In this study,we construct a bi-level optimization model based on the Stackelberg game and propose a robust optimization algorithm for solving the bi-level model,assuming an actual situation with several participants ...In this study,we construct a bi-level optimization model based on the Stackelberg game and propose a robust optimization algorithm for solving the bi-level model,assuming an actual situation with several participants in energy trading.Firstly,the energy trading process is analyzed between each subject based on the establishment of the operation framework of multi-agent participation in energy trading.Secondly,the optimal operation model of each energy trading agent is established to develop a bi-level game model including each energy participant.Finally,a combination algorithm of improved robust optimization over time(ROOT)and CPLEX is proposed to solve the established game model.The experimental results indicate that under different fitness thresholds,the robust optimization results of the proposed algorithm are increased by 56.91%and 68.54%,respectively.The established bi-level game model effectively balances the benefits of different energy trading entities.The proposed algorithm proposed can increase the income of each participant in the game by an average of 8.59%.展开更多
Wind farm layout optimization is a critical challenge in renewable energy development,especially in regions with complex terrain.Micro-siting of wind turbines has a significant impact on the overall efficiency and eco...Wind farm layout optimization is a critical challenge in renewable energy development,especially in regions with complex terrain.Micro-siting of wind turbines has a significant impact on the overall efficiency and economic viability of wind farm,where the wake effect,wind speed,types of wind turbines,etc.,have an impact on the output power of the wind farm.To solve the optimization problem of wind farm layout under complex terrain conditions,this paper proposes wind turbine layout optimization using different types of wind turbines,the aim is to reduce the influence of the wake effect and maximize economic benefits.The linear wake model is used for wake flow calculation over complex terrain.Minimizing the unit energy cost is taken as the objective function,considering that the objective function is affected by cost and output power,which influence each other.The cost function includes construction cost,installation cost,maintenance cost,etc.Therefore,a bi-level constrained optimization model is established,in which the upper-level objective function is to minimize the unit energy cost,and the lower-level objective function is to maximize the output power.Then,a hybrid evolutionary algorithm is designed according to the characteristics of the decision variables.The improved genetic algorithm and differential evolution are used to optimize the upper-level and lower-level objective functions,respectively,these evolutionary operations search for the optimal solution as much as possible.Finally,taking the roughness of different terrain,wind farms of different scales and different types of wind turbines as research scenarios,the optimal deployment is solved by using the algorithm in this paper,and four algorithms are compared to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.展开更多
Traditional demand response(DR)programs for energy-intensive industries(EIIs)primarily rely on electricity price signals and often overlook carbon emission factors,limiting their effectiveness in supporting lowcarbon ...Traditional demand response(DR)programs for energy-intensive industries(EIIs)primarily rely on electricity price signals and often overlook carbon emission factors,limiting their effectiveness in supporting lowcarbon transitions.To address this challenge,this paper proposes an electricity–carbon integratedDR strategy based on a bi-level collaborative optimization framework that coordinates the interaction between the grid and EIIs.At the upper level,the grid operatorminimizes generation and curtailment costs by optimizing unit commitment while determining real-time electricity prices and dynamic carbon emission factors.At the lower level,EIIs respond to these dual signals by minimizing their combined electricity and carbon trading costs,considering their participation in medium-and long-term electricity markets,day-ahead spot markets,and carbon emissions trading schemes.The model accounts for direct and indirect carbon emissions,distributed photovoltaic(PV)generation,and battery energy storage systems.This interaction is structured as a Stackelberg game,where the grid acts as the leader and EIIs as followers,enabling dynamic feedback between pricing signals and load response.Simulation studies on an improved IEEE 30-bus system,with a cement plant as a representative user form EIIs,show that the proposed strategy reduces user-side carbon emissions by 7.95% and grid-side generation cost by 4.66%,though the user’s energy cost increases by 7.80% due to carbon trading.Theresults confirmthat the joint guidance of electricity and carbon prices effectively reshapes user load profiles,encourages peak shaving,and improves PV utilization.This coordinated approach not only achieves emission reduction and cost efficiency but also offers a theoretical and practical foundation for integrating carbon pricing into demand-side energy management in future low-carbon power systems.展开更多
Trapped ion hardware has made significant progress recently and is now one of the leading platforms for quantum computing.To construct two-qubit gates in trapped ions,experimentalmanipulation approaches for ion chains...Trapped ion hardware has made significant progress recently and is now one of the leading platforms for quantum computing.To construct two-qubit gates in trapped ions,experimentalmanipulation approaches for ion chains are becoming increasingly prevalent.Given the restricted control technology,how implementing high-fidelity quantum gate operations is crucial.Many works in current pulse design optimization focus on ion–phonon and effective ion–ion couplings while ignoring the first-order derivative terms expansion impacts of these two terms brought on by experiment defects.This paper proposes a novel robust quantum control optimization method in trapped ions.By introducing the first-order derivative terms caused by the error into the optimization cost function,we generate an extremely robust Mølmer–Sørensen gate with infidelity below 10^(−3) under a drift noise range of±10 kHz,the relative robustness achieves a tolerance of±5%,compared to the 200-kHz frequency spacing between phonon modes,and for time noise drift,the tolerance reached to 2%.Our work reveals the vital role of the first-order derivative terms of coupling in trapped ion pulse control optimization,especially the first-order derivative terms of ion–ion coupling.It provides a robust optimization scheme for realizing more efficient entangled states in trapped ion platforms.展开更多
Addressing climate change and facilitating the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources(RESs)have driven the development of hydrogen-coupled integrated energy systems(HIES),which enhance energy sustainabili...Addressing climate change and facilitating the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources(RESs)have driven the development of hydrogen-coupled integrated energy systems(HIES),which enhance energy sustainability through coordinated electricity,thermal,natural gas,and hydrogen utilization.This study proposes a two-stage distributionally robust optimization(DRO)-based scheduling method to improve the economic efficiency and reduce carbon emissions of HIES.The framework incorporates a ladder-type carbon trading mechanism to regulate emissions and implements a demand response(DR)program to adjustflexible multi-energy loads,thereby prioritizing RES consumption.Uncertainties from RES generation and load demand are addressed through an ambiguity set,enabling robust decision-making.The column-and-constraint generation(C&CG)algorithm efficiently solves the two-stage DRO model.Case studies demonstrate that the proposed method reduces operational costs by 3.56%,increases photovoltaic consumption rates by 5.44%,and significantly lowers carbon emissions compared to conventional approaches.Furthermore,the DRO framework achieves a superior balance between conservativeness and robustness over conventional stochastic and robust optimization methods,highlighting its potential to advance cost-effective,low-carbon energy systems while ensuring grid stability under uncertainty.展开更多

