The design of an automatic control system that is robust against disturbance of inlet wastewater flow rate and has short process settling times i...The Activated Sludge Process(ASP) exhibits highly nonlinear properties. The design of an automatic control system that is robust against disturbance of inlet wastewater flow rate and has short process settling times is a challenging matter. The proposed control method is an I-P modi fied controller automatic control system with state variable feedback and control canonical form simulation diagram for the process. A more stable response is achieved with this type of modern control. Settling times of 0.48 days are achieved for the concentration of microorganisms,(reference value step increase of 50 mg·L-1) and 0.01 days for the concentration of oxygen(reference value step increase of 0.1 mg·L-1). Fluctuations of concentrations of oxygen and microorganisms after an inlet disturbance of5 × 103m3·d-1are small. Changes in the reference values of oxygen and microorganisms(increases by 10%, 20% and 30%) show satisfactory response of the system in all cases. Changes in the value of inlet wastewater flow rate disturbance(increases by 10%, 25%, 50% and 100%) are stabilized by the control system in short time. Maximum percent overshoot is also taken in consideration in all cases and the largest value is 25% which is acceptable. The proposed method with I-P controller is better for disturbance rejection and process settling times compared to the same method using PI controller. This method can substitute optimal control systems in ASP.展开更多

It is found the Proportional-Proportional plus Reset (P+PR) control is more reliable than the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control. Moreover, for the P+PR control, the hydraulic response of the constant volume method of operation is better than that of the constant downstream depth method in the type of centrally controlled canal. Therefore, an appropriate flow change rate should be chosen instead of shortening the pool length to reach an acceptable drawdown rate. For the canal with a bottom width of 40 m, side slope of 3, Manning n of 0.015, bottom slope of 0.000 04, and design flow of 600 m3/s, the pool length of more than 30 km can provide acceptable drawdown rates of 0.2 m/h when a proper flow change rate is chosen.展开更多

This results in th...A large part of our daily lives is spent with audio information. Massive obstacles are frequently presented by the colossal amounts of acoustic information and the incredibly quick processing times. This results in the need for applications and methodologies that are capable of automatically analyzing these contents. These technologies can be applied in automatic contentanalysis and emergency response systems. Breaks in manual communication usually occur in emergencies leading to accidents and equipment damage. The audio signal does a good job by sending a signal underground, which warrants action from an emergency management team at the surface. This paper, therefore, seeks to design and simulate an audio signal alerting and automatic control system using Unity Pro XL to substitute manual communication of emergencies and manual control of equipment. Sound data were trained using the neural network technique of machine learning. The metrics used are Fast Fourier transform magnitude, zero crossing rate, root mean square, and percentage error. Sounds were detected with an error of approximately 17%;thus, the system can detect sounds with an accuracy of 83%. With more data training, the system can detect sounds with minimal or no error. The paper, therefore, has critical policy implications about communication, safety, and health for underground mine.展开更多

Remote data monitoring has been applied in the production of CBM wells.It is necessary to realize remote regulating and automatic control on production systems of CBM wells as soon as possible,so that production cost ...Remote data monitoring has been applied in the production of CBM wells.It is necessary to realize remote regulating and automatic control on production systems of CBM wells as soon as possible,so that production cost can be reduced effectively and fine production of CBM wells can be improved.In this paper,remote production control technologies were designed based on production behaviors of CBM wells.And then,in light of the features of automatic monitoring instruments,automatic production of CBM wells was divided into four stages(i.e.before casing pressure occurring,casing pressure building,initial gas production and gas production).Finally,an automatic control program was developed and embedded into on-site control terminals after study was carried out on automatic control logics and methods of each production stage of CBM wells.It is for the first time that gas and water production of CBM wells are automatically regulated precisely and automatic CBM production modes are adopted with the linkage control of gas and water production.Based on this production network and remote control platform system,terminal operation is controlled and feedback according to the production orders which are set and delivered remotely.In this way,CBM well production is automatically controlled over long distance.Practical operation results in the Hancheng area,Shaanxi,shows that establishment and application of this automatic control platform contribute to the improvement of fine production of CBM wells and their continuous and stable production.展开更多

Modern automated generation control(AGC)is increasingly complex,requiring precise frequency control for stability and operational accuracy.Traditional PID controller optimisation methods often struggle to handle nonli...Modern automated generation control(AGC)is increasingly complex,requiring precise frequency control for stability and operational accuracy.Traditional PID controller optimisation methods often struggle to handle nonlinearities and meet robustness requirements across diverse operational scenarios.This paper introduces an enhanced strategy using a multi-objective optimisation framework and a modified non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(SNSGA).The proposed model optimises the PID controller by minimising key performance metrics:integration time squared error(ITSE),integration time absolute error(ITAE),and rate of change of deviation(J).This approach balances convergence rate,overshoot,and oscillation dynamics effectively.A fuzzy-based method is employed to select the most suitable solution from the Pareto set.The comparative analysis demonstrates that the SNSGA-based approach offers superior tuning capabilities over traditional NSGA-Ⅱ and other advanced control methods.In a two-area thermal power system without reheat,the SNSGA significantly reduces settling times for frequency deviations:2.94s for Δf_(1) and 4.98s for Δf_(2),marking improvements of 31.6%and 13.4%over NSGA-Ⅱ,respectively.展开更多

