Methods of arc length control and visual image based weld detection for precision pulse TIG welding were investigated. With a particular all hardware circuit, arc voltage during peak current stage is sampled and integrated to indicate arc length, deviation of arc length and adjusting parameters are calculated and output to drive a step motor directly. According to the features of welding image grabbed with CCD camera, a special algorithm was developed to detect the central line of weld fast and accurately. Then an application system were established, whose static arc length error is ±0.1 mm with 20 A average current and 1 mm given arc length, static detection precision of weld is 0.01 mm , processing time of each image is less than 120 ms . Precision pulse TIG welding of some given thin stainless steel components with complicated curved surface was successfully realized. 展开更多

Arc length stability and droplet transition consistency are key factors for the pulse metal inert gas (MIG) welding quality. A new control strategy is proposed based on pulse current waveform adjustment to stabilize the welding process. After sufficient analysis of the droplet transition process, key current waveform parameters are refined that can affect the welding quality greatly. In order to achieve the optimal nonlinear control of parameters, the fuzzy controller is designed successfully with two inputs and three outputs in field programmable gate array ( FPGA ), which occupies fewer resources than PID controller and has higher control performance. Experimental results show that the arc length can be adjusted fast in full range of welding current, the welding process is stable, the droplet transition has good consistency, and the welding quality is perfect. 展开更多

A local pseudo arc-length method(LPALM)for solving hyperbolic conservation laws is presented in this paper.The key idea of this method comes from the original arc-length method,through which the critical points are bypassed by transforming the computational space.The method is based on local changes of physical variables to choose the discontinuous stencil and introduce the pseudo arc-length parameter,and then transform the governing equations from physical space to arc-length space.In order to solve these equations in arc-length coordinate,it is necessary to combine the velocity of mesh points in the moving mesh method,and then convert the physical variable in arclength space back to physical space.Numerical examples have proved the effectiveness and generality of the new approach for linear equation,nonlinear equation and system of equations with discontinuous initial values.Non-oscillation solution can be obtained by adjusting the parameter and the mesh refinement number for problems containing both shock and rarefaction waves. 展开更多

The beam is fixed at one end, and can slide freely over a hinge support at the other end. The inverse problem is to determine the value of the load when the deflection of the action point of the load is given. Based on the elasitca equations and the elliptic integrals, a set of nonlinear equations for the inverse problem are derived, and an analytical solution by means of iterations and Quasi-Newton method is presented. From the results, the relationship between the loads and deflections of the loading point is obtained. 展开更多

Arc-length-type and energy-type methods are two main strategies used in structural nonlinear tracing analysis, but the former is widely used due to the explicitness and clarity in conception, as well as the convenience and reliability in calculation. It is very important to trace the complete load-deflection path in order to know comprehensively the characteristics of structures subjected to loads. Unfortunately, the nonlinear analysis techniques are only workable for tracing the limit-point-type equilibrium path. For the bifurcation-point-type path, most of them cannot secure a satisfactory result. In this paper, main arc-length-type methods are reviewed and compared, and the possible reasons of failures in tracing analysis are briefly discussed. Some improvements are proposed, a displacement perturbation method and a force perturbation method are presented for tracing the bifurcation-point-type paths. Finally, two examples are analyzed to verify the ideas, and some conclusions are drawn with respect to the arc-length-type methods. 展开更多

Based on the conventional arc-length method, an improved arc-length method with high-efficiency is proposed. The weighted modifications with respect to the variation of structural stiffness and extra-interpolation modification by using the information of known equilibrium points are introduced to improve the incremental arc-length. An approximate expansion method for the accumulated and expected arc-length is used to ensure the convergence at given load levels in large range of applications. Numerical results show that the improved arc-length method has well adaptability and higher efficiency in the post-buckling analysis of plates and shells structures for tracing whole load-deflection path and obtaining the convergence values at any specified load levels. 展开更多

We consider the motion of a massive point-like projectile thrown with initial velocity with respect to horizontal in a two-dimensional vertical plane under the influence of gravity in a viscose media. Two different velocity-dependent resistive media models are considered—linear and quadratic. With an objective to utilizing a Computer Algebra System (CAS), specifically <em>Mathematica</em> [1] numerically we solve the corresponding equations of motions. For a set of compatible parameters characterizing viscose forces graphically we display comparing the trajectories explicitly showing the impact of the models. Utilizing the model-dependent trajectory equations numerically we evaluate their associated arc-lengths. What distinguishes our approach vs. the existing body of work is the notion of the “reverse engineering”. Meaning, utilizing our numeric data we establish their corresponding analytic counter parts. Ultimately, utilizing both outputs numerically and analytically we determine the matching initial projectile angles maximizing their respective arc-lengths. 展开更多

