The study of arc behavior is important to understand the dynamic phenomena concerning the interruption process in a variety of switching devices. This paper is devoted to investigate the influence of gassing material on blow open force and arc motion. To one double- breaker model, measuring the arc current, voltage and force acting on the moving conductor, the characteristics of the ratio of the emerging blow open force over arc power FB/(ui) could be obtained. With the help of a 2-D optical fiber measurement system, to one arc chamber model, arc motion behavior was measured, too. It is demonstrated that, with the action of gassing material, FB/(ui) will increase 2.5 times, and the arc will enter the splitter plates much easier. 展开更多

Arc motion and splitting of vacuum arc at intermediate frequency(400-800 Hz) were investigated under transverse magnetic field(TMF).The experiment was performed on cup-type TMF contacts with contact diameter of 40 mm and a contact gap of 4 mm in a single-frequency circuit.With high-speed photography we characterized the arc appearance at different arc currents from 3.3 kA-rms to 10 kA-rms at intermediate frequencies.As arc current increases from3.3 kA-rms to 10 kA-rms the arc appearance changes obviously.When current value is 3.3 kArms(current frequency 400-800 Hz),there is almost no splitting arc;when the current exceeds5 kA-rms(current frequency 400-800 Hz),the arc rotates at a speed above 20 m/s,accompanied by an observable splitting arc.The splitting arc could be observed at different frequencies and the arc-voltage had no noises when splitting occurred.The motion direction and the velocity of arc column were studied.Finally,the formation of a split arc was discussed. 展开更多

Secondary arc discharge is a complicated physical phenomenon and one of the key fundamental issues associated with ultra high voltage (UHV) half-wavelength transmission lines (HWTL). With the establishment of a physicM simulation platform for the HWTLs, experiments were carried out regarding the motion and extinction characteristics of secondary arcs. The cathode arc root and the anode arc root were found to show an obvious polarity effect while the arc column was moving in a spirM, due to their different motion mechanisms. The extinction behavior was also recorded and experiments were designed with different compensation conditions. Results show that the arcing time can be greatly reduced if there exists an electrical compensation network. The research provides fundamentals for understanding the physics involved, especially the motion and extinction mechanisms of the secondary arcs. 展开更多

Recently DC relay has been concerned as a key component in DC power distribution,management and control systems like aircraft,new energy vehicle,IT and communication industries.Ordinarily,magnetic force and contact moving speed have great influence on arc behaviours in the breaking process.This paper focuses on the numerical investigation of arc during the contact opening process in a real 400V/20 A DC relay product coupling with an inductive load circuit.A 3D air arc model based on the magneto-hydrodynamic theory was built and calculated.A method coupling different computational software was used to take the nonlinear permanent magnet and contact opening process into consideration simultaneously.Arc behaviours under different magnetic field and contact opening speed were presented and discussed carefully.It has been found that the increase of the magnetic field is beneficial to the quick build-up of arc length and voltage.Arc breaking duration becomes shorter with the increase in contact opening speed from 63.5 rad s^-1 to 94.5 rad s^-1,such reduction is less significant with an increase of opening speed from 94.5 rad s^-l to 118.5 rad s^-1. 展开更多

A 3-phase a.c. arc plasma reactor with large volume plasma has been developed for the synthesis of new carbon nano-structures. One of the main characteristics of the plasma system is related to the absence of a fixed neutral point. This gives rise to a rich and complex phenomenology related to instabilities and arc motion since the arcs are "burning" freely in the gas flow between the three electrodes. This paper is dedicated to the analysis of the behavior of such a system under typical conditions using argon and nitrogen as plasma gases. A classification of are configuration, arc commutating, arc interaction, arc motion and arc instabilities are discussed based on ultra high-speed cine camera analysis. A simple model describing the time evolution of the system is also presented and compared with the experimental measurements. The results show that an adequate control could allow the improvement of the overall system. 展开更多

