On the basis of a novel adaptability-involved problem statement, bi-level programming (BLP) and variable planning step techniques are introduced to model the necessary path planning components and then an adaptive path planner is developed for the purpose of adaptation and optimization. Additionally, both probabilistic-risk-based obstacle avoidance and performance limits are described as path search constraints to guarantee path safety and navigability. A discrete-search-based path planning solution, embedded with four optimization strategies, is especially designed for the planner to efficiently generate optimal flight paths in complex operational spaces, within which different surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) are deployed. Simulation results in challenging and stochastic scenarios firstly demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed planner, and then verify its great adaptability and relative stability when planning optimal paths for a UAV with changing or fluctuating performances.展开更多

For the application of the method, the two-level problem is reformulated using the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions. The resulting model is linearized taking advantage of the structure of the leading problem. Using a Lagrange relaxation algorithm, it is possible to find a global solution efficiently. Graphene is such a kind of materials with the highest strength and the thinnest thickness. In this paper, the mechanical response of the bi-modulus beam subjected to the temperature effect and placed on the Winkler foundation is studied. The differential equations about the neutral axis position and undetermined parameters of the normal strain of the bi-modulus foundation beam are established. Then, the analytical expressions of the normal stress, bending moment, and displacement of the foundation beam are derived. Simultaneously, a calculation procedure based on the finite element method (FEM) is developed to obtain the temperature stress of the bi-modulus struc- tures. It is shown that the obtained bi-modulus solutions can recover the classical modulus solution, and the results obtained by the analytical expressions, the present FEM proce- dure, and the traditional FEM software are consistent, which verifies the accuracy and reliability of the present analytical model and procedure. Finally, the difference between the bi-modulus results and the classical same modulus results is discussed, and several reasonable suggestions for calculating and optimizing the certain bi-modulus member in practical engineering are presented.展开更多

A suitable filter can overcome the checkerboard and mesh-dependency. And the historical information on accurate elemental sensitivity numbers are used to keep the objective function converging steadily. Apart from rational intervals of the relevant important parameters, the concept of distinguishing between active and non-active elements design is proposed, which can be widely used for improving the function and artistry of structures directly, especially for a one whose accurate size is not given. Furthermore, user-friendly software packages are developed to enhance its accessibility for practicing engineers and architects. And to reduce the time cost for large timeconsuming complex structure optimization, parallel computing is built-in in the MATLAB codes. The program is easy to use for engineers who may not be familiar with either FEA or structure optimization. And developers can make a deep research on the algorithm by changing the MATLAB codes. Several classical examples are given to show that the improved BESO method is superior for its handy and utility computer program software.展开更多
