The adsorptive denitrification performance of MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 toward pyridine,aniline or quinoline in simulated fuels with basic nitrogen content of 1732μg/g was evaluated separately.Furthermore,the effects of adsorp...The adsorptive denitrification performance of MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 toward pyridine,aniline or quinoline in simulated fuels with basic nitrogen content of 1732μg/g was evaluated separately.Furthermore,the effects of adsorption temperature,adsorption time and adsorbent dosage on their adsorptive denitrification performance were systematically investigated.The experimental results demonstrated that under a fixed adsorbent dosage of 0.05 g and a simulated fuel volume of 10 mL,the optimal removal efficiency for aniline was achieved at 30℃ within 30 min,whereas higher temperatures and longer times(40℃and 40 min)were required for effective removal of pyridine and quinoline.Density Functional Theory(DFT)calculations were conducted via Materials Studio(MS)software to study the adsorptive denitrification mechanism of MIL-101(Cr)toward these three basic nitrogen-containing compounds.The simulation calculation results revealed that the interaction between pyridine and MIL-101(Cr)primarily involved coordination adsorption.In contrast,the interaction between aniline or quinoline and MIL-101(Cr)proceeded mainly through coordination,with additional contributions fromπ-complexation and hydrogen bonding.The overall adsorption strength order is pyridine>aniline>quinoline.During the adsorption process,pyridine and quinoline transfer electrons to the MIL-101(Cr)surface through the H→C→N→Cr^(3+)pathway,while aniline transfers electrons to the MIL-101(Cr)surface through various pathways,including N→Cr^(3+),N→C→Cr^(3+)and N→H→O.Furthermore,adsorption kinetics studies indicated that the adsorption processes for all three basic nitrogen-containing compounds followed the quasi second order kinetic models.The experimental results on the effect of benzene on the adsorptive denitrification performance of MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 demonstrated that benzene exerted a more significant impact on the adsorption of aniline and quinoline.Finally,the adsorbent was regenerated using ethanol washing.It was found that MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 retained stable denitrification performance after two regeneration cycles.展开更多

Chronic heart failure(CHF)impairs cognitive function.Xijiaqi Formula(XJQ),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)used clinically to treat CHF,demonstrates potential for improving cognition in CHF patients.However,its prec...Chronic heart failure(CHF)impairs cognitive function.Xijiaqi Formula(XJQ),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)used clinically to treat CHF,demonstrates potential for improving cognition in CHF patients.However,its precise mechanism in treating post-CHF cognitive dysfunction remains unclear.This study systematically investigates XJQ’s effects on post-CHF cognitive dysfunction and the underlying mechanisms.The components of XJQ were identified through liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.CHF was induced in rats via ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery,followed by six weeks of XJQ treatment.Cardiac function was evaluated through echocardiography and hemodynamic parameters,while cognitive function was assessed using Morris water maze(MWM)and open field tests(OFT).XJQ treatment enhanced both cardiac and cognitive functions in CHF rats.Network pharmacology identified 12 core active components of XJQ and indicated its effect on cognitive dysfunction involved regulating synapses,inflammation,and phosphodiesterase 4(PDE4)-dependent cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)signaling.XJQ inhibited microglial and astrocyte activation,decreased proinflammatory cytokines,and mitigated neuronal damage.Notably,XJQ promoted synaptic repair and dendritic growth by downregulating PDE4 and upregulating cAMP,protein kinase A(PKA),cAMP-response element binding protein(CREB),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),PSD95,and synapsin I levels.Molecular docking and Bio-layer interferometry assays confirmed direct binding of quercetin,kaempferol,isorhamnetin,and darutoside to PDE4.In conclusion,XJQ alleviates neuroinflammation and enhances synaptic plasticity to improve cognitive dysfunction in CHF rats via the PDE4/cAMP/PKA/CREB signaling pathway.These findings provide valuable insight into the heart-brain axis.展开更多
BACKGROUND Perimenopausal women are prone to anxiety and depression due to fluctuating hormone levels,which significantly impair their quality of life.The current treatments have certain limitations.In traditional Chi...BACKGROUND Perimenopausal women are prone to anxiety and depression due to fluctuating hormone levels,which significantly impair their quality of life.The current treatments have certain limitations.In traditional Chinese medicine,liver-soothing formulas are commonly prescribed for mood-related disorders,but their overall efficacy in perimenopausal anxiety and depression remains uncertain and requires verification through meta-analysis.AIM To provide evidence-based support for clinical decision-making and research,a meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of liver-soothing formulas in treating perimenopausal anxiety and depression.METHODS Relevant studies published up to April 2025 were retrieved from ClinicalTrials.gov,PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library.Eligible studies were screened according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria.Data were extracted and analyzed using the Stata 12.0 software.RESULTS After searching and screening,12 articles involving 1798 patients(922 in the treatment group and 876 in the control group)were included in the analysis.Meta-analysis showed that the standardized scores for anxiety[standardized mean difference(SMD)=-0.71,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-1.06 to-0.36]and depression(SMD=-0.67,95%CI:-1.06 to-0.27)of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group.Subgroup analysis results revealed that for anxiety,liver-soothing formulas used alone(SMD=-0.34,95%CI:-0.50 to-0.18)or in combination(SMD=-0.88,95%CI:-1.43 to-0.34)both significantly reduced scores compared with the control group.For depression,monotherapy of liversoothing formulas showed no significant statistical difference between the treatment and control groups(SMD=-0.47,95%CI:-1.11 to 0.17),whereas combination therapy produced significantly lower standardized scale scores in the treatment group than in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(SMD=-0.83,95%CI:-1.39 to-0.28).Regarding Greene scores,no statistically significant difference was observed with monotherapy(SMD=0.87,95%CI:-0.32 to 2.06),whereas combination therapy had significantly lower Greene scores(SMD=-0.24,95%CI:-0.44 to-0.04).No statistically significant difference was found between the groups in the occurrence of adverse reactions(odds ratio=0.90,95%CI:0.57-1.43).However,liver-soothing formulas did not affect estrogen levels in perimenopausal women.CONCLUSION Compared with placebo,conventional Western medicine,or other interventions,the monotherapy of liver-soothing formulas demonstrates superior efficacy in treating perimenopausal anxiety.When used as an adjuvant,they exert a synergistic effect in alleviating negative emotions and improving overall perimenopausal symptoms.展开更多
The electric double layer(EDL)at the electrochemical interface is crucial for ion transport,charge transfer,and surface reactions in aqueous rechargeable zinc batteries(ARZBs).However,Zn anodes routinely encounter per...The electric double layer(EDL)at the electrochemical interface is crucial for ion transport,charge transfer,and surface reactions in aqueous rechargeable zinc batteries(ARZBs).However,Zn anodes routinely encounter persistent dendrite growth and parasitic reactions,driven by the inhomogeneous charge distribution and water-dominated environment within the EDL.Compounding this,classical EDL theory,rooted in meanfield approximations,further fails to resolve molecular-scale interfacial dynamics under battery-operating conditions,limiting mechanistic insights.Herein,we established a multiscale theoretical calculation framework from single molecular characteristics to interfacial ion distribution,revealing the EDL’s structure and interactions between different ions and molecules,which helps us understand the parasitic processes in depth.Simulations demonstrate that water dipole and sulfate ion adsorption at the inner Helmholtz plane drives severe hydrogen evolution and by-product formation.Guided by these insights,we engineered a“water-poor and anion-expelled”EDL using 4,1’,6’-trichlorogalactosucrose(TGS)as an electrolyte additive.As a result,Zn||Zn symmetric cells with TGS exhibited stable cycling for over 4700 h under a current density of 1 mA cm^(−2),while NaV_(3)O_(8)·1.5H_(2)O-based full cells kept 90.4%of the initial specific capacity after 800 cycles at 5 A g^(−1).This work highlights the power of multiscale theoretical frameworks to unravel EDL complexities and guide high-performance ARZB design through integrated theory-experiment approaches.展开更多

