Quantifying and mapping how ecosystem services impact agricultural competitiveness is crucial for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations.However,few study quantified agricultural competitiveness...Quantifying and mapping how ecosystem services impact agricultural competitiveness is crucial for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations.However,few study quantified agricultural competitiveness and mapped the effects of ecosystem services on agricultural competitiveness using multiple models.In this study,multi-source data from 2000 to 2020 were utilized to establish the indicator system of agricultural competitiveness;five ecosystem services were quantified using computation models;Geographic Information System(GIS)spatial analysis was used to explore the spatial patterns of agricultural competitiveness and ecosystem services;geographic detector models were applied to investigate the effects and driving mechanisms of ecosystem services on agricultural competitiveness.Shandong Province of China was selected as the case study area.The results demonstrated that:1)there was a significant increase in agricultural competitiveness during the study period,with high levels observed mainly in the east region of the study area.2)The spatial distribution patterns of ecosystem services and agricultural competitiveness primarily exhibited High-High and Low-Low Cluster types.3)Habitat quality emerged as the main driving factor of agricultural competitiveness in 2000 and 2020,while water yield played a substantial role in 2010.4)The coupling of two ecosystem services exerted a greater effect on agricultural competitiveness compared to individual ecosystem service.The innovations of this study are constructing an indicator system to quantify agricultural competitiveness,and exploring the effects of ecosystem services on agricultural competitiveness.This study proposed an indicator system to quantify agricultural competitiveness,which can be applied in other regions,and explored the effects of ecosystem services on agricultural competitiveness.The findings of this study can serve as valuable insights for policymakers to formulate tailored agricultural development policies that take into account the synergistic effects of ecosystem services on agricultural competitiveness.展开更多

The effects of environmental regulation on industrial competitiveness are largely subject to the institutional design of environmental regulation. Despite numerous studies on the relationship between environmental regulation and industrial competitiveness, a consensus has yet to be reached. Aside from differences in research methodology, these studies failed to give sufficient consideration to the impact of environmental regulation on industrial competitiveness. Such effects can be negative or positive depending on the design of environmental regulatory policy. This paper has investigated the relationship between environmental regulation and the competitiveness of China＇s iron and steel industry and discovered that tighter environmental regulation does not diminish the competitiveness of the iron and steel industry since the policy design of environmental regulation accommodates the tolerance of advanced production capacity and includes a reasonable cost sharing mechanism. The global rise in CO_(2)concentration is having a profound impact on the structure and function of aquatic ecosystems.However,little information is available on the responses of odorproducing cyanobacteria to the inc...The global rise in CO_(2)concentration is having a profound impact on the structure and function of aquatic ecosystems.However,little information is available on the responses of odorproducing cyanobacteria to the increase in CO_(2)concentration.In this study,the effects of different CO_(2)concentrations on 2-methylisoborneol(MIB)-producing Pseudanabaena and non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena under monoculture and co-culture conditions were investigated.Results show that the specific growth rate of Pseudanabaena gradually increased with the rise in CO_(2)concentration,and for the 2-MIB-producing strain,this increase was significantly higher than the non-2-MIB-producing strain.Under co-culture conditions,the proportion of non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena was significantly higher than that of 2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena,suggesting a superior competitive ability of non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena over 2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena.Under monoculture conditions,the total 2-MIB production at the 300-μg/g CO_(2)concentration was significantly higher than that at 600-and 1200-μg/g CO_(2)concentrations.The 2-MIB concentration produced by Pseudanabaena decreased with the increasing in CO_(2)concentration.Therefore,we believe that with the future increase in CO_(2)concentration,2-MIB concentration would be decreased and so would the risk of 2-MIB outbreaks.展开更多

Our research led to the following findings： core factors determine the level of competitiveness for China and the US; the national competitiveness of both countries is evolving towards structural homogeneity; and China and the US lead most countries in many common areas. China has the potential to overtake the US in competitiveness in the future. The competitiveness of a country’s agricultural products is not only related to its capacity to export agricultural products,but also to the sustainability of its agricultural sector.How to improve the international ...The competitiveness of a country’s agricultural products is not only related to its capacity to export agricultural products,but also to the sustainability of its agricultural sector.How to improve the international competitiveness of a country’s agricultural products while maintaining the sustainability of its agricultural sector is a practical problem of great urgency for a country with a large agricultural sector such as China.With this in mind,this study should have a considerable policy and practical significance.We used two evaluation indices,namely trade competitiveness(TC)index and revealed comparative advantage(RCA)index,to measure and analyze the international competitiveness of six China’s representative agricultural products,i.e.,live pigs,live chickens,live cattle,apples,tea,and beer,and to examine the changing trends of these products’competitiveness during 1994-2013.The results indicate that the export competitiveness of China’s agricultural products is weak and likely to deteriorate further.However,some traditional agricultural products with distinctive regional characteristics,for example,tea and live pigs,are relatively strong internationally.To this end,China should vigorously promote the production and foreign trade in traditional agricultural products with distinctive regional characteristics.At the same time,comprehensive measures should be taken to enhance the international competitiveness of disadvantaged agricultural products.展开更多