However, due to the existence of uncertainties in material properties and geometry, it is imperative to incorporate uncertainty analysis into the design optimization to obtain reliable results. In this paper, a six sigma robust design optimization based on Successive Response Surface Method(SRSM) is established for the TPS to improve the reliability and robustness with considering the uncertainties. The uncertain parameters related to material properties and thicknesses of insulation layers are considered and characterized by random variables following normal distributions. By employing SRSM, the values of objective function and constraints are approximated by the response surfaces to reduce computational cost. The optimization is an iterative process with response surfaces updating to find the true optimal solution. The optimization of the nose cone of hypersonic vehicle cabin is provided as an example to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多
In the reliability designing procedure of the vehicle components, when the distribution styles of the random variables are unknown or non-normal distribution, the result evaluated contains great error or even is wrong...In the reliability designing procedure of the vehicle components, when the distribution styles of the random variables are unknown or non-normal distribution, the result evaluated contains great error or even is wrong if the reliability value R is larger than 1 by using the existent method, in which case the formula is necessary to be revised. This is obviously inconvenient for programming. Combining reliability-based optimization theory, robust designing method and reliability based sensitivity analysis, a new method for reliability robust designing is proposed. Therefore the influence level of the designing parameters’ changing to the reliability of vehicle components can be obtained. The reliability sensitivity with respect to design parameters is viewed as a sub-objective function in the multi-objective optimization problem satisfying reliability constraints. Given the first four moments of basic random variables, a fourth-moment technique and the proposed optimization procedure can obtain reliability-based robust design of automobile components with non-normal distribution parameters accurately and quickly. By using the proposed method, the distribution style of the random parameters is relaxed. Therefore it is much closer to the actual reliability problems. The numerical examples indicate the following: (1) The reliability value obtained by the robust method proposed increases (】0.04%) comparing to the value obtained by the ordinary optimization algorithm; (2) The absolute value of reliability-based sensitivity decreases (】0.01%), and the robustness of the products’ quality is improved accordingly. Utilizing the reliability-based optimization and robust design method in the reliability designing procedure reduces the manufacture cost and provides the theoretical basis for the reliability and robust design of the vehicle components.展开更多

