Phosphorus tends to migrate into metallic iron during the direct reduction of high-phosphorus oolitic iron ore,leading to undesirable phosphorus enrichment in metallic iron.However,the underlying reduction and migrati...Phosphorus tends to migrate into metallic iron during the direct reduction of high-phosphorus oolitic iron ore,leading to undesirable phosphorus enrichment in metallic iron.However,the underlying reduction and migration mechanisms remain poorly understood.Phosphorus behavior during coal-based reduction was systematically investigated through theoretical modeling and experimental approaches.Thermodynamic analysis revealed that the carbon reduction of solid Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)to gaseous P_(2)requires temperatures exceeding 1400℃.Notably,this threshold significantly decreases to 1130.5℃in the presence of SiO_(2)and Al_(2)O_(3).Further investigations demonstrated that Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)co-reduces with Fe_(x)O_(γ)in the presence of SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-Fe_(x)O_(γ),forming Fe_(3)P(instead of gaseous P_(2))at a markedly lower temperature of 778.7℃.Mechanistic studies indicate that the inherent thermal stability of Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)inhibits the generation of reactive[P_(2)O_(5)].However,SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)coexistence destabilizes Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)while exponentially enhancing[P_(2)O_(5)]activity.This synergistic effect dramatically promotes the phosphorus mineral reduction.Characterization confirmed that Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)migrated into the slag phase(4FeO·Al_(2)O_(3)·3SiO_(2)·CaO·P_(2)O_(5)).Subsequently,the reactive P_(2)O_(5)in slag is reduced with metallic iron to form Fe_(3)P,which further dissolves into theα-Fe matrix through solid-state diffusion,ultimately generating Fe-P solid solutions.展开更多
Coal-based soild wastes(CBSWs)are industrial byproducts that can be harmful to the environment.The exploitation and utilization of CBsWs offer societal advantages such as resource conservation,pollution reduction,and ...Coal-based soild wastes(CBSWs)are industrial byproducts that can be harmful to the environment.The exploitation and utilization of CBsWs offer societal advantages such as resource conservation,pollution reduction,and cost-effective production.However,environmentally sustainable management remains a worldwide challenge due to the substantial production volume and limited disposal capacity of CBSWs.The physicochemical properties and utilization of CBSWs are summarized,including fly ash,coal gangue and coal gasification slag.It also presents the current global applications status of CBSWs resources and examines market supply and demand.Subsequently,the paper provides an overview of studies on ways to utilise CBSWs,highlighting the primary avenues of CBSWs resource utilization which are mainly from the fields of chemical materials,metallurgy and agriculture.Furthermore,a comparative evaluation of the various methods for CBSWs resource recovery is conducted,outlining their respective advantages and disadvantages.The future development of CBSWs recycling processes is also discussed.The review concludes that while there is a growing need for attention in CBSWs recycling,its utilization will involve a combination of both large-scale treatment and refinement processes.The paper aims to offer references and insights for the effective utilization and environmental protection of CBSWs.Future direction will focus on the collaborative utilization of CBSWs,emphasizing on the combination of large-scale and high-value utilization.In addition,there is a need to establish a comprehensive database based on on-site production practices,explore on-site solutions to reduce transportation costs,and improve physicochemical properties during the production process.展开更多
Aiming at mitigating the high risks associated with conventional explosive blasting,this study developed a safe directional fracturing technique,i.e.instantaneous expansion with a single fracture(IESF),using a coal-ba...Aiming at mitigating the high risks associated with conventional explosive blasting,this study developed a safe directional fracturing technique,i.e.instantaneous expansion with a single fracture(IESF),using a coal-based solid waste expanding agent.First,the mechanism of directional fracturing blasting by the IESF was analyzed,and the criterion of directional crack initiation was established.On this basis,laboratory experiments and numerical simulations were conducted to systematically evaluate the directional fracturing blasting performance of the IESF.The results indicate that the IESF presents an excellent directional fracturing effect,with average surface undulation differences ranging from 8.1 mm to 22.7 mm on the fracture surfaces.Moreover,during concrete fracturing tests,the stresses and strains in the fracturing direction are measured to be 2.16-3.71 times and 8 times larger than those in the nonfracturing direction,respectively.Finally,the IESF technique was implemented for no-pillar mining with gob-side entry retaining through roof cutting and pressure relief in an underground coal mine.The IESF technique effectively created directional cracks in the roof without causing severe roadway deformation,achieving an average cutting rate and maximum roadway deformation of 94%and 197 mm,respectively.These on-site test results verified its excellent directional rock fracturing performance.The IESF technique,which is safe,efficient,and green,has considerable application prospects in the field of rock mechanics and engineering.展开更多
With the continuous development of various industries and the increasing use of electricity and fuel,the emission of large amounts of greenhouse gases has seriously affected the ecosystem.Bulk coal is often used as a ...With the continuous development of various industries and the increasing use of electricity and fuel,the emission of large amounts of greenhouse gases has seriously affected the ecosystem.Bulk coal is often used as a fuel for metallurgy and power generation,but the harmful gases produced by its combustion cause serious pollution to the environment.To reduce the emission of harmful gases,we found that biomass briquette has the characteristics of low heavy metal content and less pollutant release when burned.In this paper,the preparation and influencing factors of biomass briquette,the characteristics of different types of biomass briquette and the pollution characteristics of biomass briquette are reviewed.The potential pollution during the preparation and combustion of biomass briquette was also discussed from the perspective of life cycle assessment.Compared with bulk coal,biomass briquette emits fewer toxic gases during preparation and combustion,such as NO_(x)and SO_(2).Secondly,the preparation of biomass briquette can also reduce the burden of water resources and soil.To that end,we explore the hazards caused by the preparation and combustion of biomass briquette,analyze its impact on the environment and human body,and summarize the sulfur and nitrogen retention capacity of biomass briquette to achieve the purpose of reducing harmful gas emissions.The results show that biomass briquette can be used as clean coal-based energy instead of traditional energy because of its low harmful substance content.The development and application prospect of biomass briquette under the framework of sustainable development are discussed.展开更多
The isothermal oxidation kinetics of vanadium–titanium magnetite(VTM)pellets prepared with 3Co-binder(coal-based colloidal composite binder)and F-binder(pulverized Funa binder)are compared.The oxidation process was a...The isothermal oxidation kinetics of vanadium–titanium magnetite(VTM)pellets prepared with 3Co-binder(coal-based colloidal composite binder)and F-binder(pulverized Funa binder)are compared.The oxidation process was analyzed using the first-order irreversible reaction,following the shrinking unreacted nucleus model.The results demonstrate that VTM pellets prepared with 3Co-binder exhibit a faster oxidation rate than those with F-binder across the temperatures ranging from 1073 to 1473 K.In both cases,the oxidation process was controlled by an interfacial chemical reaction during the pre-oxidation stage and by internal diffusion during the mid-oxidation stage.The type of binder did not influence the primary oxidation control mechanism of the VTM pellets.However,the apparent rate constants in the pre-oxidation stage and the internal diffusion coefficients in the mid-oxidation stage were higher for pellets with 3Co-binder compared to those with F-binder.The apparent activation energies for the 3Co-binder pellets were similar to those of bentonite,indicating favorable kinetic conditions without negative impacts on the oxidation process.Nonetheless,it is important to note that pellets with F-binder required a longer oxidation time than those with 3Co-binder.展开更多
The addition of high-content crumb rubber(HCCR)in asphalt can effectively address waste tire pollution and provide sustainable environmental and economic advantages.However,the practical application of conventional ru...The addition of high-content crumb rubber(HCCR)in asphalt can effectively address waste tire pollution and provide sustainable environmental and economic advantages.However,the practical application of conventional rubberized binders is significantly limited by high viscosity and poor storage stability.To address these issues,researchers have pretreated crumb rubber(CR)with oil,but high-temperature performance remains insufficient.Therefore,this study aimed to optimize the viscosity,storage stability,and rheological properties of high-content crumb rubber-modified asphalt(HCCRMA)by varying the pretreatment levels of CR and incorporating various additives,including styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS),deoiled asphalt(DA),or recycled low-density polyethylene(RLDPE).In addition,CR was pretreated with waste cooking oil(WCO)at various ratios,pre-swelling temperatures,and times.The results show that DA exhibits excellent storage stability and lower viscosity compared with other modifiers in HCCRMA,and the 4%RLDPE with pretreated HCCR has the greatest high-temperature rutting resistance.The inclusion of RLDPE increases the stiffness and elasticity of the modified asphalt,which results in greater high-temperature performance.Additionally,the fluorescence microscopy(FM)test confirms that SBS exhibits better dispersion than other modifiers and forms a more homogeneous phase separation in the HCCRMA.All in all,this research achieved an optimal balance of storage stability and rheological properties in asphalt modified with pretreated HCCR and 6%SBS,which provides a valuable reference for performance improvement of HCCR-modified binders.展开更多
In recent years,the amount of waste generated during milling has increased dramatically,and improper disposal poses a significant environmental challenge.To mitigate environmental pollution and enhance the road perfor...In recent years,the amount of waste generated during milling has increased dramatically,and improper disposal poses a significant environmental challenge.To mitigate environmental pollution and enhance the road performance of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures(ECRM),this study employed recycled asphalt pavement(RAP)and reclaimed inorganic binder stabilized aggregate(RAI)as dual recycled materials for ECRM preparation.The blending ratios of reclaimed base and surface layer mixtures significantly influence ECRM's performance,with adjusted proportions substantially improving compressive strength and dynamic modulus.Firstly,three distinct proportioning options were developed for the recycled materials.Mix designs incorporating varying RAP/RAI ratios were used to determine the optimal mix parameters:moisture content,cement dosage,and emulsified asphalt content.Subsequently,comprehensive performance evaluations were conducted through high-temperature wheel tracking tests,freeze-thaw splitting tests,uniaxial compression tests,and dynamic modulus measurements to analyze the pavement characteristics of the three ECRM formulations.Experimental results demonstrate:Compared with ECRM with a blending ratio of RAP:RAI:new aggregate=30:50:20(Option 1),the dynamic stability,freeze-thaw splitting strength ratio,compressive strength,and compressive resilient modulus of ECRM under Option 3(RAP:RAI:new aggregate=50:30:20)decreased by 31.8%,5.2%,16.4%,and 13.1%,respectively.This indicates that increasing RAP content while reducing RAI proportion enhances the tensile strength of ECRM,yet adversely affects its high-temperature stability,moisture resistance,and compressive performance.This work not only addresses the challenge of jointly utilizing asphalt pavement waste and base waste,but also provides a cost-effective and sustainable method for the stable application of milling material resources in road engineering.展开更多

