The surface of sequence boundary is a negative record. Its recognition largely depends on the physics of the sediments below and above the boundaries, or on the different sedimentary structures are synthetic marks for the sedimentation and tectonic movements in the sedimentary basin. The Qiangtang Basin that is in 5000m above the sea level is located in Northern Tibet. The Lazhulung—Jinshajiang suture zone now bound it to the north and the Bangong—Nujiang suture zone to the south. Three second\|order tectonic units have been distinguished, i.e. North Qiangtang depression, Central rise and South Qiangtang depression from north to south. The Upper Permian Riejuichaka Formation is built up of mudstone and mud\|limestone, which is represented by sediments in seamarsh. The Lower Triassic Kuanglu Formation, which exhibits the structure unconformable contact with the overlying Upper Permian strata, is characterized by terrigenous clastic rocks in the lower area and is carbonate rocks in the upwarding area and the Middle Triassic Kuangnan Formation. The Upper Triassic Xiachaka Formation consisting of terrigenous clastic rocks, carbonates rocks and mixed sediments, is confined to the uplift zones. The lower Jurassic volcanic rocks are deposited in continental rift. The middle and Upper Jurassic Yangshiping Group are conformable contact and assembled by the gypsum\|bearing terrigenous clastic rock formations and carbonate rock formation. The Middle Cretaceous and the Paleocene strata is built up of the terrigenous clastic rock formations. 展开更多

Endorheic basins(ENBs) are inland drainage basins allowing no outflow to oceans. These basins in the active mountain chains of the convergence zones are under the influence of compressional tectonic activity and climate condition. The Zagros Mountains of Iran is one of the youngest convergence zones in which continental-continental collision has occurred. In this paper we hypothesize the formation of ENBs among the Zagros range after the epeirogenic stage in the Late Paleogene-Early Neogene.Due to tectonic activity and Quaternary climatic conditions, the ENBs pass the transition stage to exorheic, and still, some tectonic depressions are not linked to the evolutionary process of exorheic drainage of Zagros. The geometry of the drainage network of Kul and Mond basins in Fars arch shows that 67% of their water gaps are located along the thrusts and transverse basement faults in the east and west of the Fars arch.Geometrically, the Kul and Mond basins form triangles with their sides matching with the edges of the Arabian Plate where the major inherited faults of Arabian plate controls the shape of the Zagros basin and a low strain zone along the Razak fault with lower salt tectonic activity, where the wind gaps are created. The ENBs are located in the rainshadow slopes, but the Kul and Mond basins are located in the upwind slopes of rain waves. This factor and the heavy rains of the basin lead to increase of the erosion potential, destruction of depressions, and floods and consequently, the funnel-shaped gaps have a significant impact on the flood flow. 展开更多

During the Late Mesozoic Middle Jurassic--Late Cretaceous, basin and range tectonics and associated magmatism representative of an extensional tectonic setting was widespread in southeastern China as a result of Pacific Plate subduction. Basin tectonics consists of post-orogenic (Type I) and intra-continental extensional basins (Type II). Type I basins developed in the piedmont and intraland during the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic, in which coarse-grained terrestrial clastic sediments were deposited. Type II basins formed during intra-continental crustal thinning and were characterized by the development of grabens and half-grabens. Graben basins were mainly generated during the Middle Jurassic and were associated with bimodal volcanism. Sediments in half-grabens are intercalated with rhyolitic tufts and lavas and are Early Cretaceous in age with a dominance of Late Cretaceous-Paleogene red beds. Ranges are composed of granitoids and bimodal volcanic rocks, A-type granites and dome-type metamorphic core complexes. The authors analyzed lithological, geochemical and geochronological features of the Late Mesozoic igneous rock assemblages and proposed some geodynamical constraints on forming the basin and range tectonics of South China. A comparison of the similarities and differences of basin and range tectonics between the eastern and western shores of the Pacific is made, and the geo- dynamical evolution model of the Southeast China Block during Late Mesozoic is discussed. Studied results suggest that the basin and range terrane within South China developed on a pre-Mesozoic folded belt was derived from a polyphase tectonic evolution mainly constrained by subduction of the western Pacific Plate since the Late Mesozoic, leading to formation of various magmatism in a back-arc exten- sional setting. Its geodynamic mechanism can compare with that of basin and range tectonics in the eastern shore of the Pacific. Differences of basin and range tectonics between both shores of the Pacific, such as mantle plume formation, scales of extensional and igneous rock assemblages and the age of basin and range tectonics, were caused mainly by the Yellowstone mantle plume in the eastern shore of the Pacific. 展开更多