A low-order panel method is used for aerodynamic analysis in the first-level optimization, and a high-order panel method is employed in the second-level optimization. It is concluded that the design of the abovementioned structural parameters of a wing can be improved using the present method with high efficiency. An improvement is seen in aeroelastic performance of the wing obtained with the present method when compared to the initial wing. Since these optimized structures are obtained after consideration of aerodynamic and structural uncertainties, they are well suited to encounter these uncertainties when they occur in reality.展开更多
Metamodeling techniques have been used in robust optimization to reduce the high computational cost of the uncertainty analysis and improve the performance of robust optimization problems with computationally expensiv...Metamodeling techniques have been used in robust optimization to reduce the high computational cost of the uncertainty analysis and improve the performance of robust optimization problems with computationally expensive simulation models. Existing metamodels main focus on polynomial regression(PR), neural networks(NN) and Kriging models, these metamodels are not well suited for large-scale robust optimization problems with small size training sets and high nonlinearity. To address the problem, a reduced approximation model technique based on support vector regression(SVR) is introduced in order to improve the accuracy of metamodels. A robust optimization method based on SVR is presented for problems that involve high dimension and nonlinear. First appropriate design parameter samples are selected by experimental design theories, then the response samples are obtained from the simulations such as finite element analysis, the SVR metamodel is constructed and treated as the mean and the variance of the objective performance functions. Combining other constraints, the robust optimization model is formed which can be solved by genetic algorithm (GA). The applicability of the method developed is demonstrated using a case of two-bar structure system study. The performances of SVR were compared with those of PR, Kriging and back-propagation neural networks(BPNN), the comparison results show that the prediction accuracy of the SVR metamodel was higher than those of other metamodels under uncertainty. The robust optimization solutions are near to the real result, and the proposed method is found to be accurate and efficient for robust optimization. This reaserch provides an efficient method for robust optimization problems with complex structure.展开更多

However, there may exist complex interaction between parameters and practical engineering system. With the increase of the number of parameters, it is getting hard to determine high-dimensional curves and robust control methods, thus it's difficult to get the robust design solutions. In this paper, a method of global sensitivity analysis based on divided variables in groups is proposed. By making relevant variables in one group and keeping each other independent among sets of variables, global sensitivity analysis is conducted in grouped variables and the importance of parameters is evaluated by calculating the contribution value of each parameter to the total variance of system response. By ranking the importance of input parameters, relatively important parameters are chosen to conduct robust design analysis of the system. By applying this method to the robust optimization design of a real complex nonlinear system-a vehicle occupant restraint system with multi-parameter, good solution is gained and the response variance of the objective function is reduced to 0.01, which indicates that the robustness of the occupant restraint system is improved in a great degree and the method is effective and valuable for the robust design of complex nonlinear system. Collaborativ...A novel method for robust collaborative design of complex products based on dual-response surface (DRS-RCO) is proposed to solve multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) problems under uncertainty. Collaborative optimization (CO) which decomposes the whole system into a double-level nonlinear optimization problem is widely accepted as an efficient method to solve MDO problems. In order to improve the quality of complex product in design process, robust collaborative optimization (RCO) is developed to solve those problems under uncertain conditions. RCO does optimization on the linear sum of mean and standard deviation of objective function and gets an optimal solution with high robustness. Response surfaces method is an important way to do approximation in robust design. DRS-RCO is an improved RCO method in which dual-response surface replaces system uncertainty analysis module of CO. The dual-response surface is the approximate model of mean and standard deviation of objective function respectively. In DRS-RCO, All the information of subsystems is included in dual-response surfaces. As an additional item, the standard deviation of objective function is added to the subsystem optimization. This item guarantee both the mean and standard deviation of this subsystem is reaching the minima at the same time. Finally, a test problem with two coupled subsystems is conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of DRS-RCO.展开更多

This method is an effective approach to multidisciplinary systems, which can be used to designer experiences during the design optimization process by fuzzy preference functions. In this study, two optimizations are done for Predator MQ-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV):(A) deterministic optimization and(B) robust optimization. In both problems, minimization of takeoff weight and drag is considered as objective functions, which have been optimized using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA). In the robust design optimization, cruise altitude and velocity are considered as uncertainties that are modeled by the Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS) method. Aerodynamics, stability and control, mass properties, performance, and center of gravity are used for multidisciplinary analysis. Robust design optimization results show 46% and 42% robustness improvement for takeoff weight and cruise drag relative to optimal design respectively.展开更多

