Therefore, human bowlers cannot bowl for extended periods and numerous me...The art of cricket bowling is complex and arduous owing to the run-up and ball release time energy requirement to achieve speed and variations. Therefore, human bowlers cannot bowl for extended periods and numerous mechanical bowling machines have been built to help batsmen improve their skills during practice sessions. However, most of these existing machines are designed for spherical balls ignoring the distinguishing physical feature of a cricket ball: the raised equatorial seam, which makes it less of a sphere. The bowlers are known to often benefit from this seam in their pursuit to taking the batsmen's wicket by imparting swing, spin and bounce variations along-with other bowling variables. This lack of the seam consideration creates a void between human and mechanical bowling. In this work, we present design and development of an automatic bowling machine termed as ROBOWLER to make mechanical bowling more realistic. This machine ensures ball seam position as well as fulfills other constraints. Ball pitching and seam position accuracy results underscore the suitability of this design to enhance the capabilities of mechanical bowling.展开更多

Tibetan singing bowls emit low-frequency sounds and produce perceptible harmonic tones and vibrations through manual tapping.The sounds the singing bowls produce have been shown to enhance relaxation and reduce anxiet...Tibetan singing bowls emit low-frequency sounds and produce perceptible harmonic tones and vibrations through manual tapping.The sounds the singing bowls produce have been shown to enhance relaxation and reduce anxiety.However,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,we used chronic restraint stress or sleep deprivation to establish mouse models of anxiety that exhibit anxiety-like behaviors.We then supplied treatment with singing bowls in a bottomless cage placed on the top of a cushion.We found that unlike in humans,the combination of harmonic tones and vibrations did not improve anxietylike behaviors in mice,while individual vibration components did.Additionally,the vibration of singing bowls increased the level of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 1 in the somatosensory cortex and prefrontal cortex of the mice,decreased the level ofγ-aminobutyric acid A(GABA)receptorα1 subtype,reduced the level of CaMKII in the prefrontal cortex,and increased the number of GABAergic interneurons.At the same time,electrophysiological tests showed that the vibration of singing bowls significantly reduced the abnormal low-frequency gamma oscillation peak frequency in the medial prefrontal cortex caused by stress restraint pressure and sleep deprivation.Results from this study indicate that the vibration of singing bowls can alleviate anxiety-like behaviors by reducing abnormal molecular and electrophysiological events in somatosensory and medial prefrontal cortex.展开更多

