To ameliorate the defects of insufcient support resistance of traditional roadside flling bodies for gob-side entry retaining(GER),overcome the inability to adapt to the deformation of surrounding rock,and isolate the goaf efectively,a new type of high-water material as a roadside flling body for GER technology with double roadways was proposed.The instability analysis and control technology of GER with double roadways by flling high-water material into a gently inclined coal seam were studied.The basic mechanical properties of the new high-water material were investigated through laboratory experiments,and their main advantages were identifed.The reasonable width of the roadside flling wall of a high-water material was obtained by combining ground pressure observation and theoretical calculations.The distribution characteristics of the stress and plastic zone of surrounding rock of GER after being stabilized by the disturbance of the working face were studied using numerical simulations,and the failure range of GER by flling with high-water material was revealed.Based on this,a coupling control technology of anchor cables and bolts+single props+metal mesh+anchor bolts is proposed.Through the coupling methods of arranging borehole peeping and observing the convergences of surrounding rock,the results demonstrate that GER with double roadways by flling with a 1.8-m-wide high-water material has a good control efect.The above research will play an active role in promoting the application of high-water materials in GER roadside flling. 展开更多

Aiming at the problems of low reliability and complex operation of traditional coin-tap test of composite material,this paper introduces the grey system theory and achieves better performance.The response signals of coin-tap are classified through the grey clustering based on relation analysis,and corresponding improvements are made to the calculation method of the relation degree of nearness.First,the time history of acceleration is taken as the system behavior sequence.The improved correlation calculation method is used to solve the relation degree of nearness between the sequences,and the matrix of degree of grey relation is constructed based on this.Then,the sequence groups are summarized through the matrix,and the response signals of coin-tap are qualitatively classified according to the location of the reference sequence.Finally,the defect detection of composite materials is completed without pre-testing.The test results show that the accuracy of the coin-tap test based on improved grey clustering reaches 100%,which simplifies the operation steps while ensuring the reliability of the coin-tap test results. 展开更多

To improve the impact sound insulation performance of building floors and meet the objective requirements for living comfort of residents,in this article,three kinds of elastic cushion materials,Portuguese cork board,BGL insulation sound insulation foam board,and EPP polypropylene plastic foam board,are applied to the sound insulation of a light frame wood floor structure of the same bedroom and compared to the ordinary floor.This study uses the transfer function method and transient excitation method to measure the sound insulation,damping ratio,and elastic modulus of materials,as well as the sound insulation of the floor under the jumping excitation method of daily behavior.Through comparative analysis,the results and factors of improving the sound insulation performance of the floor are obtained,according to which three types of elastic cushion materials and the floor covering composed of them have higher vibration and noise reduction performance.Among them,the overall sound insulation performance of BGL board floor is the highest,followed by EPP board and cork board floor,and ordinary OSB floor is the lowest.Under the jumping excitation method,three floating floors can improve the impact sound insulation performance of the middle and low-frequency bands. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Noninvasive biomarkers have been developed to predict hepatitis B virus(HBV)related fibrosis owing to the significant limitations of liver biopsy.Both serum biomarkers and imaging techniques have shown promising results and may improve the evaluation of liver fibrosis.However,most of the previous studies focused on the diagnostic effects of various imaging techniques on fibrosis in all chronic liver diseases.AIM To compare the performance of common imaging methods and serum biomarkers for prediction of significant fibrosis caused only by HBV infection.METHODS A systematic review was conducted on the records available in PubMed,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library electronic databases until December 2018.We systematically assessed the effectiveness of two serum biomarkers and three imagine techniques in predicting significant fibrosis solely caused by HBV infection.The serum biomarkers included aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index(APRI)and fibrosis index based on the 4 factors(FIB-4).The three imaging techniques included acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI),FibroScan,and magnetic resonance elastography(MRE).Three parameters,the area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve(AUSROC),the summary diagnostic odds ratio,and the summary sensitivity and specificity,were used to examine the accuracy of all tests for liver fibrosis.RESULTS Out of 2831 articles evaluated for eligibility,204 satisfied the predetermined inclusion criteria for this current meta-analysis.Eventually,our final data contained 81 studies.The AUSROCs of serum biomarkers of APRI and FIB-4 were both 0.75.For imaging techniques(ARFI,FibroScan,and MRE),the areas were 0.89,0.83,and 0.97,respectively.The heterogeneities of ARFI and FibroScan were statistically significant(I2>50%).The publication bias was not observed in any of the serum biomarkers or imaging methods.CONCLUSION These five methods have attained an acceptable level of diagnostic accuracy.Imaging techniques,MRE in particular,demonstrate significant advantages in accurately predicting HBV-related significant fibrosis,while serum biomarkers are admissible methods. 展开更多