To explore the best preparation process for terminal blend(TB)composite-modified asphalt and to filter its formulation with excellent performance,this study evaluates the performance of TB composite modified asphalt b...To explore the best preparation process for terminal blend(TB)composite-modified asphalt and to filter its formulation with excellent performance,this study evaluates the performance of TB composite modified asphalt by physical property index,microscopic morphology,rheological testing,and infrared spectroscopy on multiple scales.The results show that the best preparation process for TB-modified asphalt is stirring at 260℃ for 4 h at 400 rpm,which significantly reduces the modification time of the asphalt.From a physical property viewpoint,the TB composite-modified asphalt sample with 5% styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS)+1% aromatics+0.1% sulfur exhibits high-comprehensive,high-and low-temperature properties.More-over,its crosslinked mesh structure comprises black rubber particles uniformly interwoven in the middle,which further enhances the performance of the asphalt and results in an excellent performance formulation.In addition,the sample with 5%SBS content has a higher G*value and smaller δ value than that with 3%SBS content,indicating that its high-temperature resistance is improved.The effect of adding 3%SBS content on the viscoelastic ratio is,to some extent,less than that caused by 20% rubber powder.展开更多
A comprehensive full-sieve-hole grading correction method was used to adjust aggregate gradings.The fatigue properties of recycled concrete aggregate(RCA)asphalt mixtures were investigated using an improved indirect t...A comprehensive full-sieve-hole grading correction method was used to adjust aggregate gradings.The fatigue properties of recycled concrete aggregate(RCA)asphalt mixtures were investigated using an improved indirect tensile fatigue test under temperature-humidity coupling based on 20-year meteorological data of Beijing,and the degeneration mechanism was further explored by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy.The experimental results indicate that replacing 5-20 mm coarse limestone aggregate(LA)with RCA at a 50% substitution volume can mitigate the impact of RCA variations on the asphalt mixture proportioning design.All RCA asphalt mixtures have lower initial fatigue properties than the LA asphalt mixture.However,under temperature-humidity coupling,the long-term fatigue property of an RCA asphalt mixture with a low proportion of recycled brick exceeds that of the LA asphalt mixture,and the fatigue life decline rate of the RCA asphalt mixture during 10-year service decreases by approximately 25%.This is due to the penetration of the asphalt mortar into the RCA through the pores and cracks on the RCA surface.It forms an interfacial transition zone composed of asphalt mortar and cement mortar and further reduces the mixture damage caused by the water and freeze-thaw conditions.展开更多