"Continuous" tight gas reservoirs are those reservoirs which develop in widespread tight sandstones with a continuous distribution of natural gas. In this paper, we summarize the geological features of the source rocks and "'continuous" tight gas reservoirs in the Xujiahe Formation of the middle- south transition region, Sichuan Basin. The source rocks of the Xul Member and reservoir rocks of the Xu2 Member are thick (Xul Member: 40 m, Xu2 Member: 120 m) and are distributed continuously in this study area. The results of drilled wells show that the widespread sandstone reservoirs of the Xu2 Member are charged with natural gas. Therefore, the natural gas reservoirs of the Xu2 Member in the middle-south transition region are "continuous" tight gas reservoirs. The accumulation of "continuous" tight gas reservoirs is controlled by an adequate driving force of the pressure differences between source rocks and reservoirs, which is demonstrated by a "one-dimensional" physical simulation experiment. In this simulation, the natural gas of"continuous" tight gas reservoirs moves tbrward with no preferential petroleum migration pathways (PPMP), and the natural gas saturation of"continuous" tight gas reservoirs is higher than that of conventional reservoirs. 展开更多

The relationships between the tropical Indian Ocean basin (IOB)/dipole (IOD) mode of SST anomalies (SSTAs) and ENSO phase transition during the following year are examined and compared in observations for the period 1958-2008. Both partial correlation analysis and composite analysis show that both the positive (negative) phase of the lOB and IOD (independent of each other) in the tropical Indian Ocean are possible contributors to the E1 Nino (La Nifia) decay and phase transition to La Nifia (El Nifio) about one year later. However, the influence on ENSO transition induced by the IOB is stronger than that by the IOD. The SSTAs in the equatorial central-eastern Pacific in the coming year originate from subsurface temperature anomalies in the equatorial eastern Indian and western Pacific Ocean, induced by the IOB and IOD through eastward and upward propagation to meet the surface. During this process, however the contribution of the oceanic channel process between the tropical Indian and Pacific oceans is totally different for the IOB and IOD. For the IOD, the influence of the Indonesian Throughflow transport anomalies could propagate to the eastern Pacific to induce the ENSO transition. For the IOB, the impact of the oceanic channel stays and disappears in the western Pacific without propagation to the eastern Pacific. 展开更多

The evolution of shale reservoirs is mainly related to two functions:mechanical compaction controlled by ground stress and chemical compaction controlled by thermal effect.Thermal simulation experiments were conducted to simulate the chemical compaction of marine-continental transitional shale, and X-ray diffraction(XRD),CO2 adsorption,N2 adsorption and high-pressure mercury injection(MIP)were then used to characterize shale diagenesis and porosity. Moreover, simulations of mechanical compaction adhering to mathematical models were performed, and a shale compaction model was proposed considering clay content and kaolinite proportions. The advantage of this model is that the change in shale compressibility, which is caused by the transformation of clay minerals during thermal evolution, may be considered. The combination of the thermal simulation and compaction model may depict the interactions between chemical and mechanical compaction.Such interactions may then express the pore evolution of shale in actual conditions of formation.Accordingly, the obtained results demonstrated that shales having low kaolinite possess higher porosity at the same burial depth and clay mineral content, proving that other clay minerals such as illite-smectite mixed layers(I/S)and illite are conducive to the development of pores.Shales possessing a high clay mineral content have a higher porosity in shallow layers(<3500 m)and a lower porosity in deep layers(>3500 m).Both the amount and location of the increase in porosity differ at different geothermal gradients.High geothermal gradients favor the preservation of high porosity in shale at an appropriate Ro.The pore evolution of the marine-continental transitional shale is divided into five stages.Stage 2 possesses an Ro of 1.0%-1.6%and has high porosity along with a high specific surface area.Stage 3 has an Ro of 1.6%-2.0%and contains a higher porosity with a low specific surface area. Finally,Stage 4 has an Ro of 2.0%-2.9%with a low porosity and high specific surface area. 展开更多