In the physical model test of landslides,the selection of analogous materials is the key,and it is difficult to consider the similarity of mechanical properties and seepage performance at the same time.To develop a model material suitable for analysing the deformation and failure of reservoir landslides,based on the existing research foundation of analogous materials,5 materials and 5 physical-mechanical parameters were selected to design an orthogonal test.The factor sensitivity of each component ratio and its influence on the physical-mechanical indices were studied by range analysis and stepwise regression analysis,and the proportioning method was determined.Finally,the model material was developed,and a model test was carried out considering Huangtupo as the prototype application.The results showed that(1)the model material composed of sand,barite powder,glass beads,clay,and bentonite had a wide distribution of physical-mechanical parameters,which could be applied to model tests under different conditions;(2)the physical-mechanical parameters of analogous materials matched the application prototype;and(3)the mechanical properties and seepage performance of the model material sample met the requirements of reservoir landslide model tests,which could be used to simulate landslide evolution and analyse the deformation process. 展开更多

This paper describes some aspects of research work related to the performance of welds at elevated temperature. A twomaterial crossweld specimen has been used to investigate the interaction effects of the material properties and specimen geometry on the creep stress or strain rate distributions. A general form of the creep behaviour of multimaterial components was established, which has been shown to be an effective tool for parametric analysis of welds. Methods used for generating the material constants in the constitutive equations for different material zones of welds have been developed; these are based on the experimental results of uniaxial, crossweld and impression creep tests. To illustrate the work, the prediction of the failure life of a serviceaged, thickwalled, CrMoV pipe weldment is presented and a simplified procedure which relates the failure lives of weldments and crossweld specimens based on damage modelling is described. 展开更多

To improve the transmission accuracy and stiffness of the ball cycloid reducer, the authors developed a novel cycloid ball reducer, which uses a full complement ball as its gear teeth. Ceramic balls are used to get better performance in severe working conditions. A simple synthesis method was also found to determine the raceway forms and compute the contact forces among the balls and raceways. The Contact Stress Analysis (CSA) computer program was used to optimize the design of the reducer. In this paper, the following topics are covered: (1) Study of the geometry of the raceways. (2) Analyses of the principal curvature of the raceways are also accomplished. In addition, the modification of the raceway is put forward. (3) The contact forces and the reducer efficiency are evaluated. (4) Study of the performance of ceramic balls used in the CBR. A reducer using the above design technique was tested and the performances show that the reducer has high precision and rigidity. An increase of more than 50 percent transmission power was realized in the new gearing. 展开更多

The hot or cold processing would induce the change and the inhomogeneous of the material mechanical properties in the local processing region of the structure,and it is difficult to obtain the specific mechanical properties in these regions by using the traditional material tensile test.To accurately get actual material mechanical properties in the local region of structure,a micro-indentation test system incorporated by an electronic universal material test device has been established.An indenter displacement sensor and a group of special micro-indenter assemblies are estab-lished.A numerical indentation inversion analysis method by using ABAQUS software is also proposed in this study.Based on the above test system and analysis platform,an approach to obtaining material mechanical properties in the local region of structures is proposed and established.The ball indentation test is performed and combined with the energy method by using various changed mechanical properties of 316L austenitic stainless steel under differ-ent elongations.The investigated results indicate that the material mechanical properties and the micro-indentation morphological changes have evidently relevance.Compared with the tensile test results,the deviations of material mechanical parameters,such as hardness H,the hardening exponent n,the yield strength σy and others are within 5%obtained through the indentation test and the finite element analysis.It provides an effective and convenient method for obtaining the actual material mechanical properties in the local processing region of the structure. 展开更多

