To solve the strictly nonlinear problem, a two-stage closed-form solution is proposed. In the first stage, the DOA and its changing rate are estimated from the CRPD of each observer by the pseudolinear least square (PLS) method, and then in the second stage, the source position and velocity are found by another PLS minimiza- tion. The bias of the algorithm caused by the correlation between the measurement matrix and the noise in the second stage is analyzed. To reduce this bias, an instrumental variable (IV) method is derived. A weighted IV estimator is given in order to reduce the estimation variance. The proposed method does not need any initial guess and the computation is small. The Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) and mean square error (MSE) are also analyzed. Simulation results show that the proposed method can be close to the CRLB with moderate Gaussian measurement noise.展开更多

The effects of the withdrawal rate on solidification microstructure, primary dendrite arm spacing(PDAS) and liquid solute distribution in front of the solid-liquid interface were investigated. The experimental results for the PDAS at a constant withdrawal rate agree well with the values calculated by the Hunt, Trivedi and Hunt-Lu models. At an abrupt change in the withdrawal rate, the maximum to minimum ratio of the PDAS at a given solidification parameter, i.e. λ1max/λ1min, is more than 2, and the PDAS values are remarkably history-dependent. Further, the liquid-solute distribution curve based on theoretical calculation shows that the larger the initial withdrawal rate is, the smaller the minimum of liquid solute concentration in front of the solid-liquid interface is after the abrupt change in withdrawal rate.展开更多

The earlier SSE lasted at least 9 years with M_(w) ~7.8 and had an average slip rate of ~82 mm/year. The latter SSE, occurring in a similar area, lasted approximately 2 years with M_(w) ~7.2 and an average slip rate of ~91 mm/year. To test whether these SSEs triggered earthquakes near the slow slip area, we calculated the Coulomb stressing rate changes on receiver faults by using two fault geometry definitions: nodal planes of focal mechanism solutions of past earthquakes, and optimally oriented fault planes. Regions in the shallow slab(30–60 km) that experienced a significant increase in the Coulomb stressing rate due to slip by the SSEs showed an increase in seismicity rates during SSE periods. No correlation was found in the volumes that underwent a significant increase in the Coulomb stressing rate during the SSE within the crust and the intermediate slab. We modeled variations in seismicity rates by using a combination of the Coulomb stress transfer model and the framework of rate-and-state friction. Our model indicated that the SSEs increased the Coulomb stress changes on adjacent faults, thereby increasing the seismicity rates even though the ratio of the SSE stressing rate to the background stressing rate was small. Each long-term SSE in Alaska brought the megathrust updip of the SSE areas closer to failure by up to 0.1–0.15 MPa. The volumes of significant Coulomb stress changes caused by the Upper and Lower Cook Inlet SSEs did not overlap.展开更多

The current trend of climate change towards the warming of the globe has resulted in various changes in the geological, climatology, social, economical, and bio-logical processes worldwide. Temperature of the globe has increased due to various factors, but anthropogenic plays a major contribution through the heavy input of Greenhouse gases. One of the world’s most remote regions that have been affected by most of the anthropogenic stresses on environmental services is the Arctic Region. The Arctic Region has shown various drastic changes and has shown to be effected by various anthropogenic activities that take place elsewhere. These changes include the ozone hole (resulting from ozone degrading compound emitted heavily by an-thropogenic demands), the accumulation of various persistent and volatile pollutants (i.e. POPs), and the meltdown of the polar ice (among others). These drastic changes are well perceived and well projected for future preparations. However, the question still remains if these impacts would only accelerate change. This paper aims to discuss if these changes are accelerating or happening at a constant rate. In addition, this paper aims to only focus on changes due to global warming and climate changes展开更多

