Objective:To explore the evolvement and new trends in the use of Shuanghuanglian injection(SHLI).Methods:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),PubMed,and Embase were extensively searched using the search terms“Shuanghuanglian injection”and“Shuanghuanglian fenzhen”to retrieve articles relevant to SHLI(1992e2020).Retrieved articles were further investigated by two authors to exclude those unrelated to SHLI.The bibliographical references of the included articles were exported as raw data and then treated using the CiteSpace tool to visualize the mapping of the SHLI research domain.Essential clusters and highly frequent keywords were quantified for further analysis. The clusters were automatically labeled by the algorithm of tf*idf for objective analysis.Basic bibliometric features, including article types and yearly trend in article numbers were also determined and discussed. Results:The modules of the keywords of interest presented clear boundaries with a high modularity score(Q=0.73).High-confidence clusters were identified, including bioactivity fingerprint(S=0.99),equal pupils(S=0.91),drug preparation department(S=0.87),difficulty in respiration(S=0.85),peristalsis(0.88),and Danshen powder injection(S=0.94).The characteristic keywords in terms of frequency and burstiness were Shuanghuanglian powder for injection(F=235,B=5.22),SHLI(F=112,B=11.39),and adverse drug reactions(ADRs;F=104,B=7.35).Conclusion:In the field of SHLI study, there are five major topic categories:bioactivity fingerprint;ADR mechanism and cause detection;proper preparation;clinical evidence accumulation;and efficacy in diseases with no effective treatment and combination usage. The trend for using modern methodologies from a science-based perspective to study SHLI will continue to exist. The causes of multi-factorial ADRs may be an important topic for future studies. 展开更多

AIM: To analyze the progress in diabetic retinopathy (DR) researches between 2000 and 2010 through bibliometric study. METHODS: Using ISI Web of Science database for statistical sources, we retrieved DR literatures during 2000-2010, analyzed 'the number of published articles per year, authors, source publications, subject category, document type, document language, institution and country/region' by bibliometric statistical methods. RESULTS: The total number of published articles that were retrieved for the years during 2000-2010 was 8590. DR researches changed as a linear upward trend, the main researches focused on ophthalmology, endocrine and metabolic diseases. Article was the main document type. Harvard University was the major research institution. CONCLUSION: There has achieved a significant increase in the number of ISI publications and collaborations in DR literatures from 2000 to 2010. With the rising of the number of diabetes in the world, diabetic retinopathy has become a focus of scientific researches. 展开更多

To the Editor:As early as in the mid-19th century, microbiologists first recognized multiple microorganisms within human tumors.Nevertheless, the perceptions of intratumor microbiome have made little progression during the first 50 years of the 20th century owing to contamination interference, experimental irreproducibility, and technical limitations.Strikingly,in the past decade, the advances in detection techniques and analytical tools have been opening unprecedented opportunities to widely investigate the manifold characteristics of low-biomass intratumor microbiome and host–microbe interplays. In the early second decade of the 21st century, researchers focusing on the intratumor microbiome gradually emerged.Initially, this adventurous perspective failed to draw much attention because tumors were still considered sterile in the mainstream belief at that time. 展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the current state of research and areas of interest for traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in the field of colorectal cancer treatment. Methods:Related papers published between January 1,2012,and November 27,2021,were found using the Web of Science Core Collection Science Citation Index Expanded.Using CiteSpace's network map generation capability,we then determined the top writers,organizations,countries,keywords,co-cited writers, journals, references, and research trends. Results:This investigation yielded a total of 336 relevant papers.China is the most productive country.Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the leading institution. The journal with the most popularity and publishing volume is Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. The author with the most citations and centrality is Lin JM.The terms"epithelial-mesenchymal transition,""cell cycle arrest,""apoptosis,"and"autophagy"are highly frequent and have a high betweenness centrality. Conclusion:According to the results, research on natural products, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)extracts, and the molecular mechanisms of TCM chemical constituents constitutes the primary focus within TCM cancer treatment investigations. In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in exploring the role of gut microbiota in TCM chemical constituents research, particularly in its ability to induce apoptosis and autophagy in tumor cells, thereby suppressing tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, and invasion. However, due to the intricate composition of TCM and existing technical limitations, the underlying principles guiding TCM's efficacy in treating colorectal cancer remain unclear and warrant further investigation. 展开更多

The main objective of the study is to assess the growth and expansion of public health(PH)research works by Bangladeshi authors from various perspectives such as quantum of growth, patterns of collaboration, and productivity of authorship, among others. The present research uses a scientometric technique to examine secondary literature. Between 2000 and 2015, 871literature by Bangladeshi writers and 3,71,389 literature by worldwide authors on PH were retrieved from the Scopus database and evaluated using quantitative indicators to study growth and development from various perspectives. The highest growth in terms of the number of publications has been observed in the year 2015(133) and the lowest in 2001(10). The PR(Percent of Growth Rate) shows that 2001 was the deepest decreasing year(-38%) whereas 2002was the most increasing year(90%). During the study, RGR(Relative Growth Rate) values of Bangladeshi contributions to PH literature varied from 0.16 to 0.55, with an average of 0.27. The CC(Collaborative Coefficient) value indicates that during the research period, there was a substantial amount of collaboration among the authors. At the same time, the PPA(Productivity Per Author) value(0.31) denotes that throughout the era, each Bangladeshi author produced less than half of a publication per year. The mean Activity Index(AI) during 2000-2015 was 89.14,which reflects lower activity than the world’s average in PH literature. It was also observed that research productivity in public health of Bangladesh follows Lotka’s inverse rule of author production. According to the findings, there is a strong link between public health research output in emerging and developed nations. 展开更多