The current researches on fouling-induced performance degradations of centrifugal compressors are based mainly on simplified roughness models without taking into account the realistic factors such as spatial non-uniformity and randomness of the fouling-induced surface roughness. Moreover, little attention has been paid to the robust design optimization of centrifugal compressor impellers with considerations of blade fouling. In this paper, a multi-objective robust design optimization method is developed for centrifugal impellers under surface roughness uncertainties due to blade fouling. A three-dimensional surface roughness map is proposed to describe the nonuniformity and randomness of realistic fouling accumulations on blades. To lower computational cost in robust design optimization, the support vector regression(SVR) metamodel is combined with the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS) method to conduct the uncertainty analysis of fouled impeller performance. The analyzed results show that the critical fouled region associated with impeller performance degradations lies at the leading edge of blade tip. The SVR metamodel has been proved to be an efficient and accurate means in the detection of impeller performance variations caused by roughness uncertainties. After design optimization, the robust optimal design is found to be more efficient and less sensitive to fouling uncertainties while maintaining good impeller performance in the clean condition. This research proposes a systematic design optimization method for centrifugal compressors with considerations of blade fouling, providing a practical guidance to the design of advanced centrifugal compressors.展开更多
To accommodate wind power as safely as possible and deal with the uncertainties of the output power of winddriven generators,a min-max-min two-stage robust optimization model is presented,considering the unit commitme...To accommodate wind power as safely as possible and deal with the uncertainties of the output power of winddriven generators,a min-max-min two-stage robust optimization model is presented,considering the unit commitment,source-network load collaboration,and control of the load demand response.After the constraint functions are linearized,the original problem is decomposed into the main problem and subproblem as a matrix using the strong dual method.The minimum-maximum of the original problem was continuously maximized using the iterative method,and the optimal solution was finally obtained.The constraint conditions expressed by the matrix may reduce the calculation time,and the upper and lower boundaries of the original problem may rapidly converge.The results of the example show that the injected nodes of the wind farms in the power grid should be selected appropriately;otherwise,it is easy to cause excessive accommodation of wind power at some nodes,leading to a surge in reserve costs and the load demand response is continuously optimized to reduce the inverse peak regulation characteristics of wind power.Thus,the most economical optimization scheme for the worst scenario of the output power of the generators is obtained,which proves the economy and reliability of the two-stage robust optimization method.展开更多

This design problem is defined by 21 design variables and 23 constraints, and its objective is to maximize the ratio of payload to weight. Regular coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic prevention and control have raised new require-ments that necessitate operation-strategy innovation in urban rail transit.To alleviate increasingly seri-ous congestio...Regular coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic prevention and control have raised new require-ments that necessitate operation-strategy innovation in urban rail transit.To alleviate increasingly seri-ous congestion and further reduce the risk of cross-infection,a novel two-stage distributionally robust optimization(DRO)model is explicitly constructed,in which the probability distribution of stochastic scenarios is only partially known in advance.In the proposed model,the mean-conditional value-at-risk(CVaR)criterion is employed to obtain a tradeoff between the expected number of waiting passen-gers and the risk of congestion on an urban rail transit line.The relationship between the proposed DRO model and the traditional two-stage stochastic programming(SP)model is also depicted.Furthermore,to overcome the obstacle of model solvability resulting from imprecise probability distributions,a discrepancy-based ambiguity set is used to transform the robust counterpart into its computationally tractable form.A hybrid algorithm that combines a local search algorithm with a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)solver is developed to improve the computational efficiency of large-scale instances.Finally,a series of numerical examples with real-world operation data are executed to validate the pro-posed approaches.展开更多

文摘Wind farm layout optimization is a critical challenge in renewable energy development,especially in regions with complex terrain.Micro-siting of wind turbines has a significant impact on the overall efficiency and economic viability of wind farm,where the wake effect,wind speed,types of wind turbines,etc.,have an impact on the output power of the wind farm.To solve the optimization problem of wind farm layout under complex terrain conditions,this paper proposes wind turbine layout optimization using different types of wind turbines,the aim is to reduce the influence of the wake effect and maximize economic benefits.The linear wake model is used for wake flow calculation over complex terrain.Minimizing the unit energy cost is taken as the objective function,considering that the objective function is affected by cost and output power,which influence each other.The cost function includes construction cost,installation cost,maintenance cost,etc.Therefore,a bi-level constrained optimization model is established,in which the upper-level objective function is to minimize the unit energy cost,and the lower-level objective function is to maximize the output power.Then,a hybrid evolutionary algorithm is designed according to the characteristics of the decision variables.The improved genetic algorithm and differential evolution are used to optimize the upper-level and lower-level objective functions,respectively,these evolutionary operations search for the optimal solution as much as possible.Finally,taking the roughness of different terrain,wind farms of different scales and different types of wind turbines as research scenarios,the optimal deployment is solved by using the algorithm in this paper,and four algorithms are compared to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

