Considering student obesity problem, this study investigated Chilean teachers’behavioral intentions to include two anti-obesity health messages into their classroom teaching activities, which belonged to the“Choose to Live Healthy”campaign.Using the traditional model of the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB;Ajzen,1985),three research questions were answered:(a)Which of the two messages from the“Choose to Live Healthy”Campaign are known by Chilean schools’teachers?(b)According to the level of knowledge of each message declared by teachers, how do the TPB model and its subcomponents explain teachers’intentions variability to include an anti-obesity message based on the campaign studied in their teaching activities?and(c)Based on the knowledge declared by teachers of the campaign messages,do the TPB model’s subcomponents explain the variability on teachers’intentions to include the anti-obesity content of the campaign message in their teaching activities by types of schools?A total of 245 Chilean teachers were surveyed across three different types of schools. Results from regression analysis confirmed that five of the TPB subcomponents made a fundamental contribution to examine the variability of the theoretical framework upon teachers’behavioral intentions, with the exemption of perceived behavioral control autonomy. This study confirmed the great relevance and effectiveness of the TPB model to contribute to the interpretation of behavioral intentions variability across different types of contexts.Implications for health campaigns are mentioned. 展开更多

As a cultural concept refl ecting the relationship between humans and forests, forest culture plays an active role in sustainable forest management.Forest parks provide a wide range of ecosystem services essential for the sustainable development of society, and the relationships between forest culture, green construction and management of forest parks have practical signifi cance. This study aimed to understand the interaction and process of forest culture infl uencing green construction and management in forest parks with the models Knowledge-Attitude-Practice(KAP)and Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)by proposing a theoretical model.Four hypotheses were tested using data collected from 193 forest park employees in Heilongjiang Province,China. Our results show that forest culture had a signifi cant infl uence on green construction and forest management. In addition, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control directly impacted behavior in green construction and management of the forest park, whereas attitude did not have an impact.Subjective norm had a direct eff ect on attitude. Results between constructs show that forest culture had an indirect eff ect on planning and construction, and on ecological and economic management.Consequently,it supported three of four hypotheses within the proposed model in determining the infl uence of forest culture on green construction and management. 展开更多

This study aims to the factors influencing consumer intention to purchase eco-friendly,small-packaged agricultural products using the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB).With increasing demand for sustainable consumption,eco-friendly food packaging has become a critical focus within the circular economy. This study was conducted in Seoul,South Korea,a key marketplace for consumer trends, and surveyed 200 respondents to examine key TPB components—attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control—along with additional factors shaping sustainable purchasing behavior. The findings indicate that perceived behavioral control is the predictor of purchase intention(β=0.510,p<0.001),followed by attitude(β=0.236,p<0.05)and subjective norms(β=0.199,p<0.05).Moreover,the results suggest that while social influences play a role, individuals who perceive fewer barriers and have a stronger personal attitude toward sustainability are more likely to adopt eco-friendly purchasing behaviors. These results highlight the importance of consumer autonomy and confidence in making eco-friendly choices, suggesting that increasing accessibility and affordability of sustainable packaging can drive adoption.Despite social influences, urban consumers prioritize personal values and perceived control over purchasing behavior. The study might contribute to sustainability literature by offering insights into eco-conscious consumer behavior and implications for marketing strategies that promote sustainable agricultural products.Future research should explore cross-cultural comparisons and additional psychological determinants to enhance the understanding of sustainable consumption patterns. 展开更多

Objectives:To explore the factors affecting breastfeeding behaviors in women after cesarean section. Methods:This is a qualitative study that used a phenomenological approach. This study used individual face-to-face interviews with 19 women who underwent a cesarean section in a Women and Children’s Hospital in China between July to September 2019.Information saturationwas used to determine sample size.Data were analyzed using a thematic content analysis method.Themes were developed based on the theory of planned behavior.Results:Thirteen(68.42%)had a planned cesarean section, and six(31.58%)cesarean sections were unplanned or emergent.Three major themes emerged:ambivalent attitude about breastfeeding, motivation to comply with the traditional cultural norms, and barriers and challenges. The motivating factors for breastfeeding after cesarean sections included perceived benefits of human milk, support from healthcare professionals, and responsibility for breastfeeding. The challenges for breastfeeding after cesarean sections included physical discomfort, knowledge and skills deficit of breastfeeding, lactation deficiency, and lack of knowledge and coping skills in managing their depressive mood after cesarean sections. There were a couple of neutral factors, such as the influences of family and peers. These factors could influence women either positively as facilitators or negatively as barriers. Conclusions:The findings can offer valuable information for healthcare professionals to help women breastfeed after cesarean sections. To promote women’s breastfeeding behaviors after cesarean sections,it is necessary to change women’s attitudes, belief systems, and the external environments and help them become more confident. 展开更多

Based on the theory of planned behavior( TPB),Taking 399 livestock and poultry farms and households in Shandong Province as samples, risk cognitive variables were introduced. Besides, with the aid of the structural equation model( SEM) and partial least squares method( PLS),through an empirical analysis on antibiotic prophylactic behavior of livestock and poultry breeding farms and households in the context of " antibiotic free" production, the response mechanism of " antibiotic free" production was explored. Results indicated that the use of antibiotic prophylaxis by livestock and poultry farms and households is still very common. In the observation samples,61. 4% clearly expressed they would use antibiotic prophylaxis; the understanding of hazard of improper antibiotic prophylaxis was inadequate, only 32. 3% breeding households believed that the overuse of antibiotic prophylaxis is the main reason leading to excessive drug residue in animal products. This study was in line with the process of deduction of TPB. The breeding households' reduction of antibiotic prophylaxis is influenced by their intentions, while the intention is influenced by the attitude, subjective norms and perceptual behavior control; different risks have different influences, but most risks have greater influence on perceptual behavior control, because the perceptual behavior control determines whether breeding households have the ability of implementing the corresponding behavior. 展开更多

In this study, we explore HH compliance rate and the factors associated with its increase during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: HH compliance was assessed amongst doctors in Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care Unit by direct observation between 2018 and 2021. An anonymous survey was then sent to the doctors to understand factors influencing the observed improvement in HH compliance during the pandemic. Results: Compliance towards the five moments of HH has shown a statistically significant rising trend from a median HH compliance of 60% in 2018, to 70% in 2019 to 94% in 2020. However, HH compliance subsequently declined in the first quarter of 2021 to median of 87%. The follow-up survey had a response rate of 96% (n = 53). 90% of survey participants responded that their HH frequency had increased during the COVID-19 pandemic with 47% stating they were performing HH 11 - 20 times/day. 64% responded that this increased frequency had affected their skin condition. 62% responded that this increased frequency was sustainable even after the pandemic ends. Participants ranked considerations influencing HH compliance. “Prevent transmitting the infection to vulnerable patients” was ranked highest followed by “High infection rate”, “Fear of contracting COVID-19” and lastly, “Public health guidelines”. Conclusions: Despite the absence of new campaigns, HH compliance reached an all-time high. The pandemic has provided opportunity for behavioral change through “reflective” drivers of behavior such as emotions (“Fear”) and knowledge (“High infection rate”). Understanding the motivations behind current increased HH compliance and riding on the increased initial uptake of behavior may help convert HH into a habitual action and not just a reaction to the pandemic. 展开更多