文摘More and more uncertain factors in power systems and more and more complex operation modes of power systems put forward higher requirements for online transient stability assessment methods. The traditional modeldriven methods have clear physical mechanisms and reliable evaluation results but the calculation process is time-consuming,while the data-driven methods have the strong fitting ability and fast calculation speed but the evaluation results lack interpretation. Therefore,it is a future development trend of transient stability assessment methods to combine these two kinds of methods. In this paper, the rate of change of the kinetic energy method is used to calculate the transient stability in the model-driven stage, and the support vector machine and extreme learning machine with different internal principles are respectively used to predict the transient stability in the data-driven stage. In order to quantify the credibility level of the data-driven methods, the credibility index of the output results is proposed. Then the switching function controlling whether the rate of change of the kinetic energy method is activated or not is established based on this index. Thus,a newparallel integratedmodel-driven and datadriven online transient stability assessment method is proposed. The accuracy, efficiency, and adaptability of the proposed method are verified by numerical examples.

文摘The authors analyzed the relationship between variations of the Earth's rotation rate and the geodynamic processes within the Earth's body, including seismic activity, The rotation rate of a planet determines its uniaxial compression along the axis of rotation and the areas of various surface elements of the body. The Earth's ellipticity variations, caused naturally by the rotation rate variations, are manifested in vertical components of precise GPS measurements. Comparative analysis of these variations is considered in view of modern theoretical ideas concerning the Earth's figure. The results justify further research that is of interest for improvement of space svstems and technologiesi.
文摘Climate Change is a global phenomenon that has a global scale impact. In addition, this paper aims to only focus on changes due to global warming and climate changes

文摘This paper highlights the crucial role of Indonesia’s GNSS receiver network in advancing Equatorial Plasma Bubble(EPB)studies in Southeast and East Asia,as ionospheric irregularities within EPB can disrupt GNSS signals and degrade positioning accuracy.Managed by the Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency(BIG),the Indonesia Continuously Operating Reference Station(Ina-CORS)network comprises over 300 GNSS receivers spanning equatorial to southern low-latitude regions.Ina-CORS is uniquely situated to monitor EPB generation, zonal drift, and dissipation across Southeast Asia.We provide a practical tool for EPB research,by sharing two-dimensional rate of Total Electron Content(TEC)change index(ROTI)derived from this network. We generate ROTI maps with a 10-minute resolution, and samples from May 2024 are publicly available for further scientific research. Two preliminary findings from the ROTI maps of Ina-CORS are noteworthy.First, the Ina-CORS ROTI maps reveal that the irregularities within a broader EPB structure persist longer, increasing the potential for these irregularities to migrate farther eastward.Second,we demonstrate that combined ROTI maps from Ina-CORS and GNSS receivers in East Asia and Australia can be used to monitor the development of ionospheric irregularities in Southeast and East Asia.We have demonstrated the combined ROTI maps to capture the development of ionospheric irregularities in the Southeast/East Asian sector during the G5 Geomagnetic Storm on May 11,2024.We observed simultaneous ionospheric irregularities in Japan and Australia, respectively propagating northwestward and southwestward, before midnight, whereas Southeast Asia’s equatorial and low-latitude regions exhibited irregularities post-midnight.By sharing ROTI maps from Indonesia and integrating them with regional GNSS networks, researchers can conduct comprehensive EPB studies, enhancing the understanding of EPB behavior across Southeast and East Asia and contributing significantly to ionospheric research.

