A variable structur...The mathematical model of a transport aircraft would be subjected to a sudden change when heavy cargo is dropped off in airdropping, which exerts serious influences upon the safety of the aircraft. A variable structure controller is specially designed for handling the airdrop process. The nonlinear system is linearized by input-output feedback linearization using differential geometry theories. On this basis, an inner loop system for velocity and attitude tracking control is designed by using the exponentially approaching rule of the variable structure theory. The whole flight control system is integrated with the outer loop flight altitude control. Digital simulation evidences the applicability of the system to potentially catastrophic course in airdropping heavy cargo and provides robustness against system parameter perturbation.展开更多
An analysis was conducted on the evolutional process of a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) and associated heavy rainfall in the Dabie Mountain area on 21-22 June 2008,as well as their structural characteristics in ...An analysis was conducted on the evolutional process of a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) and associated heavy rainfall in the Dabie Mountain area on 21-22 June 2008,as well as their structural characteristics in different stages,by using the mesoscale reanalysis data with 3 km and 1 h resolution generated by the Local Analysis and Prediction System (LAPS) in the Southern China Heavy Rainfall Experiment.The results showed that the latent heat released by convection in the midtroposphere was the main energy source for the development of a low-level vortex.There was a positive feedback interaction between the convection and the vortex,and the evolution of the MCV was closely related to the strength of the positive interaction.The most typical characteristics of the thermal structure in different stages were that,there was a relatively thin diabatic heating layer in the midtroposphere in the formative stage;the thickness of diabatic heating layer significantly increased in the mature stage;and it almost disappeared in the decay stage.The characteristics of the dynamic structure were that,in the formative stage,there was no anticyclonic circulation at the high level;in the mature stage,an anticyclonic circulation with strong divergence was formed at the high level;in the decay stage,the anticyclonic circulation was damaged and the high-level atmosphere was in a disordered state of turbulence.Finally,the structural schematics of the MCV in the formative and mature stage were established respectively.展开更多

The uncertainties of structural stiffness, damping and mass parameters are assumed to be norm-bounded. The proposed control approach is formulated within the framework of linear matrix inequalities, for which existing convex optimization techniques, such as the LM1 toolbox in MATLAB, can be used effectively and conveniently. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed robust H∞ strategy, a six-story building was subjected both to the 1940 E1 Centro earthquake record and to a suddenly applied Kanai-Tajimi filtered white noise random excitation. The results show that the proposed robust H∞ controller provides satisfactory results with or without variation of the structural stiffness, damping and mass parameters.展开更多

So, a reliability analysis method used to deal with DICLFL considering shutdown correlation is provided based on GO methodology.Firstly, a new operator, which is used to describe DICLFL considering shutdown correlation,whose number is 1,is created and named as Type 9C operator. And then,the formulas of type 9C operator are derived based on Markov process theory. Finally,the new method presented in this paper is adopted to conduct the reliability analysis of an electro-hydraulic servo speed control system. The analysis result is compared with those of Monte Carlo simulation and fault tree analysis( FTA). The comparison results show that this new reliability analysis method based on GO methodology is feasible and meaningful for reliability analysis of repairable systems with DICLFL considering shutdown correlation.Meantime,it will be useful for more other applications.展开更多

The cont...This paper presented a hybrid control scheme to vibration reduction of flexible spacecraft during rotational maneuver by using variable structure output feedback control (VSOFC) and piezoelectric materials. The control configuration included the attitude controller based on VSOFC method and vibration attenuator designed by constant-gain negative velocity feedback control. The attitude controller consisted of a linear feedback term and a discontinuous feedback term. With the presence of this attitude controller, an additional flexible control system acting on the flexible parts can be designed for vibration control. Compared with conventional proportional-derivative (PD) control, the developed control scheme guarantees not only the stability of the closed-loop system, but also yields better performance and robustness in the presence of parametric uncertainties and externai disturbance. Simulation results are presented for the spacecraft model to show the effectiveness of the proposed control techniques.展开更多

