Objective:This study aimed to estimate the incidence rate and clinical characteristics of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)in the Chinese population,specially comparing the North and South regions.Methods:We designed a ...Objective:This study aimed to estimate the incidence rate and clinical characteristics of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)in the Chinese population,specially comparing the North and South regions.Methods:We designed a questionnaire survey for patients diagnosed with IBD and conducted a systematic literature search in PubMed,China National Knowledge Internet,and Wanfang digital database,covering studies published between 2012 and 2022.Meta-analysis was performed to determine the overall incidence rate and prevalence of clinical manifestations of Crohn's disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis(UC)in China's Mainland.Clinical phenotypes and demographic characteristics were calculated with 95%confidence intervals(CI).A comparison between the northern and southern regions was also conducted.Results:The questionnaire survey included 440 patients,and 64 publications were included for Meta-analysis.The overall incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were 1.36(95%CI:0.79-2.33)per 100,000 person-years,0.23(95%CI:0.09-0.58)per 100,000 person-years,and 1.12(95%CI:0.69-1.80)per 100,000 person-years,respectively.The incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were all higher in southern China compared to the North.Clinical characteristics of 440 IBD patients from the questionnaire and 2,821 CD patients and 12,809 UC patients from the literature were analyzed.There were more male patients compared to female patients.CD cases in the North exhibited earlier disease diagnosis(P<0.01),more upper gastrointestinal lesions(P<0.01),and higher hospitalizations rates(P<0.01)compared to the South.UC cases in the North had higher severity(P<0.01),anemia rates(P<0.01),and weight loss(P<0.01)compared to the South.Conclusions:The incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were higher in southern China than in the North.Northern patients exhibited more severe symptoms compared to their southern counterparts.展开更多
BACKGROUND Diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs)present a significant clinical challenge due to their high prevalence and profound impact on morbidity.Ultrasound-assisted wound debridement(UAWD)has emerged as a potential therape...BACKGROUND Diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs)present a significant clinical challenge due to their high prevalence and profound impact on morbidity.Ultrasound-assisted wound debridement(UAWD)has emerged as a potential therapeutic modality to improve healing outcomes in DFU management.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of UAWD in treating DFUs on wound closure rates,treatment duration,and quality of life outcomes.METHODS This systematic review and meta-analysis followed PRISMA guidelines,systematically searching PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane Library with no date restrictions.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that evaluated the efficacy of UAWD in DFU treatment were included.Data were independently extracted by two reviewers,with discrepancies resolved through consensus or third-party consultation.The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane tool.χ2 and I2 statistics assessed heterogeneity,informing the use of fixed or random-effects models for meta-analysis,supplemented by sensitivity analysis and publication bias assessment through funnel plots and Egger's test.RESULTS From 1255 articles,seven RCTs met the inclusion criteria.The studies demonstrated that UAWD significantly reduced DFU healing time(standardized mean difference=-0.78,95%CI:-0.97 to-0.60,P<0.001)and increased healing rates(odds ratio=9.96,95%CI:5.99 to 16.56,P<0.001)compared to standard care.Sensitivity analysis confirmed the stability of these results,and no significant publication bias was detected.CONCLUSION UAWD is a promising adjunctive treatment for DFUs,significantly reducing healing times and increasing healing rates.These findings advocate for the integration of UAWD into standard DFU care protocols.展开更多

Water use efficiency(WUE),as a pivotal indicator of the coupling degree within the carbon–water cycle of ecosystems,holds considerable importance in assessment of the carbon–water balance within terrestrial ecosyste...Water use efficiency(WUE),as a pivotal indicator of the coupling degree within the carbon–water cycle of ecosystems,holds considerable importance in assessment of the carbon–water balance within terrestrial ecosystems.However,in the context of global warming,WUE evolution and its primary drivers on the Tibetan Plateau remain unclear.This study employed the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method and the random forest algorithm to decipher the nonlinear trends and drivers of WUE on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–2020.Results indicated an annual mean WUE of 0.8088 gC/mm·m^(2)across the plateau,with a spatial gradient reflecting decrease from the southeast toward the northwest.Areas manifesting monotonous trends of increase or decrease in WUE accounted for 23.64%and 9.69%of the total,respectively.Remarkably,66.67%of the region exhibited trend reversals,i.e.,39.94%of the area of the Tibetan Plateau showed transition from a trend of increase to a trend of decrease,and 26.73%of the area demonstrated a shift from a trend of decrease to a trend of increase.Environmental factors accounted for 70.79%of the variability in WUE.The leaf area index and temperature served as the major driving forces of WUE variation.展开更多
Objectives:This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify and synthesize the factors correlated with posttraumatic growth(PTG)in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods:PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Ps...Objectives:This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify and synthesize the factors correlated with posttraumatic growth(PTG)in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods:PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,PsycINFO,CINAHL,Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang database,China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP)and SinoMed were searched for studies that reported data on the correlated factors associated with PTG in patients with CRC from inception to September 3,2024.The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed via the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ)methodology checklist and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS).Pearson correlation coefficient(r)was utilized to indicate effect size.Meta-analysis was conducted in R Studio.Results:Thirty-one eligible studies encompassing 6,400 participants were included in this review.Correlated factors were identified to be significantly associated with PTG in patients with CRC including demographic factors:residential area(r=0.13),marital status(r=0.10),employment status(r=0.18),education level(r=0.19),income level(r=0.16);disease-related factors:time since surgery(r=0.17),stoma-related complications(r=0.14),health-promoting behavior(r=0.46),and sexual function(r=0.17);psychosocial factors:confrontation coping(r=0.68),avoidance coping(r=-0.65),deliberate rumination(r=0.56),social support(r=0.47),family function(r=0.50),resilience(r=0.53),selfefficacy(r=0.91),self-compassion(r=-0.32),psychosocial adjustment(r=0.39),gratitude(r=0.45),stigma(r=-0.65),self-perceived burden(r=-0.31),fear of cancer recurrence(r=-0.45);and quality of life(r=0.32).Conclusions:This meta-analysis identified 23 factors associated with PTG in CRC patients.Medical workers can combine those relevant factors from the perspective of positive psychology,further explore the occurrence and development mechanism of PTG,and establish targeted interventions to promote PTG.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)comprises heterogeneous malignancies arising at different anatomical locations:Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(IHCC),perihilar cholangiocarcinoma(PHCC),and distal cholangiocarcinoma(D...BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)comprises heterogeneous malignancies arising at different anatomical locations:Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(IHCC),perihilar cholangiocarcinoma(PHCC),and distal cholangiocarcinoma(DCC).These subtypes exhibit distinct clinical behaviors,treatment approaches,and outcomes.Despite advances in surgical and adjuvant therapies,the prognostic implications of tumor location remain unclear and inconsistently reported.Understanding these variations is essential for personalized management and staging refinement.We hypothesized that the anatomical subtype of CCA significantly influences prognostic outcomes and pathological features.AIM To compare prognostic outcomes and clinicopathological characteristics among IHCC,PHCC,and DCC based on current evidence.METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines.PubMed,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library were searched,yielding 11 eligible retrospective comparative studies involving 14484 patients(IHCC:6260;PHCC:6895;DCC:1329).Outcomes assessed included overall survival(OS),lymph node metastasis,neural invasion,and vascular invasion.Statistical analyses were performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 13.0.RESULTS DCC demonstrated the most favorable prognosis among all subtypes.Despite the highest lymph node metastasis rate(DCC:56.9%),it was associated with better OS than PHCC and IHCC.Vascular invasion was more prevalent in IHCC(OR=1.66,95%CI:1.22-2.28,P=0.001).OS comparisons showed no significant difference between PHCC and IHCC(HR=1.02,P=0.88),while DCC showed consistent trends toward better survival against both.CONCLUSION Anatomical subtype is a significant prognostic factor in CCA.DCC patients experience superior outcomes despite aggressive lymphatic spread,suggesting better resectability and surgical outcomes.These insights underscore the need for subtype-specific management strategies and future prospective validation.展开更多

