Radiative cooling systems(RCSs)possess the distinctive capability to dissipate heat energy via solar and thermal radiation,making them suitable for thermal regulation and energy conservation applications,essential for mitigating the energy crisis.A comprehensive review connecting the advancements in engineered radiative cooling systems(ERCSs),encompassing material and structural design as well as thermal and energy-related applications,is currently absent.Herein,this review begins with a concise summary of the essential concepts of ERCSs,followed by an introduction to engineered materials and structures,containing nature-inspired designs,chromatic materials,meta-structural configurations,and multilayered constructions.It subsequently encapsulates the primary applications,including thermal-regulating textiles and energy-saving devices.Next,it highlights the challenges of ERCSs,including maximized thermoregulatory effects,environmental adaptability,scalability and sustainability,and interdisciplinary integration.It seeks to offer direction for forthcoming fundamental research and industrial advancement of radiative cooling systems in real-world applications. 展开更多

Liver transplantation(LT)remains the optimal life-saving intervention for patients with end-stage liver disease.Despite the recent advances in LT several barriers,including organ allocation,donor-recipient matching,and patient education,persist.With the growing progress of artificial intelligence,particularly large language models(LLMs)like ChatGPT,new applications have emerged in the field of LT.Current studies demonstrating usage of ChatGPT in LT include various areas of application,from clinical settings to research and education.ChatGPT usage can benefit both healthcare professionals,by decreasing the time spent on non-clinical work,but also LT recipients by providing accurate information.Future potential applications include the expanding usage of ChatGPT and other LLMs in the field of LT pathology and radiology as well as the automated creation of discharge summaries or other related paperwork.Additionally,the next models of ChatGPT might have the potential to provide more accurate patient education material with increased readability.Although ChatGPT usage presents promising applications,there are certain ethical and practical limitations.Key concerns include patient data privacy,information accuracy,misinformation possibility and lack of legal framework.Healthcare providers and policymakers should collaborate for the establishment of a controlled framework for the safe use of ChatGPT.The aim of this minireview is to summarize current literature on ChatGPT in LT,highlighting both opportunities and limitations,while also providing future possible applications. 展开更多

Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a leading cause of vision loss among working-age populations,with early screening significantly reducing the risk of blindness.However,resource-limited regions often face challenges in DR screening due to a shortage of ophthalmologists.This study reports the implementation and outcomes of the Chinese local standard DB52/T 1726-2023,Regulations for the application of diabetic retinopathy screening artificial intelligence,in Cambodian healthcare institutions.A pilot DR screening program with independent operational capability is established by providing a non-mydriatic fundus camera and deploying a localized diabetic retinopathy artificial intelligence(DR-AI)screening platform at the Cambodia-Kingdom Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh,along with comprehensive training.From January to August 2025,a total of 565 patients with type 2 diabetes were screened,yielding a DR detection rate of 26.0%(147 cases).Research findings demonstrate that applying mature Chinese DR-AI screening standards and technological solutions through international collaboration in regions with a scarcity of ophthalmic professionals is both feasible and effective.This project serves as a reference for promoting DR-AI in resource-constrained countries and regions,highlighting its significant potential to leverage AI in addressing the global burden of chronic diseases and advancing the modernization of health systems. 展开更多