This paper mainly focuses on the influence of three kinds of media: air, air-10%PA (Nylon) and air-10% POM (polyoxymethylene) on low-voltage circuit breaker arcs. A threedimensional (3-D) model of arc motioa under the effect of external magnetic field is built based on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations. By adopting the commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package based on the control-volume method, the above MHD equations are solved. For the media of air-10%PA and air-10%POM, the distributions of stationary temperature and electrical potential and the transient motion processes are compared with those of air arc. The research shows that both air-10%PA and air -10% POM can cool the arc plasma and the former is more effective. Both of them can increase the stationary voltage as well. Moreover, the presence of the two mixtures can accelerate the arc motion toward the quenching area and ensures the arc quenched in time. 展开更多

In this work, a novel direct current (DC) atmospheric pressure rotating gliding arc (RGA) plasma reactor has been developed for plasma-assisted chemical reactions. The influence of the gas composition and the gas flow rate on the arc dynamic behaviour and the formation of reactive species in the N2 and air gliding arc plasmas has been investigated by means of electrical signals, high speed photography, and optical emission spectroscopic diagnostics. Compared to conventional gliding arc reactors with knife-shaped electrodes which generally require a high flow rate (e.g., 10-20 L/min) to maintain a long arc length and reasonable plasma discharge zone, in this RGA system, a lower gas flow rate (e.g., 2 L/min) can also generate a larger effective plasma reaction zone with a longer arc length for chemical reactions. Two different motion patterns can be clearly observed in the N2 and air RGA plasmas. The time-resolved arc voltage signals show that three different arc dynamic modes, the arc restrike mode, takeover mode, and combined modes, can be clearly identified in the RGA plasmas. The occurrence of different motion and arc dynamic modes is strongly dependent on the composition of the working gas and gas flow rate. 展开更多

针对r型三通弯管多向抽芯与异形结构的成型难题,提出了一种基于模流分析与机构协同优化的模具设计方案。该方案采用一模一腔的布局方式,并在前后模仁均设置了潜伏浇口。通过运用Moldflow软件对产品的成型过程进行模流分析,精确预测塑件... 针对r型三通弯管多向抽芯与异形结构的成型难题,提出了一种基于模流分析与机构协同优化的模具设计方案。该方案采用一模一腔的布局方式,并在前后模仁均设置了潜伏浇口。通过运用Moldflow软件对产品的成型过程进行模流分析,精确预测塑件熔接痕的分布情况以及气穴的具体位置。在模具结构设计方面,针对r型三通弯管复杂的几何形状,设计了多种抽芯机构以满足不同部位的需求。在直身段两端,采用了油缸滑块抽芯机构,以确保提供稳定的抽芯力;对于弯管段,运用了油缸齿条与齿轮相结合的圆弧抽芯机构,从而实现精确的圆弧运动;而在弯管接头部位,则选用了普通滑块抽芯机构,并确保各抽芯镶件在合模过程中精准且稳定的定位。此外,为了实现高效的冷却控制,在前后模仁、直身段两端的抽芯滑块镶件以及圆弧抽芯镶件处,分别设置了冷却水路、螺旋水路和水井进行冷却。同时,采用了顶针推出方式,确保塑件能够顺利脱模。根据模流分析的结果,设计了一套良好的排气系统。最后,利用NX软件对模具的运动过程进行了仿真分析。仿真结果显示,所有机构运行平稳,从而验证了模具设计的合理性和可靠性。实践证明,该模具结构设计先进合理,运行稳定可靠,不仅能够满足r型三通弯管的生产需求,而且对于同类复杂结构塑件的模具设计具有参考价值。 展开更多