As the importance of tourism economy for a region's economic development is standing out,tourism competitiveness becomes an important indicator to measure a region's economic development.In this paper,based on...As the importance of tourism economy for a region's economic development is standing out,tourism competitiveness becomes an important indicator to measure a region's economic development.In this paper,based on the related researches of other scholars,with the data from the China Tourism Statistical Yearbook as the basic support,a tourism competitiveness system covering 44 indicators of 6 items including industry scale competitiveness,consumption competitiveness,extraversion competitiveness and industry development competitiveness was constructed,and the competitiveness of 31 provinces and cities in China during 1996 and 2004 was comparatively studied.It was found that there were obvious differences among the tourism competitiveness of different provinces,and generally speaking,the comprehensive competitiveness showed a two-way development trend;from the view of the individual competitiveness,the scale competitiveness of the tourism showed a polarization trend;there were obvious changes in the consumption competitiveness;the extraversion as a whole has been improved;the industry development competitiveness has been steadily promoted;the reception ability of different provinces differed greatly and the advantages of scientific and technological progress was becoming more and more significant.展开更多

文摘The global rise in CO_(2)concentration is having a profound impact on the structure and function of aquatic ecosystems.However,little information is available on the responses of odorproducing cyanobacteria to the increase in CO_(2)concentration.In this study,the effects of different CO_(2)concentrations on 2-methylisoborneol(MIB)-producing Pseudanabaena and non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena under monoculture and co-culture conditions were investigated.Results show that the specific growth rate of Pseudanabaena gradually increased with the rise in CO_(2)concentration,and for the 2-MIB-producing strain,this increase was significantly higher than the non-2-MIB-producing strain.Under co-culture conditions,the proportion of non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena was significantly higher than that of 2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena,suggesting a superior competitive ability of non-2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena over 2-MIB-producing Pseudanabaena.Under monoculture conditions,the total 2-MIB production at the 300-μg/g CO_(2)concentration was significantly higher than that at 600-and 1200-μg/g CO_(2)concentrations.The 2-MIB concentration produced by Pseudanabaena decreased with the increasing in CO_(2)concentration.Therefore,we believe that with the future increase in CO_(2)concentration,2-MIB concentration would be decreased and so would the risk of 2-MIB outbreaks.
文摘This study observes the process of strategy building and capability accumulation of companies in the currently booming Chinese electric vehicles(EV)1 market from the perspective of business ecosystems.While examining the internal and external factors of the formation about the Chinese EV industry business ecosystem,such as industrial structure transformation,technology transfer,government policies,and corporate competition,with the platform theory,I analyze the growth strategies and competitiveness of Chinese companies,particularly BYD Co.,Ltd.(BYD),which has risen to the top of the world in EV completed vehicles,and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.,Ltd.(CATL),which has risen to the top of the world in electric vehicle batteries(EVB)2.BYD and CATL have gained competitive advantages by utilizing the distinctive management resources,which have accumulated over the years to build platforms for EVBs and EVs in response to changes in the external environment,and have actively developed their platform strategies.
文摘Research of competitiveness of China and the United States is of great significance to enhancing China＇s economic competitiveness and achieving the objective of national rejuvenation. By creating a competitiveness framework and a system of heterogeneous indicators, this paper investigates the competitiveness of China and the US in terms of current status, historic change and global environment. Our research led to the following findings： core factors determine the level of competitiveness for China and the US; the national competitiveness of both countries is evolving towards structural homogeneity; and China and the US lead most countries in many common areas. China has the potential to overtake the US in competitiveness in the future. We suggest that China increase its competitiveness by promoting its advantages, addressing its weaknesses and focusing on core areas.
文摘This paper deals with the competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products, base on the index of revealed comparative advantage (RCA) using lots of data for the period of 1980 to 2003. The index is useful in identifying the demarcation between comparative advantage and comparative disadvantage. The research indicates that some agro-products in China such as edible vegetables and tea have a comparative advantage, but the RCA values have been declining over the 24-year period, which has vast impacts on future reform in China’s agricultural structure.
文摘After analysis of characteristics of Bama rural health-caring tourism,it had highlighted monopolisticness of longevity culture,diversity of tourist resources,and harmony between human and nature.The paper pointed out that,to accelerate new countryside construction of Bama rural health-caring tourism,it should realize nearby employment and increase farmers' income;complete construction of rural basic facilities;ameliorate rural sanitary condition and transform villagers' thought;promote adjustment of rural industrial structure;and establish protection mechanism of longevous people.After survey on development of Bama rural tourism,it concluded bottlenecks restricting Bama rural tourism development,which were that environment at longevity area had suffered pollution;that the development was disordered and lacked of management;and that basic facilities waited for improvement.On this basis,approaches for improvement of competitiveness of Bama health-caring tourism had been proposed.It emphasized that it should enhance protection of longevity tourist resources,build farmhouse inn demonstration base,implement admittance system,establish community health-care system,beneficial to realizing economic,social and ecological benefits,and further manifesting its exuberant vitality.