This study presents a methodology to evaluate and prevent security vulnerabilities issues for web applications.The analysis process is based on the use of techniques and tools that allow to perform security assessments of white box and black box,to carry out the security validation of a web application in an agile and precise way.The objective of the methodology is to take advantage of the synergies of semi-automatic static and dynamic security analysis tools and manual checks.Each one of the phases contemplated in the methodology is supported by security analysis tools of different degrees of coverage,so that the results generated in one phase are used as feed for the following phases in order to get an optimized global security analysis result.The methodology can be used as part of other more general methodologies that do not cover how to use static and dynamic analysis tools in the implementation and testing phases of a Secure Software Development Life Cycle(SSDLC).A practical application of the methodology to analyze the security of a real web application demonstrates its effectiveness by obtaining a better optimized vulnerability detection result against the true and false positive metrics.Dynamic analysis with manual checking is used to audit the results,24.6 per cent of security vulnerabilities reported by the static analysis has been checked and it allows to study which vulnerabilities can be directly exploited externally.This phase is very important because it permits that each reported vulnerability can be checked by a dynamic second tool to confirm whether a vulnerability is true or false positive and it allows to study which vulnerabilities can be directly exploited externally.Dynamic analysis finds six(6)additional critical vulnerabilities.Access control analysis finds other five(5)important vulnerabilities such as Insufficient Protected Passwords or Weak Password Policy and Excessive Authentication Attacks,two vulnerabilities that permit brute force attacks. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Although gastroscopy is a commonly used diagnostic and therapeutic technique,postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction is prone to occur.Traditional Chinese medicine theory suggests that postoperative gastrointestinal disorders are related to spleen and stomach weakness.This study hypothesizes that the combination of acupoint application at the Ziwu Liuzhu acupoint and percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation can promote postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery and alleviate stress reactions.AIM To investigate the effects of acupoint application of Ziwu Liuzhu combined with percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation on postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery and stress response in patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy surgery.METHODS A total of 120 patients who underwent gastroscopy surgery were selected and treated between October 2024 and January 2025.This study used a stratified block randomization method,and then allocated groups using computer-generated random number sequences(SAS 9.4 software).The groups were divided into two groups:A control group of 60 patients who received routine postoperative intervention measures,and an observation group of 60 patients who received acupuncture point application combined with transcutaneous acupoint electrical CONCLUSION The combination of percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation in gastroscopy patients has been demonstrated to be both highly safe and effective.The benefits of this approach include the promotion of postoperative gastrointestinal function,the reduction of stress response,the attainment of optimal results,and the enhancement of patient satisfaction. 展开更多

As the lightest structural metal and one of the most abundant metallic elements on earth, magnesium(Mg) has been used as an "industrial metal" for lightweighting in the transportation and electronics industries, in addition to other traditional applications in aluminum alloying,steel desulfurization and protective anodes. In recent years, research has shown significant potential for Mg to become a "technology metal"in a variety of new applications from energy storage/battery to biomedical products. However, global Mg production has shown steady but moderate growth in the last three decades. Mg applications as an industry metal are still limited due to some sustainability concerns of primary Mg production, as well as a number of technical issues related to the structural and corrosion performance of commercial Mg alloys.New Mg applications as an industrial or technology metal face tremendous technical challenges, which have been reflected in the intensified global research efforts in the last twenty years. This paper will review some past and present applications, and discuss future opportunities and challenges for Mg research and applications for the global Mg community. 展开更多

The surge in demand for digital medical solutionshas been accelerated by the need for new diagnostic and therapeutic methods inthe current coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. This also applies to clinicalpractice in gastroenterology, which has, in many respects, undergone a recentdigital transformation with numerous consequences that will impact patients andhealth care professionals in the near future. MHAs and MAs are considered tohave great potential, especially for chronic diseases, as they can support the selfmanagementof patients in many ways. Despite the great potential associated withthe application of MHAs and MAs in gastroenterology and health care in general,there are numerous challenges to be met in the future, including both the ethicaland legal aspects of applying this technology. The Health Action Process Approach(HAPA),developed by German psychologist Schwarzer in the 1980s,provides a comprehensive framework for understanding and influencing health behavior change.By dividing behavior change into three dynamic stages-pre-intention,intention,and action-HAPA highlights the critical role of self-efficacy as a driving force in adopting healthier behaviors.This stage-based approach addresses the limitations of continuous health behavior models by emphasizing individual differentiation and recognizing that behavior change is not linear but progresses through distinct phases.HAPA theory has demonstrated significant potential in clinical applications,particularly in orthopedic postoperative patients.Its implementation facilitates the development of positive behavioral intentions,enhances self-efficacy,and supports sustained health action,ultimately improving patients’health outcomes and quality of life.Tailored interventions based on HAPA stages ensure that patients receive appropriate guidance and support throughout their recovery journey.Despite its successes,limitations remain.Future research should focus on expanding the application of HAPA to various orthopedic conditions and developing more targeted behavioral plans and health education programs to optimize patient rehabilitation.Additionally,further exploration is needed to sustain HAPA’s effectiveness during long-term recovery.Strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and integrating HAPA with other theoretical models could create a more comprehensive health behavior education system,providing robust support for orthopedic patients and advancing their overall recovery and well-being. 展开更多