Although the vast majority of meta-analyses have confirmed that exercise interventions can increase bra...Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a crucial neurotrophic factor that plays a significant role in brain health. Although the vast majority of meta-analyses have confirmed that exercise interventions can increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents, the effects of specific types of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels are still controversial. To address this issue, we used meta-analytic methods to quantitatively evaluate, analyze, and integrate relevant studies. Our goals were to formulate general conclusions regarding the use of exercise interventions, explore the physiological mechanisms by which exercise improves brain health and cognitive ability in children and adolescents, and provide a reliable foundation for follow-up research. We used the Pub Med, Web of Science, Science Direct, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Weipu, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases to search for randomized controlled trials examining the influences of exercise interventions on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. The extracted data were analyzed using Review Manager 5.3. According to the inclusion criteria, we assessed randomized controlled trials in which the samples were mainly children and adolescents, and the outcome indicators were measured before and after the intervention. We excluded animal experiments, studies that lacked a control group, and those that did not report quantitative results. The mean difference(MD;before versus after intervention) was used to evaluate the effect of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. Overall, 531 participants(60 children and 471 adolescents, 10.9–16.1 years) were included from 13 randomized controlled trials. Heterogeneity was evaluated using the Q statistic and I^(2) test provided by Review Manager software. The meta-analysis showed that there was no heterogeneity among the studies(P = 0.67, I^(2) = 0.00%). The combined effect of the interventions was significant(MD = 2.88, 95% CI: 1.53–4.22, P < 0.0001), indicating that the brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels of the children and adolescents in the exercise group were significantly higher than those in the control group. In conclusion, different types of exercise interventions significantly increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. However, because of the small sample size of this meta-analysis, more high-quality research is needed to verify our conclusions. BACKGROUND The management of severe symptomatic aortic stenosis has been revolutionized by transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR),offering a minimally invasive alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement(SA...BACKGROUND The management of severe symptomatic aortic stenosis has been revolutionized by transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR),offering a minimally invasive alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR).However,the compara-tive safety and efficacy of these interventions remain subjects of ongoing investigation.AIM To compare the clinical outcomes and safety of TAVR vs SAVR in patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis.METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted according to PRISMA guidelines.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)comparing TAVR and SAVR were identified from databases including PubMed,Scopus,and Web of Science up to May 31,2024.Data were extracted on clinical outcomes,including mortality,procedural compli-cations,and post-procedure adverse events.Risk ratios(RRs)with 95%CIs were calculated using a random-effects model.RESULTS A total of 10 RCTs were included.TAVR demonstrated a significantly lower risk of acute kidney injury(RR:0.33;95%CI:0.25–0.44),major bleeding(RR:0.37;95%CI:0.30–0.46),and new-onset atrial fibrillation(RR:0.44;95%CI:0.34–0.57)compared to SAVR.However,TAVR was associated with higher risks of new permanent pacemaker implantation(RR:3.49;95%CI:2.77–4.39),major vascular complications(RR:2.47;95%CI:1.91–3.21),and paraval-vular leaks(RR:4.15;95%CI:3.14–5.48).Mortality at 30 days was comparable(RR:0.95;95%CI:0.78–1.15),but long-term mortality was slightly higher with TAVR in some analyses(RR:1.23;95%CI:1.01–1.49).Rates of stroke(RR:0.97;95%CI:0.81–1.17)and myocardial infarction(RR:0.91;95%CI:0.67–1.24)were similar between the groups.CONCLUSION TAVR offers a less invasive option with significant benefits in reducing acute kidney injury,major bleeding,and new-onset atrial fibrillation,making it particularly advantageous for high-risk surgical candidates.However,higher risks of permanent pacemaker implantation,vascular complications,and paravalvular leaks highlight the need for individualized patient selection and shared decision-making to optimize outcomes.展开更多
Based on comprehensive observations of 20 wire icing events during winter from 2019 to 2021,we investigated the characteristics of the icing properties,the atmospheric boundary layer structure,the raindrop size distri...Based on comprehensive observations of 20 wire icing events during winter from 2019 to 2021,we investigated the characteristics of the icing properties,the atmospheric boundary layer structure,the raindrop size distribution,and their associated effects on the ice accretion mechanism in the mountainous region of Southwest China.The maximum ice weight was positively correlated with the duration of ice accretion in the mountainous area.The duration of precipitation accounted for less than 20%of the icing period in the mountainous area,with solid-phase hydrometeors being predominant.Icing events,dominated by freezing rain(FR)and mixed rain–graupel(more than 70%),were characterized by glaze or highdensity mixed icing.The relationship between the melting energy and refreezing energy reflected the distribution characteristics of the proportion of FR under mixed-phase precipitation.The intensity of the warm layer and the dominant precipitation phase significantly affected the variations in the microphysical properties of FR.The melting of large dry snowflakes significantly contributed to FR in the mountainous areas,resulting in smaller generalized intercepts and larger mass-weighted mean diameters in the presence of a stronger warm layer.Under a weaker warm layer,the value of the massweighted mean diameter was significantly smaller because of the inability of large solid particles to melt.Finally,FR in the mountainous area dominated the ice weight during the rapid ice accumulation period.A numerical simulation of FR icing on wires effectively revealed the evolution of disaster-causing icing in mountainous areas.展开更多
Shaped charge has been widely used for penetrating concrete.However,due to the obvious difference between the propagation of shock waves and explosion products in water and air,the theory governing the formation of sh...Shaped charge has been widely used for penetrating concrete.However,due to the obvious difference between the propagation of shock waves and explosion products in water and air,the theory governing the formation of shaped charge jets in water as well as the underwater penetration effect of concrete need to be studied.In this paper,we introduced a modified forming theory of an underwater hemispherical shaped charge,and investigated the behavior of jet formation and concrete penetration in both air and water experimentally and numerically.The results show that the modified jet forming theory predicts the jet velocity of the hemispherical liner with an error of less than 10%.The underwater jets exhibit at least 3%faster and 11%longer than those in air.Concrete shows different failure modes after penetration in air and water.The depth of penetration deepens at least 18.75%after underwater penetration,accompanied by deeper crater with 65%smaller radius.Moreover,cracks throughout the entire target are formed,whereas cracks exist only near the penetration hole in air.This comprehensive study provides guidance for optimizing the structure of shaped charge and improves the understanding of the permeability effect of concrete in water.展开更多
VOCs(Volatile organic compounds)exert a vital role in ozone and secondary organic aerosol production,necessitating investigations into their concentration,chemical characteristics,and source apportionment for the effe...VOCs(Volatile organic compounds)exert a vital role in ozone and secondary organic aerosol production,necessitating investigations into their concentration,chemical characteristics,and source apportionment for the effective implementation of measures aimed at preventing and controlling atmospheric pollution.FromJuly to October 2020,onlinemonitoringwas conducted in the main urban area of Shijiazhuang to collect data on VOCs and analyze their concentrations and reactivity.Additionally,the PMF(positive matrix factorization)method was utilized to identify the VOCs sources.Results indicated that the TVOCs(total VOCs)concentration was(96.7±63.4μg/m^3),with alkanes exhibiting the highest concentration of(36.1±26.4μg/m^3),followed by OVOCs(16.4±14.4μg/m^3).The key active components were alkenes and aromatics,among which xylene,propylene,toluene,propionaldehyde,acetaldehyde,ethylene,and styrene played crucial roles as reactive species.The sources derived from PMF analysis encompassed vehicle emissions,solvent and coating sources,combustion sources,industrial emissions sources,as well as plant sources,the contribution of which were 37.80%,27.93%,16.57%,15.24%,and 2.46%,respectively.Hence,reducing vehicular exhaust emissions and encouraging neighboring industries to adopt low-volatile organic solvents and coatings should be prioritized to mitigate VOCs levels.展开更多
In the application of high-pressure water jet assisted breaking of deep underground rock engineering,the influence mechanism of rock temperature on the rock fragmentation process under jet action is still unclear.Ther...In the application of high-pressure water jet assisted breaking of deep underground rock engineering,the influence mechanism of rock temperature on the rock fragmentation process under jet action is still unclear.Therefore,the fluid evolution characteristics and rock fracture behavior during jet impingement were studied.The results indicate that the breaking process of high-temperature rock by jet impact can be divided into four stages:initial fluid-solid contact stage,intense thermal exchange stage,perforation and fracturing stage,and crack propagation and penetration stage.With the increase of rock temperature,the jet reflection angles and the time required for complete cooling of the impact surface significantly decrease,while the number of cracks and crack propagation rate significantly increase,and the rock breaking critical time is shortened by up to 34.5%.Based on numerical simulation results,it was found that the center temperature of granite at 400℃ rapidly decreased from 390 to 260℃ within 0.7 s under jet impact.In addition,a critical temperature and critical heat flux prediction model considering the staged breaking of hot rocks was established.These findings provide valuable insights to guide the water jet technology assisted deep ground hot rock excavation project.展开更多
The gear transmission system directly affects the operational performance of high-speed trains(HST).However,current research on gear transmission systems of HST often overlooks the effects of gear eccentricity and run...The gear transmission system directly affects the operational performance of high-speed trains(HST).However,current research on gear transmission systems of HST often overlooks the effects of gear eccentricity and running resistance,and the dynamic models of gear transmission system are not sufficiently comprehensive.This paper aims to establish an electromechanical coupling dynamic model of HST traction transmission system and study its electromechanical coupling vibration characteristics,in which the internal excitation factors such as gear eccentricity,time-varying meshing stiffness,backlash,meshing error,and external excitation factors such as electromagnetic torque and running resistance are stressed.The research results indicate that gear eccentricity and running resistance have a significant impact on the stability of the system,and gear eccentricity leads to intensified system vibration and decreased anti-interference ability.In addition,the characteristic frequency of gear eccentricity can be extracted from mechanical signals and current signals as a preliminary basis for eccentricity detection,and electrical signals can also be used to monitor changes in train running resistance in real time.The results of this study provide some useful insights into designing dynamic performance parameters for HST transmission systems and monitoring train operational states.展开更多
Waterproof performance of gaskets between segments is the focus of shield tunnels.This paper proposed an analytical method for determining seepage characteristics at tunnel-gasketed joints based on the hydraulic fract...Waterproof performance of gaskets between segments is the focus of shield tunnels.This paper proposed an analytical method for determining seepage characteristics at tunnel-gasketed joints based on the hydraulic fracturing theories.First,the mathematical model was established,and the seepage governing equation and boundary conditions were obtained.Second,three dimensionless parameters were introduced for simplifying the expressions,and the seepage governing equations were normalized.Third,analytical expressions were derived for the interface opening and liquid pressure.Moreover,the influencing factors of seepage process at the gasketed interface were analyzed.Parametric analyses revealed that,in the normalized criterion of liquid viscosity,the liquid tip coordinate was influenced by the degree of negative pressure in the liquid lag region,which was related to the initial contact stress.The coordinate of the liquid tip affected the liquid pressure distribution and the interface opening,which were analyzed under different liquid tip coordinate conditions.Finally,under two limit states,comparative analysis showed that the results of the variation trend of the proposed method agree well with those of previous research.Overall,the proposed analytical method provides a novel solution for the design of the waterproof in shield tunnels.展开更多
Aircraft disturbs the adjacent atmospheric environment in flight,forming spatial distribution features of atmospheric density that differ from the natural background,which may potentially be utilized as tracer charact...Aircraft disturbs the adjacent atmospheric environment in flight,forming spatial distribution features of atmospheric density that differ from the natural background,which may potentially be utilized as tracer characteristics to introduce new technologies for indirectly sensing the presence of aircraft.In this paper,the concept of a long-range aircraft detection based on the atmospheric disturbance density field is proposed,and the detection mode of tomographic imaging of the scattering light of an atmospheric disturbance flow field is designed.By modeling the spatial distribution of the disturbance density field,the scattered echo signal images of active light towards the disturbance field at long distance are simulated.On this basis,the characteristics of the disturbance optical signal at the optimal detection resolution are analyzed.The results show that the atmospheric disturbance flow field of the supersonic aircraft presents circular in the light-scattering echo images.The disturbance signal can be further highlighted by differential processing of the adjacent scattering images.As the distance behind the aircraft increases,the diffusion range of the disturbance signal increases,and the signal intensity and contrast with the background decrease.Under the ground-based observation conditions of the aircraft at a height of 10000 m,a Mach number of1.6,and a detection distance of 100 km,the contrast between the disturbance signal and the back-ground was 30 d B at a distance of one time from the rear of the fuselage,and the diffusion diameter of the disturbance signal was 50 m.At a distance eight times the length of the aircraft,the contrast decreased to 10 dB,and the diameter increased to 290 m.The contrast was reduced to 3 dB at a distance nine times the length of the aircraft,and the diameter was diffused to 310 m.These results indicate the possibility of long-range aircraft detection based on the characteristics of the atmospheric density field.展开更多