The rapid increase in traffic loads and frequencies has rendered conventional asphalt pavement inadequate to maintain its durability under tropical climates.This challenge has necessitated the exploration of new sourc...The rapid increase in traffic loads and frequencies has rendered conventional asphalt pavement inadequate to maintain its durability under tropical climates.This challenge has necessitated the exploration of new sources of modified asphalt with enhanced stiffness and superior performance at high temperatures.Natural rubber(NR)is a renewable biopolymer that has received growing interest as a modifier for asphalt binders.Cup lump rubber(CLR),a type of NR,is used to enhance asphalt properties and improve the performance of road pavements.This study evaluates the influence of wax-based surfactants(WS)on CLR-modified asphalt binder(CMB).The assessment focuses on changes in chemical characteristics,rheological behaviour,activation energy,and morphology.Four concentrations of WS(0.1%,0.15%,0.2%,and 0.25%)were incorporated into CMB.Analysis of CMB chemical changes showed that viscosity increased due to higher sulfoxide,carbonyl,and aromatic bond indices.These chemical modifications contributed to improved resistance of the binder to heat-induced deterioration.In both unaged and aged CMB samples,the incorporation of WS reduced the sulfoxide index of the binder.Rheological analysis indicated that CMB improved rutting resistance and anti-ageing performance,while WS further enhanced fatigue resistance.Activation energy analysis suggested that the combination of CMB with 0.15%WS produced the most favourable enhancement.Micrograph results showed that WS improved binder homogeneity and interconnectivity.In conclusion,the findings indicated that incorporating 0.15%WS into CMB enhanced the performance and durability of the asphalt pavement.展开更多

The ef...The reduction behaviors of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 during coal-based direct reduction have a decisive impact on the efficient utilization of high-chromium vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite concentrates. The effects of molar ratio of C to Fe n(C)/n(Fe) and temperature on the behaviors of vanadium and chromium during direct reduction and magnetic separation were investigated. The reduced samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning election microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) techniques. Experimental results indicate that the recoveries of vanadium and chromium rapidly increase from 10.0% and 9.6% to 45.3% and 74.3%, respectively, as the n(C)/n(Fe) increases from 0.8 to 1.4. At n(C)/n(Fe) of 0.8, the recoveries of vanadium and chromium are always lower than 10.0% in the whole temperature range of 1100-1250 °C. However, at n(C)/n(Fe) of 1.2, the recoveries of vanadium and chromium considerably increase from 17.8% and 33.8% to 42.4% and 76.0%, respectively, as the temperature increases from 1100 °C to 1250 °C. At n(C)/n(Fe) lower than 0.8, most of the FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 are not reduced to carbides because of the lack of carbonaceous reductants, and the temperature has little effect on the reduction behaviors of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3, resulting in very low recoveries of vanadium and chromium during magnetic separation. However, at higher n(C)/n(Fe), the reduction rates of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 increase significatly because of the excess amount of carbonaceous reductants. Moreover, higher temperatures largely induce the reduction of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 to carbides. The newly formed carbides are then dissolved in the γ(FCC) phase, and recovered accompanied with the metallic iron during magnetic separation.展开更多

