This places pressure on human settlements and sustainable development. However, few studies have investigated the SUHI effects from the perspective of HWs. In this study, the summer HWs in Beijing from 2001 to 2021 were calculated, and the evolution of HWs and SUHIs was quantitatively analyzed based on the dynamic nature of the urban-rural boundary. Beijing experienced 27 HWs in the 21 years, including 10 instances in June, four in July, and 13 in August. The SUHI varied during HWs, between 2–3℃ in most years. The highest SUHI occurred in 2019, reaching 3.99℃ and covering the largest area(10,887 km^(2)). The fluctuation in HWs and SUHIs generally displayed the same spatiotemporal pattern, and HWs amplified the SUHIs to a certain extent, with the highest correlation coefficient being 0.44. Additionally, impervious surfaces and cropland contributed most to SUHIs,and night light enhanced SUHIs. Observing the co-evolution of HWs and SUHIs will be helpful for ecological maintenance and urban infrastructure optimization and provide theoretical support for reducing heat risk and improving the human settlement environment.展开更多

The system can rapidly provide a double couple solution and centroid depth within 5–15 min after receiving earthquake information from the ERR system. The data processing is triggered by earthquake information obtained from the ERR system. The system is capable of determining the focal mechanism of all shallow-depth earthquakes in the Chinese mainland with a magnitude of 5.5–6.5. It utilizes waveform data recorded by seismic stations located within 500 km from the epicenter, enabling the reporting of a focal mechanism solution within 5–15 min of an earthquake occurrence. Additionally, the system can assign a corresponding grade(A B C) to the focal mechanism solution. We processed a total of 301earthquakes that occurred from 2021 to June 2022, and after the quality control, 166 of them were selected. These selected solutions were manually checked, and 160 of them were compiled in a focal mechanism catalog. This catalog can be conveniently downloaded online via the Internet. The automatic focal mechanism solution of earthquakes in eastern China exhibits a good agreement with that provided by the Global Centroid Moment Tensor(GCMT), when available. The average Kagan angle between this catalog and GCMT is 22°, and the average difference in MWis 0.17. Furthermore, compared with GCMT, the minimum magnitude of our catalog has been reduced from approximately 5.0 to 4.0. The correlation between the centroid depth and crustal thickness in the Chinese mainland confirms the distribution of the centroid depth.展开更多

The flexural bending and shear that arise with applied axial torsion are each considered theoretically and numerically in terms of two longitudinal axes of loading not coincident with the shear centre. In particular, the warping displacements, stiffness and stress distributions are calculated for torsion applied to longitudinal axes passing through the section’s centroid and its web centre. The stress conversions derived from each action are superimposed to reveal a net sectional stress distribution. Therein, the influence of the axis position upon the net axial and shear stress distributions is established compared to previous results for each beam when loading is referred to a flexural axis through the shear centre. Within the net stress analysis is, it is shown how the constraint to free warping presented by the end fixing modifies the axial stress. The latter can be identified with the action of a ‘bimoment’ upon each thin-walled section.展开更多

Moreover, the gray scale centroid algorithm is applied to obtain the subpixel location of both uncoded and coded targets. The initial matching of the uncoded target correspondences between an image pair is established according to similarity and compatibility, which are based on the ID correspondences of the coded targets. The outliers in the initial matching of the uncoded target are eliminated according to three rules to finally obtain the uncoded target correspondences. Practical examples show that the algorithm is rapid, robust and is of high precision and matching ratio.展开更多

