Methods: retrospective analysis was made on the data of 56 regular trainees and interns who received teaching rounds in the department of geriatrics from January 2018 to December 2019. They were grouped according to their years. Among them, 28 regular trainees and interns from January 2018 to December 2018 were included in the control group to carry out traditional teaching rounds. 28 regular trainees and interns from January 2019 to December 2019 were included in the research group to carry out case oriented teaching rounds, The evaluation and comparison of the application effect of the two teaching rounds are carried out from the aspects of graduation results (including theoretical results and practical skills assessment results), teaching satisfaction, and teaching quality. Results: the scores of graduation examination of the study groups regular trainees and interns were higher than those of the control group. The scores of teaching satisfaction and total satisfaction in learning experience, professional knowledge mastery, interaction with teachers, practical skills mastery effect, teaching mode and other aspects were higher than those of the control group. The excellent rate of teaching quality was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: the application of case oriented teaching rounds in geriatric teaching is helpful to improve students achievement, teaching quality and teaching satisfaction.展开更多