METHODS: Patients were included who underwent uneventful phacoemulsification with IOL implantation in the Department of Ophthalmology, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan, China from February 2007 to January 2009. Preoperative AL and keratometric values (Ks) were measured by IOLMaster optical biometry. Patients were divided into 3 groups based on AL less than 22mm (Group 1), 22-26mm (Group 2), and more than 26mm (Group 3). The power of the implanted IOL was used to calculate the predicted postoperative spherical equivalence (SE) by various formulas: the Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay 1, and SRK/T. The predictive accuracy of each formula was analyzed by comparing the difference between the actual and predicted postoperative SE (MedAE, median absolute error). All the patients had follow-up periods exceeding 3 months. RESULTS: Totally, there were 200 eyes (33 eyes in Group 1, 92 eyes in Group 2, 75 eyes in Group 3). In all patients, the Haigis had the significantly lower MedAE generated by the other formulas (P【0.05). In Group 1 to 3, the MedAE calculated by the Haigis was either significantly lower or comparable to those calculated by the other formulas.CONCLUSION: Compared with other formulas using IOLMaster biometric data, the Haigis formula yields superior refractive results in eyes with various AL.展开更多
AIM: To compare the Barrett True-K formula with other formulas integrated in Lenstar 900 to predict intraocular lens(IOL) power after small-incision lenticule extraction(SMILE).METHODS: A theoretical prospective study...AIM: To compare the Barrett True-K formula with other formulas integrated in Lenstar 900 to predict intraocular lens(IOL) power after small-incision lenticule extraction(SMILE).METHODS: A theoretical prospective study was performed to predict the ratio of equivalent IOL power before and after SMILE using the SRK/T(Sanders, Retzlaff, Kraff/theoretical), Holladay 1, Haigis, and Barrett True-K formulas and compare the stability of their predictions. The study included 54 eyes(54 cases) with a manifest refraction spherical equivalent(MRSE) of-4.99±1.45 D. They were divided into two groups: 27 eyes with axial length of 24-26 mm in Group A, and 27 eyes with axial length >26 mm in Group B. All subjects enrolled in this study were examined with the Lenstar 900 before and 6 mo after SMILE including measurements of axial length, corneal curvature, and anterior chamber depth(ACD). RESULTS: The prediction of equivalent IOL power of the two groups was more stable for the Barrett True-K formula, especially in long axial length eyes(Group B). The respective percentages for the SRK/T, Holladay 1, Haigis, and Barrett True-K formulas were 7.4%, 7.4%, 85.19%, and 88.89% for a margin of error within 0.5 D;25.92%, 51.84%, 100%, and 100% for a margin of error within 1.0 D in Group A;33.33%, 40.74%, 44.44%, and 81.48% for a margin of error within 0.5 D;and 44.44%, 59.26%, 66.66%, and 92.59% for a margin of error within 1.0 D in Group B. The respective percentages for Barrett True-K formulas were 100% for a margin of error within 2.0 D in Group B.CONCLUSION: Theoretically, the Barrett True-K formula provides more stable predictions than other formulas for cataract eyes after SMILE.展开更多

AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of three commonly used biometric formulae across different axial lengths(ALs) at one United States Veterans Affairs teaching hospital.METHODS: A retrospective chart review was conducted f...AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of three commonly used biometric formulae across different axial lengths(ALs) at one United States Veterans Affairs teaching hospital.METHODS: A retrospective chart review was conducted from November 2013 to May 2018. One eye of each patient who underwent cataract surgery with a monofocal intraocular lens(IOL) was included. The range of postoperative follow-up period was from 3 wk to 4 mo. The Holladay 2, Barrett Universal II, and Hill-Radial Basis Function(Hill-RBF) formulae were used to predict the postoperative refraction for all cataract surgeries. For each formula, we calculated the prediction errors [including mean absolute prediction error(MAE)] and the percentage of eyes within ±0.25 diopter(D) and ±0.5 D of predicted refraction. We performed subgroup analyses for short(AL<22.0 mm), medium(AL 22.0-25.0 mm), and long eyes(AL>25.0 mm).RESULTS: A total of 1131 patients were screened, and 909 met the inclusion criteria. Resident ophthalmologists were the primary surgeons in 710(78.1%) cases. We found no statistically significant difference in predictive accuracy among the three formulae over the entire AL range or in the short, medium, and long eye subgroups. Across the entire AL range, the Hill-RBF formula resulted in the lowest MAE(0.384 D) and the highest percentage of eyes with postoperative refraction within ±0.25 D(42.7%) and ±0.5 D(75.5%) of predicted. All three formulae had the highest MAEs(>0.5 D) and lowest percentage within ±0.5 D of predicted refraction(<55%) in short eyes.CONCLUSION: In cataract surgery patients at our teaching hospital, three commonly used biometric formulae demonstrate similar refractive accuracy across all ALs. Short eyes pose the greatest challenge to predicting postoperative refractive error.展开更多

Most studies focus on the thin-beds whose top and bottom reflection coefficients are of equal magnitude and opposite polarity. There is no systematic research on the other thin-bed types. In this article, all of the thin-beds are classified into four types: thin-beds with equal magnitude and opposite polarity, thin-beds with unequal magnitude and opposite polarity, thin-beds with equal magnitude and identical polarity, and thin-beds with unequal magnitude and identical polarity. By analytical study, an equation describing the general relationship between seismic peak frequency and thin-bed thickness was derived which shows there is a Complex implicit non-linear relationship between them and which is difficult to use in practice. In order to solve this problem, we simplify the relationship by Taylor expansion and discuss the precision of the approximation formulae with different orders for the four types of thin-beds. Compared with the traditional amplitude method for thin-bed thickness calculation, the method we present has a higher precision and isn't influenced by the absolute value of top or bottom reflection coefficient, so it is convenient for use in practice.展开更多
AIM:To evaluate the accuracy of eight different intraocular lens(IOL)power calculation formulas for a segmented multifocal IOL.METHODS:A total of 53 eyes of 41 adult cataract patients who underwent phacoemulsification...AIM:To evaluate the accuracy of eight different intraocular lens(IOL)power calculation formulas for a segmented multifocal IOL.METHODS:A total of 53 eyes of 41 adult cataract patients who underwent phacoemulsification and implantation with the SBL-3 segmented multifocal IOL between January 1,2017 and January 31,2019 were included in this retrospective study.Preoperative biometry measurements were obtained using an IOL Master.Manifest refraction was performed at least 4 wk postoperatively.Accuracy of the eight formulas[Barrett Universal II,Emmetropia Verifying Optical(EVO),Haigis,Hill-RBF 2.0,Hoffer Q,Holladay 1,Kane,and SRK/T]was analyzed.RESULTS:Using current lens constants,all formulas exhibited errors of slight myopic shift in refractive prediction.The Barrett Universal II formula had a significantly lower median absolute error(MedAE)than did Holladay 1(P=0.02),Kane(P=0.001)and Hill-RBF 2.0(P<0.001)formulas.The Haigis formula had a lower MedAE value than did the Hill-RBF 2.0 formula(P=0.005).Differences in MedAE values among SRK/T,EVO and Hoffer Q formulas were not significant.After optimizing lens constants,the MedAE values of all formulas were reduced;significant changes were noted for EVO(P=0.022),Haigis(P=0.048);Hill-RBF 2.0(P=0.014),Holladay 1(P=0.045)and Kane(P=0.022)formulas.All formulas performed equally well after optimization of lens constants(P=0.203).CONCLUSION:All eight formulas tend to result in a myopic shift when using current lens constants.Optimized lens constants improve the accuracy of these formulas among adult Chinese patients.展开更多