文摘Traditional demand response(DR)programs for energy-intensive industries(EIIs)primarily rely on electricity price signals and often overlook carbon emission factors,limiting their effectiveness in supporting lowcarbon transitions.To address this challenge,this paper proposes an electricity–carbon integratedDR strategy based on a bi-level collaborative optimization framework that coordinates the interaction between the grid and EIIs.At the upper level,the grid operatorminimizes generation and curtailment costs by optimizing unit commitment while determining real-time electricity prices and dynamic carbon emission factors.At the lower level,EIIs respond to these dual signals by minimizing their combined electricity and carbon trading costs,considering their participation in medium-and long-term electricity markets,day-ahead spot markets,and carbon emissions trading schemes.The model accounts for direct and indirect carbon emissions,distributed photovoltaic(PV)generation,and battery energy storage systems.This interaction is structured as a Stackelberg game,where the grid acts as the leader and EIIs as followers,enabling dynamic feedback between pricing signals and load response.Simulation studies on an improved IEEE 30-bus system,with a cement plant as a representative user form EIIs,show that the proposed strategy reduces user-side carbon emissions by 7.95% and grid-side generation cost by 4.66%,though the user’s energy cost increases by 7.80% due to carbon trading.Theresults confirmthat the joint guidance of electricity and carbon prices effectively reshapes user load profiles,encourages peak shaving,and improves PV utilization.This coordinated approach not only achieves emission reduction and cost efficiency but also offers a theoretical and practical foundation for integrating carbon pricing into demand-side energy management in future low-carbon power systems.
文摘Trapped ion hardware has made significant progress recently and is now one of the leading platforms for quantum computing.To construct two-qubit gates in trapped ions,experimentalmanipulation approaches for ion chains are becoming increasingly prevalent.Given the restricted control technology,how implementing high-fidelity quantum gate operations is crucial.Many works in current pulse design optimization focus on ion–phonon and effective ion–ion couplings while ignoring the first-order derivative terms expansion impacts of these two terms brought on by experiment defects.This paper proposes a novel robust quantum control optimization method in trapped ions.By introducing the first-order derivative terms caused by the error into the optimization cost function,we generate an extremely robust Mølmer–Sørensen gate with infidelity below 10^(−3) under a drift noise range of±10 kHz,the relative robustness achieves a tolerance of±5%,compared to the 200-kHz frequency spacing between phonon modes,and for time noise drift,the tolerance reached to 2%.Our work reveals the vital role of the first-order derivative terms of coupling in trapped ion pulse control optimization,especially the first-order derivative terms of ion–ion coupling.It provides a robust optimization scheme for realizing more efficient entangled states in trapped ion platforms.

文摘Addressing climate change and facilitating the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources(RESs)have driven the development of hydrogen-coupled integrated energy systems(HIES),which enhance energy sustainability through coordinated electricity,thermal,natural gas,and hydrogen utilization.This study proposes a two-stage distributionally robust optimization(DRO)-based scheduling method to improve the economic efficiency and reduce carbon emissions of HIES.The framework incorporates a ladder-type carbon trading mechanism to regulate emissions and implements a demand response(DR)program to adjustflexible multi-energy loads,thereby prioritizing RES consumption.Uncertainties from RES generation and load demand are addressed through an ambiguity set,enabling robust decision-making.The column-and-constraint generation(C&CG)algorithm efficiently solves the two-stage DRO model.Case studies demonstrate that the proposed method reduces operational costs by 3.56%,increases photovoltaic consumption rates by 5.44%,and significantly lowers carbon emissions compared to conventional approaches.Furthermore,the DRO framework achieves a superior balance between conservativeness and robustness over conventional stochastic and robust optimization methods,highlighting its potential to advance cost-effective,low-carbon energy systems while ensuring grid stability under uncertainty.