文摘Daytime star images captured by dedicated near-space star sensors are characterized by short exposures, high noise, and low Signal-to-Noise Ratios(SNRs).Such imaging is also affected by atmospheric turbulence, causing optical phenomena, such as scintillation, distortion, and jitter. This causes difficulty in recording high-precision star images during the daytime. This study proposes an adaptive star point extraction method based on dynamically predicting stars'positions.First,it predicts the approximate position of stars based on the star catalog, sensor attitude, observation time, and other information, improving the extraction accuracy.Second,it employs a regional SNR sorting method that adaptively selects star images with higher SNRs,suppressing the scintillation effect and enhancing the SNR of star images.Third, depending on the star's motion trajectory characteristics on the image plane,it utilizes the centroid smoothing method for extraction, thus overcoming the impact of star drift.Field experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively overcome star scintillation, drift, and irregular imaging caused by atmospheric turbulence, achieving a 100%success rate. Moreover, the extraction accuracy improves by more than 80%compared to traditional adaptive methods, attaining a value of 0.05 pixels(0.5"),thereby meeting the requirements of daytime astronomical attitude determination and positioning.

文摘Understanding the ecological evolution is of great significance in addressing the impacts of climate change and human activities. However, the ecological evolution and its drivers remain inadequately explored in arid and semi-arid areas. This study took the Helan Mountain,a typical arid and semi-arid area in China,as the study area.By adopting an Enhanced Remote Sensing Ecological Index(ERSEI)that integrates the habitat quality(HQ)index with the Remote Sensing Ecological Index(RSEI),we quantified the ecological environment quality of the Helan Mountain during 2010-2022 and analyzed the driving factors behind the changes.Principal Component Analysis(PCA)was used to validate the composite ERSEI,enabling the extraction of key features and the reduction of redundant information. The results showed that the contributions of first principal component(PC1)for ERSEI and RSEI were 80.23%and 78.72%,respectively,indicating that the ERSEI can provide higher precision and more details than the RSEI in assessing ecological environment quality.Temporally, the ERSEI in the Helan Mountain exhibited an initial decline followed by an increase from 2010 to 2022,with the average value of ERSEI ranging between 0.298 and 0.346.Spatially,the ERSEI showed a trend of being higher in the southwest and lower in the northeast, with high-quality ecological environments mainly concentrated in the western foothills at higher altitudes. The centroid of ERSEI shifted northeastward toward Helan County from 2010 to 2022.Temperature and digital elevation model(DEM)emerged as the primary drivers of ERSEI changes. This study highlights the necessity of using comprehensive monitoring tools to guide policy-making and conservation strategies, ensuring the resilience of fragile ecosystems in the face of ongoing climatic and anthropogenic pressures. The findings offer valuable insights for the sustainable management and conservation in arid and semi-arid ecosystems.

文摘On August 6,2023,a magnitude MW5.5 earthquake struck Pingyuan County,Dezhou City,Shandong Province,China. This event was significant as no large earthquakes had been recorded in the region for over a century, and no active fault had been previously identified. This study collects 1309 P-wave arrival times and 866 S-wave arrival times from 74 seismic stations less than 200 km to the epicenter to constrain the spatial distribution of the mainshock and its 125 early aftershocks by the double difference earthquake relocation method, and selects 864 P-waveforms from 288 stations located within 800 km of the epicenter to constrain the focal mechanism solution of the mainshock through centroid moment tensor inversion. The relocation and the inversion indicate, the Pingyuan MW5.5 earthquake was caused by a rupture on a buried fault, likely an extensive segment of the Gaotang fault. This buried fault exhibited a dip of approximately 75°to the northwest, with a strike of 222°,similar to the Gaotang fault. The rupture initiated at the depth of 18.6 km and propagated upward and northeastward. However, the ground surface was not broken. The total duration of the rupture was~6.0 s,releasing the scalar moment of 2.5895×1017 N·m,equivalent to MW5.54.The moment rate reached the maximum only 1.4 seconds after the rupture initiation, and the 90%scalar moment was released in the first 4.6 s.In the first 1.4 seconds of the rupture process, the rupture velocity was estimated to be 2.6 km/s,slower than the local S-wave velocity. As the rupture neared its end,the rupture velocity decreased significantly. This study provides valuable insights into the seismic characteristics of the Pingyuan MW5.5 earthquake, shedding light on the previously unidentified buried fault responsible for the seismic activity in the region.Understanding the behavior of such faults is crucial for assessing seismic hazards and enhancing earthquake preparedness in the future.

