Although lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)currently dominate a wide spectrum of energy storage applications,they face challenges such as fast cycle life decay and poor stability that hinder their further application.To address these limitations,element doping has emerged as a prevalent strategy to enhance the discharge capacity and extend the durability of Li-Ni-Co-Mn(LNCM)ternary compounds.This study utilized a machine learning-driven feature screening method to effectively pinpoint four key features crucially impacting the initial discharge capacity(IC)of Li-Ni-Co-Mn(LNCM)ternary cathode materials.These features were also proved highly predictive for the 50^(th)cycle discharge capacity(EC).Additionally,the application of SHAP value analysis yielded an in-depth understanding of the interplay between these features and discharge performance.This insight offers valuable direction for future advancements in the development of LNCM cathode materials,effectively promoting this field toward greater efficiency and sustainability. 展开更多

Tensile Strain Capacity Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) Using Soft Computing Techniques

Plain concrete is strong in compression but brittle in tension,having a low tensile strain capacity that can significantly degrade the long-term performance of concrete structures,even when steel reinforcing is present.In order to address these challenges,short polymer fibers are randomly dispersed in a cement-based matrix to forma highly ductile engineered cementitious composite(ECC).Thismaterial exhibits high ductility under tensile forces,with its tensile strain being several hundred times greater than conventional concrete.Since concrete is inherently weak in tension,the tensile strain capacity(TSC)has become one of the most extensively researched properties.As a result,developing a model to predict the TSC of the ECC and to optimize the mixture proportions becomes challenging.Meanwhile,the effort required for laboratory trial batches to determine the TSC is reduced.To achieve the research objectives,five distinct models,artificial neural network(ANN),nonlinear model(NLR),linear relationship model(LR),multi-logistic model(MLR),and M5P-tree model(M5P),are investigated and employed to predict the TSCof ECCmixtures containing fly ash.Data from115 mixtures are gathered and analyzed to develop a new model.The input variables include mixture proportions,fiber length and diameter,and the time required for curing the various mixtures.The model’s effectiveness is evaluated and verified based on statistical parameters such as R2,mean absolute error(MAE),scatter index(SI),root mean squared error(RMSE),and objective function(OBJ)value.Consequently,the ANN model outperforms the others in predicting the TSC of the ECC,with RMSE,MAE,OBJ,SI,and R2 values of 0.42%,0.3%,0.33%,0.135%,and 0.98,respectively. 展开更多

Transition metal sulfide(TMS)anodes exhibit the characteristics of phase stability and high capacity for lithium/sodium-ion batteries(LIBs/SIBs).However,the TMS anodes often suffer from poor electronic conductivity,low ionic diffusion and large volume expansion during Li/Na-ion intercalation significantly impairing the Li/Na-storage performance.Herein,a long chain heterostructure composed of the Co_(9)S_(8) and SnS are first reported,which can generate rich phase interfaces,and small crystal domains.The unique structure can facilitate the properties of reactivity,conductivity and ionic diffusion.In addition,the heterostructure surface is modified by the N-doped carbon(N-DC@(CoSn)S),successfully improving the structural stability.The synergistic effects of Co_(9)S_(8)/SnS heterostructure and coated carbon layer effectively increase the capacity and cycling stability.The N-DC@(CoSn)S anode delivers enhanced high specific capacities of 820.6 mAh·g^(−1) at 1.0 A·g^(–1) after 500 cycles for LIBs and 339.2 mAh·g^(–1)at 0.5 A·g^(–1) after 1000 cycles for SIBs,respectively.This work is expected to provide a material design idea for preparing LIBs/SIBs with high capacity and long cycling life. 展开更多

A Systems Approach to Assessing Sustainability Capacity in Kalobeyei Refugee Settlement in Turkana County, Kenya