Background There is a growing focus on using various plant-derived agricultural by-products to increase the benefits of pig farming,but these feedstuffs are fibrous in nature.This study investigated the relationship b...Background There is a growing focus on using various plant-derived agricultural by-products to increase the benefits of pig farming,but these feedstuffs are fibrous in nature.This study investigated the relationship between dietary fiber physicochemical properties and feedstuff fermentation characteristics and their effects on nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,and gut microbiota in growing pigs.Methods Thirty-six growing barrows(47.2±1.5 kg)were randomly allotted to 6 dietary treatments with 2 apparent viscosity levels and 3β-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios.In the experiment,nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,fecal microbial community,and production and absorption of short-chain fatty acid(SCFA)of pigs were investigated.In vitro digestion and fermentation models were used to compare the fermentation characteristics of feedstuffs and ileal digesta in the pig’s hindgut.Results The production dynamics of SCFA and dry matter corrected gas production of different feedstuffs during in vitro fermentation were different and closely related to the physical properties and chemical structure of the fiber.In animal experiments,increasing the dietary apparent viscosity and theβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased the apparent ileal digestibility(AID),apparent total tract digestibility(ATTD),and hindgut digestibility of fiber components while decreasing the AID and ATTD of dry matter and organic matter(P<0.05).In addition,increasing dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased gas exchange,heat production,and protein oxidation,and decreased energy deposition(P<0.05).The dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucanto-arabinoxylan ratios had linear interaction effects on the digestible energy,metabolizable energy,retained energy(RE),and net energy(NE)of the diets(P<0.05).At the same time,the increase of dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased SCFA production and absorption(P<0.05).Increasing the dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios increased the diversity and abundance of bacteria(P<0.05)and the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria.Furthermore,increasing the dietaryβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios led to a linear increase in SCFA production during the in vitro fermentation of ileal digesta(P<0.001).Finally,the prediction equations for RE and NE were established.Conclusion Dietary fiber physicochemical properties alter dietary fermentation patterns and regulate nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,and pig gut microbiota composition and metabolites.展开更多
A deep-sea mining riser is a crucial component of the system used to lift seafloor mineral resources to the vessel.It is prone to damage and failure because of harsh environmental conditions and internal fluid erosion...A deep-sea mining riser is a crucial component of the system used to lift seafloor mineral resources to the vessel.It is prone to damage and failure because of harsh environmental conditions and internal fluid erosion.Furthermore,damage can impact the response characteristics of the riser,but varying environmental loadings easily mask it.Thus,distin-guishing between riser damage and environmental effects poses a considerable challenge.To address this issue,a cantilevered model is created for a deep-sea mining riser via the concentrated mass method,and a time-domain analytical strategy is developed.The vortex-induced vibration(VIV)response characteristics of the riser are initially examined,considering various damage conditions and flow velocities.The study results revealed four primary observations:(a)effective tension can serve as a reliable indicator for identifying damage at lower velocities;(b)there are noticeable differences in displacement between the healthy and damaged risers in the in-line direction rather than the cross-flow direction;(c)frequency characteristics can more effectively distinguish the damage conditions at high flow velocities,with the mean square frequency and frequency variance being more effective than the centroid frequency and root variance frequency;(d)displacement differences are more sensitive to damage occurring near the top and bottom of the riser,while both velocity variations and structural damage can influence displacements,especially in regions between modal nodes.The vibrational behavior and damage indicators are clarified for structural health monitoring of deep-sea mining risers during lifting operations.展开更多