Quantum cascade lasers(QCLs) have broad application potentials in infrared countermeasure system,free-space optical communication and trace gas detection.Compared with traditional Fabry-Pérot(FP) cavity and exter...Quantum cascade lasers(QCLs) have broad application potentials in infrared countermeasure system,free-space optical communication and trace gas detection.Compared with traditional Fabry-Pérot(FP) cavity and external cavity,distributed feedback quantum cascade lasers(DFB-QCLs) can obtain narrower laser linewidth and higher integration.In this paper,the structure design,numerical simulation and optimization of the Bragg grating of DFB-QCLs are carried out to obtain the transmission spectrum with central wavelength at 4.6 μm.We analyze the relationship among the structure parameters,the central wavelength shift and transmission efficiency using coupled-wave theory and finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method.It is shown that the increase in the number of grating periods enhances the capabilities of mode selectivity,while the grating length of a single period adjustment directly determines the Bragg wavelength.Additionally,variations in etching depth and duty cycle lead to blue and red shifts in the central wavelength,respectively.Based on the numerical simulation results,the optimized design parameters for the upper buffer layer and the upper cladding grating are proposed,which gives an optional scheme for component fabrication and performance improvement in the future.展开更多

As the competition from companies in low cost countries increases,the need for more automated production which reduces labour cost while improving product quality is required.A new rotary compression bending set-up wi...As the competition from companies in low cost countries increases,the need for more automated production which reduces labour cost while improving product quality is required.A new rotary compression bending set-up with automated closed-loop feedback control is thus being developed.By transferring in-process measurement data into an algorithm for predicting springback and bend angle prior to the unloading sequence,the dimensional accuracy is improved.This work focuses on the development of this steering model.Since the method used does not increase cycle time,it is attractive for high-volume industrial applications.More than 150 bending tests of AA6060 extrusions were conducted to determine the capability of the technology.The results show that by activating the automated closed-loop feedback system,the dimensional accuracy of the bent parts is more than three times better than that obtained by traditional compression bending.Since the steering model permits the direct use of additional process data,such as instant wall thickness and cross sectional distortions,it is believed that extension of the measurement capabilities would improve the accuracy of the methodology even further.展开更多

Since a feedback channel is bandwidth-limited, we present a method of quantizing transmit-weight vectors. However, in practice, there is an undesirable but non-negligible effect, namely the asymmetric interference, that makes the assumptions no longer valid. In this paper, a simple closed-loop feedback method of compensating interference asymmetry in TDD multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is proposed. The system makes the estimated interference at transmit-side be able to track the instantaneous receive-side interference dynamically. The proposed method maintains constant frame error rate (FER) by adopting adaptive modulation coding (AMC) and power loading. Then the It6 stochastic differential equations of the system are derived based on the stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems and the stationary solution to the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov (FPK) equation associated with the It6 equations is obtained. The performance index in terms of the mean system energy and mean square control force is established and the optimal control force is obtained by minimizing the performance index. Finally, the numerical results for a three-story building structure model under E1 Centro, Hachinohe, Northridge and Kobe earthquake excitations are given to illustrate the application and the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

Therefore, it is very important to develop related theories for structural robustness.This paper presents a methodology to quantitatively assess the structural robustness from the topological point of view. In the proposed method, the structural failure is viewed as a feedback process. The transformations between the damage input and failure output form a closed-loop. The decisive factor of the operation of such a closed-loop is thought as the structural topology. Furthermore, the damage input and the failure output of the structure are measured by the uncertain disturbance and the change of the topology, respectively. After the sensitivity of the structural topology to the uncertain disturbance is studied, the transfer matrix is discovered to indicate the rationality of the topological relationship. The importance of each loading path, the structural robustness and the most vulnerable part of the system can be found concisely in accordance with this matrix.展开更多
Pathological basal ganglia oscillations are associated with the hypokinetic motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.In this paper,a memoryless feedback control strategy is proposed to suppress pathological oscillations...Pathological basal ganglia oscillations are associated with the hypokinetic motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.In this paper,a memoryless feedback control strategy is proposed to suppress pathological oscillations in the basal ganglia.In the most of closed-loop control strategies,the excitatory subthalamic nucleus populations are both monitored and stimulated targets,neglecting the important contribution of the external globus pallidus populations in suppressing pathological oscillations.To this end,we transform the original model into a time-delay system with a lower-triangular structure,and construct a memoryless state feedback controller utilizing the gain scaling method.It is proved by the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional method that all the signals of the resulting closed-loop system are bounded,and the system states converge to an adjustable region of the origin.In addition,the input delay in stimulating the target is considered and a corresponding controller is designed to achieve convergence of the states in the resulting closed-loop system with both state delays and input delay.Moreover,simulation tests are conducted to explore the performance of the control strategy.This paper further explores the intrinsic dynamics in the neural system,and provides an effective strategy for closed-loop deep brain stimulation control.展开更多

The attitude controller consisted of a linear feedback term and a discontinuous feedback term. With the presence of this attitude controller, an additional flexible control system acting on the flexible parts can be designed for vibration control. Compared with conventional proportional-derivative (PD) control, the developed control scheme guarantees not only the stability of the closed-loop system, but also yields better performance and robustness in the presence of parametric uncertainties and externai disturbance. Simulation results are presented for the spacecraft model to show the effectiveness of the proposed control techniques.