真空断路器在推动能源清洁低碳转型中发挥着重要作用,横向磁场技术作为一种磁控开断的关键手段,可以有效改善和控制真空电弧行为、减轻触头烧蚀。当前横磁触头间真空电弧与阳极之间的相互作用机制尚不明确,且实验难以全面观察到电弧与... 真空断路器在推动能源清洁低碳转型中发挥着重要作用,横向磁场技术作为一种磁控开断的关键手段,可以有效改善和控制真空电弧行为、减轻触头烧蚀。当前横磁触头间真空电弧与阳极之间的相互作用机制尚不明确,且实验难以全面观察到电弧与阳极之间的演变过程。因此,建立了一个横磁触头间弧根运动及阳极动态行为二维瞬态仿真模型,实现了对真空电弧-阳极表面的界面追踪。通过仿真分析,揭示了横向磁场作用下弧根运动与阳极区熔池热过程相互影响的规律性特征,进一步讨论了蒸发效应、触头材料特性以及热流密度变化带来的具体影响。研究发现,阳极表面温度的整体上升将加速弧根的运动,同时弧根的运动行为又会影响阳极的温度和熔化状态的分布。当输入到阳极的热流密度增加到一定水平时,虽然弧根的移动速度有所增加,但由于冷却时间不足,烧蚀程度仍会加剧。该模型的建立解析了横磁触头间电弧与阳极之间的相互作用机制,对于触头材料选择和结构设计及进一步优化真空断路器性能具有一定意义。 展开更多

针对应用于微纳米定位领域的并联柔性机构存在旋转运动难以与其他自由度实现解耦以形成独立驱动单元的问题,以由簧片梁式平行四边形机构正交组合而成的旋转运动解耦机构为基础,对其进行扩展,将簧片梁替换为圆弧梁,设计了一系列基于圆弧... 针对应用于微纳米定位领域的并联柔性机构存在旋转运动难以与其他自由度实现解耦以形成独立驱动单元的问题,以由簧片梁式平行四边形机构正交组合而成的旋转运动解耦机构为基础,对其进行扩展,将簧片梁替换为圆弧梁,设计了一系列基于圆弧梁的旋转纳米运动柔性解耦机构,并对其进行柔度建模与性能测试。首先,介绍了圆弧梁高度不同的柔性解耦机构构型,其由完全相同的上下两部分正交构成,通过充分利用圆弧梁在各自由度方向上的柔度特性,以实现对包含平动在内的多个耦合自由度的解耦。然后,基于柔度矩阵法对柔性解耦机构进行理论建模,确定各机构的尺寸参数并得到其输出柔度。最后,通过有限元分析和实验相结合的方法对柔度理论模型的准确性进行了验证,并比较了不同柔性解耦机构的解耦能力。结果表明:各柔性解耦机构柔度的有限元分析和实验结果与理论计算结果的相对误差均在10%以内,且其解耦性能与两侧圆弧梁的高度成正比关系。这类柔性解耦机构可应用于多自由度并联微纳米定位平台的柔性机构设计,具有一定实用价值。 展开更多

直流接触器灭弧室中弧根的演变对其开断性能有重要的影响。该文搭建实验平台,采用高速相机拍摄了磁场作用下金属栅片式直流接触器开断过程中的弧根转移过程,并基于磁流体动力学理论,建立空气电弧数学模型,对电弧等离子体鞘层进行假设,... 直流接触器灭弧室中弧根的演变对其开断性能有重要的影响。该文搭建实验平台,采用高速相机拍摄了磁场作用下金属栅片式直流接触器开断过程中的弧根转移过程,并基于磁流体动力学理论,建立空气电弧数学模型,对电弧等离子体鞘层进行假设,并且在计算中耦合分断回路方程。通过对温度场、电流密度、电导率和气压分布的仿真分析,得到分断过程中弧根转移产生的根本原因,在现有的仿真条件下研究分断速度、差异外施横向磁场对弧根演变规律的影响。结果表明:在一定范围内,灭弧室入口区磁场大于栅片区时,弧根转移加速,熄弧时间缩短;由于灭弧室入口两侧气流漩涡的存在,当分断速度较小时,阳极弧根运动至引弧片时会出现停滞现象,该停滞现象随着分断速度的增大而消失,并且燃弧时间缩短,仿真与实验观测结果较为一致。本文的研究对提高直流接触器分断能力,优化灭弧室结构具有一定的意义。 展开更多