文摘Objective:This study aimed to estimate the incidence rate and clinical characteristics of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)in the Chinese population,specially comparing the North and South regions.Methods:We designed a questionnaire survey for patients diagnosed with IBD and conducted a systematic literature search in PubMed,China National Knowledge Internet,and Wanfang digital database,covering studies published between 2012 and 2022.Meta-analysis was performed to determine the overall incidence rate and prevalence of clinical manifestations of Crohn's disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis(UC)in China's Mainland.Clinical phenotypes and demographic characteristics were calculated with 95%confidence intervals(CI).A comparison between the northern and southern regions was also conducted.Results:The questionnaire survey included 440 patients,and 64 publications were included for Meta-analysis.The overall incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were 1.36(95%CI:0.79-2.33)per 100,000 person-years,0.23(95%CI:0.09-0.58)per 100,000 person-years,and 1.12(95%CI:0.69-1.80)per 100,000 person-years,respectively.The incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were all higher in southern China compared to the North.Clinical characteristics of 440 IBD patients from the questionnaire and 2,821 CD patients and 12,809 UC patients from the literature were analyzed.There were more male patients compared to female patients.CD cases in the North exhibited earlier disease diagnosis(P<0.01),more upper gastrointestinal lesions(P<0.01),and higher hospitalizations rates(P<0.01)compared to the South.UC cases in the North had higher severity(P<0.01),anemia rates(P<0.01),and weight loss(P<0.01)compared to the South.Conclusions:The incidence rates of IBD,CD,and UC were higher in southern China than in the North.Northern patients exhibited more severe symptoms compared to their southern counterparts.

