In treatment group, the back-shu points of five zang organs were adopted for acupuncture. Shènshū(肾俞 BL23) was perpendicularly needled 15-30 mm in depth. The rest of the selected points were inserted obliquely 15-30 mm in the direction of the spine with even method of lifting-thrusting and twisting-twirling, 10 s for each acupoint. In control group, the acupoints were approximately 1.5-2 cm away outward from the back-shu points of five zang organs(about on the middle of the two sidelines of the bladder meridian of foottaiyang) and the points from the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang were excluded. Acupoints were needled6-9 mm in depth, and deqi was not required, without any manipulation. The treatments were carried out twice a week for twenty minutes each time, a total of eight treatments were given. The clinical efficacy of acupuncture treatment for CFS was evaluated through the Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14) and the Symptom Check-List 90(SCL-90) after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 86.67% in the treatment group and 53.33% in the control group(P<0.01). In treatment group, FS-14 total scores, somatic fatigue scores, and mental fatigue scores were significantly reduced than before treatment(all P<0.01). In control group, FS-14 total scores and somatic fatigue scores were significantly reduced(both P<0.01). The improvement of FS-14 total scores, somatic fatigue scores, and mental fatigue scores in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.01, P<0.05). After treatment, SCL-90 total scores and somatization, compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, psychoticism, and other factors scores were significantly reduced in the treatment group compared with before treatment(P<0.01). In control group, the SCL-90 total scores and the scores of somatization, compulsion, hostility, and other factors after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P< 0.01). The total scores of SCL-90 and somatization, compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, psychoticism, and other factors in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P< 0.01, P< 0.05).Conclusions: Acupuncture on back-shu points of five zang can significantly improve the somatic fatigue and mental fatigue of the patients, and at the same time improve their psychological status. Significant therapeutic effect was found on CFS. Compared with the control group, the acupuncture treatment can significantly improve the patient’s somatic fatigue, mental fatigue and psychological status.展开更多

Hyaluronan interacts with various receptors in the human body, including CD44, LYVE-1, RHAMM, and TLR2, and is well-known for its analgesic effects when used in intra-articular or ultrasound-guided nerve trunk injections. Studies have shown that hyaluronidase cleaves high molecular weight HA to generate HA35, a low molecular weight fragment with enhanced tissue permeability, capable of binding to HA receptors on cell surfaces to produce broad-spectrum analgesic effects. Methods: Ten patients diagnosed with MPS were treated and assessed in this study. HA35 was administered through injection at a dosage of 100 mg daily for 15 days. Patients evaluated their MPS, overall pain levels, and treatment satisfaction using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), the Global Pain Scale (GPS), and the Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire for Medication (TSQM 1.4). Follow-up evaluations were performed three months post-treatment to assess the duration of therapeutic effects. Results: Significant improvements were observed in NPRS, GPS, and TSQM scores both during and after the treatment period (P Conclusions: HA35 provides effective and sustained relief from pain associated with MPS, demonstrating a prolonged therapeutic benefit.展开更多

Compared with the control group, the acupuncture treatment can significantly improve the patient’s somatic fatigue, mental fatigue and psychological status.

