In this paper, the propose system aims to automatically classify the white blood cells (leukocytes) on a given microscopic image. The classifications of leukocytes are performed based on the combination of color and texture features of the blood cell images. The developed system classifies the leukocytes in one of the five categories (neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes). In the preprocessing stage, the system starts with converting the microscopic images from Red Green Blue (RGB) color space to Hue Saturation Value (HSV) color space. Next, the system splits the Hue and Saturation features from the Value feature. For both Hue and Saturation features, the system processes their color information using the Feature Selection method and the Window Cropping method;while the Value feature is processed by its texture information using the Co-occurrence matrix method. The final recognition stage is performed using the Euclidean distance method. The combination of the Feature Selection and Co-occurrence Matrix methods gives the best overall recognition accuracies for classifying leukocyte images.展开更多

Because most of their larvae are pests, this research is not only meaningful for the popularization of science but also important to the agricultural production and the environment. Texture as a notable feature is widely used in digital image recognition technology; for describing the texture, an extremely effective method, graylevel co-occurrence matrix(GLCM), has been proposed and used in automatic identification systems. However, according to most of the existing works, GLCM is computed by the whole image, which likely misses some important features in local areas. To solve this problem, this paper presents a new method based on the GLCM features extruded from three image blocks, and a weight-based k-nearest neighbor(KNN) search algorithm used for classifier design. With this method, a butterfly classification system works on ten butterfly species which are hard to identify by shape features. The final identification accuracy is 98%.展开更多

The diagnosis process has been done by visual interpretation of experienced pathologists. However, it is difficult to separate the favor benign from borderline types. Thus, this paper presents a classification approach based on 3D nuclei model to classify favor benign and borderline types of follicular thyroid adenoma (FTA) in cytological specimens. The proposed method utilized 3D gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and random forest classifier. It was applied to 22 data sets of FN images. Furthermore, the use of 3D GLCM was compared with 2D GLCM to evaluate the classification results. From experimental results, the proposed system achieved 95.45% of the classification. The governing equations of free vibration of a non-prismatic Timoshenko beam under an axially conservative force resting on visco-Pasternak foundations are transformed into ordinary diff erential equations with variable coeffi cients in light of the bending rotation angle and transverse displacement. All the natural frequencies orders together with the corresponding mode shapes of the beam are calculated at the same time, and a good convergence and accuracy of the proposed method is verifi ed through two numerical examples. The infl uences of foundation mechanical characteristics together with rotary inertia and shear deformation on natural frequencies of the beam with diff erent taper ratios are analyzed. This paper presents a new scenario called virtual cutting in the context of the transfer matrix method of linear multibody systems closed- loop topology for computing the free vibration characteristics of elastically coupled flexible launch vehicle boosters. In this approach, the coupled system is idealized as a triple-beam system-like structure coupled by linear translational springs, where a non-uniform free-free Euler-Bemoulli beam is used. A large thrust-to-weight ratio leads to large axial accelera- tions that result in an axial inertia load distribution from nose to tail. Consequently, it causes the development of significant compressive forces along the length of the launch vehicle. Therefore, it is important to take into account this effect in the transverse vibration model. This scenario does not need the global dynamics equations of a system, and it has high computational efficiency and low memory requirements. The validity of the presented scenario is achieved through com- parison to other approaches published in the literature.展开更多

Formulations and numerical example of a rigid- flexible-body three pendulums system moving in space are given to validate the method. Using the new method to study the dynamics of multi-rigid-flexible-body system mov- ing in space, the global dynamics equations of system are not needed, the orders of involved matrices of the system are very low and the computational speed is high, irrespec- tive of the size of the system. The new method is simple, straightforward, practical, and provides a powerful tool for multi-rigid-flexible-body system dynamics.展开更多

The effects of carbon and ionomer contents on the electrode micro-structure and fuel cell performance are investigated by physical characterization and single cell testing. The Pt nanowires are gradient distributed across the cathode thickness, and more Pt exists near the membrane. Both the carbon and ionomer contents can affect the Pt nanowires distribution and aggregation. In addition, the carbon loading dominates the transport distance of gas and proton, and the ionomer content affects the triple phase boundaries and porosity in the cathode. The optimal structure of Pt nanowire cathode is obtained at 0.10 mg·cm^-2 carbon loading and 10 wt% ionomer.展开更多

The infl uences of foundation mechanical characteristics together with rotary inertia and shear deformation on natural frequencies of the beam with diff erent taper ratios are analyzed. A comprehensive parametric numerical study is carried out emphasizing the primary parameters that describe the dynamic property of the beam.

文摘Cantilever casting concrete arch bridge using form traveller has a broad application prospect. However,it is difficult to obtain reasonable initial cable force in construction stage. In this study, stress balance and influence matrix methods were developed to determine the initial cable force of cantilever casting concrete arch bridge. The stress balance equation and influence matrix of arch rib critical section were established, and the buckle cable force range was determined by the allowable stress of arch rib critical section. Then a group of buckle cable forces were selected and substituted into the stress balance equation, and the reasonable initial buckle cable force was determined through iteration.Based on the principle of force balance, the initial anchor cable force was determined. In an engineering application example,it is shown that the stress balance and influence matrix methods for the determination of initial cable force are feasible and reliable. The initial cable forces of arch rib segments only need to be adjusted once in the corresponding construction process, which improves the working efficiency and reduces the construction risk.It is found that the methods have great advantages for determining initial cable force in cantilever casting construction process of concrete arch bridge.

文摘The first order differential matrix equations of the host shell and constrained layer for a sandwich rotational shell are derived based on the thin shell theory.Employing the layer wise principle and first order shear deformation theory, only considering the shearing deformation of the viscoelastic layer, the integrated first order differential matrix equation of a passive constrained layer damping rotational shell is established by combining with the normal equilibrium equation of the viscoelastic layer.A highly precise transfer matrix method is developed by extended homogeneous capacity precision integration technology. The numerical results show that present method is accurate and effective.

文摘The analysis of natural vibration characteristics has become one of important steps of the manufacture and dynamic design in the aerospace industry. The validity of the presented scenario is achieved through com- parison to other approaches published in the literature.

文摘In this paper, by defining new state vectors and developing new transfer matrices of various elements mov- ing in space, the discrete time transfer matrix method of multi-rigid-flexible-body system is expanded to study the dynamics of multibody system with flexible beams moving in space. The new method is simple, straightforward, practical, and provides a powerful tool for multi-rigid-flexible-body system dynamics.
文摘High performance cathode for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell was prepared by depositing Pt nanowires in a carbon matrix coated on a substrate, and using decal transfer method to fabricate the membrane electrode assembly. The optimal structure of Pt nanowire cathode is obtained at 0.10 mg·cm^-2 carbon loading and 10 wt% ionomer.