After reduction, the nickel laterite ore obviously changes into two parts of Fe-Ni metallic particles and slag matrix. An obvious relationship is found between the reduction of iron magnesium olivine and its crystal chemical properties. The nickel and iron oxides are reduced to metallic by reductant, and the lattice of olivine is destroyed. The entire reduction process is comprised of oxide reduction and metallic phase growth.展开更多

A technique comprising coal-based direct reduction followed by magnetic separation was presented to recover iron and copper from copper slag flotation tailings.Optimal process parameters,such as reductant and additive...A technique comprising coal-based direct reduction followed by magnetic separation was presented to recover iron and copper from copper slag flotation tailings.Optimal process parameters,such as reductant and additive ratios,reduction temperature,and reduction time,were experimentally determined and found to be as follows:a limestone ratio of 25%,a bitumite ratio of 30%,and reduction roasting at 1473 Kfor 90 min.Under these conditions,copper-bearing iron powders(CIP)with an iron content of 90.11% and copper content of 0.86%,indicating iron and copper recoveries of87.25% and 83.44%respectively,were effectively obtained.Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy of the CIP revealed that some tiny copper particles were embedded in metal iron and some copper formed alloy with iron,which was difficult to achieve the separation of these two metals.Thus,the copper went into magnetic products by magnetic separation.Adding copper into the steel can produce weathering steel.Therefore,the CIP can be used as an inexpensive raw material for weathering steel.展开更多

The samples were characterized by N_2 adsorption, XRD, IR and DTG-DTA methods, andthe results show that the crystallization temperature and amount of added water play an importantrole in the formation of the zeolite structure. The 4A and P zeolites are the competitive phasepresent in the resulting product. However, NaY zeolites with a higher relative crystallinity,excluding impure crystals and the well hydrothermal stability, can be synthesized from coal-basedkaolin. These zeolites possess a larger surface area and a narrow pore size distribution, and thismeans that optimization of this process might result in a commercial route to synthesize NaYzeolites from coal-based kaolin.展开更多

The parameters were estimated ...The intrinsic kinetic models of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood type were investigated in terms of the reaction rates of CO hydrogenation and CO_2 hydrogenation in theform of reactant fugacity. The parameters were estimated by the Universal Global Optimization using the Marquardt method. Residual error distribution and statistic tests show thatthe intrinsic kinetic models are reliable and acceptable. The mathematic model of a combined converter formed by gas-cooled and water-cooled reactor was developed and thegas-cooled reactor and the water-cooled reactor were characterized with one-dimensionalmathematic model. The distributions of temperature and concentration in the catalytic bedof the gas-cooled reactor and the water-cooled reactor in a combined converter with ayield of 1.2 Mt/a were simulated. The parallel cross linking pore model was used to describe the transfer process of multi-component diffusion system in the catalyst. The calculated value computed by the internal diffusion efficiency factor calculation model established for methanol synthesis catalyst fit the experimental value very well.展开更多

文摘Phosphorus tends to migrate into metallic iron during the direct reduction of high-phosphorus oolitic iron ore,leading to undesirable phosphorus enrichment in metallic iron.However,the underlying reduction and migration mechanisms remain poorly understood.Phosphorus behavior during coal-based reduction was systematically investigated through theoretical modeling and experimental approaches.Thermodynamic analysis revealed that the carbon reduction of solid Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)to gaseous P_(2)requires temperatures exceeding 1400℃.Notably,this threshold significantly decreases to 1130.5℃in the presence of SiO_(2)and Al_(2)O_(3).Further investigations demonstrated that Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)co-reduces with Fe_(x)O_(γ)in the presence of SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-Fe_(x)O_(γ),forming Fe_(3)P(instead of gaseous P_(2))at a markedly lower temperature of 778.7℃.Mechanistic studies indicate that the inherent thermal stability of Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)inhibits the generation of reactive[P_(2)O_(5)].However,SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)coexistence destabilizes Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)while exponentially enhancing[P_(2)O_(5)]activity.This synergistic effect dramatically promotes the phosphorus mineral reduction.Characterization confirmed that Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)migrated into the slag phase(4FeO·Al_(2)O_(3)·3SiO_(2)·CaO·P_(2)O_(5)).Subsequently,the reactive P_(2)O_(5)in slag is reduced with metallic iron to form Fe_(3)P,which further dissolves into theα-Fe matrix through solid-state diffusion,ultimately generating Fe-P solid solutions.