文摘A chance-constrained energy dispatch model based on the distributed stochastic model predictive control(DSMPC)approach for an islanded multi-microgrid system is proposed.An ambiguity set considering the inherent uncertainties of renewable energy sources(RESs)is constructed without requiring the full distribution knowledge of the uncertainties.The power balance chance constraint is reformulated within the framework of the distributionally robust optimization(DRO)approach.With the exchange of information and energy flow,each microgrid can achieve its local supply-demand balance.Furthermore,the closed-loop stability and recursive feasibility of the proposed algorithm are proved.The comparative results with other DSMPC methods show that a trade-off between robustness and economy can be achieved.

文摘The influence of processing parameters on the precision of parts fabricated by fused deposition modeling (FDM) technology is studied based on a series of performed experiments. Processing parameters of FDM in terms of wire-width compensation, extrusion velocity, filing velocity, and layer thickness are chosen as the control fac- tors. Robust design analysis and multi-index fuzzy comprehensive assessment method are used to obtain the opti- mal parameters. Results show that the influencing degrees of these four factors on the precision of as-processed parts are different. The optimizations of individual parameters and their combined effects are of the same impor- tance for a high precision manufacturing.

文摘Lightweight design is important for the Thermal Protection System(TPS) of hypersonic vehicles in that it protects the inner structure from severe heating environment. However, due to the existence of uncertainties in material properties and geometry, it is imperative to incorporate uncertainty analysis into the design optimization to obtain reliable results. In this paper, a six sigma robust design optimization based on Successive Response Surface Method(SRSM) is established for the TPS to improve the reliability and robustness with considering the uncertainties. The uncertain parameters related to material properties and thicknesses of insulation layers are considered and characterized by random variables following normal distributions. By employing SRSM, the values of objective function and constraints are approximated by the response surfaces to reduce computational cost. The optimization is an iterative process with response surfaces updating to find the true optimal solution. The optimization of the nose cone of hypersonic vehicle cabin is provided as an example to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘In the reliability designing procedure of the vehicle components, when the distribution styles of the random variables are unknown or non-normal distribution, the result evaluated contains great error or even is wrong if the reliability value R is larger than 1 by using the existent method, in which case the formula is necessary to be revised. This is obviously inconvenient for programming. Combining reliability-based optimization theory, robust designing method and reliability based sensitivity analysis, a new method for reliability robust designing is proposed. Therefore the influence level of the designing parameters’ changing to the reliability of vehicle components can be obtained. The reliability sensitivity with respect to design parameters is viewed as a sub-objective function in the multi-objective optimization problem satisfying reliability constraints. Given the first four moments of basic random variables, a fourth-moment technique and the proposed optimization procedure can obtain reliability-based robust design of automobile components with non-normal distribution parameters accurately and quickly. By using the proposed method, the distribution style of the random parameters is relaxed. Therefore it is much closer to the actual reliability problems. The numerical examples indicate the following: (1) The reliability value obtained by the robust method proposed increases (】0.04%) comparing to the value obtained by the ordinary optimization algorithm; (2) The absolute value of reliability-based sensitivity decreases (】0.01%), and the robustness of the products’ quality is improved accordingly. Utilizing the reliability-based optimization and robust design method in the reliability designing procedure reduces the manufacture cost and provides the theoretical basis for the reliability and robust design of the vehicle components.

文摘An aeroelastic two-level optimization methodology for preliminary design of wing struc- tures is presented, in which the parameters for structural layout and sizes are taken as design vari- ables in the first-level optimization, and robust constraints in conjunction with conventional aeroelastic constraints are considered in the second-level optimization. A low-order panel method is used for aerodynamic analysis in the first-level optimization, and a high-order panel method is employed in the second-level optimization. It is concluded that the design of the abovementioned structural parameters of a wing can be improved using the present method with high efficiency. An improvement is seen in aeroelastic performance of the wing obtained with the present method when compared to the initial wing. Since these optimized structures are obtained after consideration of aerodynamic and structural uncertainties, they are well suited to encounter these uncertainties when they occur in reality.