Since the Paleozoic, the tectonic evolution of northeastern Eurasia has been primarily influenced by the Paleo-Asian Ocean and the Paleo-Pacific tectonic domains. However, the spatial and temporal frameworks,as well as the timing of the tectonic transition between these two oceanic domains, remain unclear. For addressing these issues,we present petrological, geochronological, and geochemical data for andesite and sandstone samples from the Seluohe Group along the Jilin-Yanji Suture between the Jiamusi-Khanka Block and the North China Craton. The geochemical results indicate that the andesite sample is high-Mg andesite. Its magma source was generated by the metasomatized mantle wedge influenced by fluids derived from the subducted slab in a continental island arc setting. The high-Mg andesite gives the crystallization ages of Early Triassic(249±3 Ma).The sandstone is immature greywacke with a maximum depositional age of Early Triassic(247±1 Ma),and its sediments primarily originate from concurrent magmatic rocks within a juvenile continental arc.Based on our new findings,we propose that the Seluohe Group represents an Early Triassic volcanic-sedimentary association with continental island arc characteristics associated with the southwestward subduction of the Heilongjiang Ocean. We identified a sedimentary basin intimately associated with one or more continental arcs along the northeastern edge of the North China Craton. We suggest that the southwestward subduction of the Jilin-Heilongjiang Ocean in the Early Mesozoic accounts for this continental arc setting. There is a distinct temporal gap between the closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean(ca.260 Ma)and the onset of Paleo-Pacific plate subduction(234–220 Ma),which is essentially coeval with the southwestward subduction of the Jilin-Heilongjiang Ocean between 255 Ma and 239 Ma. 展开更多

Based on core description, thin section identification,X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy,low-temperature gas adsorption and high-pressure mercury intrusion porosimetry, the shale lithofacies of Shan23 sub-member of Permian Shanxi Formation in the east margin of Ordos Basin was systematically analyzed in this study. The Shan23 sub-member has six lithofacies, namely, low TOC clay shale(C-L),low TOC siliceous shale(S-L),medium TOC siliceous shale(S-M),medium TOC hybrid shale(M-M),high TOC siliceous shale(S-H),and high TOC clay shale(C-H).Among them,S-H is the best lithofacies,S-M and M-M are the second best. The C-L and C-H lithofacies, mainly found in the upper part of Shan23 sub-member,generally developed in tide-dominated delta facies;the S-L,S-M,S-H and M-M shales occurring in the lower part of Shan23 sub-member developed in tide-dominated estuarine bay facies. The S-H,S-M and M-M shales have good pore struc-ture and largely organic matter pores and mineral interparticle pores, including interlayer pore in clay minerals, pyrite inter-crystalline pore, and mineral dissolution pore.C-L and S-L shales have mainly mineral interparticle pores and clay mineral in-terlayer pores, and a small amount of organic matter pores, showing poorer pore structure. The C-H shale has organic mi-cro-pores and a small number of interlayer fissures of clay minerals, showing good micro-pore structure, and poor meso-pore and macro-pore structure. The formation of favorable lithofacies is jointly controlled by depositional environment and diagen-esis.Shallow bay-lagoon depositional environment is conducive to the formation of type II2 kerogen which can produce a large number of organic cellular pores.Besides, the rich biogenic silica is conducive to the preservation of primary pores and en-hances the fracability of the shale reservoir. 展开更多

