescopic crane and the moving arm of the telescopic crane. A new type of displacement pile, the X-section cast-in-place concrete (XCC) pile, has recently been developed in China. Extensive field tests and laboratory experi- ments are undertaken to evaluate its performance and quantify the non-uniform deforma- tion effect (NUDE) of the X-shaped cross section during installation. This paper develops a simplified theoretical model that attempts to capture the NUDE. Based on the theory of complex variable plane elasticity, closed-form solutions of the stress and displacement for the X-shaped cavity boundary value problem are given. Subsequently, the analytical solution is used to evaluate the NUDE, the concrete filling index (CFI), and the perimeter reduction coefficient of the XCC pile cross section. The computed results are compared with field test results, showing reasonable agreement. The present simplified theoretical model reveals the deformation mechanism of the X-shaped cavity and facilitates applica- tion of the newly developed XCC pile technique in geotechnical engineering. 展开更多

We uncover the virtual monopoles underlying the nontrivial phases of the one-dimensional nonlinear excitations of rogue waves by extending the Dirac magnetic monopole theory to a complex plane. We find that the density zeros of the nonlinear waves on the extended complex plane constitute the virtual monopole fields with a quantized flux of elementary π. We then explain the exotic properties of rogue waves by means of a virtual monopole collision mechanism and find that the maximum amplitude amplification ratio and multiple phase steps of the high-order rogue waves are closely related to the number of their contained monopoles. These results open a new avenue for studying topological properties of nonlinear waves and provide an alternative way to understand their dynamics. 展开更多

Using Muskhelishvili's complex potential method, the plane elasticity problem of power function curved cracks is investigated with an arbitrary power of a natural number, and the general solutions of the stress intensity factors (SIFs) for mode I and mode II at the crack tip are obtained under the remotely uniform tensile loads. The present results can be reduced to the well-known solutions when the power of the function takes different natural numbers. Numerical examples are conducted to reveal the effects of the coefficient, the power, and the projected length along the x-axis of the power function curved crack on the SIFs for mode I and mode II. 展开更多

为了提高复杂振动环境中周期性结构的减振特性,提出了一种周期性欧拉梁-弹簧振子结构。该周期性结构耦合了布拉格散射机理和局域共振机制,将多阵列多自由度振子呈周期性地集成到周期性欧拉梁上,并基于系统的弯曲振动控制方程,采用平面... 为了提高复杂振动环境中周期性结构的减振特性,提出了一种周期性欧拉梁-弹簧振子结构。该周期性结构耦合了布拉格散射机理和局域共振机制,将多阵列多自由度振子呈周期性地集成到周期性欧拉梁上,并基于系统的弯曲振动控制方程,采用平面波展开和扩展平面波展开方法计算了周期性结构的带隙特性,研究了欧拉梁材料参数、振子质量比、自振频率和空间分布对周期性结构带隙特性的影响。结果表明,基于双模耦合的周期性欧拉梁-弹簧振子结构能够显著提高结构整体的带隙性能。布拉格散射带隙对欧拉梁材料参数的差异非常敏感,局部共振带隙则可通过振子质量比、自振频率和空间分布进行调控。当两条带隙中心频率接近时,易发生耦合形成宽频带隙。通过参数优化可实现低频、宽带、衰减能力增强的带隙设计,为复杂工程环境下的减振结构开发提供新思路。 展开更多

为了降低复杂环境中存在的各类噪声,消除噪声给语音识别及说话人识别等系统在军事自动指挥及控制领域等的应用中带来的影响,设计了一种新的谱减法。针对传统谱减法在语音增强过程中的原始语音和噪声信号相差为0的错误假设,提出一种基于... 为了降低复杂环境中存在的各类噪声,消除噪声给语音识别及说话人识别等系统在军事自动指挥及控制领域等的应用中带来的影响,设计了一种新的谱减法。针对传统谱减法在语音增强过程中的原始语音和噪声信号相差为0的错误假设,提出一种基于复平面的、考虑纯净语音与噪声及带噪语音之间相位差信息的改进谱减法,对增益函数进行修正。经过复杂的战场仿真环境测试表明,该方法性能较好,在低信噪比的环境下性能更优。对于输入信噪比为5 dB的带噪语音,经复平面谱减法去噪后,输出信噪比为12.21 dB,比传统谱减法提高了2.1 dB。 展开更多