在独立驱动型多臂机中,每片综框的精准升降控制均由单独的电机驱动一组连杆机构实现,然而,多片综框的多电机配置导致各综框的曲柄摇杆机构杆件长度不一致,这给综框的开口运动及开口量的调节带来了设计挑战。针对这些问题,文章基于开口... 在独立驱动型多臂机中,每片综框的精准升降控制均由单独的电机驱动一组连杆机构实现,然而,多片综框的多电机配置导致各综框的曲柄摇杆机构杆件长度不一致,这给综框的开口运动及开口量的调节带来了设计挑战。针对这些问题,文章基于开口工艺要求分析提综臂调节弧以及曲柄摇杆机构的设计需求,提出了一种多综框可共用同一提综刀片的杆件设计方法。此外,还建立了综框关键位置的曲柄转角数学模型,探讨了不同机架长度对综框2次开口运动的曲柄转角影响。研究结果表明:必定存在一个能使综框2次开口运动的曲柄转角满足要求的最小机架长度d_(min),当机构选取的机架长度d≥d_(min)时,机构能够满足开口工艺要求。同时,通过拟合得到的提综臂调节弧最大误差摆角为0.1003°,平均误差摆角为0.0319°。该研究为独立驱动型多臂机的设计提供了重要的理论基础和技术支持。 展开更多

A simple method to extract glacier length based on Digital Elevation Model and glacier boundaries for simple basin type glacier 被引量:3

Glacier length is a key morphological element that has many glaciological applications; however, it is often difficult to determine, especially for glaciers that cover larger spatial areas or those that exhibit frequent temporal change. In this paper, we describe a new Arc GIS-based method that can derive glacier flow lines for determining glacier length based on digital elevation model and glacier outlines. This method involves(1) extraction of the highest and lowest points on a glacier,(2) calculation of 10-m contour lines on the glacier from 10 m to 100 m height, and(3) connection of the midpoints of each contour line with the highest and the lowest points in order to create a flow line, which is subsequently smoothed. In order to assess the reliability of this method, we tested the algorithm's results against flow lines calculated using field measurements, analysing data from the Chinese Glacier Inventory, and manual interpretation. These data showed that the new automated method is effective in deriving glacier flow lines when contour lines are relatively large; in particular, when they are between 70 m and 100 m. Nonetheless, a key limitation of the algorithm is the requirement to automatically delete repeated and closed curves in the pre-treatment processes. In addition to calculating glacier flow lines for derivation of glacier length, this method also can be used to effectively determine glacier terminus change. 展开更多

The characteristics of a nitrogen arc using a graphite cathode and a melting anode in a pilot-scale plasma furnace are investigated. The voltage is examined as a function of current and apparent plasma length. The voltage increases non-linearly with the increase of apparent plasma length, with the current fixed. The experimental data so obtained are compared with the predictions of the Bowman model for the electric arc, and with numerical simulations as well. The level of agreement between the experimental data at the melting anode and the numerical predictions confirms the suitability of the proposed the Bowman model. These characteristics are relevant to the engineering design and evaluation of a DC plasma furnace and reactor for the treatment of hazardous fly ash waste. 展开更多

GIS中隔离开关在开合短母线时,触头间瞬态击穿将产生VFTO,对设备绝缘构成严重威胁。触头间击穿距离与电弧阻抗特性关联,影响VFTO的时域和频域分布特征。文中为研究GIS隔离开关触头间击穿电弧长度对VFTO波形特征的影响,在GIS隔离开关开合短母线方式1试验中,利用基于电容分压的超宽频电压测量系统准确测量了隔离开关合闸时直流侧全过程VFTO波形,然后提取了前15次预击穿所激发的VFTO波形进行时域、频域以及时频分布分析。通过分析发现,当触头间击穿电弧长度从100mm减小到30mm时,所激发的VFTO时域波形持续时间,以及波头电压突变特征时刻未有明显变化,过冲系数波动的范围变小,对最大过冲系数没有明显影响。触头间距减小时,50MHz以上高频段的特征频点随着电弧长度减小逐渐减少,最高瞬时频率从100MHz降低至70MHz。50MHz以上高频段的频率分量随着电弧长度减小,持续时间变短。当触头间距低于30mm后,20MHz以上高频部分的特征频率发生了明显偏移。通过文中的研究,为进一步优化电弧高频模型和GIS隔离开关结构设计提供了有力支撑。 展开更多