Nanoscale pore characteristics of the Upper Permian Longtan transitional mudrocks and their equivalent strata Wujiaping Formation marine mudrocks in and around the eastern Sichuan Basin was investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)and low-pressure N2 adsorption experiments. The results indicate that the Upper Permian mudrock is at a mature stage with total organic carbon(TOC)values ranging between 0.47%and 12.3%.The Longtan mudrocks mainly contain vitrinite, and their mineral composition is primarily clay.In contrast, the Wujiaping mudrocks are dominated by sapropelinite and solid bitumen, and their mineral compositions are mainly quartz and a notably high amount of pyrite. The FE-SEM reveals that clay mineral pores and microcracks are the common pore types in the Longtan mudrocks. The specific surface area and pore volume depend on the clay content but are negatively correlated with the TOC.The generation of nanometer pores in the Longtan mudrocks is caused by high clay mineral contents.Meanwhile, the Wujiaping mudrock mainly contains OM pores, and the pore parameters are positively correlated with the TOC.The OM pore development exhibits remarkable differences in the Longtan and Wujiaping mudrocks, which might be related to their sedimentary facies and maceral fractions.Vitrinite and inertinite appear as discrete particles in these mudrocks and cannot generate pores during thermal maturation.Sapropelinite often contains many secondary pores, and solid bitumen with large particles, usually with several pores,is not the major contributor to the pore system of the investigated mudrock. 展开更多

The characteristics of coal seam development, and the prospects of a favorable coal-forming area, were evaluated for the Liaohe Basin located in China. The Number 3 and Number 9 coal seam thickness series from 60 nearly equally spaced bores in the Eastern depression of the Liaohe Basin were examined by a rescaled range analysis. The results indicate that the Hurst exponents of the Number 3 and Number 9 coal seam thickness series are 0.69 and 0.68,respectively.This suggests the presence of persistence. As the bore spacing increases the Hurst exponent of the Number 3 series gradually decreases(H changes from 0.69 to 0.52) and shifts from persistence to randomness. The Hurst exponent of the Number 9 thickness data gradually increases(H changes from 0.68 to 0.91) and always shows the characteristic of persistence.A combination of geological characteristics and the series data allow the conclusion that it is more suitable for the Number 9 coal seam to form in the Northeastern part of the Eastern depression than the Number 3 coal seam. 展开更多

Compared to the sandstone-type uranium deposits in the Ordos Basin and the Songliao Basin, the Tamusu uranium deposit in the Bayingobi Basin formed in fault-depression transition region displays distinctive features.First, the uranium-bearing sandstones and their interlayer oxidation zone extend longitudinally no more than ten kilometers.Second, gravity flow sediments are more common in the uranium-bearing strata.Comprehensive facies analysis indicates that the Upper Member(orebearing horizon)of the Bayingobi Formation was largely deposited in fan deltas that prograded into lakes during period of relatively dry paleoclimate.Spatial distribution patterns of five facies associations along with two depositional environments(fan delta, lake)were reconstructed in this study. The results demonstrated that the depositional systems and their inner genetic facies played different roles in uranium reservoir sandstone, confining beds(isolated barrier beds)and reduction geologic bodies during uranium mineralization process. 展开更多

