Color metasurface holograms are powerful and versatile platforms for modulating the amplitude,phase,polarization,and other properties of light at multiple operating wavelengths.However,the current color metasurface holography can only realize static manipulation.In this study,we propose and demonstrate a multiplexing metasurface technique combined with multiwavelength code-division multiplexing(CDM)to realize dynamic manipulation.Multicolor code references are utilized to record information within a single metasurface and increase the information capacity and security for anticracks.A total of 48 monochrome images consisting of pure color characters and multilevel color video frames were reconstructed in dual polarization channels of the birefringent metasurface to exhibit high information density,and a video was displayed via sequential illumination of the corresponding code patterns to verify the ability of dynamic manipulation.Our approach demonstrates significant application potential in optical data storage,optical encryption,multiwavelengthversatile diffractive optical elements,and stimulated emission depletion microscopy. 展开更多

We propose a new full color ghost imaging scheme using both time and code division multiplexing technologies.In the scheme,the speckle patterns of three colors(red,green and blue)are modulated with different time slots and codes.The light intensity is sampled by one bucket detector.Then based on the modulated time slots and codes,we can effectively and simultaneously extract three detection component signals corresponding to three color components of objects from the sampling signal of the bucket detector.Finally,three component images resulting from the three component detection signals can be synthesized into a full color image.The experimental results verify the feasibility of our scheme under the limit of the number of time slots and codes.Moreover,our scheme reduces the number of bucket detectors and can realize high quality imaging even in a noisy environment. 展开更多

A passive optical network (PON) scheme based on optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) for the downstream traffics is proposed and analyzed in detail. In the PON, the downstream traffics are broadcasted by OCDM technology to guarantee the security, while the upstream traffics pass through the same optical fiber by the common time division multiple access (TDMA) technology to decrease the cost. This schemes are denoted as OCDM/TDMA-PON, which can be applied to an optical access network (OAN) with full services on demand, such as Internet protocol, video on demand, tele-presence and high quality audio. The proposed OCDM/TDMA-PON scheme combines advantages of PON, TDMA, and OCDM technology. Simulation results indicate that the designed scheme improves the OAN performance, and enhances flexibility and scalability of the system. 展开更多

In order to realize broadband and high-speed transmission in the last mile access network,the Coded Wavelength-Division Multiplexing(Coded-WDM)technique on PON(so-called CDM-PON)is presented on fiber-to-the-home access network.In this paper,the codcd-WDM coder/decoder(codec}is configured on Optical Network Unit(ONU)and Optical Line Terminal(OLT)in Ethemet Passive Optical Network(E-PON).Here,network codecs are constructed with Arrayed Waveguide Grating(AWG)devices and the signature address code is employed as complementary Walsh code whose original code is for data bit'1'and complementary code is for data bit'0'respectively.It is shown that the simultaneous active user of proposed scheme using CWH code is improved 100%than using M-Sequence and conventional Walsh code for given bit error rate of 10^-9.In addition,the signal to noise ratio(SNR)performance is improved by 6dB compared with conventional scheme employed M-sequence and Walsh code. 展开更多

A novel architecture of wavelength-division multiplexing/optical code division multiplexing access-passive optical network (WDM/OCDMA-PON) based on superstructure fiber Bragg grating (SSFBG) and wavelength re-modulation technology is proposed. In this scheme, WDM is overlaid on OCDMA channel in a single network by virtue of a kind of SSFBC, and the total capacity of hybrid PON can be extended by regulating the transmission power reasonably. Re, modulation technology is also a good method to save wavelength-specific components at the optical network unit (ONU) and cost of wavelength management on the customer side. In simulation system, 1.25 Gb/s up/downstream data are transported with good performance. In addition the crosstalk penalties from adjacent wavelength channels (with the same OC) are found to be negligible in upstream and downstream transmissions. 展开更多

In order to further improve the carrier synchronization estimation range and accuracy at low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), this paper proposes a code-aided carrier synchronization algorithm based on improved nonbinary low-density parity-check(NB-LDPC) codes to study the polarization-division-multiplexing coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(PDM-CO-OFDM) system performance in the cases of quadrature phase shift keying(QPSK) and 16 quadrature amplitude modulation(16-QAM) modes. The simulation results indicate that this algorithm can enlarge frequency and phase offset estimation ranges and enhance accuracy of the system greatly, and the bit error rate(BER) performance of the system is improved effectively compared with that of the system employing traditional NB-LDPC code-aided carrier synchronization algorithm. 展开更多

Coded overlapped code division multiplexing system with Turbo product structure (TPC-OVCDM) is introduced, and trellis coded modulation (TCM) code is employed as error correcting code for uncoded overlapped code division multiplexing (OVCDM) system. In such a scheme, row code and column code are TCM and OVCDM spreading code, respectively. Data bits are only encoded directly by TCM and transformed into a matrix. Each column of this matrix is then permuted by symbol interleaver before being encoded by OVCDM spreading code. During iterative decoding process in the receiver, two constituent decoders use symbol by symbol BCJR algorithm in the log domain. The order of decoding two sub-codes is determined by the encoding order. The proportion of TCM coding and OVCDM coding affects system performance. For fixed coding structure and symbol interleaver, the performance of TPC-OVCDM systems of different proportions of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel have been simulated. The results show that TPC-OVCDM system of reasonable proportion can achieve significant coding gain, compared with uncoded OVCDM system under the condition of same spectral efficiency at bit error rate (BER) level of 10^-5. 展开更多

This paper proposes to use Fast Fourier Transform ( FFT ) / Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT), instead of vector-matrix multiplication, to implement the spreading/despreoding in Carrier-Interferometry Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing ( CI/OFDM) and Pseudo-Orthogonal Carrier lnterferometry OFDM (PO-CI/OFDM). That can improve the signal processing efficiency of CI/OFDM and PO-CI/OFDM systems by about 2N/log2N and 2N/( 1 + log2 N) times respectively and dose not make any difference to the system function and performance. Moreover, the effi- ciency benefits will increase with the increase of the number of sub-carriers. In addition to that, we point out that the transmitter of CI/OFDM is actually technically equivalent to that of a single-carrier system with cyclic-prefix and the receiver of CI/OFDM is a typical OFDM receiver with CI despreading. Hence the low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PA- PR) property and high anti-fading performance of CI/OFDM system can be well explained . 展开更多