It is completely different from the Doppler formula of red shift which is related to velocity factor . This kind of inconsistency is not allowed in physics. Because of , when became larger and larger with time increase, z became smaller and smaller, means that space expansion leads to red shift becoming smaller. At present time, we have and , means that there is no red shift for the light emitted from distance celestial bodies at present. The results obviously violate the Hubble law! It is proved strictly in mathematics that the formula is untenable unless constant and . The further study reveals that the essential reason of the mistake is that the R-W metric violates the principle of light’s speed invariable. The time delay caused by relativity velocity between light’s source and observer is neglected. Besides, there exists the problem of time misalignment between theoretical calculation and practical observations in the original documents of Ia supernova projects. Background Meat originating from the spent hen is an important source of poultry meat production;however,multiple factors cause the decline in the meat quality of spent hens.Chinese herbs have been widely used as medi...Background Meat originating from the spent hen is an important source of poultry meat production;however,multiple factors cause the decline in the meat quality of spent hens.Chinese herbs have been widely used as medi-cine for a long time to prevent diseases and as nutrient supplements to improve the product quality.This experi-ment explored the effects of adding 1.0%Chinese herbal formula(CHF,including 0.30%Leonurus japonicus Houtt.,0.20%Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge.,0.25%Ligustrum lucidum Ait.,and 0.25%Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz.)for 120 d to the spent hens’diet through metabolomics,network pharmacology,and microbiome strategies.Results The results indicated that CHF supplementation improved the meat quality by reducing drip loss(P<0.05),b*value(P=0.058),and shear force(P=0.099)and increasing cooked meat percentage(P=0.054)and dry matter(P<0.05)of breast muscle.The addition of CHF improved the nutritional value of breast muscle by increasing(P<0.05)the content of C18:2n-6,n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),total PUFA,PUFA-to-saturated fatty acids(SFA)ratio,and hypocholesterolemic-to-hypercholesterolemic ratio,and tending to increase serine content(P=0.069).The targeted metabolomics analysis revealed that the biosynthesis of SFA,linoleic acid metabolism,fatty acid degradation,fatty acid elongation,and fatty acid biosynthesis pathways were enriched by CHF supplementation.Furthermore,the network pharmacology analysis indicated that CHF was closely associated with oxidative stress and lipid metabo-lism.The CHF supplementation increased the glutathione peroxidase level(P<0.05)and upregulated gene expres-sion related to the Nrf2 pathway(including HO-1,P<0.05;Nrf2,P=0.098;CAT,P=0.060;GPX1,P=0.063;and SOD2,P=0.052)and lipid metabolism(including PPARγ,P<0.05;SREBP1,P=0.059;and CPT1A,P=0.058).Additionally,CHF supplementation increased Firmicutes and decreased Bacteroidetes,Spirochaetes,and Synergistetes abundances(P<0.05),which may contribute to better meat quality.Conclusions Our results suggest that CHF supplementation improved the quality and nutritional value of meat,which will provide a theoretical basis for the utilization of CHF as a feed additive in spent hens’diets.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect and mechanism of Yishen Tongluo formula(益肾通络方,YSTLF)in streptozotocin-induced diabetic kidney disease mice(DKD)mice.METHODS:Thirty Institute of Cancer Research mice(specific pa...OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect and mechanism of Yishen Tongluo formula(益肾通络方,YSTLF)in streptozotocin-induced diabetic kidney disease mice(DKD)mice.METHODS:Thirty Institute of Cancer Research mice(specific pathogen free,SPF grade)were divided into five groups(n=6 per group):control,DKD model,DKD model with YSTLF(4.9 g/kg),DKD model with YSTLF(9.8 g/kg),and DKD model with captopril.DKD was induced through a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(150 mg/kg).Body weight,fasting blood glucose and urine C-peptide levels were measured to assess metabolic regulation by YSTLF.Renal function was evaluated using indicators of glomerular and tubular health.Liver function was assessed by measuring aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels.Renal pathological changes were examined using hematoxylin/eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy.Inflammatory and apoptosis-related factors were analyzed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,immunohistochemistry,and Western blot analysis.RESULTS:In DKD mice,fasting blood glucose,Cpeptide,24-hour urine protein(UP)levels,and renal damage were elevated,accompanied by increased inflammation and apoptosis.YSTLF significantly reduced 24-hour UP and C-peptide levels and improved kidney and liver function in DKD mice.YSTLF also mitigated glomerular hypertrophy,basement membrane thickening,and podocyte foot process effacement.It upregulated the expression of the podocyte marker podocalyxin.Furthermore,YSTLF alleviated inflammation and apoptosis,likely by reducing the overexpression of monocyte chemoattractant protein(MCP-1),Bax,and Caspase-3 in the kidneys of DKD mice.CONCLUSIONS:These findings suggest that YSTLF ameliorates kidney injury by modulating the expression of inflammatory cytokine MCP-1 and the Bax/Caspase-3 apoptosis pathway,providing a potential therapeutic approach for DKD.展开更多
文摘As cataract surgery progresses from “restoration of sight” to “refractive correction”, precise prediction of intraocular lens (IOL) power is critical for enhancing postoperative visual quality in patients. IOL power calculation methods have evolved and innovated throughout time, from early theoretical and regression formulas to nonlinear formulas for estimating effective lens position (ELP), multivariable formulas, and innovative formulas that use optical principles and AI-based online formulas. This paper thoroughly discusses the development and iteration of traditional IOL calculation formulas, the emergence of new IOL calculation formulas, and the selection of IOL calculation formulas for different patients in the era of refractive cataract surgery, serving as a reference for “personalized” IOL implantation in clinical practice.

