Combined sewer networks carry wastewater and stormwater together.Capacity limitation of these sewer networks results in combined sewer overflows(CSOs)during high-intensity storms.Untreated CSOs when directly discharge...Combined sewer networks carry wastewater and stormwater together.Capacity limitation of these sewer networks results in combined sewer overflows(CSOs)during high-intensity storms.Untreated CSOs when directly discharged to the nearby natural water bodies cause many environmental problems.Controlling existing urban sewer networks is one possible way of addressing the issues in urban wastewater systems.However,it is still a challenge,when considering the receiving water quality effects.This paper presents an evolutionary constrained multi-objective optimization approach to control the existing combined sewer networks.The control of online storage tanks was taken into account when controlling the combined sewer network.The developed multi-objective approach considers two important objectives,i.e.the pollution load to the receiving water from CSOs and the cost of the wastewater treatment.The proposed optimization algorithm is applied here to a realistic interceptor sewer system to demonstrate its effectiveness.展开更多
BACKGROUND Despite the use of current standard therapy,the prognosis of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is poor,with median survival times of 40 mo for intermediate HCC(Barcelona Clinic Liver C...BACKGROUND Despite the use of current standard therapy,the prognosis of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is poor,with median survival times of 40 mo for intermediate HCC(Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer[BCLC]stage B)and 6-8 mo for advanced HCC(BCLC stage C).Although patients with earlystage HCC are usually suitable for therapies with curative intention,up to 70% of patients experience relapse within 5 years.In the past decade,the United States Food and Drug Administration has approved different immunogenic treatment options for advanced HCC,the most common type of liver cancer among adults.Nevertheless,no treatment is useful in the adjuvant setting.Since 2007,the multikinase inhibitor sorafenib has been used as a first-line targeted drug to address the increased mortality and incidence rates of HCC.However,in 2020,the IMbrave150 trial demonstrated that combination therapy of atezolizumab(antiprogrammed death-ligand 1[PD-L1])and bevacizumab(anti-vascular endothelial growth factor[VEGF])is superior to sorafenib,a single anti-programmed death 1/PD-L1 antibody inhibitor used as an anti-cancer monotherapy for HCC treatment.AIM To conduct a systematic literature review to evaluate the evidence supporting the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab/bevacizumab as preferred first-line drug therapy over the conventional sorafenib or atezolizumab monotherapies,which are used to improve survival outcomes and reduce disease progression in patients with unresectable HCC and non-decompensated liver disease.METHODS A comprehensive literature review was conducted using the PubMed,Scopus,ScienceDirect,clinicaltrials.gov,PubMed Central,Embase,EuropePMC,and CINAHL databases to identify studies that met the inclusion criteria using relevant MeSH terms.This systematic review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and risk of bias(RoB)were assessed using the Cochrane RoB 2 tool and Sevis.RESULTS In the atezolizumab/bevacizumab group,an improvement in overall tumor response,reduction of disease progression,and longer progression-free survival were observed compared to monotherapy with either sorafenib or atezolizumab.Hypertension and proteinuria were the most common adverse events,and the rates of adverse events were comparable to those with the monotherapy.Of the studies,there were two completed trials and two ongoing trials analyzed using high quality and low bias.A more thorough analysis was only performed on the completed trials.CONCLUSION Treatment of HCC with atezolizumab/bevacizumab combination therapy was confirmed to be an effective first-line treatment to improve survival in patients with unresectable HCC and non-decompensated liver disease compared to monotherapy with either sorafenib or atezolizumab.展开更多
Aiming at the problems of large energy consumption and serious pollution of winter heating existing in the rural buildings in Southern Xinjiang,a combined active-passive heating system was proposed,and the simulation ...Aiming at the problems of large energy consumption and serious pollution of winter heating existing in the rural buildings in Southern Xinjiang,a combined active-passive heating system was proposed,and the simulation software was used to optimize the parameters of the system,according to the parameters obtained from the optimization,a test platform was built and winter heating test was carried out.The simulation results showed that the thickness of the air layer of 75 mm,the total area of the vent holes of 0.24 m^(2),and the thickness of the insulation layer of 120 mm were the optimal construction for the passive part;solar collector area of 28 m^(2),hot water storage tank volume of 1.4 m^(3),mass flow rate of 800 kg/h on the collector side,mass flow rate of 400 kg/h on the heat exchanger side,and output power of auxiliary heat source of 5∼9 kWwere the optimal constructions for active heating system.Test results showed that during the heating period,the system could provide sufficient heat to the room under different heating modes,and the indoor temperature reached over 18°C,which met the heating demand.The economic and environmental benefits of the system were analyzed,and the economic benefits of the systemwere better than coal-fired heating,and the CO_(2) emissionswere reduced by 3,292.25 kg compared with coalfiredheating.The results of the study showed that the combinedactive-passiveheating systemcouldeffectively solve the heating problems existing in rural buildings in Southern Xinjiang,and it also laid the theoretical foundation for the popularization of the combined heating systems.展开更多