文摘Metamodeling techniques have been used in robust optimization to reduce the high computational cost of the uncertainty analysis and improve the performance of robust optimization problems with computationally expensive simulation models. Existing metamodels main focus on polynomial regression(PR), neural networks(NN) and Kriging models, these metamodels are not well suited for large-scale robust optimization problems with small size training sets and high nonlinearity. To address the problem, a reduced approximation model technique based on support vector regression(SVR) is introduced in order to improve the accuracy of metamodels. A robust optimization method based on SVR is presented for problems that involve high dimension and nonlinear. First appropriate design parameter samples are selected by experimental design theories, then the response samples are obtained from the simulations such as finite element analysis, the SVR metamodel is constructed and treated as the mean and the variance of the objective performance functions. Combining other constraints, the robust optimization model is formed which can be solved by genetic algorithm (GA). The applicability of the method developed is demonstrated using a case of two-bar structure system study. The performances of SVR were compared with those of PR, Kriging and back-propagation neural networks(BPNN), the comparison results show that the prediction accuracy of the SVR metamodel was higher than those of other metamodels under uncertainty. The robust optimization solutions are near to the real result, and the proposed method is found to be accurate and efficient for robust optimization. This reaserch provides an efficient method for robust optimization problems with complex structure.

文摘The current research of complex nonlinear system robust optimization mainly focuses on the features of design parameters, such as probability density functions, boundary conditions, etc. After parameters study, high-dimensional curve or robust control design is used to find an accurate robust solution. However, there may exist complex interaction between parameters and practical engineering system. With the increase of the number of parameters, it is getting hard to determine high-dimensional curves and robust control methods, thus it's difficult to get the robust design solutions. In this paper, a method of global sensitivity analysis based on divided variables in groups is proposed. By making relevant variables in one group and keeping each other independent among sets of variables, global sensitivity analysis is conducted in grouped variables and the importance of parameters is evaluated by calculating the contribution value of each parameter to the total variance of system response. By ranking the importance of input parameters, relatively important parameters are chosen to conduct robust design analysis of the system. By applying this method to the robust optimization design of a real complex nonlinear system-a vehicle occupant restraint system with multi-parameter, good solution is gained and the response variance of the objective function is reduced to 0.01, which indicates that the robustness of the occupant restraint system is improved in a great degree and the method is effective and valuable for the robust design of complex nonlinear system. This research proposes a new method which can be used to obtain solutions for complex nonlinear system robust design.

文摘A novel method for robust collaborative design of complex products based on dual-response surface (DRS-RCO) is proposed to solve multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) problems under uncertainty. Collaborative optimization (CO) which decomposes the whole system into a double-level nonlinear optimization problem is widely accepted as an efficient method to solve MDO problems. In order to improve the quality of complex product in design process, robust collaborative optimization (RCO) is developed to solve those problems under uncertain conditions. RCO does optimization on the linear sum of mean and standard deviation of objective function and gets an optimal solution with high robustness. Response surfaces method is an important way to do approximation in robust design. DRS-RCO is an improved RCO method in which dual-response surface replaces system uncertainty analysis module of CO. The dual-response surface is the approximate model of mean and standard deviation of objective function respectively. In DRS-RCO, All the information of subsystems is included in dual-response surfaces. As an additional item, the standard deviation of objective function is added to the subsystem optimization. This item guarantee both the mean and standard deviation of this subsystem is reaching the minima at the same time. Finally, a test problem with two coupled subsystems is conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of DRS-RCO.
文摘This paper presents a Fuzzy Preference Function-based Robust Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(FPF-RMDO) methodology. This method is an effective approach to multidisciplinary systems, which can be used to designer experiences during the design optimization process by fuzzy preference functions. In this study, two optimizations are done for Predator MQ-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV):(A) deterministic optimization and(B) robust optimization. In both problems, minimization of takeoff weight and drag is considered as objective functions, which have been optimized using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA). In the robust design optimization, cruise altitude and velocity are considered as uncertainties that are modeled by the Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS) method. Aerodynamics, stability and control, mass properties, performance, and center of gravity are used for multidisciplinary analysis. Robust design optimization results show 46% and 42% robustness improvement for takeoff weight and cruise drag relative to optimal design respectively.

The method constructs optimization model of subsystem level and system level tocoordinate the coupling among subsystems, and also the response surface based on the artificialneural network is introduced to provide information for system level optimization tool to maintainthe independence of subsystems, i.e. to realize multidisciplinary parallel design. The applicationcase of electrical packaging demonstrates that reasonable robust optimum solution can be yielded andit is a potential and efficient multi-disciplinary robust optimization approach.

