Utilizing a new soil effective temperature scheme and archived satellite microwave brightness temperature data to estimate surface soil moisture in the Nagqu region, Tibetan Plateau of China 被引量:1

Since the early 2000s, many satellite passive microwave brightness temperature (BT) archives, such as the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for the Earth Observing System (AMSR-E) BTs, have become the useful resources for assessing the changes in the surface and deep soil moistures over both arid and semi-arid regions. In this study, we used a new soil effective temperature (T scheme and the archived AMSR-E BTs to estimate surface soil moisture (SM) over the Nagqu region in the central Tibetan Plateau, China. The surface and deep soil temperatures required for the calculation of regional-scale T were obtained from outputs of the Community Land Model version 4.5 (CLM4.5). In situ SM measurements at the CEOP-CAMP/Tibet (Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period Asia-Australia Monsoon Project on the Tibetan Plateau) experimental sites were used to validate the AMSR-E-based SM estimations at regional and single-site scales. Furthermore, the spatial distribution of monthly mean surface SM over the Nagqu region was obtained from 16 daytime AMSR-E BT observations in July 2004 over the Nagqu region. Results revealed that the AMSR-E-based surface SM estimations agreed well with the in situ-based surface SM measurements, with the root mean square error (RMSE) ranging from 0.042 to 0.066 m3/m3 and the coefficient of determination (R2) ranging from 0.71 to 0.92 during the nighttime and daytime. The regional surface soil water state map showed a clear spatial pattern related to the terrain. It indicated that the lower surface SM values occurred in the mountainous areas of the northern, mid-western and southeastern parts of Nagqu region, while the higher surface SM values appeared in the low elevation areas such as the Tongtian River Basin, Namco Lake and bog meadows in the central part of Nagqu region. Our analysis also showed that the new T^scheme does not require special fitting parameters or additional assumptions, which simplifies the data requirements for regional-scale applications. This scheme combined with the archived satellite passive microwave BT observations can be used to estimate the historical surface SM for hydrological process studies over the Tibetan Plateau regions. 展开更多

Urban expansion, which has affected ecosystem functioning and services at local to global scale, is projected to have aggravating impacts on landscape in the future. A detailed study on spatiotemporal patterns of Hongta District in Yuxi City over a relatively long timeframe was conducted using multi-temporal Landsat TM, ETM+ and OLI data of 1987-2017 associated with Geographic Information System techniques and landscape analysis approaches. Results showed that sealed surfaces (urban area) have expanded from 1.4% to 11.8%, with an annually increasing rate of 7.63%. Trees, farm areas and barren lands all underwent a slight reduction during this time period, whereby 23.8% of farms and 9.8% of bare lands transferred into sealed surfaces. Focusing on the urban expansion pattern, it presents a uninuclear polarizing polygon mode illustrating the urbanization sprawl over time to all directions. The greatest expansions are seen in NNE and SSE direction, mainly because of the topographic constraints. A trade-off between urbanization and sustainable development is under investigation by reclaiming barren soil at the mountain range to transfer farming areas from low altitude plains to make way for urban growth. 展开更多

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is classified into high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) and HPV (LR-HPV) according to their oncogenic potential. These viruses can be found in the cervix, vagina, vulva, anus and in the ENT sphere. HPV ENT infections can lead to benign or malignant tumors in which we could find both LR-HPV and HR-HPV genotypes. The objective of this study was to investigate the genotypes of HR-HPV and LR-HPV in archived tissue samples derived from both benign and malignant tumors of the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. One hundred and twenty formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded archived tissues of the ENT sphere from 26 benign tumors and 94 malignant tumors were included. The tissues were first deparaffinized with xylem. The extracted DNA was used to test for high-risk and low-risk HPV by Real-Time Multiplex PCR. HPV DNA was found in 57.7% (15/26) of benign tumors and 43.61% (41/94) of malignant tumors. The prevalence of HPV infection was 46.67% (56/120) in all tumors combined. The most common HPV genotypes found were HPV 11 (34.28%), HPV 6 (30%), HPV56 (14.28%) and HPV 33 (8.57%). There were 21.43% (12/56) cases of genotypes co-infections with 10 cases of double infection and 2 cases of triple infection. Both low-risk and high-risk HPV are found in ENT tumors with relatively high HPV prevalence. 展开更多