The temperature field finite element numerical simulation model of twin arc movement is established. The loading form of twin-arc with double ellipsoid heat source is discussed. The molten pool temperature field of twin-arc submerged arc welding is calculated and analyzed under different process parameters. The law of molten pool characteristics influenced by the welding speed, current and voltage of twin-arc submerged arc welding parameters is analyzed. The relation between shaping feature of molten pool and weld formation is discussed according to the ratio of width to length. The results manifested that the width to length ratio of weld pool decreases with the improvement of welding speed, which result in gene- ration of weld defects. The width to length ratio of weld pool is increased by adjusting the proportion of the current, voltage and the distance of the two arcs, which avoids the generation of weld defects. 展开更多

The Bei Dou satellite system(BDS)has progressed with the full operationalization of the secondgeneration regional system(BDS-2)and the third-generation global system(BDS-3).This technology plays a crucial role in determining Earth Rotation Parameters(ERPs).In this study,we determine the ERPs based on the observations of BDS-2,BDS-3 and BDS-2+BDS-3,with the time spanning from August18,2022,to August 18,2023.The IERS EOP 20C04 series is used as a reference to evaluate the accuracy of the ERP estimates.We analyze the impact of different numbers of reference stations,polyhedron volumes,observation arc lengths,satellite types,and satellite systems on solving ERPs using BDS-2 and BDS-3 observation data provided by the International GNSS Service(IGS)stations.When selecting a specific satellite type,it is necessary to choose an appropriate observation arc length based on different numbers of reference stations while maximizing the volume of the formed polyhedron to achieve optimal efficiency and accuracy in parameter estimation.When both the number of reference stations and observation arc length are fixed,higher precision of the ERPs can be achieved using observations from MEO than MEO+IGSO and MEO+IGSO+GEO.Moreover,when considering only IGSO and MEO satellites as options for analysis purposes,BDS-3 provides higher accuracy compared to BDS-2.In summary,when using BDS for ERP estimation and MEO satellite observations with the same observation arc length,selecting stations from reference stations with larger polyhedral volumes can significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of parameter estimation. 展开更多

To address the issue of post-rolling warpage caused by differences in material properties during the composite rolling process of steel/aluminum thin strips,stress analysis was conducted at the entrance,middle,and exit sides of the rolling deformation zone for both steel and aluminum units.The unequal characteristics of the upper and lower contact arc lengths and the micromoment phenomenon,generated by the transfer of force between adjacent units on the aluminum side,were analyzed to explain the mechanical mechanism of warpage in the composite rolling process.A formula for calculating the contact arc length in the upper and lower rolling deformation zones was derived using the relationships among the contact arc length,rolling force,roll parameters,and strip parameters.On the basis of the deformation characteristics of steel and aluminum in the rolling deformation zone,the concepts of the inlet half-rolling zone,relative sliding zone,rolling composite zone,and outlet half-rolling zone were proposed.A quantitative model for characterizing warpage during the composite rolling of steel/aluminum composite thin strips was established.These results indicate that adjusting the diameters of the upper and lower work rolls is an effective method for controlling warpage defects and that warpage plays a dominant role in steel/aluminum thin strip composite rolling.Furthermore,finite element simulations of steel/aluminum composites rolled with different upper and lower roll diameters verified the deformation mechanism and influence of roll diameter differences on warpage defects. 展开更多

基于双开槽主梁断面,通过改变断面的气动外形,让断面具有静风屈曲后继续承载能力,并分析断面三分力系数与静风屈曲后变形的关系以及静风屈曲失稳的机理。主要研究目标是,通过改变断面的开槽宽度和斜腹板角度等气动外形参数,基于CFD数值... 基于双开槽主梁断面,通过改变断面的气动外形,让断面具有静风屈曲后继续承载能力,并分析断面三分力系数与静风屈曲后变形的关系以及静风屈曲失稳的机理。主要研究目标是,通过改变断面的开槽宽度和斜腹板角度等气动外形参数,基于CFD数值模拟并利用风洞试验验证的方法计算断面的三分力系数,选出具有负斜率趋势的桥梁主梁断面;在综合考虑构几何非线性和静风荷载非线性的基础上,采用弧长法迭代计算,计算结构主梁静风失稳后完整过程的位移响应。研究结果表明:开槽宽度和斜腹板角度都可使CL和CM曲线斜率变负,一起改变这两个参数时负斜率效果更明显;初始攻角会影响最终失稳风速和结构是否存在屈曲后;三分力系数曲线斜率变负,降低了静风荷载随变形的增加速率,使桥梁静风屈曲后具有继续承载能力,这使桥梁抵抗静风荷载有了“韧性”,提高了安全储备。 展开更多