[Method] The lotus variety Hongxia was chosen as the experimental material. Two treatments, hydroponics and soil culture were set to measure their photosynthetic indices, chlorophyll content and root vigor, and to observe their leaf tissue structure and stomatal characteristics. [Result] The findings indicated that there are no differences in the leaf physiological indices between bowl lotus under hydroponics and soil culture, while the leaf stomata of hydroponic bowl lotus is bigger and its amount is larger than that of soil-culture bowl lotus. At the same time, the ratio of the palisade tissue thickness to spongy tissue thickness is small,and its leaf tissue structure is loose. The root vigor of hydroponic bowl lotus reached its summit earlier, then began to drop. Whereas, the root activity of soil-culture lotus sustained increasing, with vigorous growth. [Conclusion] Therefore, it indicated that hydroponic bowl lotus can adapt to the aquatic-culture environment well and quickly, meanwhile, it also enters into its aging period quickly and its growth cycle gets shorter.展开更多
Background:Injuries to the hamstring are relatively common in professional cricketers(as they are in many team sports) and have increased in incidence in the "T20 era"(introduction of 20-over matches) of cri...Background:Injuries to the hamstring are relatively common in professional cricketers(as they are in many team sports) and have increased in incidence in the "T20 era"(introduction of 20-over matches) of cricket since 2006.Methods:This study analyzed incidence of hamstring injury in the various elite male match types over a 20-year period(1995–1996 to 2014–2015seasons).Risk factors for hamstring strain were assessed using a multivariate logistic regression analysis technique.Results:There were 276 match time-loss hamstring injuries recorded over a 20-year period at the Australian state or national player level,of which170 occurred in one of 40,145 player match sets.The overall rate of match onset rate was 22.5 hamstring injuries per 1000 team days.Fast bowling onset injuries were the highest subcategory at a rate of 10.9 injuries per 1000 team days,although batting onset injuries were particularly common in 50-over(one day) international matches.Significant risk factors in logistic regression analysis,in addition to hamstring injury history,were being a fast bowler relative risk(RR) 2.5(95% confidence interval(CI):1.3–4.5) and playing a match in Australia RR 2.3(95%CI:1.3–3.9).Conclusion:Fast bowlers suffer more hamstring injuries than other playing roles in cricket,particularly in First Class(multi-day) cricket.Batsmen are more likely to get injured in 50-over(one day) cricket.Playing in Australia(compared to overseas venues) leads to increased risk of hamstring injury.展开更多
Objective To observe the effects of bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy on constipation,anxiety,depression and serum neuropeptide Y(NPY)content for the patients with constipation-predominant irrit...Objective To observe the effects of bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy on constipation,anxiety,depression and serum neuropeptide Y(NPY)content for the patients with constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-C).Methods Forty-two IBS-C patients were randomly assigned either into a bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture group(acupuncture group)or a mosapride citrate group(medication group)with 21 cases in each group.During the treatment,one patient in the medication group was excluded and 20 patients were included in final statistical analysis;while 21 patients completed the trial in the acupuncture group.Before treatment,after treatment and in follow-up(1 month after the whole treatment),the scores of the Cleveland clinical constipation scoring system(CCS),the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),and the self-rating depression scale(SDS)were assessed in both groups.The changes in NPY content were compared before and after treatment.Results①Total score of CCS:after treatment,the total score in the acupuncture group and the medication group were(4.76±2.10)points and(5.60±1.88)points,respectively,which were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was not significant for the between-group comparison(P>0.05).In the follow-up,the total scores were(4.19±1.69)points in the acupuncture group,and was(6.35±2.06)points in the medication group.The score in the medication group was higher than that after treatment in the same group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between acupuncture group and the medication group(P>0.05).②SAS score:after treatment,the SAS scores were(50.24±2.19)points and(53.45±2.46)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively,which was lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between two groups(P<0.05).In the follow-up,the scores were(51.95±2.27)points and(54.55±1.67)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively;which was lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05),and the difference in the score was significant between two groups(P<0.05).③SDS score:after treatment,the SDS scores were(50.71±2.70)points and(53.15±2.25)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively,which was significantly lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between the two group(P<0.05).In the follow-up,the score of the acupuncture group was(52.57±3.72)points and it was(56.60±2.42)points in the medication group,which was significantly lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between the two groups(P<0.05).④Comparison of serum NPY content:after treatment,the serum NPY content of the acupuncture group and the medication group were(7.08±3.02)mmol/L and(9.89±3.82)mmol/L,respectively,which was significantly lower than that before treatment within each group(both P<0.05).The difference was significant between the two groups(P<0.05).⑤Effective rate:after treatment,the total effective rate was 95.24%in the acupuncture group and 90.00%in the medication group,without statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusions bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy relieved the defecation-related symptoms,anxiety,and depression in IBS-C patients;and it was more effective on abdominal pain compared with mosapride citrate.Acupuncture therapy also had some long-term effect,which may be related to its regulatory effect on the serum NPY content.展开更多

The potential use of sound and vibration for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes remains largely under-explored and under-estimated.Sound and vibrational energy has great positive impact on the mind and body.It could ...The potential use of sound and vibration for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes remains largely under-explored and under-estimated.Sound and vibrational energy has great positive impact on the mind and body.It could be particularly useful for psychosomatic diseases as a complementary therapy.Singing bowls,the spiritual ancient therapy has been claimed to aid in mind relaxation and painful and inflammatory conditions.Childhood asthma is an inflammatory airway disease and a psychosomatic disorder.The psychological management in it is often neglected leading to under-treatment or a relapse.Hence,we hypothesized that sound therapy with singing bowls might be useful as complementary therapy in management of childhood asthma.We aimed to study the effect of singing bowl session on child’s asthma severity and control and on the psychological well-being.Children<18 years of age and suffering from childhood asthma were recruited after informed written consent of parents.At the baseline,demographic and clinical details were noted.Anthropometric parameters,PEFR readings,asthma severity,parental and child’s subjective feeling of well-being,asthma control score,and pediatric symptom checklist score(based on age)were determined.The child was given 15 min of singing bowl session as per the set protocol.The subjective and objective evaluation of asthma control and psychological assessment was repeated at 1 month and 3 months follow-up and compared with the baseline results for clinical significance.Eighteen children formed the study group with a mean age of 9.13±2.15 years(range 2–15.25 years).4 children had psychological issues on initial screening.There was a significant improvement in asthma severity,subjective feeling of well-being and asthma control score at 3 months(p<0.05).Singing bowl therapy could be a useful,low-cost complementary therapy in childhood asthmatics.展开更多