This study aimed to optimize the application rates and base-topdressing ratios of nitrogen and potassium for flue-cured tobacco in Chaling,Zhuzhou,Hunan.The tobacco variety‘Yunyan 87’was planted and subjected to eight different treatments with different application rates and base-topdressing ratios of nitrogen and potassium.The effect of different treatments on the agronomic traits,dry matter accumulation,yield,and quality of tobacco were compared.The results showed that the growth period of each treatment became shortened as the application rates of nitrogen and potassium decreased and as the base-topdressing ratios of nitrogen and potassium increased.The dry matter accumulation decreased with the reduction in the application rates of nitrogen and potassium.The yield and output value of T1 were the highest,reaching 2097.39 kg/hm^(2)and 65018.90 yuan/hm^(2),respectively,both significantly increasing by 57.5%compared with those of the control(CK).In addition,the proportions of leaves of high and mid-high grade in T1 were also the highest,reaching 73.31%and 88.79%,respectively,both higher than those of CK.The appearance evaluation results showed that the appearance quality scores of tobacco leaves of grades B2F and C3F in T1 were the highest,reaching 51 points,both of which were 3 points higher than that those of CK.All the treatments were consistent in terms of color,maturity,leaf structure,body,oil,and color intensity.Therefore,it was suggested that the tobacco production in Chaling should appropriately increase the proportions of nitrogen and potassium as base fertilizers on the basis of conventional fertilization,which was conducive to improving the yield and appearance quality of flue-cured tobacco. 展开更多

Application value of abdominal ultrasonography in the diagnosis of pediatric patients aged 3-12 years with acute appendicitis

BACKGROUND Early detection of acute appendicitis(AA)in pediatric cases,critical to avoiding life-threatening complications such as perforation or abscess,remains challenging.AIM To evaluate the utility of abdominal ultrasonography(AUS)in diagnosing pediatric AA.METHODS Overall,102 pediatric patients(aged 3-12 years)suspected of having AA were enrolled and divided into the AA(n=78)and non-AA(n=24)groups.All children underwent AUS and computed tomography(CT).Comparative analyses regarding general patient characteristics and appendix-specific parameters were conducted.The diagnostic performance of AUS and CT in pediatric AA was evaluated.RESULTS All appendix-related parameters were greater in the AA group than in the non-AA group.The areas under the receiver-operating characteristic curves for pediatric AA diagnosis using AUS,CT,and AUS+CT were 0.870,0.824,and 0.931(all P<0.001),respectively(AUS:94.87%sensitivity,79.17%specificity;CT:89.74%sensitivity,75.00%specificity;combined:98.72%sensitivity,87.50%specificity).The positive predictive value(PPV),negative predictive value(NPV),accuracy rate,positive detection rate,and misdiagnosis rate of AUS were 93.67%,82.61%,91.18%,72.55%,and 20.83%,respectively.CT had a slightly lower PPV(92.11%)and NPV(69.23%),along with accuracy,positive detection,and misdiagnosis rates of 86.27%,68.63%,and 25%,respectively.Their combination improved performance,yielding 96.25%PPV,95.45%NPV,96.08%accuracy,75.49%positive detection rate,and 12.50%misdiagnosis rate.CONCLUSION AUS demonstrates certain diagnostic potential in AA diagnosis in pediatric patients,and its combination with CT further improves diagnostic efficacy. 展开更多
