The geological background of the Subei basin is that of small relief subsidence, low geothermal gradient, multi-sedimentary hiatuses, intense reconstruction of the basin, frequent magmatic activity, and a unique combi...The geological background of the Subei basin is that of small relief subsidence, low geothermal gradient, multi-sedimentary hiatuses, intense reconstruction of the basin, frequent magmatic activity, and a unique combination of source rock and reservoir. This geological background resulted in characteristics such as many small fault blocks, multiple oil-bearing formations, scattered oil distribution, mini- to small-sized reservoirs, and difficulties in exploration. Aimed at such characteristics, an effective exploration strategy was adopted, and the oil reserves, production and economic benefits of the Jiangsu oilfield were significantly increased. This exploration strategy included understanding the hydrocarbon generation mechanism of source rocks, progressive evaluation of oil resources, comprehensive research on the faulted systems, the distribution of oil reservoirs and their controlling factors. The techniques used included integration of acquisition, processing and interpretation with 3-D seismics as the core technology, trap description and evaluation, directional drilling and cluster drilling, integration of cuttings logging, gas chromatographic logging and geochemical logging, and integration of early reservoir description and progressive exploration and development. This strategy could be guidance for other complex fault blocks.展开更多

The solid form of drugs plays a central role in optimizing the physicochemical properties of drugs,and new solid forms will provide more options to achieve the desirable pharmaceutical profiles of drugs.Recently,certa...The solid form of drugs plays a central role in optimizing the physicochemical properties of drugs,and new solid forms will provide more options to achieve the desirable pharmaceutical profiles of drugs.Recently,certain drugs have been found to form crystalline inclusion complexes(ICs) with multiple types of linear polymers,representing a new subcategory of pharmaceutical solids.In this study,we used diflunisal(DIF) as the model drug host and extended the vip of drug/polymer ICs from homopolymers to block copolymers of poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) and poly(s-caprolactone)(PCL).The block length in the vip copolymers showed a significant influence on the formation,thermal stability and dissolution behavior of the DIF ICs.Though the PEG block could hardly be included alone,it could indeed be included in the DIF ICs when the PCL block was long enough.The increase of the PCL block length produced IC crystals with improved thermal stability.The dissolution profiles of DIF/block copolymer ICs exhibited gradually decreased aqueous solubility and dissolution rate with the increasing PCL block length.These results demonstrate the possibility of using drug/polymer ICs to modulate the desired pharmaceutical profiles of drugs in a predictable and controllable manner.展开更多

Space diversity uses multiple transmitting and/or receiving antennas to create independent fading channels without penalty in bandwidth efficiency. Space-time block coding is an encoding scheme for communication over Rayleigh fading channels using multiple transmitting antennas. Space-time block codes from complex orthogonal designs exist only for two transmitting antennas. This paper generalizes a new complex orthogonal space-time block code for four transmitting antennas, whose decoding complexity is very low. Simulations show that the generalized complex orthogonal space-time block code has low bit error rate, full rate and possibly large diversity.展开更多

Lithologically, the potassic granitoid series consists chiefly of monzodiorite, quartz monzonite and syenogranite. Their trace elements and Sm-Nd isotope characteristics indicate that they were derived from partial melting of Archean TTG rocks in an overthickened continental crust. Petrogenesis of this potassic granitoid series implies a collisional environment within the Trans-North China Orogen in the Paleoproterozoic, which supports a tectonic model of Eastern and Western Continental Blocks being amalgamated in the Paleoproterozoic.展开更多

This study shows that the intrusive rocks distributed in the Aoyiqieke-Tamuqi area on the southern margin of the Tarim Block are composed of gabbro, diorite, granodiorite and granite, which constitute regionally a nea...This study shows that the intrusive rocks distributed in the Aoyiqieke-Tamuqi area on the southern margin of the Tarim Block are composed of gabbro, diorite, granodiorite and granite, which constitute regionally a nearly EW-trending tectono-magmatic belt. Petrochemically the diorite, granodiorite and granite belong to the calc-alkaline, high-K series, with Na 2O/K 2O ratios varying between 0.83 and 2.63. M/F ratios in the diorite are within the range of 0.44- 0.70 and those of the granodiorite (granite) are 0.45- 0.87. Petrochemistry data show that the intrusive complexes are of the I type and their ΣREE is slightly variable, within the range of 178.31- 229.01×10 -6. The LREE/HREE ratios of the diorite and granite are 3.78- 5.13 and 6.69- 7.66, respectively. The plutons usually show moderate negative Eu anomalies with δEu values ranging from 0.53 to 0.82, showing almost no difference among different rocks. The (La/Yb) N values of diorite and granite are 12.39- 14.86 and 22.07- 26.03, respectively. The diorite and granite possess very similar REE distribution patterns, indicating that they were both derived from the same source. As for their trace element ratios, the diorite has higher Nb/Ta ratios than the granite, which are 15.73- 17.16 and 12.03- 15.01, respectively. It can be seen that the Nb/Ta ratios of the diorite are much closer to the average mantle ( 17.5). Their Zr/Hf ratios are very close to each other, within the range of 29-34. Th/Y ratios in the diorite are 0.42- 0.80 (all less than unity) while those of the granite are 1.02- 2.04. Some difference is also noticed in Ti/V between the diorite and the granite ( 52.6- 54.2 for the former and 52.6- 54.2 for the latter). As compared with ocean ridge granites, both diorite and granite are characterized by remarkable LILE enrichment, as well as by moderate negative Ba and postive Ce anomalies. The contents of Nb and Ta in the diorite and granite are equivalent to those of the ocean ridge granites, but the contents of Zr, Hf, Sm, Y, and Yb are all lower than those of the ocean ridge granites, indicating that these granites are similar to the island-arc granites of Chile. From their geochemical characteristics, it is considered that the intrusive rocks in the area studied were formed in an island-arc environment at the continental margin.展开更多

The charnockites are medium to coarse grained, inequigranular, with porp...The charnockites of Marandahalli, Dharmapuri District, Tamil Nadu India, form a part of the southern granulitic terrain in the Salem Block (SB). The charnockites are medium to coarse grained, inequigranular, with porphyroblastic and granophyric textures. They are composed of plagioclase feldspars (49 - 66 vol.%), K-feldspar (1 - 5 vol.%) and quartz (21 - 34 vol.%). The mafic minerals include pyroxene (2 - 7 vol.%) and biotite (1 - 12 vol.%). The accessory minerals include magnetite and apatite. Orthopyroxene compositions (MgO 16 - 22 wt.%) fall within the hypersthene series (En55.03Fs43.57Wo1.4) and yield peak metamorphic temperatures of 800˚C - 1000˚C. Biotites show K2O, MgO, FeO, TiO2, and Al2O3 concentrations consistent with magmatic formation, and Ti-in-biotite thermometry suggests temperatures of ~740˚C - 800˚C. Plagioclase compositions (An26-33) plot in the oligoclase field, while K-feldspar (Or93-99) plots in the orthoclase/microcline field. A ternary feldspar geothermometer indicates a retrograde temperature of 2 (65 - 68 wt.%), Na2O > K2O, high CaO (3 - 5 wt.%), MgO (2.5 - 4 wt.%) and Fe2O3 (2 - 6 wt.%). The concentration of V, Rb and Ni, and LREE-rich and HREE-depleted patterns of the rocks indicate low degree of partial melting.展开更多