文摘This paper proposes a separated trajectory tracking controller for fishing ships at sea state level 6 to solve the trajectory tracking problem of a fishing ship in a 6-level sea state,and to adapt to different working environments and safety requirements.The nonlinear feedback method is used to improve the closed-loop gain shaping algorithm.By introducing the sine function,the problem of excessive control energy of the system can be effectively solved.Moreover,an integral separation design is used to solve the influence of the integral term in conventional PID controllers on the transient performance of the system.In this paper,a common 32.98 m large fiberglass reinforced plastic(FRP)trawler is adopted for simulation research at the winds scale of Beaufort No.7.The results show that the track error is smaller than 3.5 m.The method is safe,feasible,concise and effective and has popularization value in the direction of fishing ship trajectory tracking control.This method can be used to improve the level of informatization and intelligence of fishing ships.

文摘Quantum cascade lasers(QCLs) have broad application potentials in infrared countermeasure system,free-space optical communication and trace gas detection.Compared with traditional Fabry-Pérot(FP) cavity and external cavity,distributed feedback quantum cascade lasers(DFB-QCLs) can obtain narrower laser linewidth and higher integration.In this paper,the structure design,numerical simulation and optimization of the Bragg grating of DFB-QCLs are carried out to obtain the transmission spectrum with central wavelength at 4.6 μm.We analyze the relationship among the structure parameters,the central wavelength shift and transmission efficiency using coupled-wave theory and finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method.It is shown that the increase in the number of grating periods enhances the capabilities of mode selectivity,while the grating length of a single period adjustment directly determines the Bragg wavelength.Additionally,variations in etching depth and duty cycle lead to blue and red shifts in the central wavelength,respectively.Based on the numerical simulation results,the optimized design parameters for the upper buffer layer and the upper cladding grating are proposed,which gives an optional scheme for component fabrication and performance improvement in the future.

文摘Deformable mirrors are essential dynamic wavefront compensation.Among the various types of deformable mirrors with different actuation mechanisms,the unimorph piezoelectric deformable mirror(UPDM)offers distinct advantages owing to its compact size and low cost.The two most critical challenges in UPDM are electrode fabrication and deformation control.This study proposes an integrated electrode fabrication and sensorless feedback control scheme for UPDM,which simplifies the manufacturing process and enhances its performance.The electrode array is created using silkscreen printing combined with flexible printed circuit board technology,integrating electrode fabrication and electrical connection into a single step.The desired mirror deformation is achieved by introducing a closed-loop direct deformation control method based on piezoelectric self-sensing.The feedback mechanism utilizes the local strain-induced charge generated by the piezoelectric plate,effectively addressing the nonlinear behavior of the piezoelectric material.Experimental results confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method,with the maximum relative error in the steady state phase remaining below 2%.
文摘As the competition from companies in low cost countries increases,the need for more automated production which reduces labour cost while improving product quality is required.A new rotary compression bending set-up with automated closed-loop feedback control is thus being developed.By transferring in-process measurement data into an algorithm for predicting springback and bend angle prior to the unloading sequence,the dimensional accuracy is improved.This work focuses on the development of this steering model.Since the method used does not increase cycle time,it is attractive for high-volume industrial applications.More than 150 bending tests of AA6060 extrusions were conducted to determine the capability of the technology.The results show that by activating the automated closed-loop feedback system,the dimensional accuracy of the bent parts is more than three times better than that obtained by traditional compression bending.Since the steering model permits the direct use of additional process data,such as instant wall thickness and cross sectional distortions,it is believed that extension of the measurement capabilities would improve the accuracy of the methodology even further.