文摘Compliance motion and footstep adjustment are active balance control strategies from learning human subconscious behaviors. The force estimation without direct end-actuator force measurement and the optimal footsteps based on complex analytical calculation are still challenging tasks for elementary and kid-size position-controlled robots. In this paper,an online compliant controller with Gravity Projection Observer(GPO),which can express the external force condition of perturbations by the estimated Projection of Gravity(PoG)with estimation covariance,is proposed for the realization of disturbance absorption, with which the robustness of the humanoid contact with environments can be maintained. The fuzzy footstep planner based on capturability analysis is proposed, and the Model Predictive Control(MPC)is applied to generate the desired steps. The fuzzification rules are well-designed and give the corresponding control output responding to complex and changeable external disturbances. To validate the presented methods,a series of experiments on a real humanoid robot are conducted. The results verify the effectiveness of the proposed balance control framework.

文摘Many cities face heat wave(HW) events, combined with the existent surface urban heat island(SUHI) effects. Observing the co-evolution of HWs and SUHIs will be helpful for ecological maintenance and urban infrastructure optimization and provide theoretical support for reducing heat risk and improving the human settlement environment.

文摘In recent years, various adversarial defense methods have been proposed to improve the robustness of deep neural networks.Adversarial training is one of the most potent methods to defend against adversarial attacks. However, the difference in the feature space between natural and adversarial examples hinders the accuracy and robustness of the model in adversarial training. This paper proposes a learnable distribution adversarial training method, aiming to construct the same distribution for training data utilizing the Gaussian mixture model. The distribution centroid is built to classify samples and constrain the distribution of the sample features. The natural and adversarial examples are pushed to the same distribution centroid to improve the accuracy and robustness of the model. The proposed method generates adversarial examples to close the distribution gap between the natural and adversarial examples through an attack algorithm explicitly designed for adversarial training. This algorithm gradually increases the accuracy and robustness of the model by scaling perturbation. Finally, the proposed method outputs the predicted labels and the distance between the sample and the distribution centroid. The distribution characteristics of the samples can be utilized to detect adversarial cases that can potentially evade the model defense. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through comprehensive experiments.

文摘Storm surge is often the marine disaster that poses the greatest threat to life and property in coastal areas.Accurate and timely issuance of storm surge warnings to take appropriate countermeasures is an important means to reduce storm surge-related losses.Storm surge numerical models are important for storm surge forecasting. To further improve the performance of the storm surge forecast models,we developed a numerical storm surge forecast model based on an unstructured spherical centroidal Voronoi tessellation(SCVT)grid. The model is based on shallow water equations in vector-invariant form, and is discretized by Arakawa C grid. The SCVT grid can not only better describe the coastline information but also avoid rigid transitions, and it has a better global consistency by generating high-resolution grids in the key areas through transition refinement. In addition, the simulation speed of the model is accelerated by using the openACC-based GPU acceleration technology to meet the timeliness requirements of operational ensemble forecast. It only takes 37 s to simulate a day in the coastal waters of China. The newly developed storm surge model was applied to simulate typhoon-induced storm surges in the coastal waters of China. The hindcast experiments on the selected representative typhoon-induced storm surge processes indicate that the model can reasonably simulate the distribution characteristics of storm surges. The simulated maximum storm surges and their occurrence times are consistent with the observed data at the representative tide gauge stations, and the mean absolute errors are 3.5 cm and 0.6 h respectively, showing high accuracy and application prospects.

