Methods sixty female patients of simple obesity were randomly divided into two groups： an electroacupuncture group and a combined group. Each group had 30 patients treated respectively with electroacupuncture and electroacupuncture therapy combined with auricular point pressing therapy. The changes of the body mass index （BMI）, body fat percentage （F%）, and waist-hip ratio （WHR） were observed to evaluate the effect of loosing weight. Results Compared with the scores before treatment, the BMI, F%, WHR level in two groups dropped （ all P〈0.01 ） in all 60 patients. And compared with the electroacupuncture group, the combined group dropped more obviously （ P〈0.05, P〈0.01 ） . Conclusion The effects of electroacupuncture therapy and electroacupuncture combined with auricular plaster therapy on simple obesity were both remarkable, but more in the combined group, so it indicates that the combined therapy is better than single therapy.展开更多

BACKGROUND Hypertension is a critical public health problem globally.Antihypertensive drugs can create an extra burden on hypertension patients'self-regulation leading to an imbalance of blood supply and demand.Th...BACKGROUND Hypertension is a critical public health problem globally.Antihypertensive drugs can create an extra burden on hypertension patients'self-regulation leading to an imbalance of blood supply and demand.This study aimed to evaluate the effect of auricular plaster therapy combined with western medicine to treat primary hypertension in older people.AIM To carry out a systematic review and meta-analysis for the effect of auricular plaster in elderly hypertension patients.METHODS Multiple databases like PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,Chinese Biomedical Literature on Disc,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wan Fang and Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database were used to search for the relevant studies and full-text articles involved in the evaluation of auricular plaster combined with western medicine and western medicine alone for primary hypertension in older people.All included articles were quality assessed and the data analysis was conducted with the Review Manager(5.4).Forest plots,sensitivity analysis and funnel plots were also performed on the included articles.RESULTS In this analysis,fourteen(14)relevant studies were included.The Meta-analysis showed a significant difference in the effective ratio(OR=3.62;95%CI,2.46 to 5.33;P<0.00001),diastolic blood pressure change(5.68 mmHg;95%CI,3.49 to 7.87;P<0.00001),systolic blood pressure change(MD=8.78 mmHg;95%CI,5.04 to 12.53;P<0.00001)and symptom score(MD=3.20;95%CI,1.23 to 5.18;P=0.001)between auricular plaster combined with western medicine group and western medicine alone group.One bias was detected as selection bias and another two in reporting bias.Sensitivity analysis fulfilled the stability of the results.CONCLUSION Our study suggested that auricular plaster combined with western medicine improved primary hypertension better than western medicine alone.Limited by the quality of included studies,further studies should be performed to confirm our findings.展开更多

Methods： One hundred and fifty migraine patients were randomly allocated to an observation group （n=90） and a control group （n=60）. The observation group were treated by acupuncture plus auricular plaster therapy based on syndrome differentiation and the control group, by oral administration of Flunarizine. The curative effects were compared between the two groups. Results： The total efficacy rate was 94.4% in the observation group and higher than in the control group （73.3%）. The recovery rate was 87.8% in the observation group and higher than in the control group （55.0%）. There were significant differences between the two groups （both P〈0.01）. The curative effect was significantly better in the observation group than in the control group. Conclusion： Clinically, acupuncture plus auricular plaster therapy based on syndrome differentiation has a good effect on migraine.展开更多

Methods: 90 patients with post-stroke depression were randomly divided into three groups according to the average grouping, which were experimental group 1, experimental group 2 and control group. There were 30 patients in each group according to the average grouping. Experimental group 1 was treated with traditional Chinese medicine pillow and ear acupoint sticking and pressing based on the traditional treatment and nursing form. Experimental group 2 was treated with the required intervention based on the conventional form of visual field ear acupoint sticking and pressing ear. The control group was only treated with the traditional and conventional nursing form. In this paper, the depression scale and stroke clinical neurological deficit scale were selected to evaluate the efficacy of the three groups before intervention and after one month of intervention. Results: there was significant difference in the scores obtained by the three groups before and after the intervention. Conclusion: the combination of traditional Chinese medicine pillow and auricular plaster can effectively reduce the depression of post-stroke patients, and its effect is much higher than that of auricular plaster alone.展开更多
