Transpiration and sap flow were measured using the heat-pulse technique. The results were then projected up to the stand level to investigate the stand’s water-use in relation to climate forcing in the desert riparian forest in an extreme arid region. This study took place from April through October 2003 and from May through October 2004. The experimental site was selected in the Populus euphratica Forest Reserve (101o10' E, 41o59' N) in Ejina county, in the lower Heihe River basin, China. The sapwood area was used as a scalar to extrapolate the stand-water consumption from the whole trees’ water consumption measured by the heat-pulse velocity recorder (HPVR). Scale transferring from a series of individual trees to a stand was done according to the existing natural variations between trees under given environmental conditions. The application of the biometric parameters available from individual tree and stand levels was proved suitable for this purpose. A significant correlation between the sapwood area and tree diameter at breast height (DBH) was found. The prediction model is well fitted by the power model. On the basis of the prediction model, the sapwood area can be cal-culated by DBH. The sap-flow density can then be used to extrapolate the stand-water use by means of a series of mathematical models.展开更多

The effect of frequency detuning as well as the intensity of the transfer beam is systematically investigated, which makes the transverse cooling adequate before the atoms leak out of the vapour-cell MOT to reduce divergence of the cold atomic beam. However, if an entire contralateral C7 nerve is used to repair two nerves, both recipient nerves show good recovery. These findings seem contradictory, as the above two methods use the same donor nerve, only the cutting method of the contralateral C7 nerve is different. To verify whether this can actually result in different repair effects, we divided rats with right total brachial plexus injury into three groups. In the entire root group, the entire contralateral C7 root was transected and transferred to the median nerve of the affected limb. In the posterior division group, only the posterior division of the contralateral C7 root was transected and transferred to the median nerve. In the entire root + posterior division group, the entire contralateral C7 root was transected but only the posterior division was transferred to the median nerve. After neurectomy, the median nerve was repaired on the affected side in the three groups. At 8, 12, and 16 weeks postoperatively, electrophysiological examination showed that maximum amplitude, latency, muscle tetanic contraction force, and muscle fiber cross-sectional area of the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle were significantly better in the entire root and entire root + posterior division groups than in the posterior division group. No significant difference was found between the entire root and entire root + posterior division groups. Counts of myelinated axons in the median nerve were greater in the entire root group than in the entire root + posterior division group, which were greater than the posterior division group. We conclude that for the same recipient nerve, harvesting of the entire contralateral C7 root achieved significantly better recovery than partial harvesting, even if only part of the entire root was used for transfer. This result indicates that the entire root should be used as a donor when transferring contralateral C7 nerve.展开更多

It is based on the interaction of a two-mode cavity field with a three-level V-type atom. In the scheme, the atom-cavity field interaction is resonant, thus the time required to complete the quantum state transfer process is greatly shortened, which is very important in view of decoherence. Moreover, the present scheme does not require one mode of the cavities to be initially prepared in one-photon state, thus it is more experimentally feasible than the previous ones.展开更多

In this method the sender Alice first applies a controlled-not operation on the particle in the unknown quantum state and an ancillary particle which she wants to send to the receiver Bob. Then she sends the ancillary particle to Bob. When Alice is informed by Bob that the ancillary particle is received, she performs a local measurement on her particle and sends Bob the outcome of the local measurement via a classical channel. Depending on the outcome Bob can restore the unknown quantum state, which Alice destroyed, on the ancillary particle successfully. As an application of this method we propose a quantum secure direct communication protocol. By introducing the decoy qubits the security of the scheme is guaranteed.展开更多

But few data are available concerning gene transfer into hematopoietic cells. In this report, we described two-marker genes (Neo R and Lac Z) co-transferred into hematopoietic cells of human and mouse by using liposome in vitro. The efficiency of gene transfer was tested by X- gal staining and observation of colony formation. The X-gal blue staining rate of transduced cells was about (13. 33±2.68)% in human and about (16. 28±2. 95) % in mouse without G418 selection. After G418 selection, the blue cell rate was (46. 06±3. 47)% in human and (43. 45±4. 1)% in mouse, which were markedly higher than those before selection, suggesting that high-efficiency gene transfer and expression could be attained in primary hematopoietic cells using this easy and harmless transduction protocol. At the same time, this protocol provided experimental data for clinicians to in- vestigate the biology of marrow reconstitution and trace the origin of relapse after autologous bone marrow transplantation for the patients with leukemia.展开更多