文摘Objective:To observe the effect of intradermal needle therapy on back-shu points of five zang organs in treating chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)and provide evidence for the usage of unilateral back-shu point. Methods:Patients were randomly divided into bilateral back-shu point group, unilateral back-shu point group and non-acupoint group, remove shedding cases, each group remaining 30 patients. In bilateral back-shu point group, both sides of back-shu points of five zang organs were selected. In unilateral back-shu point group, only one side was selected, left or right alternately. The location where non-acupoint group inserted by intradermal needles were outward from the back-shu points, left or right alternately.Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14)was used to evaluate the fatigue level and the scores’improvement of physical fatigue and mental fatigue revealed the therapeutic effect on body constituents and spirits of CFS patient. Results:After the 8-week intradermal needle therapy, the total effective rate was 83.33%in the bilateral back-shu point group, which was 76.67%in the unilateral back-shu point group and 50.00%in the non-acupoint group. The curative effects of the two groups whose back-shu points of five zang organs were inserted by intradermal needles were better than the non-acupoint group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in clinical efficacy between the bilateral back-shu point group and the unilateral back-shu point group(P>0.05).There were statistical differences in FS-14 questionnaires including total, physical and mental scores between before and after the treatment in both the two back-shu point groups(P<0.05).Only the scores of total and physical fatigue in decreased in non-acupoint group(P<0.05),which means it couldn’t help to alleviate mental fatigue statistically(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)The intradermal needle therapy on back-shu points of five zang organs for CFS has a satisfying clinical efficacy in curing tiredness. It can help to reduce both physical and mental fatigue for the patients.Hence,it can regulate both body constituents and spirits simultaneously.(2)Needling the unilateral acupoints can get similar clinical efficacy to the bilateral points. It reveals that we can cut cost by reducing the consumption of the amount of intradermal needles used on one side.(3)Both the groups of back-shu points get better clinical efficacy than the non-acupoint group dramatically. The reason of why the intradermal needle can treat CFS maybe that back-shu points of five zang organs can regulate the functions of five zang organs characteristically.
文摘To observe the clinical effect of treatment of acute bronchitis primarily with prickingcupping method on Back-shu points. Methods. The patients of acute bronchitis were randomly divided into 2 groups. In the observation group, there were 36 cases, who were treated with the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, primarily the pricking-cupping method on Back-shu points; while in the control group, there were 29 cases who were given the conventinal treatment of western medicine. All the 2 groups were treated for 7 days as one treating course. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.2% while that of the control group was 82,8%, so there is a significant difference between them. On the first and third days the clinical manifestations were more satisfactorily improved in the treatment group than in the control group (P 〈 0.01) and on the fifth and seventh days, the comparison showed no significant difference (P〉0.05). Conclusion: The treatment of acute bronchitis by means of the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine primarily with pricking-cupping method on Back-shu points is of marked therapeutic effect, simple manipulation, and little untoward effects, thus claiming the unique advantage.
文摘Urticaria is a common and frequently encountered disease, which is mainly manifested by extreme pruritus and lumpish eruption of the skin. Acute urticaria with a short disease course can be cured, while the chronic one with repeated attacks is a lingering disorder. In the past few years, 40 cases of urticaria were treated by cupping at the back-shu points of the five zang-organs and Geshu (BL 17). Another 20 cases in the control group were treated with Fang Feng Tong Sheng Wan (防风通圣丸Miraculous Pills of Ledebouriella) and chlorpheniramine maleate. The therapeutic effect in the treatment group was significantly superior to that in the control group. The results are reported as follows.

文摘Background:The medicinal material known as Os Draconis(Longgu)originates from fossilized remains of ancient mammals and is widely used in treating emotional and mental conditions. However, fossil resources are nonrenewable, and clinical demand is increasingly difficult to meet, leading to a proliferation of counterfeit products.During prolonged geological burial, static pressure from the surrounding strata severely compromises the microstructural integrity of osteons in Os Draconis, but Os Draconis still largely retains the structural features of mammalian bone. Methods:Using verified authentic Os Draconis samples over 10,000 years old as a baseline, this study summarizes the ultrastructural characteristics of genuine Os Draconis.Employing electron probe microanalysis and optical polarized light microscopy,we examined 28 batches of authentic Os Draconis and 31 batches of counterfeits to identify their ultrastructural differences.Key points for ultrastructural identification of Os Draconis were compiled, and a new identification approach was proposed based on these differences. Results:Authentic Os Draconis exhibited distinct ultrastructural markers:irregularly shaped osteons with traversing fissures,deformed/displaced Haversian canals, and secondary mineral infill(predominantly calcium carbonate).Counterfeits showed regular osteon arrangements, absent traversal fissures, and homogeneous hydroxyapatite composition.Lab-simulated samples lacked structural degradation features.EPMA confirmed calcium carbonate infill in fossilized Haversian canals, while elemental profiles differentiated lacunae types(void vs.mineral-packed).Conclusion:The study established ultrastructural criteria for authentic Os Draconis identification:osteon deformation, geological fissures penetrating bone units, and heterogenous mineral deposition. These features, unattainable in counterfeits or modern processed bones, provide a cost-effective,accurate identification method. This approach bridges gaps in TCM material standardization and supports quality control for clinical applications.