文摘BACKGROUND Diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs)present a significant clinical challenge due to their high prevalence and profound impact on morbidity.Ultrasound-assisted wound debridement(UAWD)has emerged as a potential therapeutic modality to improve healing outcomes in DFU management.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of UAWD in treating DFUs on wound closure rates,treatment duration,and quality of life outcomes.METHODS This systematic review and meta-analysis followed PRISMA guidelines,systematically searching PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane Library with no date restrictions.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that evaluated the efficacy of UAWD in DFU treatment were included.Data were independently extracted by two reviewers,with discrepancies resolved through consensus or third-party consultation.The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane tool.χ2 and I2 statistics assessed heterogeneity,informing the use of fixed or random-effects models for meta-analysis,supplemented by sensitivity analysis and publication bias assessment through funnel plots and Egger's test.RESULTS From 1255 articles,seven RCTs met the inclusion criteria.The studies demonstrated that UAWD significantly reduced DFU healing time(standardized mean difference=-0.78,95%CI:-0.97 to-0.60,P<0.001)and increased healing rates(odds ratio=9.96,95%CI:5.99 to 16.56,P<0.001)compared to standard care.Sensitivity analysis confirmed the stability of these results,and no significant publication bias was detected.CONCLUSION UAWD is a promising adjunctive treatment for DFUs,significantly reducing healing times and increasing healing rates.These findings advocate for the integration of UAWD into standard DFU care protocols.

文摘To prepare a conductive polymer actuator with decent performance,a self-built experimental platform for the preparation of polypyrrole film is employed.One of the essential goals is to examine the mechanical characteristics of the actuator in the presence of various combinations of process parameters,combined with the orthogonal test method of"four factors and three levels".The bending and sensing characteristics of actuators of various sizes are methodically examined using a self-made bending polypyrrole actuator.The functional relationship between the bending displacement and the output voltage signal is established by studying the characteristics of the actuator sensor subjected to various degrees of bending.The experimental results reveal that the bending displacement of the actuator tip almost exhibits a linear variation as a function of length and width.When the voltage reaches 0.8 V,the bending speed of the actuator tends to be stable.Finally,the mechanical properties of the self-assembled polypyrrole actuator are verified by the design and fabrication of the microgripper.

文摘Water use efficiency(WUE),as a pivotal indicator of the coupling degree within the carbon–water cycle of ecosystems,holds considerable importance in assessment of the carbon–water balance within terrestrial ecosystems.However,in the context of global warming,WUE evolution and its primary drivers on the Tibetan Plateau remain unclear.This study employed the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method and the random forest algorithm to decipher the nonlinear trends and drivers of WUE on the Tibetan Plateau in 2001–2020.Results indicated an annual mean WUE of 0.8088 gC/mm·m^(2)across the plateau,with a spatial gradient reflecting decrease from the southeast toward the northwest.Areas manifesting monotonous trends of increase or decrease in WUE accounted for 23.64%and 9.69%of the total,respectively.Remarkably,66.67%of the region exhibited trend reversals,i.e.,39.94%of the area of the Tibetan Plateau showed transition from a trend of increase to a trend of decrease,and 26.73%of the area demonstrated a shift from a trend of decrease to a trend of increase.Environmental factors accounted for 70.79%of the variability in WUE.The leaf area index and temperature served as the major driving forces of WUE variation.