Refugee settlements face several challenges in transitioning from a temporary planning approach to more sustainable settlements. This is mainly due to an increase in the number of forcibly displaced people over the last few decades, and the difficulties of sustainably providing social services that meet the required standards. The development of refugee settlements assumed that forcibly displaced people would return to their places or countries of origin. Unfortunately, displacement situations are prolonged indefinitely, forcing these people to spend most of their lives in conditions that are often deplorable and substandard, and therefore unsustainable. In most cases, the establishment of refugee settlements is triggered by an emergency caused by an influx of forcibly displaced people, who need to be accommodated urgently and provided with some form of international assistance and protection. This leaves little or no time for proper planning for long-term development as required. In addition, the current approach to temporary settlement harms the environment and can strain limited resources with ad hoc development models that have exacerbated difficulties. As a result, living conditions in refugee settlements have deteriorated over the last few decades and continue to pose challenges as to how best to design, plan, and sustain settlements over time. To contribute to addressing these challenges, this study proposes a new methodology supported by Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and a Systems Modeling Language (SysML) to develop a typical sustainable human settlement system model, which has functionally and operationally executed using a Systems Engineering (SE) approach. To assess the sustainability capacity of the proposed system, this work applies a matrix of crossed impact multiplication through a case study by conducting a system capacity interdependence analysis (SCIA) using the MICMAC methodology (Cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification) to assess the interdependency that exist between the sub-systems categories to deliver services at the system level. The sustainability analysis results based on capacity variables influence and dependency models shows that development activities in the settlement are unstable and, therefore, unsustainable since there is no apparent difference between the influential and dependent data used for the assessment. These results illustrate that an integrated system could improve human settlements’ sustainability and that capacity building in service delivery is beneficial and necessary. 展开更多

In order to realize the in-situ evaluation of reinforced concrete bridges subjected to fatigue for a long time or after earthquake, an evaluation method for cumulative damage of concrete structures based on unloading elastic modulus was proposed. First, according to the concrete stress-strain curve and the statistical relationship between residual strain and cumulative strain, the calculation method of static equivalent strain and residual strain concrete based on unloading elastic modulus and the method for estimating the strength of concrete after damage were proposed. The detailed steps of field test and analysis and the practical damage indicators of residual strain were given. Then, the evaluation method of existing stress and strain of Reinforced Concrete Bridge under dead load and the concept of “equivalent dead load bending moment” were put forward. On this basis, the paper analyzed the root cause of the decrease of bearing capacity of Reinforced Concrete Bridge after fatigue damage, and pointed out that the equivalent strain or residual strain of reinforced concrete increases under the fatigue effect, which led to the decreasing of actual live moment and deformation performance while the ultimate load-carrying capacity remained constant or very little decrease. The evaluation method of structure residual capacity was given, and through comparative analysis of eight T reinforced concrete beams that had been in service for 35 years with the static failure tests, the effectiveness of the method was verified. 展开更多

Combined with the actual situation of the western region city of Zunyi, the three subsystems including social, economic and natural environment evaluation index systems of ECC have been built based on the theory of ecological carrying capacity(ECC). In addition, the factor analysis method has been used and the influence factors on the ECC in the economic transition have been gained. The results show that factors of ECC in the three subsystems have different influence: 1) the natural subsystem, which contains factors on the ECC, has obvious limitation, and it has the greatest influence on industrial waste discharge per capita; 2) the social subsystem has a restriction on the ECC, which affects the traffic environment mostly; 3) the economic subsystem has a certain restriction on ECC, which has a large effect on the consumption level per capita. 展开更多

Use of indices that quantify the seismic residual capacity of buildings damaged in earthquakes is one way to draw judgements on the building’s safety and possibility of future use.In Japanese damage assessment guidelines,several approximate calculation methods exist to evaluate the residual capacity of buildings based on visually observed damage and simplifying assumptions on the nature of the building’s response mechanism and member capacities.While these methods provide a useful residual capacity ratio that enables a‘relative’comparison be-tween buildings,the exact relationship to a physically meaningful residual capacity is unclear.The aim of this study is to benchmark the‘approximations’of residual capacity.To do so,a shake-table test was conducted on a 14 scale 4-storey RC structure and a residual capacity evaluation was undertaken based on observed damage states.With the help of a numerical model,a benchmark residual capacity at each of the damage states is determined and compared to the approximate residual capacity calculation results via guidelines.It was found that approx-imate methods are generally accurate prior to yield but can become overly conservative post-yield.Simplifying assumptions of equal member deformation capacity used in the residual capacity ratio calculation was found to be suitable given constraints of rapid field evaluations. 展开更多