文摘Objective To investigate whether Tuina alleviates fibrotic symptoms in myofascial trigger points(MTrPs)by regulating transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1/Smad3 signaling pathway, thereby deactivating these points. Methods This study comprised two experimental phases. In phase 1,27 specific pathogenfree(SPF)grade female Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were randomized into three groups:control 1,model 1,and Tuina 1 groups.Model 1 and Tuina 1 groups underwent an 8-week MTrPs modeling protocol involving blunt impact and eccentric exercise. After successful modeling, rats in Tuina 1 group received manual pressing on nodules or cord-like taut bands on the medial aspect of the left hindlimb.Pain sensitivity and tissue stiffness were evaluated via pressure pain threshold(PPT)and soft tissue tension(STT).Muscle histopathology and fibrosis were observed using hematoxylin and eosin(HE)and Masson staining.Inflammatory factors in muscle were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),while immunofluorescence(IF)and Western blot(WB)were used to detect the expression levels ofα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),collagenⅢ,and TGF-β1.In phase 2,45 SPF female SD rats were randomized into five groups:control 2,model 2,Tuina 2,TGF-β1 inhibitor(TI),and Tuina+TGF-β1 agonist(Tuina+TA)groups. All groups except control 2 underwent standardized MTrPs modeling.Rats in Tuina 2 group received consistent pressing manipulation.TI group received intraperitoneal injections of oxymatrine, while Tuina+TA group received intraperitoneal injections of SRI-011381 hydrochloride followed by the same pressing protocol as Tuina 2 group.WB was used to detect the expression of collagen I,collagen III,TGF-β1,and phosphorylated-Smad3(p-Smad3)/Smad3.Results In phase 1,Tuina significantly improved PPT and STT in MTrPs of rats(P<0.01),reversed pathological damages including disorganized muscle fiber arrangement, abnormal myocyte morphology, and exacerbated fibrosis. In addition,in MTrPs of rats in model 1 group, expression levels of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-κB),interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,and fibrosis markers(α-SMA,collagen I,and collagen III)were upregulated, and all exhibited a significant downward trend after Tuina intervention(P<0.05 or P<0.01).This indicates that the therapeutic effects of Tuina are directly associated with reduced local inflammation and fibrosis in MTrPs.In phase 2,compared with model 2 group, rats in TI and Tuina 2 groups had decreased expression levels of TGF-β1 and p-Smad3/Smad3 in MTrPs,alongside reduced levels of inflammatory factors(IL-1β,IL-6,NF-κB,and TNF-α)and fibrosis markers(α-SMA,collagen I,and collagen III)(P<0.05 or P<0.01).When co-administered with TGF-β1 agonist, the therapeutic effects of Tuina were significantly attenuated, with rebounded TGF-β1 expression and p-Smad3/Smad3 in local MTrPs,and fibrosis and inflammatory responses were re-exacerbated(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion Tuina can effectively reduce inflammatory responses and fibrosis in MTrPs tissue, and its mechanism is closely related to the inhibition of the TGF-β1/Smad3 signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in Tuina-mediated regulation of MTrPs fibrosis.