文摘Objectives:This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify and synthesize the factors correlated with posttraumatic growth(PTG)in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods:PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,PsycINFO,CINAHL,Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang database,China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP)and SinoMed were searched for studies that reported data on the correlated factors associated with PTG in patients with CRC from inception to September 3,2024.The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed via the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ)methodology checklist and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS).Pearson correlation coefficient(r)was utilized to indicate effect size.Meta-analysis was conducted in R Studio.Results:Thirty-one eligible studies encompassing 6,400 participants were included in this review.Correlated factors were identified to be significantly associated with PTG in patients with CRC including demographic factors:residential area(r=0.13),marital status(r=0.10),employment status(r=0.18),education level(r=0.19),income level(r=0.16);disease-related factors:time since surgery(r=0.17),stoma-related complications(r=0.14),health-promoting behavior(r=0.46),and sexual function(r=0.17);psychosocial factors:confrontation coping(r=0.68),avoidance coping(r=-0.65),deliberate rumination(r=0.56),social support(r=0.47),family function(r=0.50),resilience(r=0.53),selfefficacy(r=0.91),self-compassion(r=-0.32),psychosocial adjustment(r=0.39),gratitude(r=0.45),stigma(r=-0.65),self-perceived burden(r=-0.31),fear of cancer recurrence(r=-0.45);and quality of life(r=0.32).Conclusions:This meta-analysis identified 23 factors associated with PTG in CRC patients.Medical workers can combine those relevant factors from the perspective of positive psychology,further explore the occurrence and development mechanism of PTG,and establish targeted interventions to promote PTG.
文摘BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)comprises heterogeneous malignancies arising at different anatomical locations:Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(IHCC),perihilar cholangiocarcinoma(PHCC),and distal cholangiocarcinoma(DCC).These subtypes exhibit distinct clinical behaviors,treatment approaches,and outcomes.Despite advances in surgical and adjuvant therapies,the prognostic implications of tumor location remain unclear and inconsistently reported.Understanding these variations is essential for personalized management and staging refinement.We hypothesized that the anatomical subtype of CCA significantly influences prognostic outcomes and pathological features.AIM To compare prognostic outcomes and clinicopathological characteristics among IHCC,PHCC,and DCC based on current evidence.METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines.PubMed,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library were searched,yielding 11 eligible retrospective comparative studies involving 14484 patients(IHCC:6260;PHCC:6895;DCC:1329).Outcomes assessed included overall survival(OS),lymph node metastasis,neural invasion,and vascular invasion.Statistical analyses were performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 13.0.RESULTS DCC demonstrated the most favorable prognosis among all subtypes.Despite the highest lymph node metastasis rate(DCC:56.9%),it was associated with better OS than PHCC and IHCC.Vascular invasion was more prevalent in IHCC(OR=1.66,95%CI:1.22-2.28,P=0.001).OS comparisons showed no significant difference between PHCC and IHCC(HR=1.02,P=0.88),while DCC showed consistent trends toward better survival against both.CONCLUSION Anatomical subtype is a significant prognostic factor in CCA.DCC patients experience superior outcomes despite aggressive lymphatic spread,suggesting better resectability and surgical outcomes.These insights underscore the need for subtype-specific management strategies and future prospective validation.

文摘Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a crucial neurotrophic factor that plays a significant role in brain health. Although the vast majority of meta-analyses have confirmed that exercise interventions can increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents, the effects of specific types of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels are still controversial. To address this issue, we used meta-analytic methods to quantitatively evaluate, analyze, and integrate relevant studies. Our goals were to formulate general conclusions regarding the use of exercise interventions, explore the physiological mechanisms by which exercise improves brain health and cognitive ability in children and adolescents, and provide a reliable foundation for follow-up research. We used the Pub Med, Web of Science, Science Direct, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Weipu, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases to search for randomized controlled trials examining the influences of exercise interventions on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. The extracted data were analyzed using Review Manager 5.3. According to the inclusion criteria, we assessed randomized controlled trials in which the samples were mainly children and adolescents, and the outcome indicators were measured before and after the intervention. We excluded animal experiments, studies that lacked a control group, and those that did not report quantitative results. The mean difference(MD;before versus after intervention) was used to evaluate the effect of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. Overall, 531 participants(60 children and 471 adolescents, 10.9–16.1 years) were included from 13 randomized controlled trials. Heterogeneity was evaluated using the Q statistic and I^(2) test provided by Review Manager software. The meta-analysis showed that there was no heterogeneity among the studies(P = 0.67, I^(2) = 0.00%). The combined effect of the interventions was significant(MD = 2.88, 95% CI: 1.53–4.22, P < 0.0001), indicating that the brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels of the children and adolescents in the exercise group were significantly higher than those in the control group. In conclusion, different types of exercise interventions significantly increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. However, because of the small sample size of this meta-analysis, more high-quality research is needed to verify our conclusions. 文摘BACKGROUND The management of severe symptomatic aortic stenosis has been revolutionized by transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR),offering a minimally invasive alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR).However,the compara-tive safety and efficacy of these interventions remain subjects of ongoing investigation.AIM To compare the clinical outcomes and safety of TAVR vs SAVR in patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis.METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted according to PRISMA guidelines.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)comparing TAVR and SAVR were identified from databases including PubMed,Scopus,and Web of Science up to May 31,2024.Data were extracted on clinical outcomes,including mortality,procedural compli-cations,and post-procedure adverse events.Risk ratios(RRs)with 95%CIs were calculated using a random-effects model.RESULTS A total of 10 RCTs were included.TAVR demonstrated a significantly lower risk of acute kidney injury(RR:0.33;95%CI:0.25–0.44),major bleeding(RR:0.37;95%CI:0.30–0.46),and new-onset atrial fibrillation(RR:0.44;95%CI:0.34–0.57)compared to SAVR.However,TAVR was associated with higher risks of new permanent pacemaker implantation(RR:3.49;95%CI:2.77–4.39),major vascular complications(RR:2.47;95%CI:1.91–3.21),and paraval-vular leaks(RR:4.15;95%CI:3.14–5.48).Mortality at 30 days was comparable(RR:0.95;95%CI:0.78–1.15),but long-term mortality was slightly higher with TAVR in some analyses(RR:1.23;95%CI:1.01–1.49).Rates of stroke(RR:0.97;95%CI:0.81–1.17)and myocardial infarction(RR:0.91;95%CI:0.67–1.24)were similar between the groups.CONCLUSION TAVR offers a less invasive option with significant benefits in reducing acute kidney injury,major bleeding,and new-onset atrial fibrillation,making it particularly advantageous for high-risk surgical candidates.However,higher risks of permanent pacemaker implantation,vascular complications,and paravalvular leaks highlight the need for individualized patient selection and shared decision-making to optimize outcomes.