文摘The adsorptive denitrification performance of MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 toward pyridine,aniline or quinoline in simulated fuels with basic nitrogen content of 1732μg/g was evaluated separately.Furthermore,the effects of adsorption temperature,adsorption time and adsorbent dosage on their adsorptive denitrification performance were systematically investigated.The experimental results demonstrated that under a fixed adsorbent dosage of 0.05 g and a simulated fuel volume of 10 mL,the optimal removal efficiency for aniline was achieved at 30℃ within 30 min,whereas higher temperatures and longer times(40℃and 40 min)were required for effective removal of pyridine and quinoline.Density Functional Theory(DFT)calculations were conducted via Materials Studio(MS)software to study the adsorptive denitrification mechanism of MIL-101(Cr)toward these three basic nitrogen-containing compounds.The simulation calculation results revealed that the interaction between pyridine and MIL-101(Cr)primarily involved coordination adsorption.In contrast,the interaction between aniline or quinoline and MIL-101(Cr)proceeded mainly through coordination,with additional contributions fromπ-complexation and hydrogen bonding.The overall adsorption strength order is pyridine>aniline>quinoline.During the adsorption process,pyridine and quinoline transfer electrons to the MIL-101(Cr)surface through the H→C→N→Cr^(3+)pathway,while aniline transfers electrons to the MIL-101(Cr)surface through various pathways,including N→Cr^(3+),N→C→Cr^(3+)and N→H→O.Furthermore,adsorption kinetics studies indicated that the adsorption processes for all three basic nitrogen-containing compounds followed the quasi second order kinetic models.The experimental results on the effect of benzene on the adsorptive denitrification performance of MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 demonstrated that benzene exerted a more significant impact on the adsorption of aniline and quinoline.Finally,the adsorbent was regenerated using ethanol washing.It was found that MIL-101(Cr)-0.5 retained stable denitrification performance after two regeneration cycles.

文摘Chronic heart failure(CHF)impairs cognitive function.Xijiaqi Formula(XJQ),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)used clinically to treat CHF,demonstrates potential for improving cognition in CHF patients.However,its precise mechanism in treating post-CHF cognitive dysfunction remains unclear.This study systematically investigates XJQ’s effects on post-CHF cognitive dysfunction and the underlying mechanisms.The components of XJQ were identified through liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.CHF was induced in rats via ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery,followed by six weeks of XJQ treatment.Cardiac function was evaluated through echocardiography and hemodynamic parameters,while cognitive function was assessed using Morris water maze(MWM)and open field tests(OFT).XJQ treatment enhanced both cardiac and cognitive functions in CHF rats.Network pharmacology identified 12 core active components of XJQ and indicated its effect on cognitive dysfunction involved regulating synapses,inflammation,and phosphodiesterase 4(PDE4)-dependent cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)signaling.XJQ inhibited microglial and astrocyte activation,decreased proinflammatory cytokines,and mitigated neuronal damage.Notably,XJQ promoted synaptic repair and dendritic growth by downregulating PDE4 and upregulating cAMP,protein kinase A(PKA),cAMP-response element binding protein(CREB),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),PSD95,and synapsin I levels.Molecular docking and Bio-layer interferometry assays confirmed direct binding of quercetin,kaempferol,isorhamnetin,and darutoside to PDE4.In conclusion,XJQ alleviates neuroinflammation and enhances synaptic plasticity to improve cognitive dysfunction in CHF rats via the PDE4/cAMP/PKA/CREB signaling pathway.These findings provide valuable insight into the heart-brain axis.
文摘BACKGROUND Perimenopausal women are prone to anxiety and depression due to fluctuating hormone levels,which significantly impair their quality of life.The current treatments have certain limitations.In traditional Chinese medicine,liver-soothing formulas are commonly prescribed for mood-related disorders,but their overall efficacy in perimenopausal anxiety and depression remains uncertain and requires verification through meta-analysis.AIM To provide evidence-based support for clinical decision-making and research,a meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of liver-soothing formulas in treating perimenopausal anxiety and depression.METHODS Relevant studies published up to April 2025 were retrieved from ClinicalTrials.gov,PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library.Eligible studies were screened according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria.Data were extracted and analyzed using the Stata 12.0 software.RESULTS After searching and screening,12 articles involving 1798 patients(922 in the treatment group and 876 in the control group)were included in the analysis.Meta-analysis showed that the standardized scores for anxiety[standardized mean difference(SMD)=-0.71,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-1.06 to-0.36]and depression(SMD=-0.67,95%CI:-1.06 to-0.27)of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group.Subgroup analysis results revealed that for anxiety,liver-soothing formulas used alone(SMD=-0.34,95%CI:-0.50 to-0.18)or in combination(SMD=-0.88,95%CI:-1.43 to-0.34)both significantly reduced scores compared with the control group.For depression,monotherapy of liversoothing formulas showed no significant statistical difference between the treatment and control groups(SMD=-0.47,95%CI:-1.11 to 0.17),whereas combination therapy produced significantly lower standardized scale scores in the treatment group than in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(SMD=-0.83,95%CI:-1.39 to-0.28).Regarding Greene scores,no statistically significant difference was observed with monotherapy(SMD=0.87,95%CI:-0.32 to 2.06),whereas combination therapy had significantly lower Greene scores(SMD=-0.24,95%CI:-0.44 to-0.04).No statistically significant difference was found between the groups in the occurrence of adverse reactions(odds ratio=0.90,95%CI:0.57-1.43).However,liver-soothing formulas did not affect estrogen levels in perimenopausal women.CONCLUSION Compared with placebo,conventional Western medicine,or other interventions,the monotherapy of liver-soothing formulas demonstrates superior efficacy in treating perimenopausal anxiety.When used as an adjuvant,they exert a synergistic effect in alleviating negative emotions and improving overall perimenopausal symptoms.