Experimental work is performed using a flame torch integrated with a 2-axis CNC workstation. The ABAQUS implicit solver is used in the numerical simulation. Three different strategies of the spiral irradiating scheme are investigated for the flame forming of a bowl shaped surface. The first strategy is the Simple spi- ral irradiating scheme, the second is the Rotational spiral irradiating scheme, and the third is the Symmetrical-Rotational spiral irradiating scheme. The results show that using the Symmetrical- Rotational spiral irradiating scheme, a bowl shaped surface with the maximum deformation can be produced, followed by using the Rotational scheme, and the Simple spiral scheme. It is also concluded from the results that the spiral irradiating scheme with Symmetrical-Rotational, Rota- tional and Simple spiral schemes lead to the maximum symmetries in the produced bowl shaped surface, respectively. All the numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental ob- servations.展开更多
To improve the efficiency of fetching and transplanting seedlings for the mechanization of strawberry planting,an integrated transplanting mechanism was designed with protruding,fetching and planting performance to ac...To improve the efficiency of fetching and transplanting seedlings for the mechanization of strawberry planting,an integrated transplanting mechanism was designed with protruding,fetching and planting performance to achieve rapid fetching and pushing bowl movements.According to the working principle of the slewing mechanism,a kinematics model and the optimization goal were established,respectively.Based on visual auxiliary analysis software,optimal parameters were obtained.A three-dimensional model was established to obtain a simulation trajectory by means of a virtual simulation design analysis.Three-dimensional printing technology was used to manufacture the test prototype,and the actual working trajectories of the test prototype were extracted using high-speed photography technology,which verified the consistency of the actual trajectory with the theoretical and simulated trajectories.A prototype transplanting experiment was performed with the success rate of seedling extraction of 91.2%and excellent planting rate of 82.8%,which met the requirements for integrated strawberry harvesting,planting and transplanting.The experimental results verified the correctness and feasibility of the design of integrated transplanting mechanism.展开更多

文摘Objective To observe the effects of bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy on constipation,anxiety,depression and serum neuropeptide Y(NPY)content for the patients with constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-C).Methods Forty-two IBS-C patients were randomly assigned either into a bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture group(acupuncture group)or a mosapride citrate group(medication group)with 21 cases in each group.During the treatment,one patient in the medication group was excluded and 20 patients were included in final statistical analysis;while 21 patients completed the trial in the acupuncture group.Before treatment,after treatment and in follow-up(1 month after the whole treatment),the scores of the Cleveland clinical constipation scoring system(CCS),the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),and the self-rating depression scale(SDS)were assessed in both groups.The changes in NPY content were compared before and after treatment.Results①Total score of CCS:after treatment,the total score in the acupuncture group and the medication group were(4.76±2.10)points and(5.60±1.88)points,respectively,which were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was not significant for the between-group comparison(P>0.05).In the follow-up,the total scores were(4.19±1.69)points in the acupuncture group,and was(6.35±2.06)points in the medication group.The score in the medication group was higher than that after treatment in the same group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between acupuncture group and the medication group(P>0.05).②SAS score:after treatment,the SAS scores were(50.24±2.19)points and(53.45±2.46)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively,which was lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between two groups(P<0.05).In the follow-up,the scores were(51.95±2.27)points and(54.55±1.67)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively;which was lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05),and the difference in the score was significant between two groups(P<0.05).③SDS score:after treatment,the SDS scores were(50.71±2.70)points and(53.15±2.25)points in the acupuncture group and the medication group,respectively,which was significantly lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between the two group(P<0.05).In the follow-up,the score of the acupuncture group was(52.57±3.72)points and it was(56.60±2.42)points in the medication group,which was significantly lower than that before treatment in the two groups(both P<0.05);and the difference in the score was significant between the two groups(P<0.05).④Comparison of serum NPY content:after treatment,the serum NPY content of the acupuncture group and the medication group were(7.08±3.02)mmol/L and(9.89±3.82)mmol/L,respectively,which was significantly lower than that before treatment within each group(both P<0.05).The difference was significant between the two groups(P<0.05).⑤Effective rate:after treatment,the total effective rate was 95.24%in the acupuncture group and 90.00%in the medication group,without statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusions bowls-unblocking and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy relieved the defecation-related symptoms,anxiety,and depression in IBS-C patients;and it was more effective on abdominal pain compared with mosapride citrate.Acupuncture therapy also had some long-term effect,which may be related to its regulatory effect on the serum NPY content.