文摘The purpose of this research was to suggest an applicable procedure for computing the centroid moment tensor(CMT)automatically and in real time from earthquakes that occur in Indonesia and the surrounding areas.Gisola software was used to estimate the CMT solution by selecting the velocity model that best suited the local and regional geological conditions in Indonesia and the surrounding areas. The data used in this study were earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.4 to 8.0.High-quality,real-time broadband seismographic data were provided by the International Federation of Digital Seismograph Networks Web Services(FDSNWS)and the European Integrated Data Archive(EIDA)Federation in Indonesia and the surrounding areas.Furthermore, the inversion process and filter adjustment were carried out on the seismographic data to obtain good CMT solutions. The CMT solutions from Gisola provided good-quality solutions,in which all earthquake data had A-level quality(high quality, with good variant reduction). The Gisola CMT solution was justified with the Global CMT(GCMT)solution by using the Kagan angle value, with an average of approximately 11.2°.This result suggested that the CMT solution generated from Gisola was trustworthy and reliable. The Gisola CMT solution was typically available within approximately 15 minutes after an earthquake occurred.Once it met the quality requirement,it was automatically published on the internet. The catalog of local and regional earthquake records obtained through this technology holds great promise for improving the current understanding of regional seismic activity and ongoing tectonic processes. The accurate and real-time CMT solution generated by implementing the Gisola algorithm consisted of moment tensors and moment magnitudes, which provided invaluable insights into earthquakes occurring in Indonesia and the surrounding areas.

文摘We have developed an automatic regional focal mechanism inversion system based on the Earthquake Rapid Report(ERR) system and the real-time three-component seismic waveform stream of 1 000 broadband seismic stations provided by the China Earthquake Networks Center(CENC). The correlation between the centroid depth and crustal thickness in the Chinese mainland confirms the distribution of the centroid depth.

文摘The dynamic motion capability of humanoid robots is a key indicator for evaluating their performance.Jumping,as a typical dynamic motion,is of great significance for enhancing the robot’s flexibility and terrain adaptability in unstructured environments. However, achieving high-dynamic jumping control of humanoid robots has become a challenge due to the high degree of freedom and strongly coupled dynamic characteristics. The idea for this paper originated from the human response process to jumping commands, aiming to achieve online trajectory optimization and jumping motion control of humanoid robots.Firstly,we employ nonlinear optimization in combination with the Single Rigid Body Model(SRBM)to generate a robot’s Center of Mass(CoM)trajectory that complies with physical constraints and minimizes the angular momentum of the CoM.Then,a Model Predictive Controller(MPC)is designed to track and control the CoM trajectory, obtaining the required contact forces at the robot’s feet. Finally,a Whole-Body Controller(WBC)is used to generate full-body joint motion trajectories and driving torques, based on the prioritized sequence of tasks designed for the jumping process. The control framework proposed in this paper considers the dynamic characteristics of the robot’s jumping process, with a focus on improving the real-time performance of trajectory optimization and the robustness of controller.Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that our robot successfully executed high jump motions, long jump motions and continuous jump motions under complex working conditions.
文摘Three aluminium channel sections of US standard extruded dimension are mounted as cantilevers with x-axis symmetry. The latter can be identified with the action of a ‘bimoment’ upon each thin-walled section.
文摘This study used Topological Weighted Centroid (TWC) to analyze the Coronavirus outbreak in Brazil. This analysis only uses latitude and longitude in formation of the capitals with the confirmed cases on May 24, 2020 to illustrate the usefulness of TWC though any date could have been used. There are three types of TWC analyses, each type having five associated algorithms that produce fifteen maps, TWC-Original, TWC-Frequency and TWC-Windowing. We focus on TWC-Original to illustrate our approach. The TWC method without using the transportation information predicts the network for COVID-19 outbreak that matches very well with the main radial transportation routes network in Brazil.

文摘Based on the coded and non-coded targets, the targets are extracted from the images according to their size, shape and intensity etc., and thus an improved method to identify the unique identity(D) of every coded target is put forward and the non-coded and coded targets are classified. Practical examples show that the algorithm is rapid, robust and is of high precision and matching ratio.