To ensure high-precision measurements and perf...The Ocean 4A scatterometer, expected to be launched in 2024, is poised to be the world’s first spaceborne microwave scatterometer utilizing a digital beamforming system. To ensure high-precision measurements and performance sta-bility across diverse environments, stringent requirements are placed on the dynamic range of its receiving system. This paper provides a detailed exposition of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based automatic gain control (AGC) design for the spaceborne scatterometer. Implemented on an FPGA, the algo-rithm harnesses its parallel processing capabilities and high-speed performance to monitor the received echo signals in real time. Employing an adaptive AGC algorithm, the system gene-rates gain control codes applicable to the intermediate fre-quency variable attenuator, enabling rapid and stable adjust-ment of signal amplitudes from the intermediate frequency amplifier to an optimal range. By adopting a purely digital pro-cessing approach, experimental results demonstrate that the AGC algorithm exhibits several advantages, including fast con-vergence, strong flexibility, high precision, and outstanding sta-bility. This innovative design lays a solid foundation for the high-precision measurements of the Ocean 4A scatterometer, with potential implications for the future of spaceborne microwave scatterometers.展开更多

The management and maintenance of thermal instruments and automatic control systems is not only a technical issue, but also requires reasonable management measures and scientific management. In real life, problems can be found in time, and the equipment efficiency can be fully exerted, and the basic guarantee for the efficient power production of thermal power plants is provided.

文摘Modern automated generation control(AGC)is increasingly complex,requiring precise frequency control for stability and operational accuracy.Traditional PID controller optimisation methods often struggle to handle nonlinearities and meet robustness requirements across diverse operational scenarios.This paper introduces an enhanced strategy using a multi-objective optimisation framework and a modified non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(SNSGA).The proposed model optimises the PID controller by minimising key performance metrics:integration time squared error(ITSE),integration time absolute error(ITAE),and rate of change of deviation(J).This approach balances convergence rate,overshoot,and oscillation dynamics effectively.A fuzzy-based method is employed to select the most suitable solution from the Pareto set.The comparative analysis demonstrates that the SNSGA-based approach offers superior tuning capabilities over traditional NSGA-Ⅱ and other advanced control methods.In a two-area thermal power system without reheat,the SNSGA significantly reduces settling times for frequency deviations:2.94s for Δf_(1) and 4.98s for Δf_(2),marking improvements of 31.6%and 13.4%over NSGA-Ⅱ,respectively.
文摘The Ocean 4A scatterometer, expected to be launched in 2024, is poised to be the world’s first spaceborne microwave scatterometer utilizing a digital beamforming system. To ensure high-precision measurements and performance sta-bility across diverse environments, stringent requirements are placed on the dynamic range of its receiving system. This paper provides a detailed exposition of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based automatic gain control (AGC) design for the spaceborne scatterometer. Implemented on an FPGA, the algo-rithm harnesses its parallel processing capabilities and high-speed performance to monitor the received echo signals in real time. Employing an adaptive AGC algorithm, the system gene-rates gain control codes applicable to the intermediate fre-quency variable attenuator, enabling rapid and stable adjust-ment of signal amplitudes from the intermediate frequency amplifier to an optimal range. By adopting a purely digital pro-cessing approach, experimental results demonstrate that the AGC algorithm exhibits several advantages, including fast con-vergence, strong flexibility, high precision, and outstanding sta-bility. This innovative design lays a solid foundation for the high-precision measurements of the Ocean 4A scatterometer, with potential implications for the future of spaceborne microwave scatterometers.
文摘Modern control theory course is a compulsory course for automation majors.It is based on automatic control theory course and plays an important role in teaching process.In view of the problems in the teaching of modern control theory,such as abstract content and weak mathematical foundation,this paper puts forward some reform suggestions from the aspects of teaching method,mathematical foundation,and the difference and connection with the course of automatic control theory,in order to improve students’learning interest and teaching quality.Based on the analysis of the teaching status of automatic control theory in School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of Zhengzhou University of Science and Technology,combined with the reform needs of ideological and political needs,teaching methods,assessment and evaluation,this paper puts forward a multi-dimensional curriculum reform with“moral education as the center”and“case type”+“online and offline hybrid”+“ideological and political”Thinking.Some results have been obtained through practice.

文摘Based on 5G and IoT technology,this study addresses the issues of manual control dependency,poor reliability,and high labor costs in traditional ceramic kiln exhaust cover operations.An intelligent control system for kiln exhaust covers was designed in this paper.The system employs temperature measurement devices to monitor the internal temperature of the kiln in real time.A controller automatically operates the actuator to open or close the kiln exhaust cover based on temperature measurements.Additionally,the system integrates data transmission units and cloud services,enabling remote monitoring of kiln temperature and historical data storage.Experimental results demonstrate that the system effectively reduces labor costs and significantly enhances the IoT capabilities of kiln operations.