文摘Based on comprehensive observations of 20 wire icing events during winter from 2019 to 2021,we investigated the characteristics of the icing properties,the atmospheric boundary layer structure,the raindrop size distribution,and their associated effects on the ice accretion mechanism in the mountainous region of Southwest China.The maximum ice weight was positively correlated with the duration of ice accretion in the mountainous area.The duration of precipitation accounted for less than 20%of the icing period in the mountainous area,with solid-phase hydrometeors being predominant.Icing events,dominated by freezing rain(FR)and mixed rain–graupel(more than 70%),were characterized by glaze or highdensity mixed icing.The relationship between the melting energy and refreezing energy reflected the distribution characteristics of the proportion of FR under mixed-phase precipitation.The intensity of the warm layer and the dominant precipitation phase significantly affected the variations in the microphysical properties of FR.The melting of large dry snowflakes significantly contributed to FR in the mountainous areas,resulting in smaller generalized intercepts and larger mass-weighted mean diameters in the presence of a stronger warm layer.Under a weaker warm layer,the value of the massweighted mean diameter was significantly smaller because of the inability of large solid particles to melt.Finally,FR in the mountainous area dominated the ice weight during the rapid ice accumulation period.A numerical simulation of FR icing on wires effectively revealed the evolution of disaster-causing icing in mountainous areas.

文摘Shaped charge has been widely used for penetrating concrete.However,due to the obvious difference between the propagation of shock waves and explosion products in water and air,the theory governing the formation of shaped charge jets in water as well as the underwater penetration effect of concrete need to be studied.In this paper,we introduced a modified forming theory of an underwater hemispherical shaped charge,and investigated the behavior of jet formation and concrete penetration in both air and water experimentally and numerically.The results show that the modified jet forming theory predicts the jet velocity of the hemispherical liner with an error of less than 10%.The underwater jets exhibit at least 3%faster and 11%longer than those in air.Concrete shows different failure modes after penetration in air and water.The depth of penetration deepens at least 18.75%after underwater penetration,accompanied by deeper crater with 65%smaller radius.Moreover,cracks throughout the entire target are formed,whereas cracks exist only near the penetration hole in air.This comprehensive study provides guidance for optimizing the structure of shaped charge and improves the understanding of the permeability effect of concrete in water.

文摘VOCs(Volatile organic compounds)exert a vital role in ozone and secondary organic aerosol production,necessitating investigations into their concentration,chemical characteristics,and source apportionment for the effective implementation of measures aimed at preventing and controlling atmospheric pollution.FromJuly to October 2020,onlinemonitoringwas conducted in the main urban area of Shijiazhuang to collect data on VOCs and analyze their concentrations and reactivity.Additionally,the PMF(positive matrix factorization)method was utilized to identify the VOCs sources.Results indicated that the TVOCs(total VOCs)concentration was(96.7±63.4μg/m^3),with alkanes exhibiting the highest concentration of(36.1±26.4μg/m^3),followed by OVOCs(16.4±14.4μg/m^3).The key active components were alkenes and aromatics,among which xylene,propylene,toluene,propionaldehyde,acetaldehyde,ethylene,and styrene played crucial roles as reactive species.The sources derived from PMF analysis encompassed vehicle emissions,solvent and coating sources,combustion sources,industrial emissions sources,as well as plant sources,the contribution of which were 37.80%,27.93%,16.57%,15.24%,and 2.46%,respectively.Hence,reducing vehicular exhaust emissions and encouraging neighboring industries to adopt low-volatile organic solvents and coatings should be prioritized to mitigate VOCs levels.

文摘In the application of high-pressure water jet assisted breaking of deep underground rock engineering,the influence mechanism of rock temperature on the rock fragmentation process under jet action is still unclear.Therefore,the fluid evolution characteristics and rock fracture behavior during jet impingement were studied.The results indicate that the breaking process of high-temperature rock by jet impact can be divided into four stages:initial fluid-solid contact stage,intense thermal exchange stage,perforation and fracturing stage,and crack propagation and penetration stage.With the increase of rock temperature,the jet reflection angles and the time required for complete cooling of the impact surface significantly decrease,while the number of cracks and crack propagation rate significantly increase,and the rock breaking critical time is shortened by up to 34.5%.Based on numerical simulation results,it was found that the center temperature of granite at 400℃ rapidly decreased from 390 to 260℃ within 0.7 s under jet impact.In addition,a critical temperature and critical heat flux prediction model considering the staged breaking of hot rocks was established.These findings provide valuable insights to guide the water jet technology assisted deep ground hot rock excavation project.

文摘The gear transmission system directly affects the operational performance of high-speed trains(HST).However,current research on gear transmission systems of HST often overlooks the effects of gear eccentricity and running resistance,and the dynamic models of gear transmission system are not sufficiently comprehensive.This paper aims to establish an electromechanical coupling dynamic model of HST traction transmission system and study its electromechanical coupling vibration characteristics,in which the internal excitation factors such as gear eccentricity,time-varying meshing stiffness,backlash,meshing error,and external excitation factors such as electromagnetic torque and running resistance are stressed.The research results indicate that gear eccentricity and running resistance have a significant impact on the stability of the system,and gear eccentricity leads to intensified system vibration and decreased anti-interference ability.In addition,the characteristic frequency of gear eccentricity can be extracted from mechanical signals and current signals as a preliminary basis for eccentricity detection,and electrical signals can also be used to monitor changes in train running resistance in real time.The results of this study provide some useful insights into designing dynamic performance parameters for HST transmission systems and monitoring train operational states.