文摘Based on the current development of industrial real estate of Jiangxi Province, comprehensive analysis was conducted to 6 aspects using the idea of diamond model, namely, factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, firm strategy, structure and rivalry, government and chance through the comparison with the other industrial real estates and analysis on horizontal competition in China. Development countermeasures were investigated to improve the competitiveness of the industrial real estate in Guangxi, putting forward the strategies of developing the role of government and business, seizing the opportunities of the times, city-industry integration development, implementation of industrial integration and integration of city development, the implementation of industrial integration and investment planning.
文摘The competitiveness of a country’s agricultural products is not only related to its capacity to export agricultural products,but also to the sustainability of its agricultural sector.How to improve the international competitiveness of a country’s agricultural products while maintaining the sustainability of its agricultural sector is a practical problem of great urgency for a country with a large agricultural sector such as China.With this in mind,this study should have a considerable policy and practical significance.We used two evaluation indices,namely trade competitiveness(TC)index and revealed comparative advantage(RCA)index,to measure and analyze the international competitiveness of six China’s representative agricultural products,i.e.,live pigs,live chickens,live cattle,apples,tea,and beer,and to examine the changing trends of these products’competitiveness during 1994-2013.The results indicate that the export competitiveness of China’s agricultural products is weak and likely to deteriorate further.However,some traditional agricultural products with distinctive regional characteristics,for example,tea and live pigs,are relatively strong internationally.To this end,China should vigorously promote the production and foreign trade in traditional agricultural products with distinctive regional characteristics.At the same time,comprehensive measures should be taken to enhance the international competitiveness of disadvantaged agricultural products.
文摘By using diamond model, the current development status and core competitiveness of the rice seed industry in Guangxi Province were analyzed in detail from the 6 aspects of production factors, demand factors, related industries and support industries, firm strategy, chance factor and government factor, which clarified the advantages of the rice seed industry of Guangxi in the nature and technological factors, firm strategy and government policy, and the disadvantages in demand factors, production cost, infrastructure and related industries. And the corresponding countermeasures were proposed to enhance the competitiveness of the rice seed industry of Guangxi.
文摘Environmental competitiveness, price competitiveness and non-price competitiveness make up the undivided vital part of product＇s competitiveness. Environmental competitiveness can not only help improve the enterprise＇s key competitiveness directly, but also strengthen it indirectly by improving the products＇ price competitiveness and non-price competitiveness effectively. Instead of being confined to the product itself, there are several element＇s that can determine and influence the product＇s environmental competitiveness, including the manufacturing process, the management of enterprise＆the life circle of the products, etc. Measuring these elements by setting “environmental suitable degree ”, and building up the echelon model to evaluate the environmental competitiveness can help us see about the standard of the enterprises＇ environmental competitiveness. Though many of the national enterprises have price competitiveness to some extend, restricted by all kinds of elements like systems, techniques, policy, the enterprises are weak in environmental competitiveness. Beginning with systems redesign, carrying out the sustainable development, strengthening inner enterprises management, making more efforts on technique innovation, and widely publicizing and teaching the ecological concept, Chinese national enterprises can improve their environmental competitiveness and improve their key competitiveness.

Through the analysis on relevant data obtained by GIS, spatial analysis research had been conducted on competitiveness of Lingnan distinctive architectural tourist cultural sites in Guangdong Province and some conclusions had been obtained.
文摘As the importance of tourism economy for a region's economic development is standing out,tourism competitiveness becomes an important indicator to measure a region's economic development.In this paper,based on the related researches of other scholars,with the data from the China Tourism Statistical Yearbook as the basic support,a tourism competitiveness system covering 44 indicators of 6 items including industry scale competitiveness,consumption competitiveness,extraversion competitiveness and industry development competitiveness was constructed,and the competitiveness of 31 provinces and cities in China during 1996 and 2004 was comparatively studied.It was found that there were obvious differences among the tourism competitiveness of different provinces,and generally speaking,the comprehensive competitiveness showed a two-way development trend;from the view of the individual competitiveness,the scale competitiveness of the tourism showed a polarization trend;there were obvious changes in the consumption competitiveness;the extraversion as a whole has been improved;the industry development competitiveness has been steadily promoted;the reception ability of different provinces differed greatly and the advantages of scientific and technological progress was becoming more and more significant.