为研究工程水泥基复合材料(ECC)加固无筋砌体(URM)墙的抗剪性能,考虑单、双侧加固和加固厚度等因素,完成了16个ECC加固URM墙和2个无加固对比件的压剪试验,对比分析了ECC对URM墙抗剪性能的影响。考虑整体刚度系数和面层强度发挥系数,采... 为研究工程水泥基复合材料(ECC)加固无筋砌体(URM)墙的抗剪性能,考虑单、双侧加固和加固厚度等因素,完成了16个ECC加固URM墙和2个无加固对比件的压剪试验,对比分析了ECC对URM墙抗剪性能的影响。考虑整体刚度系数和面层强度发挥系数,采用叠加法,提出了一种基于整体假定的ECC加固URM墙抗剪承载力计算公式。结果表明,ECC面层加固将URM墙原有的脆性破坏转变为延性破坏。无论单、双侧加固,厚度为25 mm试件的开裂剪切强度、极限剪切强度与开裂剪切模量的提升比例均最高,相比未加固试件分别提升115.78%、85.36%、90.34%和153.73%、110.56%、136.23%。利用所提公式得到的单、双侧加固计算值与试验值之比的平均值分别为92.9%和91.4%,标准差分别为2.82%和4.80%,该计算方法可为ECC加固URM墙技术应用提供参考。 展开更多

以钢管约束混凝土(STCC)短柱为研究背景,聚焦于数据和特征的选择与前处理、模型的可视化应用以及特征重要性分析,探究机器学习“黑匣子”背后的预测过程。以154根圆STCC短柱为例,进行学习并预测其极限承载力N_(u)。讨论了STCC短柱结构... 以钢管约束混凝土(STCC)短柱为研究背景,聚焦于数据和特征的选择与前处理、模型的可视化应用以及特征重要性分析,探究机器学习“黑匣子”背后的预测过程。以154根圆STCC短柱为例,进行学习并预测其极限承载力N_(u)。讨论了STCC短柱结构中常见的9个特征的相关性以及冗余性,从13个机器学习模型中筛选出梯度提升树(GBDT)、随机森林(Random Forest)、极端梯度提升(XGBoost)和极端随机树(Extra Trees)四个最优模型对STCC的极限轴压承载力N_(u)进行预测,并采用SHAP可解释方法对4种模型进行可视化对比分析。研究表明:截面含钢率α在统计分析中方差趋于零且与径厚比B/t呈完全负相关关系;约束效应系数ζ在F检验中与N_(u)的显著性水平小于5%,斯皮尔曼、皮尔森以及互信息量相关性分析均表明其与N_(u)弱相关。通过SHAP方法对上述4种模型可视化发现,XGBoost在测试集上的表现尤为突出,其决定系数R^(2)(0.9626)、均方根误差(287.40 kN)、平均绝对误差(139.13 kN)以及平均绝对百分比误差(5.1%)均为4个模型中的最低值。此外,XGBoost在泛化能力和避免过拟合方面也表现出色,因此更适用于STCC短柱轴压承载力预测。 展开更多