The shales in the 2nd Member of Shanxi formation in the east margin of the Ordos Basin were deposited in a marine-nonmarine transitional environment during the Permian.Based on the recent breakthroughs in the shale gas exploration and theoretical understandings on the shale gas of the study area, with a comparison to marine shale gas in the Sichuan Basin and marine-nonmarine transitional shale gas in the U.S.,this study presents the geological characteristics and development potential of marine-nonmarine transitional gas in the study area.Four geological features are identified in the 2nd Member of the Shanxi Formation in the study area has:(1)stable sedimentary environment is conductive to deposition of widely distributed organic shale;(2)well-developed micro-and nanoscale pore and fracture systems, providing good storage capacity;(3)high content of brittle minerals such as quartz, leading to effectively reservoir fracturing;and(4)moderate reservoir pressure and relatively high gas content, allowing efficient development of shale gas.The 2nd Member of Shanxi Formation in the east margin of Ordos Basin is rich in shale gas resource.Three favorable zones,Yulin-Linxian,Shiloubei-Daning-Jixian,and Hancheng-Huangling are developed, with a total area of 1.28×104 km2 and resources between 1.8×1012 and 2.9×1012m3,indicating a huge exploration potential.Tests of the 2nd Member of Shanxi Formation in vertical wells show that the favorable intervals have stable gas production and high reserves controlled by single well, good recoverability and fracability. This shale interval has sufficient energy, stable production capacity, and good development prospects,as evidenced by systematic well testing. The east margin of the Ordos Basin has several shale intervals in the Shanxi and Taiyuan formations, and several coal seams interbedded,so collaborative production of different types of natural gas in different intervals can be considered. The study results can provide reference for shale gas exploration and development and promote the rapid exploitation of shale gas in China. 展开更多

Studies show that the Tianshan orogenic belt was built in the late stage of the Paleozoic, as evidenced by the Permian red molasses and foreland basins, which are distributed in parallel with the Tianshan belt, indicating that an intense folding and uplifting event took place. During the Triassic, this orogenic belt was strongly eroded, and basins were further developed. Starting from the Jurassic, a within-plate regional extension occurred, forming a series of Jurassic-Paleogene extensional basins in the peneplaned Tianshan region. Since the Neogene, a collision event between the Indian and the Eurasian plates that took place on the southern side of the Tianshan belt has caused a strong intra-continental orogeny, which is characterized by thrusting and folding. Extremely thick coarse conglomerate and sandy conglomerate of the Xiyu Formation of Neogene System were accumulated unconformably on the Tianshan piedmont. Studies have revealed that the strong compression caused by the Indian-Eurasian collision had a profound influence over the orogenic belt in the hinterland, and MesozoiC-Cenozoic brittle deformed structures superposed on the ductile deformed Paleozoic rocks. The Mesozoic extensional basins were converted into Cenozoic compressional basins. The deformation in the basins is featured by step thrusts and fault-related folds. Statistics of joints show that the principal compressive stress since the Neogene is in a N-S direction. Meanwhile, owing to the underthrusting of the basin toward the orogenic belt, the Paleozoic strata were thrust on the Meso-Cenozoic rocks as tectonic slices, revealing distinct kinematic features in different geologic units. The basin-range coupling zones are characterized by intensive compression, folding and thrusting, accompanied by local sub-E-W-trending strike-slip faults. In the Tianshan region, Cenozoic thrusting is the most common basin-range coupling mode. The folding and faulting of Mesozoic sedimentary rocks, spontaneous combustion of Jurassic coal layers and formation of sintered rocks, the Cenozoic earthquakes and active faulting, and the unique mosaic pattern of basin-range framework of Xinjiang are all products of tectonism since the Neogene. 展开更多