文摘Waterproof performance of gaskets between segments is the focus of shield tunnels.This paper proposed an analytical method for determining seepage characteristics at tunnel-gasketed joints based on the hydraulic fracturing theories.First,the mathematical model was established,and the seepage governing equation and boundary conditions were obtained.Second,three dimensionless parameters were introduced for simplifying the expressions,and the seepage governing equations were normalized.Third,analytical expressions were derived for the interface opening and liquid pressure.Moreover,the influencing factors of seepage process at the gasketed interface were analyzed.Parametric analyses revealed that,in the normalized criterion of liquid viscosity,the liquid tip coordinate was influenced by the degree of negative pressure in the liquid lag region,which was related to the initial contact stress.The coordinate of the liquid tip affected the liquid pressure distribution and the interface opening,which were analyzed under different liquid tip coordinate conditions.Finally,under two limit states,comparative analysis showed that the results of the variation trend of the proposed method agree well with those of previous research.Overall,the proposed analytical method provides a novel solution for the design of the waterproof in shield tunnels.
文摘Aircraft disturbs the adjacent atmospheric environment in flight,forming spatial distribution features of atmospheric density that differ from the natural background,which may potentially be utilized as tracer characteristics to introduce new technologies for indirectly sensing the presence of aircraft.In this paper,the concept of a long-range aircraft detection based on the atmospheric disturbance density field is proposed,and the detection mode of tomographic imaging of the scattering light of an atmospheric disturbance flow field is designed.By modeling the spatial distribution of the disturbance density field,the scattered echo signal images of active light towards the disturbance field at long distance are simulated.On this basis,the characteristics of the disturbance optical signal at the optimal detection resolution are analyzed.The results show that the atmospheric disturbance flow field of the supersonic aircraft presents circular in the light-scattering echo images.The disturbance signal can be further highlighted by differential processing of the adjacent scattering images.As the distance behind the aircraft increases,the diffusion range of the disturbance signal increases,and the signal intensity and contrast with the background decrease.Under the ground-based observation conditions of the aircraft at a height of 10000 m,a Mach number of1.6,and a detection distance of 100 km,the contrast between the disturbance signal and the back-ground was 30 d B at a distance of one time from the rear of the fuselage,and the diffusion diameter of the disturbance signal was 50 m.At a distance eight times the length of the aircraft,the contrast decreased to 10 dB,and the diameter increased to 290 m.The contrast was reduced to 3 dB at a distance nine times the length of the aircraft,and the diameter was diffused to 310 m.These results indicate the possibility of long-range aircraft detection based on the characteristics of the atmospheric density field.
文摘This study examines the pivotal findings of the network meta-analysis of Zhou et al,which evaluated the efficacy of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy and combination therapies for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).This meta-analysis suggests that therapeutic combinations have greater efficacy than do standard treatments.The article highlights the key insights that have the potential to shift current clinical practice and enhance outcomes for patients with advanced HCC.Additionally,this article discusses further research that can be conducted to optimize these treatments and achieve personalized care for patients with HCC.

文摘Background There is a growing focus on using various plant-derived agricultural by-products to increase the benefits of pig farming,but these feedstuffs are fibrous in nature.This study investigated the relationship between dietary fiber physicochemical properties and feedstuff fermentation characteristics and their effects on nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,and gut microbiota in growing pigs.Methods Thirty-six growing barrows(47.2±1.5 kg)were randomly allotted to 6 dietary treatments with 2 apparent viscosity levels and 3β-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios.In the experiment,nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,fecal microbial community,and production and absorption of short-chain fatty acid(SCFA)of pigs were investigated.In vitro digestion and fermentation models were used to compare the fermentation characteristics of feedstuffs and ileal digesta in the pig’s hindgut.Results The production dynamics of SCFA and dry matter corrected gas production of different feedstuffs during in vitro fermentation were different and closely related to the physical properties and chemical structure of the fiber.In animal experiments,increasing the dietary apparent viscosity and theβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased the apparent ileal digestibility(AID),apparent total tract digestibility(ATTD),and hindgut digestibility of fiber components while decreasing the AID and ATTD of dry matter and organic matter(P<0.05).In addition,increasing dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased gas exchange,heat production,and protein oxidation,and decreased energy deposition(P<0.05).The dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucanto-arabinoxylan ratios had linear interaction effects on the digestible energy,metabolizable energy,retained energy(RE),and net energy(NE)of the diets(P<0.05).At the same time,the increase of dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios both increased SCFA production and absorption(P<0.05).Increasing the dietary apparent viscosity andβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios increased the diversity and abundance of bacteria(P<0.05)and the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria.Furthermore,increasing the dietaryβ-glucan-to-arabinoxylan ratios led to a linear increase in SCFA production during the in vitro fermentation of ileal digesta(P<0.001).Finally,the prediction equations for RE and NE were established.Conclusion Dietary fiber physicochemical properties alter dietary fermentation patterns and regulate nutrient utilization,energy metabolism,and pig gut microbiota composition and metabolites.

文摘A deep-sea mining riser is a crucial component of the system used to lift seafloor mineral resources to the vessel.It is prone to damage and failure because of harsh environmental conditions and internal fluid erosion.Furthermore,damage can impact the response characteristics of the riser,but varying environmental loadings easily mask it.Thus,distin-guishing between riser damage and environmental effects poses a considerable challenge.To address this issue,a cantilevered model is created for a deep-sea mining riser via the concentrated mass method,and a time-domain analytical strategy is developed.The vortex-induced vibration(VIV)response characteristics of the riser are initially examined,considering various damage conditions and flow velocities.The study results revealed four primary observations:(a)effective tension can serve as a reliable indicator for identifying damage at lower velocities;(b)there are noticeable differences in displacement between the healthy and damaged risers in the in-line direction rather than the cross-flow direction;(c)frequency characteristics can more effectively distinguish the damage conditions at high flow velocities,with the mean square frequency and frequency variance being more effective than the centroid frequency and root variance frequency;(d)displacement differences are more sensitive to damage occurring near the top and bottom of the riser,while both velocity variations and structural damage can influence displacements,especially in regions between modal nodes.The vibrational behavior and damage indicators are clarified for structural health monitoring of deep-sea mining risers during lifting operations.