文摘Coal-based soild wastes(CBSWs)are industrial byproducts that can be harmful to the environment.The exploitation and utilization of CBsWs offer societal advantages such as resource conservation,pollution reduction,and cost-effective production.However,environmentally sustainable management remains a worldwide challenge due to the substantial production volume and limited disposal capacity of CBSWs.The physicochemical properties and utilization of CBSWs are summarized,including fly ash,coal gangue and coal gasification slag.It also presents the current global applications status of CBSWs resources and examines market supply and demand.Subsequently,the paper provides an overview of studies on ways to utilise CBSWs,highlighting the primary avenues of CBSWs resource utilization which are mainly from the fields of chemical materials,metallurgy and agriculture.Furthermore,a comparative evaluation of the various methods for CBSWs resource recovery is conducted,outlining their respective advantages and disadvantages.The future development of CBSWs recycling processes is also discussed.The review concludes that while there is a growing need for attention in CBSWs recycling,its utilization will involve a combination of both large-scale treatment and refinement processes.The paper aims to offer references and insights for the effective utilization and environmental protection of CBSWs.Future direction will focus on the collaborative utilization of CBSWs,emphasizing on the combination of large-scale and high-value utilization.In addition,there is a need to establish a comprehensive database based on on-site production practices,explore on-site solutions to reduce transportation costs,and improve physicochemical properties during the production process.

文摘Aiming at mitigating the high risks associated with conventional explosive blasting,this study developed a safe directional fracturing technique,i.e.instantaneous expansion with a single fracture(IESF),using a coal-based solid waste expanding agent.First,the mechanism of directional fracturing blasting by the IESF was analyzed,and the criterion of directional crack initiation was established.On this basis,laboratory experiments and numerical simulations were conducted to systematically evaluate the directional fracturing blasting performance of the IESF.The results indicate that the IESF presents an excellent directional fracturing effect,with average surface undulation differences ranging from 8.1 mm to 22.7 mm on the fracture surfaces.Moreover,during concrete fracturing tests,the stresses and strains in the fracturing direction are measured to be 2.16-3.71 times and 8 times larger than those in the nonfracturing direction,respectively.Finally,the IESF technique was implemented for no-pillar mining with gob-side entry retaining through roof cutting and pressure relief in an underground coal mine.The IESF technique effectively created directional cracks in the roof without causing severe roadway deformation,achieving an average cutting rate and maximum roadway deformation of 94%and 197 mm,respectively.These on-site test results verified its excellent directional rock fracturing performance.The IESF technique,which is safe,efficient,and green,has considerable application prospects in the field of rock mechanics and engineering.

文摘With the continuous development of various industries and the increasing use of electricity and fuel,the emission of large amounts of greenhouse gases has seriously affected the ecosystem.Bulk coal is often used as a fuel for metallurgy and power generation,but the harmful gases produced by its combustion cause serious pollution to the environment.To reduce the emission of harmful gases,we found that biomass briquette has the characteristics of low heavy metal content and less pollutant release when burned.In this paper,the preparation and influencing factors of biomass briquette,the characteristics of different types of biomass briquette and the pollution characteristics of biomass briquette are reviewed.The potential pollution during the preparation and combustion of biomass briquette was also discussed from the perspective of life cycle assessment.Compared with bulk coal,biomass briquette emits fewer toxic gases during preparation and combustion,such as NO_(x)and SO_(2).Secondly,the preparation of biomass briquette can also reduce the burden of water resources and soil.To that end,we explore the hazards caused by the preparation and combustion of biomass briquette,analyze its impact on the environment and human body,and summarize the sulfur and nitrogen retention capacity of biomass briquette to achieve the purpose of reducing harmful gas emissions.The results show that biomass briquette can be used as clean coal-based energy instead of traditional energy because of its low harmful substance content.The development and application prospect of biomass briquette under the framework of sustainable development are discussed.

文摘The isothermal oxidation kinetics of vanadium–titanium magnetite(VTM)pellets prepared with 3Co-binder(coal-based colloidal composite binder)and F-binder(pulverized Funa binder)are compared.The oxidation process was analyzed using the first-order irreversible reaction,following the shrinking unreacted nucleus model.The results demonstrate that VTM pellets prepared with 3Co-binder exhibit a faster oxidation rate than those with F-binder across the temperatures ranging from 1073 to 1473 K.In both cases,the oxidation process was controlled by an interfacial chemical reaction during the pre-oxidation stage and by internal diffusion during the mid-oxidation stage.The type of binder did not influence the primary oxidation control mechanism of the VTM pellets.However,the apparent rate constants in the pre-oxidation stage and the internal diffusion coefficients in the mid-oxidation stage were higher for pellets with 3Co-binder compared to those with F-binder.The apparent activation energies for the 3Co-binder pellets were similar to those of bentonite,indicating favorable kinetic conditions without negative impacts on the oxidation process.Nonetheless,it is important to note that pellets with F-binder required a longer oxidation time than those with 3Co-binder.