文摘Thermal shock,a phenomenon known to cause rock fracturing, has gained increasing significance with advancements in enhanced geothermal systems. In this comprehensive review,we delve into the intricacies of thermal shock in rocks, exploring its mechanisms, mechanical interpretations, impacts, and applications.Despite generations of researchers'attempts to identify the conditions that trigger thermal shock and propose various thresholds for heating rates, temperatures, and durations, establishing a universal threshold remains elusive.Commonly adopted heating rate threshold of 2℃/min and critical temperature around 75℃still require further experimental data and theoretical model support. This study scrutinizes the typical thermal shock process in rocks during heating and cooling, employing both microscopic and macroscopic approaches. To examine the effects of thermal shock,we compile and analyze published experimental findings on rock physico-mechanical properties under rapid heating, cooling, and cyclic conditions. Our review reveals that both external and internal conditions significantly impact a rock's response to thermal shock. We assess several analytical equations related to rock thermal shock;nevertheless,a thorough and strong mechanical model is still required.Thermal shock can be harnessed to support underground rock engineering project design and construction, ranging from thermal spallation drilling to cryogenic fracturing. This review examines the evolution of thermal spallation drilling regarding mechanical models and experimental investigations, and discusses cryogenic fracturing in terms of mechanisms, advantages, application cases, and future developments.Serving as a crucial resource, this review paper consolidates the current understanding of thermal shock in rocks, enabling researchers and engineers to develop improved, sustainable solutions for underground engineering projects that cater to the growing demand for underground space and energy.

文摘Deep mining, characterized by high stress, elevated geothermal gradients, and significant moisture content, significantly increases the risk of Coal Spontaneous Combustion(CSC),posing a major threat to mine safety. This study delves into the impact of these factors on the self-ignition properties of coal, leveraging data from four distinctmines inHeilongjiang Province,China:ShuangyashanDongrongNo.2 Mine,Hegang JundeCoal Mine,Qitaihe Longhu Coal Mine, and Jixi Ronghua No.1Mine.We have honed the theoretical framework to account for variations in gas content during CSC.Our investigation, conducted through programmed temperature rise experiments, scrutinized the generation and temperature-dependent evolution of gases, emphasizing individual indicators such as CO,O_(2),and CxHy,in addition to composite indicators like the ratio of change in CO to change in O_(2) concentration(∂C_(CO)/∂t:−∂C_(O_(2))/∂t)and the ratio of C2H4 to C_(2)H_(6).These insights have catalyzed the development of a CSC state energy level transition model and a precise method for phase-based quantification of combustion progression. Our findings furnish a scientific foundation for the formulation of early warning and prevention strategies in deep mining settings.

文摘With the growing adoption of artificial intelligence algorithms and neural networks, online learning and adaptive methods for updating the bandwidth have become increasingly prevalent. However, the conditions required to ensure closed-loop stability when employing a time-varying bandwidth,as well as the supporting mathematical foundations, remain insufficiently studied. This paper investigates the stability condition for active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)with a time-varying bandwidth extended state observer(ESO).A new stability condition is derived, which means that the upper bound of rate of change for ESO bandwidth should be restricted. Moreover, under the proposed condition, the closed-loop stability of ADRC with a time-varying bandwidth observer is rigorously proved for nonlinear uncertainties. In simulations, the necessity of the proposed condition is illustrated, demonstrating that the rate of change of ESO bandwidth is crucial for closed-loop stability.

文摘To explore the factors controlling human activity in Northeast Asia during the last deglaciation, this study synthesizes six pollen records from lakes and peatlands, alongside four paleotemperature records from terrestrial sedimentary sequences in this region. We simulated potential hunter-gatherer population densities using the Minimalist Terrestrial Resource Model(MTRM),and calculated vegetation openness, rate of change, and evenness based on pollen data. The results reveal a direct relationship between plant resources and hunter-gatherer populations from 20.9 to 10.2 ka BP.The synchronous increases in plant resources and population density from the Last Glacial(LG)to the B?lling-Aller?d(BA)warm period,as well as from the Younger Dryas(YD)to the early Holocene(EH),with stasis during the YD,suggest that resource availability was a key driver of human activity.Redundancy analysis(RDA)of pollen and paleotemperature records indicated that vegetation and plant resources were more closely linked to the mean annual air temperature, with winter characteristics, from the LG to the YD,whereas warm-season temperatures played a more significant role during the EH.This research emphasizes that variations in resource accessibility, rather than direct climate effects alone, were likely pivotal in shaping human activity responses to environmental changes.