文摘The electric double layer(EDL)at the electrochemical interface is crucial for ion transport,charge transfer,and surface reactions in aqueous rechargeable zinc batteries(ARZBs).However,Zn anodes routinely encounter persistent dendrite growth and parasitic reactions,driven by the inhomogeneous charge distribution and water-dominated environment within the EDL.Compounding this,classical EDL theory,rooted in meanfield approximations,further fails to resolve molecular-scale interfacial dynamics under battery-operating conditions,limiting mechanistic insights.Herein,we established a multiscale theoretical calculation framework from single molecular characteristics to interfacial ion distribution,revealing the EDL’s structure and interactions between different ions and molecules,which helps us understand the parasitic processes in depth.Simulations demonstrate that water dipole and sulfate ion adsorption at the inner Helmholtz plane drives severe hydrogen evolution and by-product formation.Guided by these insights,we engineered a“water-poor and anion-expelled”EDL using 4,1’,6’-trichlorogalactosucrose(TGS)as an electrolyte additive.As a result,Zn||Zn symmetric cells with TGS exhibited stable cycling for over 4700 h under a current density of 1 mA cm^(−2),while NaV_(3)O_(8)·1.5H_(2)O-based full cells kept 90.4%of the initial specific capacity after 800 cycles at 5 A g^(−1).This work highlights the power of multiscale theoretical frameworks to unravel EDL complexities and guide high-performance ARZB design through integrated theory-experiment approaches.

文摘AIM: To investigate the predictability of intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation using the IOLMaster and different IOL power calculation formulas in eyes with various axial length (AL). METHODS: Patients were included who underwent uneventful phacoemulsification with IOL implantation in the Department of Ophthalmology, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan, China from February 2007 to January 2009. Preoperative AL and keratometric values (Ks) were measured by IOLMaster optical biometry. Patients were divided into 3 groups based on AL less than 22mm (Group 1), 22-26mm (Group 2), and more than 26mm (Group 3). The power of the implanted IOL was used to calculate the predicted postoperative spherical equivalence (SE) by various formulas: the Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay 1, and SRK/T. The predictive accuracy of each formula was analyzed by comparing the difference between the actual and predicted postoperative SE (MedAE, median absolute error). All the patients had follow-up periods exceeding 3 months. RESULTS: Totally, there were 200 eyes (33 eyes in Group 1, 92 eyes in Group 2, 75 eyes in Group 3). In all patients, the Haigis had the significantly lower MedAE generated by the other formulas (P【0.05). In Group 1 to 3, the MedAE calculated by the Haigis was either significantly lower or comparable to those calculated by the other formulas.CONCLUSION: Compared with other formulas using IOLMaster biometric data, the Haigis formula yields superior refractive results in eyes with various AL.
文摘AIM: To compare the Barrett True-K formula with other formulas integrated in Lenstar 900 to predict intraocular lens(IOL) power after small-incision lenticule extraction(SMILE).METHODS: A theoretical prospective study was performed to predict the ratio of equivalent IOL power before and after SMILE using the SRK/T(Sanders, Retzlaff, Kraff/theoretical), Holladay 1, Haigis, and Barrett True-K formulas and compare the stability of their predictions. The study included 54 eyes(54 cases) with a manifest refraction spherical equivalent(MRSE) of-4.99±1.45 D. They were divided into two groups: 27 eyes with axial length of 24-26 mm in Group A, and 27 eyes with axial length >26 mm in Group B. All subjects enrolled in this study were examined with the Lenstar 900 before and 6 mo after SMILE including measurements of axial length, corneal curvature, and anterior chamber depth(ACD). RESULTS: The prediction of equivalent IOL power of the two groups was more stable for the Barrett True-K formula, especially in long axial length eyes(Group B). The respective percentages for the SRK/T, Holladay 1, Haigis, and Barrett True-K formulas were 7.4%, 7.4%, 85.19%, and 88.89% for a margin of error within 0.5 D;25.92%, 51.84%, 100%, and 100% for a margin of error within 1.0 D in Group A;33.33%, 40.74%, 44.44%, and 81.48% for a margin of error within 0.5 D;and 44.44%, 59.26%, 66.66%, and 92.59% for a margin of error within 1.0 D in Group B. The respective percentages for Barrett True-K formulas were 100% for a margin of error within 2.0 D in Group B.CONCLUSION: Theoretically, the Barrett True-K formula provides more stable predictions than other formulas for cataract eyes after SMILE.

文摘AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of three commonly used biometric formulae across different axial lengths(ALs) at one United States Veterans Affairs teaching hospital.METHODS: A retrospective chart review was conducted from November 2013 to May 2018. One eye of each patient who underwent cataract surgery with a monofocal intraocular lens(IOL) was included. The range of postoperative follow-up period was from 3 wk to 4 mo. The Holladay 2, Barrett Universal II, and Hill-Radial Basis Function(Hill-RBF) formulae were used to predict the postoperative refraction for all cataract surgeries. For each formula, we calculated the prediction errors [including mean absolute prediction error(MAE)] and the percentage of eyes within ±0.25 diopter(D) and ±0.5 D of predicted refraction. We performed subgroup analyses for short(AL<22.0 mm), medium(AL 22.0-25.0 mm), and long eyes(AL>25.0 mm).RESULTS: A total of 1131 patients were screened, and 909 met the inclusion criteria. Resident ophthalmologists were the primary surgeons in 710(78.1%) cases. We found no statistically significant difference in predictive accuracy among the three formulae over the entire AL range or in the short, medium, and long eye subgroups. Across the entire AL range, the Hill-RBF formula resulted in the lowest MAE(0.384 D) and the highest percentage of eyes with postoperative refraction within ±0.25 D(42.7%) and ±0.5 D(75.5%) of predicted. All three formulae had the highest MAEs(>0.5 D) and lowest percentage within ±0.5 D of predicted refraction(<55%) in short eyes.CONCLUSION: In cataract surgery patients at our teaching hospital, three commonly used biometric formulae demonstrate similar refractive accuracy across all ALs. Short eyes pose the greatest challenge to predicting postoperative refractive error.