文摘The design optimization taking into account the impact of uncertainties favors improving the robustness of the design.A Surrogate-Assisted Gradient-Based(SAGB)method for the robust aerodynamic design optimization of turbomachinery blades considering large-scale uncertainty is introduced,verified and validated in the study.The gradient-based method is employed due to its high optimization efficiency and any one surrogate model with sufficient response accuracy can be employed to quantify the nonlinear performance changes.The gradients of objective performance function to the design parameters are calculated first for all the training samples,from which the gradients of cost function can be fast determined.To reveal the high efficiency and high accuracy of SAGB on gradient calculation,the number of flow computations needed is evaluated and compared with three other methods.Through the aerodynamic design optimization of a transonic turbine cascade minimizing total pressure loss at the outlet,the SAGB-based gradients of the base and optimized blades are compared with those obtained by the Monte Carlo-assisted finite difference method.Moreover,the results of both the robust and deterministic aerodynamic design optimizations are presented and compared to demonstrate the practicability of SAGB on improving the aerodynamic robustness of turbomachinery blades.

文摘Blade fouling has been proved to be a great threat to compressor performance in operating stage. The current researches on fouling-induced performance degradations of centrifugal compressors are based mainly on simplified roughness models without taking into account the realistic factors such as spatial non-uniformity and randomness of the fouling-induced surface roughness. Moreover, little attention has been paid to the robust design optimization of centrifugal compressor impellers with considerations of blade fouling. In this paper, a multi-objective robust design optimization method is developed for centrifugal impellers under surface roughness uncertainties due to blade fouling. A three-dimensional surface roughness map is proposed to describe the nonuniformity and randomness of realistic fouling accumulations on blades. To lower computational cost in robust design optimization, the support vector regression(SVR) metamodel is combined with the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS) method to conduct the uncertainty analysis of fouled impeller performance. The analyzed results show that the critical fouled region associated with impeller performance degradations lies at the leading edge of blade tip. The SVR metamodel has been proved to be an efficient and accurate means in the detection of impeller performance variations caused by roughness uncertainties. After design optimization, the robust optimal design is found to be more efficient and less sensitive to fouling uncertainties while maintaining good impeller performance in the clean condition. This research proposes a systematic design optimization method for centrifugal compressors with considerations of blade fouling, providing a practical guidance to the design of advanced centrifugal compressors.

文摘To accommodate wind power as safely as possible and deal with the uncertainties of the output power of winddriven generators,a min-max-min two-stage robust optimization model is presented,considering the unit commitment,source-network load collaboration,and control of the load demand response.After the constraint functions are linearized,the original problem is decomposed into the main problem and subproblem as a matrix using the strong dual method.The minimum-maximum of the original problem was continuously maximized using the iterative method,and the optimal solution was finally obtained.The constraint conditions expressed by the matrix may reduce the calculation time,and the upper and lower boundaries of the original problem may rapidly converge.The results of the example show that the injected nodes of the wind farms in the power grid should be selected appropriately;otherwise,it is easy to cause excessive accommodation of wind power at some nodes,leading to a surge in reserve costs and the load demand response is continuously optimized to reduce the inverse peak regulation characteristics of wind power.Thus,the most economical optimization scheme for the worst scenario of the output power of the generators is obtained,which proves the economy and reliability of the two-stage robust optimization method.

文摘The design of Human Occupied Vehicle (HOV) is a typical multidisciplinary problem, but heavily dependent on the experience of naval architects at present engineering design. In order to relieve the experience dependence and improve the design, a new Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) method "Bi-Level Integrated System Collaborative Optimization (BLISCO)" is applied to the conceptual design of an HOV, which consists of hull module, resistance module, energy module, structure module, weight module, and the stability module. This design problem is defined by 21 design variables and 23 constraints, and its objective is to maximize the ratio of payload to weight. The results show that the general performance of the HOV can be greatly improved by BLISCO.

文摘Regular coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic prevention and control have raised new require-ments that necessitate operation-strategy innovation in urban rail transit.To alleviate increasingly seri-ous congestion and further reduce the risk of cross-infection,a novel two-stage distributionally robust optimization(DRO)model is explicitly constructed,in which the probability distribution of stochastic scenarios is only partially known in advance.In the proposed model,the mean-conditional value-at-risk(CVaR)criterion is employed to obtain a tradeoff between the expected number of waiting passen-gers and the risk of congestion on an urban rail transit line.The relationship between the proposed DRO model and the traditional two-stage stochastic programming(SP)model is also depicted.Furthermore,to overcome the obstacle of model solvability resulting from imprecise probability distributions,a discrepancy-based ambiguity set is used to transform the robust counterpart into its computationally tractable form.A hybrid algorithm that combines a local search algorithm with a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)solver is developed to improve the computational efficiency of large-scale instances.Finally,a series of numerical examples with real-world operation data are executed to validate the pro-posed approaches.