文摘The addition of high-content crumb rubber(HCCR)in asphalt can effectively address waste tire pollution and provide sustainable environmental and economic advantages.However,the practical application of conventional rubberized binders is significantly limited by high viscosity and poor storage stability.To address these issues,researchers have pretreated crumb rubber(CR)with oil,but high-temperature performance remains insufficient.Therefore,this study aimed to optimize the viscosity,storage stability,and rheological properties of high-content crumb rubber-modified asphalt(HCCRMA)by varying the pretreatment levels of CR and incorporating various additives,including styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS),deoiled asphalt(DA),or recycled low-density polyethylene(RLDPE).In addition,CR was pretreated with waste cooking oil(WCO)at various ratios,pre-swelling temperatures,and times.The results show that DA exhibits excellent storage stability and lower viscosity compared with other modifiers in HCCRMA,and the 4%RLDPE with pretreated HCCR has the greatest high-temperature rutting resistance.The inclusion of RLDPE increases the stiffness and elasticity of the modified asphalt,which results in greater high-temperature performance.Additionally,the fluorescence microscopy(FM)test confirms that SBS exhibits better dispersion than other modifiers and forms a more homogeneous phase separation in the HCCRMA.All in all,this research achieved an optimal balance of storage stability and rheological properties in asphalt modified with pretreated HCCR and 6%SBS,which provides a valuable reference for performance improvement of HCCR-modified binders.

文摘In recent years,the amount of waste generated during milling has increased dramatically,and improper disposal poses a significant environmental challenge.To mitigate environmental pollution and enhance the road performance of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures(ECRM),this study employed recycled asphalt pavement(RAP)and reclaimed inorganic binder stabilized aggregate(RAI)as dual recycled materials for ECRM preparation.The blending ratios of reclaimed base and surface layer mixtures significantly influence ECRM's performance,with adjusted proportions substantially improving compressive strength and dynamic modulus.Firstly,three distinct proportioning options were developed for the recycled materials.Mix designs incorporating varying RAP/RAI ratios were used to determine the optimal mix parameters:moisture content,cement dosage,and emulsified asphalt content.Subsequently,comprehensive performance evaluations were conducted through high-temperature wheel tracking tests,freeze-thaw splitting tests,uniaxial compression tests,and dynamic modulus measurements to analyze the pavement characteristics of the three ECRM formulations.Experimental results demonstrate:Compared with ECRM with a blending ratio of RAP:RAI:new aggregate=30:50:20(Option 1),the dynamic stability,freeze-thaw splitting strength ratio,compressive strength,and compressive resilient modulus of ECRM under Option 3(RAP:RAI:new aggregate=50:30:20)decreased by 31.8%,5.2%,16.4%,and 13.1%,respectively.This indicates that increasing RAP content while reducing RAI proportion enhances the tensile strength of ECRM,yet adversely affects its high-temperature stability,moisture resistance,and compressive performance.This work not only addresses the challenge of jointly utilizing asphalt pavement waste and base waste,but also provides a cost-effective and sustainable method for the stable application of milling material resources in road engineering.

文摘Dynamic thermal mechanical analysis was used to evaluate the viscoelasticity of asphalt.The parameters included the energy storage modulus(E),the loss modulus(E'),and the loss tangent(tanδ).The impact of three kinds of particles containing CaCO_(3)with different size and structure on the mechanical properties was also measured.The addition of limestone increases the glass transition temperature,while nanoCaCO_(3)@SiO_(2)decreases the glass transition temperature.Nano-CaCO_(3)has a negligible effect on the glass transition temperature.The particle size of the limestone is 0.075 mm,which is a material at the micrometer level.During the heating process,it hinders the molecular movement and makes the material harder.Thus the glass transition temperature is relatively high.

文摘In situ density and moisture content of asphalt pavement are essential controlling parameters that require accurate measurement for quality control and quality assurance purposes.The ground-penetrating radar(GPR)technique could provide non-destructive,non-contact,and full-coverage estimations of pavement density and moisture content.However,the technical readiness and drawbacks,including prediction models,signal processing algorithms,and testing hardware,remain unclear for agencies and construction practitioners,impeding large-scale implementations.This paper aims to provide a thorough review of the theoretical background and current practices of using GPR for non-destructive measurements of asphalt pavement density and moisture content during construction,thereby allowing for real-time correction of over-or under-compaction on site.The principles and applications of GPR-based density and moisture content prediction models were comprehensively summarized.Their strengths and limitations were discussed.Cutting-edge GPR equipment suitable for such applications was introduced,including their system components,application scenarios,and inherent limitations.Factors affecting prediction accuracy were analyzed.Advanced signal processing algorithms were discussed in the end,along with the in-place calibration procedure for aggregate dielectric constants.The reviewed technique could be a guiding tool for real-time monitoring of asphalt pavement density and moisture content using GPR,offering practical insights for future development and standardized deployment in construction quality management.

文摘To explore the best preparation process for terminal blend(TB)composite-modified asphalt and to filter its formulation with excellent performance,this study evaluates the performance of TB composite modified asphalt by physical property index,microscopic morphology,rheological testing,and infrared spectroscopy on multiple scales.The results show that the best preparation process for TB-modified asphalt is stirring at 260℃ for 4 h at 400 rpm,which significantly reduces the modification time of the asphalt.From a physical property viewpoint,the TB composite-modified asphalt sample with 5% styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS)+1% aromatics+0.1% sulfur exhibits high-comprehensive,high-and low-temperature properties.More-over,its crosslinked mesh structure comprises black rubber particles uniformly interwoven in the middle,which further enhances the performance of the asphalt and results in an excellent performance formulation.In addition,the sample with 5%SBS content has a higher G*value and smaller δ value than that with 3%SBS content,indicating that its high-temperature resistance is improved.The effect of adding 3%SBS content on the viscoelastic ratio is,to some extent,less than that caused by 20% rubber powder.