The scheme is based on adiabatic passage along a dark state. In the scheme, all the atoms are always in ground state, the field mode of the fiber remains in vacuum state, and the field mode of the cavities being excited can be negligible under certain conditions. Therefore, the scheme is very robust against decoherence. The successful probability of implementing the quantum state transfer increases with increasing number of atoms. Furthermore, the interaction time does not need to be accurately adjusted as long as the adiabaticity condition is fulfilled.展开更多

文摘We have established a caesium double magneto-optical trap (MOT) system for cavity-QED experiment, and demonstrated the continuous transfer of cold caesium atoms from the vapour-cell MOT with a pressure of - 1 × 10^-6 Pa to the ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) MOT with a pressure of - 8 × 10^-8 Pa via a focused continuous-wave transfer laser beam. The effect of frequency detuning as well as the intensity of the transfer beam is systematically investigated, which makes the transverse cooling adequate before the atoms leak out of the vapour-cell MOT to reduce divergence of the cold atomic beam. The typical cold atomic flux got from vapour-cell MOT is - 2 × 10^7 atoms/s. About 5 × 10^6 caesium atoms are recaptured in the UHV MOT.

文摘If a partial contralateral C7 nerve is transferred to a recipient injured nerve, results are not satisfactory. This result indicates that the entire root should be used as a donor when transferring contralateral C7 nerve.

文摘This study proposes a novel feature extraction approach for radionuclide identification to increase the precision of identification of the gamma-ray energy spectrum set.For easier utilization of the information contained in the spectra, the vectors of the gamma-ray energy spectra from Euclidean space, which are fingerprints of the different types of radionuclides, were mapped to matrices in the Banach space.Subsequently,to make the spectra in matrix form easier to apply to image-based deep learning frameworks, the matrices of the gamma-ray energy spectra were mapped to images in the RGB color space.A deep convolutional neural network(DCNN)model was constructed and trained on the ImageNet dataset. The mapped gamma-ray energy spectrum images were applied as inputs to the DCNN model, and the corresponding outputs of the convolution layers and fully connected layers were transferred as descriptors of the images to construct a new classification model for radionuclide identification. The transferred image descriptors consist of global and local features, where the activation vectors of fully connected layers are global features, and activations from convolution layers are local features.A series of comparative experiments between the transferred image descriptors, peak information, features extracted by the histogram of the oriented gradients(HOG),and scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT)using both synthetic and measured data were applied to 11 classical classifiers. The results demonstrate that although the gamma-ray energy spectrum images are completely unfamiliar to the DCNN model and have not been used in the pre-training process, the transferred image descriptors achieved good classification results. The global features have strong semantic information, which achieves an average accuracy of 92.76%and 94.86%on the synthetic dataset and measured dataset, respectively. The results of the statistical comparison of features demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the peak-searching-based method,HOG,and SIFT on the synthetic and measured datasets.

文摘An alternative scheme is proposed to transfer quantum states and prepare a quantum network in cavity QED. It is based on the interaction of a two-mode cavity field with a three-level V-type atom. In the scheme, the atom-cavity field interaction is resonant, thus the time required to complete the quantum state transfer process is greatly shortened, which is very important in view of decoherence. Moreover, the present scheme does not require one mode of the cavities to be initially prepared in one-photon state, thus it is more experimentally feasible than the previous ones.

文摘We present a scheme for transferring atomic entangled states via adiabatic passage. In the scheme, we use photons to achieve efficient quantum transmission among spatially distant atoms. The probability of the successful transferring quantum state approaches 1. Meanwhile, the scheme is robust against the effects of atomic spontaneous emission.

文摘We suggest a method for transferring an unknown quantum state. By introducing the decoy qubits the security of the scheme is guaranteed.
文摘Summary Liposomes have showed many advantages in mediating exogenous gene into many cell types in vitro and in vivo. At the same time, this protocol provided experimental data for clinicians to in- vestigate the biology of marrow reconstitution and trace the origin of relapse after autologous bone marrow transplantation for the patients with leukemia.

文摘This paper proposes a scheme for transferring an N-atom state between two distant cavities via an optical fiber. Furthermore, the interaction time does not need to be accurately adjusted as long as the adiabaticity condition is fulfilled.

文摘Considering the limitation in current manufacturing technology of commercial pin fin heat sinks,a new fabric heat sink has been designed. However,it is lack of an understanding of the heat transferring performance of this new kind of heat sink. In this study, the finite element method (FEM) was used to predict the heat transferring performance of fabric heat sink under the condition of natural convection and forced convection, and its heat transferring performance was compared with that of pin fin heat sink. The results showed that in the condition of natural convection the heat transferring performance of pin fin heat sink was better than that of fabric heat sink, and vice versa under the forced convection condition.
