The effect of pH, temperature and contact time on adsorption behavior was investigated in batch experiments, which indicated that the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) removal ratio of drilling wastewater was approximately 90%, and the COD of treated wastewater was below 70 mg/L under appropriate operating conditions. A mixed liquor of NaOH and NaCI was selected as desorbent because of its better elution performance. The results of column dynamic adsorption and regeneration showed that the COD of wastewater could be efficiently removed by D301R resin, and the resin was easily regenerated by the selected desorbent.展开更多
Periodontal disease is a chronic infectious disease,which is common and frequent disease in pregnant women.It is an infectious disease caused by a variety of microorganisms,and the physiological changes in pregnant wo...Periodontal disease is a chronic infectious disease,which is common and frequent disease in pregnant women.It is an infectious disease caused by a variety of microorganisms,and the physiological changes in pregnant women after pregnancy can promote the occurrence and development of periodontal disease.Women no less than 35 years old are at an increased risk of maternal and fetal complications in pregnancy,older pregnant women with periodontal disease are prone to preterm birth,fetal growth retardation,premature rupture of membranes,and the incidence of neonatal low birth weight is significantly higher than that in older women with healthy oral health,i.e.,these risks are increased with age.C-reactive protein(CRP)is an acute-phase protein produced by liver organs,which is produced by hepatocytes under the promotion of inflammatory factors,and serves as the most direct and sensitive marker of inflammatory response.Studies have shown that basic periodontal treatment relieve periodontal tissue inflammation in pregnant women with periodontitis,while significantly reducing their serum CRP concentration,thereby decreasing the occurrence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of basic periodontal treatment on CRP in elderly pregnant women with periodontal disease.展开更多

Constructing Lyapunov function and applying non-smooth theory to analyze discontinuous differential equations, the basic reproductive number R0 is proved, which determines whether the plant disease will be extinct or not. If R0 R0 > 1 , there exists a unique endemic equilibrium which is globally stable. The numerical simulations are provided to verify our theoretical results, which indicate that after infective individuals reach some level, strengthening treatment measures is proved to be beneficial in controlling disease transmission.展开更多

In this paper biological decolorization of triphenylmethane dye, C.I. Basic Green 4 (BG 4), by Chlorella species was investigated. The effect of operational parameters (temperature, pH, initial dye concentration and algal concentration) on decolorization efficiency was examined. Results indicated that the desired initial pH was 9. The stability and efficiency of the algae in long-term repetitive operations were also examined. Michaelis–Menten kinetics was employed to describe the apparent correlation between the decolorization rate and dye concentration. The optimal kinetic parameters, νmax (specific decolorization rate) and Km (maximum specific decolorization rate) were 4.6 mg dye g cell-1 h-1 and 151.0 mg L-1, respectively.展开更多

The results indicate that the basic reproduction number is a critical threshold for the prevalence of the disease. If the basic reproduction number is less than one, the disease free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. Otherwise, the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. Therefore, besides the basic reproduction number, a new marker for characterizing the seriousness of the disease, named as dynamical final infective size, is proposed, which differs from traditional final size because the proposed model includes the natural birth and death. Finally, optimization strategies for limited medical resources are obtained from the perspectives of basic reproduction number and dynamical final infective size, and the real-world disease management scenarios are given based on these finding.展开更多
