In this paper, we introduce two techniques for the classificationof MGRS. Firstly, we generate multi-topologies from multi-relations defined in the universe. Hence, a novelapproximation space is established by leveraging the underlying topological structure. The characteristics of thenewly proposed approximation space are discussed.We introduce an algorithmfor the reduction ofmulti-relations.Secondly, a new approach for the classification ofMGRS based on neighborhood concepts is introduced. A compact common-mode filter is proposed to suppress common-mode noise for application of high-speed differential signal traces. The filter adopts one big C-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) cell in the left of...A compact common-mode filter is proposed to suppress common-mode noise for application of high-speed differential signal traces. The filter adopts one big C-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) cell in the left of ground plane and two small C-shaped DGS cells with opposite direction in the right of ground plane. Because these DGS cells have different dimensions, the filter has three adjacent equivalent resonant points, which can suppress wideband common-mode noise effectively. The left C-shaped DGS and its adjacent C-shaped DGS cell form an approximate closed structure, which can efficiently reduce the influence of the mutual capacitance. The filter provides a common-mode suppression from 3.6 GHz to 14.4 GHz over 15 dB while it has a small size of 10 minx 10 mm. The fractional bandwidth of the filter is 120%, and the differential signals still keep good signal integrity. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulated results.展开更多

Under the condition that noisy impulse response sig...Modal identification involves estimating the modal parameters, such as modal frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes, of a structural system from measured data. Under the condition that noisy impulse response signals associated with multiple input and output locations have been measured, the primary objective of this study is to apply the local or global noise removal technique for improving the modal identification based on the polyreference time domain (PTD) method. While the traditional PTD method improves modal parameter estimation by over-specifying the computational model order to absorb noise, this paper proposes an approach using the actual system order as the computational model order and rejecting much noise prior to performing modal parameter estimation algorithms. Two noise removal approaches are investigated: a "local" approach which removes noise from one signal at a time, and a "global" approach which removes the noise of multiple measured signals simultaneously. The numerical investigation in this article is based on experimental measurements from two test setups: a cantilever beam with 3 inputs and 10 outputs, and a hanged plate with 4 inputs and 32 outputs. This paper demonstrates that the proposed noise-rejection method outperforms the traditional noise-absorption PTD method in several crucial aspects.展开更多

This paper presents a 10-bit 80-MS/s successive approximation register(SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) suitable for integration in a system on a chip(SoC).By using the top-plate-sample switching scheme an...This paper presents a 10-bit 80-MS/s successive approximation register(SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) suitable for integration in a system on a chip(SoC).By using the top-plate-sample switching scheme and a split capacitive array structure,the total capacitance is dramatically reduced which leads to low power and high speed.Since the split structure makes the capacitive array highly sensitive to parasitic capacitance,a three-row layout method is applied to the layout design.To overcome the charge leakage in the nanometer process,a special input stage is proposed in the comparator.As 80 MS/s sampling rate for a 10-bit SAR ADC results in around 1 GHz logic control clock,and a tunable clock generator is implemented.The prototype was fabricated in 65 nm 1P9M (one-poly-nine-metal) GP(general purpose) CMOS technology.Measurement results show a peak signal-to-noise and distortion ratio(SINAD) of 48.3 dB and 1.6 mW total power consumption with a figure of merit(FOM) of 94.8 fJ/conversion-step.展开更多