文摘Quantitative thickness estimation below tuning thickness is a great challenge in seismic exploration. Most studies focus on the thin-beds whose top and bottom reflection coefficients are of equal magnitude and opposite polarity. There is no systematic research on the other thin-bed types. In this article, all of the thin-beds are classified into four types: thin-beds with equal magnitude and opposite polarity, thin-beds with unequal magnitude and opposite polarity, thin-beds with equal magnitude and identical polarity, and thin-beds with unequal magnitude and identical polarity. By analytical study, an equation describing the general relationship between seismic peak frequency and thin-bed thickness was derived which shows there is a Complex implicit non-linear relationship between them and which is difficult to use in practice. In order to solve this problem, we simplify the relationship by Taylor expansion and discuss the precision of the approximation formulae with different orders for the four types of thin-beds. Compared with the traditional amplitude method for thin-bed thickness calculation, the method we present has a higher precision and isn't influenced by the absolute value of top or bottom reflection coefficient, so it is convenient for use in practice.

文摘AIM:To evaluate the accuracy of eight different intraocular lens(IOL)power calculation formulas for a segmented multifocal IOL.METHODS:A total of 53 eyes of 41 adult cataract patients who underwent phacoemulsification and implantation with the SBL-3 segmented multifocal IOL between January 1,2017 and January 31,2019 were included in this retrospective study.Preoperative biometry measurements were obtained using an IOL Master.Manifest refraction was performed at least 4 wk postoperatively.Accuracy of the eight formulas[Barrett Universal II,Emmetropia Verifying Optical(EVO),Haigis,Hill-RBF 2.0,Hoffer Q,Holladay 1,Kane,and SRK/T]was analyzed.RESULTS:Using current lens constants,all formulas exhibited errors of slight myopic shift in refractive prediction.The Barrett Universal II formula had a significantly lower median absolute error(MedAE)than did Holladay 1(P=0.02),Kane(P=0.001)and Hill-RBF 2.0(P<0.001)formulas.The Haigis formula had a lower MedAE value than did the Hill-RBF 2.0 formula(P=0.005).Differences in MedAE values among SRK/T,EVO and Hoffer Q formulas were not significant.After optimizing lens constants,the MedAE values of all formulas were reduced;significant changes were noted for EVO(P=0.022),Haigis(P=0.048);Hill-RBF 2.0(P=0.014),Holladay 1(P=0.045)and Kane(P=0.022)formulas.All formulas performed equally well after optimization of lens constants(P=0.203).CONCLUSION:All eight formulas tend to result in a myopic shift when using current lens constants.Optimized lens constants improve the accuracy of these formulas among adult Chinese patients.
文摘Cataract surgery is the most performed surgery in ophthalmology and remains as the ultimate refractive surgery.It offers an opportunity to improve a patient’s visual acuity and target a degree of spectacle independence.The process of intraocular lens(IOL)calculations serves as a crucial element in achieving successful post-operative refractive outcomes.A modern-day surgeon has access to several IOL formulas to pick the most appropriate lens to achieve a desired target refraction.These formulas,however,have both advantages and limitations and therefore reach within 0.50 diopters of the target refraction only 70-80%of the time.There is a lack of a single,ideal formula that can simplify complexities of this process and achieve higher degrees of accuracy.The development of the IOL Ladas‘super formula’may provide a simplistic,accurate,and ever-evolving solution to improving outcomes.

文摘Estimation of water content is the foundation of natural gas processing and designing,and a formula calculation method provides a solution simple and easy to be programmed by computers.In this regard,several main formula calculation methods of water content in sweet natural gas were reviewed and evaluated individually.There are formulas fitted with nomographic data(e.g.Sloan formula,Ning Yingnan formula,Khaled formula and Bahadori formula),empirical formulas fitted with experimental data(e.g.Zhu Lin formula,Behr formula and Kazim formula)and formulas generated based on water-hydrocarbon phases equilibrium(e.g.Saturated Vapor Pressure Model,Modified Ideal Model,Simplified Thermodynamic Model and Bukacek formula).The comparison of calculated and experimental values of each above formula calculation method indicates that,the Khaled formula provided the minimum average absolute deviation(AAD)–2.5240%,while the Behr method achieved the maximum AAD–19.255%.After the analysis of the AAD results calculated by the methods at different temperature ranges,the Zhu Lin formula is recommended for−50 to−40℃,the Sloan formula for−40 to 0℃,the Simplified Thermodynamic Model for 0 to 37.78°C,the Khaled formula for 37.78 to 171.11℃,and the Bukacek formula for 171.11 to 237.78℃.