【目的】解决岩溶区穿越多层溶洞桩基承载力的取值问题。【方法】依据相似原理开展了穿越不同高度双层溶洞桩基承载力的室内模型试验。【结果】通过分析桩基与溶洞顶板及隔板的破坏模式,得到桩身稳定系数的取值范围,并总结出桩基极限承... 【目的】解决岩溶区穿越多层溶洞桩基承载力的取值问题。【方法】依据相似原理开展了穿越不同高度双层溶洞桩基承载力的室内模型试验。【结果】通过分析桩基与溶洞顶板及隔板的破坏模式,得到桩身稳定系数的取值范围,并总结出桩基极限承载力的变化规律。【结论】1)桩基极限承载力随溶洞洞高的增加而逐渐减小,在达到6倍桩径的临界洞高时,桩身破坏模式由桩顶材料受压鼓胀破坏转变为桩身屈曲失稳破坏。2)溶洞顶板与隔板的破坏模式与两侧基岩约束类型及桩侧摩阻力的大小有关。两端固支条件下溶洞顶板、隔板整体破坏模式类似于集中荷载作用下的两端固支板受弯破坏。桩-岩接触处发生局部剪切、冲切组合破坏。3)在桩周岩土体不发生破坏的前提下,当溶洞洞高小于6倍桩径时,桩基发生桩顶材料受压鼓胀破坏,其极限承载力取决于桩基自身材料的强度;当溶洞洞高大于或等于6倍桩径时,上层溶洞段桩身发生屈曲失稳破坏,其极限承载力取决于桩身临空段的屈曲承载力。 展开更多

为了解决方钢管-再生混凝土叠合柱(square steel pipe-recycled aggregated concrete composite-columns,SP-RAC-C)耐久性以及延性差等问题,提出一种工程水泥基复合材料(engineered cementitious composites,ECC)-方钢管-再生混凝土叠合... 为了解决方钢管-再生混凝土叠合柱(square steel pipe-recycled aggregated concrete composite-columns,SP-RAC-C)耐久性以及延性差等问题,提出一种工程水泥基复合材料(engineered cementitious composites,ECC)-方钢管-再生混凝土叠合柱(ECC-SP-RAC-C),通过数值仿真分析探究宽厚比、材料强度和再生骨料取代率等参数对其轴压力学性能的影响规律,得到该型叠合柱的轴压承载力计算公式。结果表明:ECC-SP-RAC-C在延性、耗能和承载力等指标上均优于RAC-SP-RAC叠合柱;宽厚比越小(ECC壳越厚)则试件的延性越高,但承载力和耗能能力降低;随着钢管强度或厚度的增加,试件的承载力、耗能和延性均增加,但钢管强度越高ECC的作用越小,而钢管厚度影响反之;ECC、RAC强度的提高均增加了叠合柱的承载力和耗能能力,低强度的ECC、高强度的核心RAC展现了更好的组合效应和良好的延性;随着再生粗骨料取代率增加,叠合柱承载力下降、延性增加;叠合柱轴压承载力计算公式具有良好的适用性。 展开更多

动荷载作用下隧道锚承载性能及影响因素敏感性分析

为了更加合理地评价悬索桥隧道式锚碇的承载能力,探究隧道锚在动荷载作用下的失效过程,借助有限差分软件建立数值模型,提取并分析接触面应力应变分布形式,并与静力作用下结果进行对比,建立不同工况研究锚塞体参数与动荷载参数对承载力... 为了更加合理地评价悬索桥隧道式锚碇的承载能力,探究隧道锚在动荷载作用下的失效过程,借助有限差分软件建立数值模型,提取并分析接触面应力应变分布形式,并与静力作用下结果进行对比,建立不同工况研究锚塞体参数与动荷载参数对承载力的影响.研究结果表明,动荷载作用下,锚岩接触面应力与位移分布形式与静载类似,但幅值与增长速率明显大于静载状态,拱顶方向和右拱脚向位移增加幅度分别达到36%和112%,且二者在7倍静力荷载幅值作用下,达到其位移差异变化的“门槛值”0.30 mm;动荷载作用下,隧道锚的极限承载力随着锚塞体扩展角、长度以及间距的增加均有所增加,其几何参数敏感性排序由高到低为锚塞体长度、锚塞体扩展角、锚塞体间距,动荷载频率对承载力的影响较小,动荷载作用下隧道锚极限承载力出现明显降低,平均降低幅度约为21%.动荷载作用下隧道锚承载性能及影响因素的敏感性分析为实际工程中隧道锚极限承载力的优化设计提供了参考. 展开更多