文摘A comprehensive full-sieve-hole grading correction method was used to adjust aggregate gradings.The fatigue properties of recycled concrete aggregate(RCA)asphalt mixtures were investigated using an improved indirect tensile fatigue test under temperature-humidity coupling based on 20-year meteorological data of Beijing,and the degeneration mechanism was further explored by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy.The experimental results indicate that replacing 5-20 mm coarse limestone aggregate(LA)with RCA at a 50% substitution volume can mitigate the impact of RCA variations on the asphalt mixture proportioning design.All RCA asphalt mixtures have lower initial fatigue properties than the LA asphalt mixture.However,under temperature-humidity coupling,the long-term fatigue property of an RCA asphalt mixture with a low proportion of recycled brick exceeds that of the LA asphalt mixture,and the fatigue life decline rate of the RCA asphalt mixture during 10-year service decreases by approximately 25%.This is due to the penetration of the asphalt mortar into the RCA through the pores and cracks on the RCA surface.It forms an interfacial transition zone composed of asphalt mortar and cement mortar and further reduces the mixture damage caused by the water and freeze-thaw conditions.

文摘Long-life pavement has been introduced to address the urgent need for durable and reliable transportation infrastructure.This review overviews the development of aggregates for long-life pavements and summarizes future research directions.The review indicates that natural aggregates,being non-renewable resources,are steadily declining in availability and may need to meet future demands.Construction solid waste aggregates are rapidly developing,with fine separation of reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP)and reinforcement of cementbased recycled aggregates serving as key strategies to enhance their application.Industry solid waste aggregates possess properties suitable for long-life pavements and offer additional functionalities such as cooling,conductivity,and reflectivity,demonstrating significant development potential.While artificial aggregates exhibit superior performance,their large-scale application requires consideration of economic and environmental impacts.Current aggregate evaluation methods need to address the needs of long-life pavements.Aggregate performance requirements should be graded based on mechanical stress and temperature distribution,with corresponding evaluation methods and indices developed.Evaluating the mechanical properties of aggregates should align more closely with actual stress states.Tests such as triaxial,repeated load,and wheel abrasion polishing are better suited for assessing the strength and durability of long-life pavement aggregates.Similarly,evaluating aggregates'physicochemical properties should be based on studies correlating these properties with road performance,with proposed evaluation criteria.Morphological characteristics of aggregates significantly influence asphalt mixture performance,and efficient evaluation of their profile,angularity,and texture will be a key focus of future research.

文摘The rapid increase in traffic loads and frequencies has rendered conventional asphalt pavement inadequate to maintain its durability under tropical climates.This challenge has necessitated the exploration of new sources of modified asphalt with enhanced stiffness and superior performance at high temperatures.Natural rubber(NR)is a renewable biopolymer that has received growing interest as a modifier for asphalt binders.Cup lump rubber(CLR),a type of NR,is used to enhance asphalt properties and improve the performance of road pavements.This study evaluates the influence of wax-based surfactants(WS)on CLR-modified asphalt binder(CMB).The assessment focuses on changes in chemical characteristics,rheological behaviour,activation energy,and morphology.Four concentrations of WS(0.1%,0.15%,0.2%,and 0.25%)were incorporated into CMB.Analysis of CMB chemical changes showed that viscosity increased due to higher sulfoxide,carbonyl,and aromatic bond indices.These chemical modifications contributed to improved resistance of the binder to heat-induced deterioration.In both unaged and aged CMB samples,the incorporation of WS reduced the sulfoxide index of the binder.Rheological analysis indicated that CMB improved rutting resistance and anti-ageing performance,while WS further enhanced fatigue resistance.Activation energy analysis suggested that the combination of CMB with 0.15%WS produced the most favourable enhancement.Micrograph results showed that WS improved binder homogeneity and interconnectivity.In conclusion,the findings indicated that incorporating 0.15%WS into CMB enhanced the performance and durability of the asphalt pavement.

文摘The reduction behaviors of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 during coal-based direct reduction have a decisive impact on the efficient utilization of high-chromium vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite concentrates. The effects of molar ratio of C to Fe n(C)/n(Fe) and temperature on the behaviors of vanadium and chromium during direct reduction and magnetic separation were investigated. The reduced samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning election microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) techniques. Experimental results indicate that the recoveries of vanadium and chromium rapidly increase from 10.0% and 9.6% to 45.3% and 74.3%, respectively, as the n(C)/n(Fe) increases from 0.8 to 1.4. At n(C)/n(Fe) of 0.8, the recoveries of vanadium and chromium are always lower than 10.0% in the whole temperature range of 1100-1250 °C. However, at n(C)/n(Fe) of 1.2, the recoveries of vanadium and chromium considerably increase from 17.8% and 33.8% to 42.4% and 76.0%, respectively, as the temperature increases from 1100 °C to 1250 °C. At n(C)/n(Fe) lower than 0.8, most of the FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 are not reduced to carbides because of the lack of carbonaceous reductants, and the temperature has little effect on the reduction behaviors of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3, resulting in very low recoveries of vanadium and chromium during magnetic separation. However, at higher n(C)/n(Fe), the reduction rates of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 increase significatly because of the excess amount of carbonaceous reductants. Moreover, higher temperatures largely induce the reduction of FeO·V2O3 and FeO·Cr2O3 to carbides. The newly formed carbides are then dissolved in the γ(FCC) phase, and recovered accompanied with the metallic iron during magnetic separation.