文摘Ultra-compact serpentine inlet faces serve inlet-engine compatibility issues due to flow distortion.To ensure inlet-engine compatibility over a wide range of Mach number,novel active flow control techniques with the ability of being opened or adjusted as needed draw many attentions in recent years.In this paper,a feedback control system was developed based on the method of microjet blowing.The proposed system includes a pressure adjusting valve to adjust the control effort,a dynamic pressure sensor to sense the inlet distortion intensity,a signal processing instrument to calculate the Root-Mean-Squared(RMS)pressure,and a controller to implement feedback control.To achieve high quality closed-loop controls at dynamic conditions,a novel nondimensional feedback method was developed.The advantage of this nondimensional method was validated at both off-design and arbitrarily changing Mach number conditions.With a sectional PI control law,the RMS control error reduced more than 56%at arbitrary changing conditions.Works in this paper also showed that the dynamics of this nondimensional system can be simplified as a stable second-order overdamped system.

文摘The paper investigates closed-loop transmit diversity (CLTD) systems with antenna selection technique. The expected received signal-noise-ratio (RxSNR) of the proposed systems is analyzed and compared with CLTD systems. An algorithm is proposed for determining the number of increased transmit antennas in terms of a reduced RF chains without performance degradation. Since a feedback channel is bandwidth-limited, we present a method of quantizing transmit-weight vectors. Simulation results demonstrate advantage of the proposed systems with full and quantized feedback information. Quantized feedback has less effect on the proposed systems than CLTD systems.

文摘In wireless communications systems with time-division duplex (TDD) deployment, channel reciprocity and symmetric interference between transmitter and receiver sides are two widely-adopted assumptions for the design of optimal adaptation transmission mode. However, in practice, there is an undesirable but non-negligible effect, namely the asymmetric interference, that makes the assumptions no longer valid. In this paper, a simple closed-loop feedback method of compensating interference asymmetry in TDD multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is proposed. The system makes the estimated interference at transmit-side be able to track the instantaneous receive-side interference dynamically. The proposed method maintains constant frame error rate (FER) by adopting adaptive modulation coding (AMC) and power loading. The final simulations have verified the effectiveness of the new method.

文摘A feedback control optimization method of partially observable linear structures via stationary response is proposed and analyzed with linear building structures equipped with control devices and sensors. First, the partially observable control problem of the structure under horizontal ground acceleration excitation is converted into a completely observable control problem. Then the It6 stochastic differential equations of the system are derived based on the stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems and the stationary solution to the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov (FPK) equation associated with the It6 equations is obtained. The performance index in terms of the mean system energy and mean square control force is established and the optimal control force is obtained by minimizing the performance index. Finally, the numerical results for a three-story building structure model under E1 Centro, Hachinohe, Northridge and Kobe earthquake excitations are given to illustrate the application and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
文摘Local damages to a structure will cause disproportional collapse if the system is lack of robustness.This structural safety cannot be guaranteed by traditional ways, such as reliability analysis tools and construction management approaches. Therefore, it is very important to develop related theories for structural robustness.This paper presents a methodology to quantitatively assess the structural robustness from the topological point of view. In the proposed method, the structural failure is viewed as a feedback process. The transformations between the damage input and failure output form a closed-loop. The decisive factor of the operation of such a closed-loop is thought as the structural topology. Furthermore, the damage input and the failure output of the structure are measured by the uncertain disturbance and the change of the topology, respectively. After the sensitivity of the structural topology to the uncertain disturbance is studied, the transfer matrix is discovered to indicate the rationality of the topological relationship. The importance of each loading path, the structural robustness and the most vulnerable part of the system can be found concisely in accordance with this matrix.

文摘Pathological basal ganglia oscillations are associated with the hypokinetic motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.In this paper,a memoryless feedback control strategy is proposed to suppress pathological oscillations in the basal ganglia.In the most of closed-loop control strategies,the excitatory subthalamic nucleus populations are both monitored and stimulated targets,neglecting the important contribution of the external globus pallidus populations in suppressing pathological oscillations.To this end,we transform the original model into a time-delay system with a lower-triangular structure,and construct a memoryless state feedback controller utilizing the gain scaling method.It is proved by the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional method that all the signals of the resulting closed-loop system are bounded,and the system states converge to an adjustable region of the origin.In addition,the input delay in stimulating the target is considered and a corresponding controller is designed to achieve convergence of the states in the resulting closed-loop system with both state delays and input delay.Moreover,simulation tests are conducted to explore the performance of the control strategy.This paper further explores the intrinsic dynamics in the neural system,and provides an effective strategy for closed-loop deep brain stimulation control.