AIM:To investigate the biomechanical properties and practical application of absorbable materials in orbital fracture repair.METHODS:The three-dimensional(3D)model of orbital blowout fractures was reconstructed using Mimics21.0 software.The repair guide plate model for inferior orbital wall fracture was designed using 3-matic13.0 and Geomagic wrap 21.0 software.The finite element model of orbital blowout fracture and absorbable repair plate was established using 3-matic13.0 and ANSYS Workbench 21.0 software.The mechanical response of absorbable plates,with thicknesses of 0.6 and 1.2 mm,was modeled after their placement in the orbit.Two patients with inferior orbital wall fractures volunteered to receive single-layer and double-layer absorbable plates combined with 3D printing technology to facilitate surgical treatment of orbital wall fractures.RESULTS:The finite element models of orbital blowout fracture and absorbable plate were successfully established.Finite element analysis(FEA)showed that when the Young’s modulus of the absorbable plate decreases to 3.15 MPa,the repair material with a thickness of 0.6 mm was influenced by the gravitational forces of the orbital contents,resulting in a maximum total deformation of approximately 3.3 mm.Conversely,when the absorbable plate was 1.2 mm thick,the overall maximum total deformation was around 0.4 mm.The half-year follow-up results of the clinical cases confirmed that the absorbable plate with a thickness of 1.2 mm had smaller maximum total deformation and better clinical efficacy.CONCLUSION:The biomechanical analysis observations in this study are largely consistent with the clinical situation.The use of double-layer absorbable plates in conjunction with 3D printing technology is recommended to support surgical treatment of infraorbital wall blowout fractures. 展开更多

They can be found iteratively by one-dimension integral on a finite interval. The new algorithm is very convenient and with high accuracy. It can meet the practical engineering need excellently. However, the primitive algorithm is rather cumbersome. By the way, the very close approximate limits with a simple algorithm are derived. They can be applied immediately to engineering. In this paper, the optimization design of the low strength mechanical test and orthogonal test have been analyzed in order to simulate the mechanical properties of thick and extra-thick coal seam accurately in a similar material simulation test. The results show that the specimen can reach a wider range of strength when cement has been used compared to that of gypsum, suggesting that cement is more suitable for making coal seam in similar material simulation tests. The uniaxial compressive strength is more sensitive to cement than coal or sand. The proportion of coal and sand do not play a decisive role in uniaxial compressive strength. The uniaxial compressive strength and specimen density decrease as the mass percent of coal and aggregate–binder ratio rise. There is a positive correlation between uniaxial compressive strength and density. The No. 5 proportion(cement: sand: water: activated carbon: coal = 6:6:7:1.1:79.9)was chosen to be used in the similar material simulation test of steeply dipping and extra-thick coal seam with a density of 0.913 g/cm^3 and an uniaxial compressive strength of 0.076 MPa which are in accordance with the similarity theory. The phenomenon of overburden stratum movement, fracture development and floor pressure relief were obtained during the similar material simulation test by using the proportion. 展开更多

The possibilities of determining creep parameters for a simple Norton law material are explored from indentation creep testing. Using creep finite element analysis the creep indentation test technique is analyzed in terms of indentation rates at constant loads. Emphasis is placed on the relationships between the steady creep behavior of indentation systems and the creep property of the indented materials. The role of indenter geometry, size effects and macroscopic constraints is explicitly considered on indentation creep experiments. The influence of macroscopic constraints from the material systems becomes important when the size of the indenter is of the same order of magnitude as the size of the testing material. Two methods have been presented to assess the creep property of the indented material from the indentation experimental results on the single-phase-material and two-phase-material systems. The results contribute to a better mechanical understanding and extending the application of indentation creep testing. 展开更多