The organic-rich shale of the Shanxi and Taiyuan Formation of the Lower Permian deposited in a marinecontinental transitional environment are well developed in the Ordos Basin,NW China, which is considered to contain a large amount of shale hydrocarbon resources. This study takes the Lower Permian Shanxi and Taiyuan shale collected from well SL~# in the Ordos Basin,NW China as an example to characterize the transitional shale reservoir.Based on organic geochemistry data,X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis,field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)observations,the desorbed gas contents of this transitional shale were systematically studied and the shale gas potential was investigated. The results indicate that the Lower Permian Shanxi and Taiyuan shale has a relatively high total organic carbon(TOC)(average TOC of 4.9%)and contains type III kerogen with a high mature to over mature status.XRD analyses show that an important characteristic of the shale is that clay and brittle minerals of detrital origin comprise the major mineral composition of the marine-continental transitional shale samples, while the percentages of carbonate minerals, pyrite and siderite are relatively small.FE-SEM observations reveal that the mineral matrix pores are the most abundant in the Lower Permian shale samples, while organic matter(OM)pores are rarely developed.Experimental analysis suggests that the mineral compositions mainly govern the macropore development in the marine-continental transitional shale, and mineral matrix pores and microfractures are considered to provide space for gas storage and migration. In addition, the desorption experiments demonstrated that the marine-continental transitional shale in the Ordos Basin has a significantly potential for shale gas exploration, ranging from 0.53 to 2.86 m^3/t with an average value of 1.25m^3/t,which is in close proximity to those of terrestrial shale(1.29 m^3/t)and marine shale(1.28 m^3/t).In summary, these results demonstrated that the Lower Permian marine-continental transitional shale in the Ordos Basin has a significantly potential for shale gas exploration. 展开更多

In real systems, the unpredictable jump changes of the random environment can induce the critical transitions(CTs)between two non-adjacent states, which are more catastrophic.Taking an asymmetric Lévy-noise-induced tri-stable model with desirable,sub-desirable,and undesirable states as a prototype class of real systems,a prediction of the noise-induced CTs from the desirable state directly to the undesirable one is carried out.We first calculate the region that the current state of the given model is absorbed into the undesirable state based on the escape probability, which is named as the absorbed region. Then,a new concept of the parameter dependent basin of the unsafe regime(PDBUR)under the asymmetric Lévy noise is introduced. It is an efficient tool for approximately quantifying the ranges of the parameters, where the noise-induced CTs from the desirable state directly to the undesirable one may occur.More importantly,it may provide theoretical guidance for us to adopt some measures to avert a noise-induced catastrophic CT. 展开更多

Based on analysis of newly collected 3D seismic and drilled well data, the geological structure and fault system of Baodao sag have been systematically examined to figure out characteristics of the transition fault terrace belt and its control on the formation of natural gas reservoirs. The research results show that the Baodao sag has the northern fault terrace belt, central depression belt and southern slope belt developed, among them, the northern fault terrace belt consists of multiple transition fault terrace belts such as Baodao B,A and C from west to east which control the source rocks, traps, reservoirs, oil and gas migration and hydrocarbon enrichment in the Baodao sag.The activity of the main fault of the transition belt in the sedimentary period of Yacheng Formation in the Early Oligocene controlled the hydrocarbon generation kitchen and hydrocarbon generation potential. From west to east, getting closer to the provenance, the transition belt increased in activity strength, thickness of source rock and scale of delta, and had multiple hydrocarbon generation depressions developed. The main fault had local compression under the background of tension and torsion, giving rise to composite traps under the background of large nose structure, and the Baodao A and Baodao C traps to the east are larger than Baodao B trap.Multiple fault terraces controlled the material source input from the uplift area to form large delta sand bodies, and the synthetic transition belt of the west and middle sections and the gentle slope of the east section of the F12 fault in the Baodao A transition belt controlled the input of two major material sources, giving rise to a number of delta lobes in the west and east branches. The large structural ridge formed under the control of the main fault close to the hydrocarbon generation center allows efficient migration and accumulation of oil and gas.The combination mode and active time of the main faults matched well with the natural gas charging period, resulting in the hydrocarbon gas enrichment.Baodao A transition belt is adjacent to Baodao 27,25 and 21 lows, where large braided river delta deposits supplied by Shenhu uplift provenance develop, and it is characterized by large structural ridges allowing high efficient hydrocarbon accumulation, parallel combination of main faults and early cessation of faulting activity,so it is a favorable area for hydrocarbon gas accumulation.Thick high-quality gas reservoirs have been revealed through drilling, leading to the discovery of the first large-scale gas field in Baodo 21-1 of Baodao sag. This discovery also confirms that the north transition zone of Songnan-Baodao sag has good reservoir forming conditions, and the transition fault terrace belt has great exploration potential eastward. 展开更多