The second is the Compton scattering which is related to the energy transformation of photon. The third is the Doppler’s effect which is related to velocity. The basic formula used to calculate the relation of red shift and distance of Ia supernova in cosmology is which is related to the scalar factor of the R-W metric. It is completely different from the Doppler formula of red shift which is related to velocity factor . This kind of inconsistency is not allowed in physics. Because of , when became larger and larger with time increase, z became smaller and smaller, means that space expansion leads to red shift becoming smaller. At present time, we have and , means that there is no red shift for the light emitted from distance celestial bodies at present. The results obviously violate the Hubble law! It is proved strictly in mathematics that the formula is untenable unless constant and . The further study reveals that the essential reason of the mistake is that the R-W metric violates the principle of light’s speed invariable. The time delay caused by relativity velocity between light’s source and observer is neglected. Besides, there exists the problem of time misalignment between theoretical calculation and practical observations in the original documents of Ia supernova projects. So the formula used to calculate the relation between red shift and distance of Ia supernova is wrong and the deduced conclusion about dark energy and the accelerating expansion of the universe are incredible. It is proved in this paper that based on the Doppler’s formula and the method of numerical calculation, the relation of red shift and distance of Ia supernova can be explained well. The hypotheses of dark energy and the accelerating expansion of the universe are completely unnecessary in cosmology.
文摘The purpose of this paper is that we give an extension of Halley’s method (Section 2), and the formulas to compare the convergences of the Halley’s method and extended one (Section 3). For extension of Halley’s method we give definition of function by variable transformation in Section 1. In Section 4 we do the numerical calculations of Halley’s method and extended one for elementary functions, compare these convergences, and confirm the theory. Under certain conditions we can confirm that the extended Halley’s method has better convergence or better approximation than Halley’s method.
文摘This paper gives the extension of Newton’s method, and a variety of formulas to compare the convergences for the extension of Newton’s method (Section 4). Section 5 gives the numerical calculations. Section 1 introduces the three formulas obtained from the cubic equation of a hearth by Murase (Ref. [1]). We find that Murase’s three formulas lead to a Horner’s method (Ref. [2]) and extension of a Newton’s method (2009) at the same time. This shows originality of Wasan (mathematics developed in Japan) in the Edo era (1603-1868). Suzuki (Ref. [3]) estimates Murase to be a rare mathematician in not only the history of Wasan but also the history of mathematics in the world. Section 2 gives the relations between Newton’s method, Horner’s method and Murase’s three formulas. Section 3 gives a new function defined such as .

文摘Background Meat originating from the spent hen is an important source of poultry meat production;however,multiple factors cause the decline in the meat quality of spent hens.Chinese herbs have been widely used as medi-cine for a long time to prevent diseases and as nutrient supplements to improve the product quality.This experi-ment explored the effects of adding 1.0%Chinese herbal formula(CHF,including 0.30%Leonurus japonicus Houtt.,0.20%Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge.,0.25%Ligustrum lucidum Ait.,and 0.25%Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz.)for 120 d to the spent hens’diet through metabolomics,network pharmacology,and microbiome strategies.Results The results indicated that CHF supplementation improved the meat quality by reducing drip loss(P<0.05),b*value(P=0.058),and shear force(P=0.099)and increasing cooked meat percentage(P=0.054)and dry matter(P<0.05)of breast muscle.The addition of CHF improved the nutritional value of breast muscle by increasing(P<0.05)the content of C18:2n-6,n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),total PUFA,PUFA-to-saturated fatty acids(SFA)ratio,and hypocholesterolemic-to-hypercholesterolemic ratio,and tending to increase serine content(P=0.069).The targeted metabolomics analysis revealed that the biosynthesis of SFA,linoleic acid metabolism,fatty acid degradation,fatty acid elongation,and fatty acid biosynthesis pathways were enriched by CHF supplementation.Furthermore,the network pharmacology analysis indicated that CHF was closely associated with oxidative stress and lipid metabo-lism.The CHF supplementation increased the glutathione peroxidase level(P<0.05)and upregulated gene expres-sion related to the Nrf2 pathway(including HO-1,P<0.05;Nrf2,P=0.098;CAT,P=0.060;GPX1,P=0.063;and SOD2,P=0.052)and lipid metabolism(including PPARγ,P<0.05;SREBP1,P=0.059;and CPT1A,P=0.058).Additionally,CHF supplementation increased Firmicutes and decreased Bacteroidetes,Spirochaetes,and Synergistetes abundances(P<0.05),which may contribute to better meat quality.Conclusions Our results suggest that CHF supplementation improved the quality and nutritional value of meat,which will provide a theoretical basis for the utilization of CHF as a feed additive in spent hens’diets.

文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect and mechanism of Yishen Tongluo formula(益肾通络方,YSTLF)in streptozotocin-induced diabetic kidney disease mice(DKD)mice.METHODS:Thirty Institute of Cancer Research mice(specific pathogen free,SPF grade)were divided into five groups(n=6 per group):control,DKD model,DKD model with YSTLF(4.9 g/kg),DKD model with YSTLF(9.8 g/kg),and DKD model with captopril.DKD was induced through a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(150 mg/kg).Body weight,fasting blood glucose and urine C-peptide levels were measured to assess metabolic regulation by YSTLF.Renal function was evaluated using indicators of glomerular and tubular health.Liver function was assessed by measuring aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels.Renal pathological changes were examined using hematoxylin/eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy.Inflammatory and apoptosis-related factors were analyzed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,immunohistochemistry,and Western blot analysis.RESULTS:In DKD mice,fasting blood glucose,Cpeptide,24-hour urine protein(UP)levels,and renal damage were elevated,accompanied by increased inflammation and apoptosis.YSTLF significantly reduced 24-hour UP and C-peptide levels and improved kidney and liver function in DKD mice.YSTLF also mitigated glomerular hypertrophy,basement membrane thickening,and podocyte foot process effacement.It upregulated the expression of the podocyte marker podocalyxin.Furthermore,YSTLF alleviated inflammation and apoptosis,likely by reducing the overexpression of monocyte chemoattractant protein(MCP-1),Bax,and Caspase-3 in the kidneys of DKD mice.CONCLUSIONS:These findings suggest that YSTLF ameliorates kidney injury by modulating the expression of inflammatory cytokine MCP-1 and the Bax/Caspase-3 apoptosis pathway,providing a potential therapeutic approach for DKD.