文摘AIM:To construct an intelligent segmentation scheme for precise localization of central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC)leakage points, thereby enabling ophthalmologists to deliver accurate laser treatment without navigational laser equipment.METHODS:A dataset with dual labels(point-level and pixel-level)was first established based on fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)images of CSC and subsequently divided into training(102 images),validation(40 images),and test(40 images)datasets. An intelligent segmentation method was then developed, based on the You Only Look Once version 8 Pose Estimation(YOLOv8-Pose)model and segment anything model(SAM),to segment CSC leakage points.Next, the YOLOv8-Pose model was trained for 200 epochs, and the best-performing model was selected to form the optimal combination with SAM.Additionally, the classic five types of U-Net series models[i.e.,U-Net,recurrent residual U-Net(R2U-Net),attention U-Net(AttU-Net),recurrent residual attention U-Net(R2AttUNet),and nested U-Net(UNet^(++))]were initialized with three random seeds and trained for 200 epochs, resulting in a total of 15 baseline models for comparison. Finally, based on the metrics including Dice similarity coefficient(DICE),intersection over union(IoU),precision, recall, precisionrecall(PR)curve, and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve, the proposed method was compared with baseline models through quantitative and qualitative experiments for leakage point segmentation, thereby demonstrating its effectiveness.RESULTS:With the increase of training epochs, the mAP50-95,Recall,and precision of the YOLOv8-Pose model showed a significant increase and tended to stabilize, and it achieved a preliminary localization success rate of 90%(i.e.,36 images)for CSC leakage points in 40 test images.Using manually expert-annotated pixel-level labels as the ground truth, the proposed method achieved outcomes with a DICE of 57.13%,an IoU of 45.31%,a precision of 45.91%,a recall of 93.57%,an area under the PR curve(AUC-PR)of 0.78 and an area under the ROC curve(AUC-ROC)of 0.97,which enables more accurate segmentation of CSC leakage points.CONCLUSION:By combining the precise localization capability of the YOLOv8-Pose model with the robust and flexible segmentation ability of SAM,the proposed method not only demonstrates the effectiveness of the YOLOv8-Pose model in detecting keypoint coordinates of CSC leakage points from the perspective of application innovation but also establishes a novel approach for accurate segmentation of CSC leakage points through the“detect-then-segment”strategy,thereby providing a potential auxiliary means for the automatic and precise realtime localization of leakage points during traditional laser photocoagulation for CSC.

文摘Leaf turgor loss point has been recognized as an important plant physiological trait explaining a species’drought tolerance( π_(tlp)).Less is known about the variation of π_(tlp) in time and how seasonal or interannual differences in water availability are affecting π_(tlp) as a static trait.I monitored the seasonal variation of π_(tlp) during a drought year starting in early spring with juvenile leaves and assessed the interannual variation in π_(tlp) of fully matured leaves among years with diverting water availability for three temperate broad-leaved tree species. The largest seasonal changes in π_(tlp) occurred during leaf unfolding until leaves were fully developed and matured. After leaves matured,no significant changes occurred for the rest of the vegetation period.Interannual variation that could be related to water availability was only present in one of the three tree species. The results suggest that the investigated species have a rapid period of osmotic adjustment early in the growing season followed by a period of relative stability, when π_(tlp) can be considered as a static trait.
文摘Twenty-eight cases of Infantile Tourette's syndrome were treated by puncturing Back-Shu points. In 28 cases of the patients, the results showed cure in 6 cases, effect in 21 cases and failure in one case, and the total effective rate in 96.4%.
文摘Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the prolonged therapeutic effects of a 35 kDa molecular weight hyaluronan fragment (HA35) in alleviating pain associated with myofascial pain syndrome (MPS). Results: Significant improvements were observed in NPRS, GPS, and TSQM scores both during and after the treatment period (P Conclusions: HA35 provides effective and sustained relief from pain associated with MPS, demonstrating a prolonged therapeutic benefit.

文摘We explore the parity-time(PT)-symmetry breaking transition in a dimer circuit composed of two RLC resonators that are weakly coupled via an inductor. The energy behavior of this dimer circuit is reflected in the splitting or degeneracy of the systems eigenfrequencies as the gain–loss strength varies. Its dynamical properties can be described by a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. The eigenfrequency spectrum of the system is divided by two critical points into three distinct regions:the symmetric region, the oscillatory growth region, and the fully exponential growth region.Building upon previous work on implementing the exceptional point(EP)in circuit systems, our study focuses on further exploring the variation patterns of circuit eigenfrequencies near the EP under weak coupling conditions. In addition,we construct a corresponding Dirac point(DP)circuit system for comparison.By leveraging the unique physical properties near both the EP and the DP,we further propose potential practical applications.Using perturbation theory and system simulations,we demonstrate that the square-root eigenfrequency splitting near the EP significantly enhances the sensitivity to small external perturbations, compared to the linear splitting behavior near the DP.This study presents promising prospects for next-generation sensing technologies.