In this work, the Permian Longtan marine-continental transitional shale in the southeast of Sichuan Basin was taken as study object.Through petrology and geochemical analysis, lithofacies types of the marine-continental transitional shale were classified, key controlling factors of physical properties and gas content of the different shale lithofacies were analyzed. The research results show that the Longtan Formation marine-continental transitional shale in the study area has four types of lithofacies,namely,organic-lean calcareous shale,organic-lean mixed shale,organic-lean argillaceous shale, and organic-rich argillaceous shale, among which the organic-rich argillaceous shale is the most favorable lithofacies of the study area. The pore types of different lithofacies vary significantly and the clay mineral-related pore is the dominant type of the pore system in the study area. The main controlling factor of the physical properties is clay mineral content, and the most important factor affecting gas content is TOC content.Compared with marine shale, the marine-continental transitional shale has low average values, wide distribution range, and strong heterogeneity in TOC content, porosity, and pore structure parameters, but still contains some favorable layers with high physical properties and gas contents. The organic-rich clay shale deposited in tidal flat-lagoon system is most likely to form shale gas sweet spots,so it should be paid more attention in shale gas exploration. 展开更多

Air temperature(AT) is a subsystem of a complex climate.Long-range correlation(LRC) is an important feature of complexity. Our research attempt to evaluate AT’s complexity differences in different land-use types in the Heihe River Basin(HRB) based on the stability and LRC.The results show the following:(1) AT’s stability presents differences in different land-use types. In agricultural land, there is no obvious variation in the trend throughout the year.Whereas in a desert, the variation in the trend is obvious: the AT is more stable in summer than it is in winter, with Ta ranges of [8,20]°C and SD of the AT residual ranges of [0.2,0.7],respectively.Additionally,in mountainous areas, when the altitude is beyond a certain value,AT’s stability changes.(2) AT’s LRC presents differences in different land-use types. In agricultural land, the long-range correlation of AT is the most persistent throughout the year, showing the smallest difference between summer and winter, with the Hs range of [0.8,1].Vegetation could be an important factor. In a desert, the long-range correlation of AT is less persistent, showing the greatest difference between summer and winter, with the Hs range of [0.54,0.96].Solar insolation could be a dominant factor. In an alpine meadow, the long-range correlation of AT is the least persistent throughout the year, presenting a smaller difference between summer and winter, with the Hs range of [0.6,0.85].Altitude could be an important factor.(3) Usually,LRC is a combination of the Ta and SD of the AT residuals.A larger Ta and smaller SD of the AT residual would be conducive to a more persistent LRC,whereas a smaller Ta and larger SD of the AT residual would limit the persistence of LRC.A larger Ta and SD of the AT residual would create persistence to a degree between those of the first two cases,as would a smaller Ta and SD of the AT residual. In addition, the last two cases might show the same LRC. 展开更多

Continent-continent collision is the most important driving mechanism for the occurrence of various geological processes in the continental lithosphere. How to recognize and determine continent-continent collision, especially its four-dimensional temporal-spatial evolution, is a subject that geological communities have long been concerned about and studied. Continent-continent collision is mainly manifested by strong underthrusting (subduction) of the underlying block along an intracontinental subduction zone and continuous obduction (thrusting propagation) of the overlying block along the intracontinental subduction zone, the occurrence of a basin-range tectonic framework in a direction perpendicular to the subduction zone and the flexure and disruption of the Moho. On the basis of numerical modeling, the authors discuss in detail the couplings between various amounts and rates of displacement caused by basin subsidence, mountain uplift and Moho updoming and downflexure during obduction (thrusting propagation) and subduction and the migration pattern of basin centers. They are probably indications or criteria for judgment or determination of continent-continent collision. 展开更多