文摘The conjugated polycycles show excellent optical and electrical properties that are suitable for application in various organic electronics.While most of attentions have been paid to polycycles having planar π-conjugated system,the curved polycycles seem amazing due to their unique physical and chemical features.The non-planar conjugated polycycles have been created with the geometries of bracelet,saddle,bowl,Mobius band,helicenes,etc.Among them,the bowl-shaped one is of growing interest owing to the multidiscipline applications such as synthetic intermediates for end-cap of carbon nanotube,coordination with metal ions,encapsulation of fullerenes,and fabrication of electronic devices.In this paper,we summarize the recent advances on the chemistry of the bowl-shaped conjugated polycycles,particularly on their synthesis and the further chemical modifications toward organic functional materials.
文摘The potential use of sound and vibration for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes remains largely under-explored and under-estimated.Sound and vibrational energy has great positive impact on the mind and body.It could be particularly useful for psychosomatic diseases as a complementary therapy.Singing bowls,the spiritual ancient therapy has been claimed to aid in mind relaxation and painful and inflammatory conditions.Childhood asthma is an inflammatory airway disease and a psychosomatic disorder.The psychological management in it is often neglected leading to under-treatment or a relapse.Hence,we hypothesized that sound therapy with singing bowls might be useful as complementary therapy in management of childhood asthma.We aimed to study the effect of singing bowl session on child’s asthma severity and control and on the psychological well-being.Children<18 years of age and suffering from childhood asthma were recruited after informed written consent of parents.At the baseline,demographic and clinical details were noted.Anthropometric parameters,PEFR readings,asthma severity,parental and child’s subjective feeling of well-being,asthma control score,and pediatric symptom checklist score(based on age)were determined.The child was given 15 min of singing bowl session as per the set protocol.The subjective and objective evaluation of asthma control and psychological assessment was repeated at 1 month and 3 months follow-up and compared with the baseline results for clinical significance.Eighteen children formed the study group with a mean age of 9.13±2.15 years(range 2–15.25 years).4 children had psychological issues on initial screening.There was a significant improvement in asthma severity,subjective feeling of well-being and asthma control score at 3 months(p<0.05).Singing bowl therapy could be a useful,low-cost complementary therapy in childhood asthmatics.

文摘Carbon is a promising capacitive electrode material for Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSCs),as it is low-cost,environmentally friendly,controllable and adjustable.By now,achieving both high energy and high power with carbon electrodes is still challenging,limited by their intrinsic properties.In this work,we have designed and presented an amorphous hollow carbon bowl material with surface chemical modifications of oxygen groups to figure out these concerns.The preparation of bowl-like structures and the storage behavior between Zn^(2+)and oxygen functional groups have also been discussed.With the contributions from its unique hollow structure and surface functional groups,it can significantly enhance the electrode pseudocapacitance and the entire electrochemical performance.
文摘The adsorption characteristics of rare earth ion La(Ⅲ) on Yunnan bowl tea surface from aqueous solution and effects of various surfactants on the adsorption were studied. It was found that Yunnan bowl tea can adsorb strongly La(Ⅲ) and pH may affect drastically the adsorption amount of La(Ⅲ). The adsorption law of La(Ⅲ) on Yunnan bowl tea surface follows the Langmuir equation. The maximum adsorption amount of La(Ⅲ) can reach 15 mg·g (-1). A comprehensive adsorption model is suggested according to the experimental results.

文摘In this paper, various strategies of spiral irradiating scheme for the flame forming of a bowl shaped surface are investigated experimentally and numerically. Experimental work is performed using a flame torch integrated with a 2-axis CNC workstation. The ABAQUS implicit solver is used in the numerical simulation. Three different strategies of the spiral irradiating scheme are investigated for the flame forming of a bowl shaped surface. The first strategy is the Simple spi- ral irradiating scheme, the second is the Rotational spiral irradiating scheme, and the third is the Symmetrical-Rotational spiral irradiating scheme. The results show that using the Symmetrical- Rotational spiral irradiating scheme, a bowl shaped surface with the maximum deformation can be produced, followed by using the Rotational scheme, and the Simple spiral scheme. It is also concluded from the results that the spiral irradiating scheme with Symmetrical-Rotational, Rota- tional and Simple spiral schemes lead to the maximum symmetries in the produced bowl shaped surface, respectively. All the numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental ob- servations.

文摘To improve the efficiency of fetching and transplanting seedlings for the mechanization of strawberry planting,an integrated transplanting mechanism was designed with protruding,fetching and planting performance to achieve rapid fetching and pushing bowl movements.According to the working principle of the slewing mechanism,a kinematics model and the optimization goal were established,respectively.Based on visual auxiliary analysis software,optimal parameters were obtained.A three-dimensional model was established to obtain a simulation trajectory by means of a virtual simulation design analysis.Three-dimensional printing technology was used to manufacture the test prototype,and the actual working trajectories of the test prototype were extracted using high-speed photography technology,which verified the consistency of the actual trajectory with the theoretical and simulated trajectories.A prototype transplanting experiment was performed with the success rate of seedling extraction of 91.2%and excellent planting rate of 82.8%,which met the requirements for integrated strawberry harvesting,planting and transplanting.The experimental results verified the correctness and feasibility of the design of integrated transplanting mechanism.