Due to recent improvements in forensic DNA testing kit sensitivity,there has been an increased demand in the criminal justice community to revisit past convictions or cold cases.Some of these cases have little biological evidence other than touch DNA in the form of archived latent fingerprint lift cards.In this study,a previously developed optimised workflow for this sample type was tested on aged fingerprints to determine if improved short tandem repeat(STR)profiles could be obtained.Two-year-old samples processed with the optimised workflow produced an average of approximately five more STR alleles per profile over the traditional method.The optimised workflow also produced detectable alleles in samples aged out to 28 years.Of the methods tested,the optimised workflow resulted in the most informative profiles from evidence samples more representative of the forensic need.This workflow is recommended for use with archived latent fingerprint samples,regardless of the archival time. 展开更多

It aims to solve the problems of data dispersion, untimely update and information redundancy in customer management of small and medium-sized enterprises. The system includes four core functional modules: historical email analysis, lead pool management, customer management and email archiving. Through email mining and web crawler technology, the system can extract potential customer information from historical emails and enrich lead data;the lead pool management module supports lead information maintenance, status tracking and conversion of high-value leads;the customer management module realizes the maintenance and dynamic tracking of customer information;the email management module provides the archiving of emails and attachments and the structured storage of basic email information. Historical Traces in the RCM Piano Score Archive: Evolution of Pedagogical Approaches Through Editions

This meta-analysis examines 45 peer-reviewed studies(1950-2023)analysing 320 piano score editions from the Royal Conservatory of Music(RCM)Archive,employing robust statistical methods to quantify pedagogical evolution.The data reveal a 42%increase in fingering density within post-2000 editions(Hedges’g=0.41,p<0.001,CI[0.28,0.54]),with Romantic works showing the highest variability(g=0.59 vs.Baroque g=0.12).Strong correlations emerged between editorial changes and pedagogical trends(r=0.67,p=0.002),particularly adopting ergonomic techniques post-1980.Performance data indicate modern editions improve advanced student outcomes by 12%(OR=1.12[1.05,1.19])but may overwhelm beginners(error rate+18%).The study establishes empirical evidence for three pedagogical epochs:technical rigor(pre-1980),transitional(1980-2000),and expressive flexibility(post-2000).These findings withstand publication bias tests(Egger’s t=1.2,p=0.24)and significantly affect curriculum design and historical performance practice. 展开更多

Cyclic-system-based optimization(CSBO)is an innovative metaheuristic algorithm(MHA)that draws inspiration from the workings of the human blood circulatory system.However,CSBO still faces challenges in solving complex optimization problems,including limited convergence speed and a propensity to get trapped in local optima.To improve the performance of CSBO further,this paper proposes improved cyclic-system-based optimization(ICSBO).First,in venous blood circulation,an adaptive parameter that changes with evolution is introduced to improve the balance between convergence and diversity in this stage and enhance the exploration of search space.Second,the simplex method strategy is incorporated into the systemic and pulmonary circulations,which improves the update formulas.A learning strategy aimed at the optimal individual,combined with a straightforward opposition-based learning approach,is employed to enhance population convergence while preserving diversity.Finally,a novel external archive utilizing a diversity supplementation mechanism is introduced to enhance population diversity,maximize the use of superior genes,and lower the risk of the population being trapped in local optima.Testing on the CEC2017 benchmark set shows that compared with the original CSBO and eight other outstanding MHAs,ICSBO demonstrates remarkable advantages in convergence speed,convergence precision,and stability. 展开更多