文摘A low-grade nickel laterite ore was reduced at different reduction temperatures. The morphology of metallic particles was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Experimental results indicate that the metallic nickel and iron gradually assemble and grow into larger spherical particles with increasing temperature and prolonging time. After reduction, the nickel laterite ore obviously changes into two parts of Fe-Ni metallic particles and slag matrix. An obvious relationship is found between the reduction of iron magnesium olivine and its crystal chemical properties. The nickel and iron oxides are reduced to metallic by reductant, and the lattice of olivine is destroyed. The entire reduction process is comprised of oxide reduction and metallic phase growth.

文摘Zeolite derived from coal-based solid wastes(coal gangue and coal fly ash)can overcome the environmental problems caused by coal-based solid wastes and achieve valuable utilization.In this paper,the physicochemical properties of coal gangue and coal fly ash are introduced.The mechanism and application characteristics of the pretreatment processes for zeolite synthesis from coal-based solid wastes are also introduced.The synthesis processes of coal-based solid waste zeolite and their advantages and disadvantages are summarized.Furthermore,the application characteristics of various coal-based solid waste zeolites and their common application fields are illustrated.Finally,we propose an alkaline fusion-assisted supercritical hydrothermal crystallization as an efficient method for synthesizing coal-based solid waste zeolites.In addition,more attention should be given to the recycling of alkaline waste liquid and the application of coal-based solid waste zeolites in the field of volatile organic compound adsorption removal.

文摘To understand the migration mechanisms of phosphorus(P)during coal-based reduction,a high-phosphorus oolitic iron ore was reduced by coal under various experimental conditions.The migration characteristics and kinetics of P were investigated by a field-emission electron probe microanalyzer(FE-EPMA)and using the basic principle of solid phase mass transfer,respectively.Experimental results showed that the P transferred from the slag to the metallic phase during reduction,and the migration process could be divided into three stages:phosphorus diffusing from the slag to the metallic interface,the formation of Fe P compounds at the slag metal interface and P diffusing from the slag metal interface to the metallic interior.The reduction time and temperature significantly influenced the phosphorus content of the metallic and slag phases.The P content of the metallic phase increased with increasing reduction time and temperature,while that of the slag phase gradually decreased.The P diffusion constant and activation energy were determined and a migration kinetics model of P in coal-based reduction was proposed.P diffusion in the metallic phase was the controlling step of the P migration.

文摘A technique comprising coal-based direct reduction followed by magnetic separation was presented to recover iron and copper from copper slag flotation tailings.Optimal process parameters,such as reductant and additive ratios,reduction temperature,and reduction time,were experimentally determined and found to be as follows:a limestone ratio of 25%,a bitumite ratio of 30%,and reduction roasting at 1473 Kfor 90 min.Under these conditions,copper-bearing iron powders(CIP)with an iron content of 90.11% and copper content of 0.86%,indicating iron and copper recoveries of87.25% and 83.44%respectively,were effectively obtained.Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy of the CIP revealed that some tiny copper particles were embedded in metal iron and some copper formed alloy with iron,which was difficult to achieve the separation of these two metals.Thus,the copper went into magnetic products by magnetic separation.Adding copper into the steel can produce weathering steel.Therefore,the CIP can be used as an inexpensive raw material for weathering steel.
文摘NaY zeolites were in-situ synthesized from coal-based kaolin via thehydrothermal method. The effects of various factors on the structure of the samples were extensivelyinvestigated. The samples were characterized by N_2 adsorption, XRD, IR and DTG-DTA methods, andthe results show that the crystallization temperature and amount of added water play an importantrole in the formation of the zeolite structure. The 4A and P zeolites are the competitive phasepresent in the resulting product. However, NaY zeolites with a higher relative crystallinity,excluding impure crystals and the well hydrothermal stability, can be synthesized from coal-basedkaolin. These zeolites possess a larger surface area and a narrow pore size distribution, and thismeans that optimization of this process might result in a commercial route to synthesize NaYzeolites from coal-based kaolin.

文摘The intrinsic kinetic models of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood type were investigated in terms of the reaction rates of CO hydrogenation and CO_2 hydrogenation in theform of reactant fugacity. The parameters were estimated by the Universal Global Optimization using the Marquardt method. Residual error distribution and statistic tests show thatthe intrinsic kinetic models are reliable and acceptable. The mathematic model of a combined converter formed by gas-cooled and water-cooled reactor was developed and thegas-cooled reactor and the water-cooled reactor were characterized with one-dimensionalmathematic model. The distributions of temperature and concentration in the catalytic bedof the gas-cooled reactor and the water-cooled reactor in a combined converter with ayield of 1.2 Mt/a were simulated. The parallel cross linking pore model was used to describe the transfer process of multi-component diffusion system in the catalyst. The calculated value computed by the internal diffusion efficiency factor calculation model established for methanol synthesis catalyst fit the experimental value very well.
