Material and Methods: 40 adult patients with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) and 86 healthy individuals were included. The qualitative and quantitative aggressiveness assess- ment was made with Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory. The gender role behavior was measured with Bem Sex Role Inventory. Results: Patients with TLE didn’t differ from healthy subjects on the total scores of motor and attitudinal hostility components, but scored higher on subscales “resentment” and “guilt”. The comparative gender analysis showed there were no phenomenological differences in people with TLE. Assault dominated in healthy male subjects, resentment—in healthy female subjects. The prevalence of feminine social gender type was significantly higher in people with TLE in comparison to healthy people (55% vs. 26%, p 0.01). In patients with TLE, the number of masculine traits positively correlated with indirect hostility subscale and attitudinal hostility component scores. In healthy subjects, the masculine traits positively correlated with assault.展开更多

In the majority of cases, these models are not consistent with human circumstances. The present study simulated a social isolation plus resident intruder stress model in the rat. The rats were subjected to daily social isolation and resident intruder stress for 2 weeks. Behaviors were then tested. Rats subjected to social stress exhibited different aggressive behavior styles; some rats had greater scores on composite aggression behaviors, as well as locomotor and exploratory activity, but lower scores on latency than others. The high-aggressive group exhibited predominantly anger-out, while the low-aggressive group exhibited anger-in. Results suggest that social isolation plus resident intruder may serve as an appropriate model for anger-in and anger-out emotion modeling in the rat.展开更多

Eight cases of AAM are reported in this article, and the clinical features and ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results of the eight cases are reviewed and summarized. The main complaints of all the patients were palpable and painless masses in the vulva or scrotum. The lesions were mainly located in the vulva, pelvis, and perineal region, with a large scope of involvement. The sonographic features of AAM were characteristic. On sonography, all of the masses were of irregular shape and showed hypoechogenicity, with a heterogeneous inner echotexture. Intratumoural and peritumoural blood fows were detected by colour Doppler imaging. On real-time ultrasonic imaging, prominent deformation of the lesions was observed bycompressing the masses with the probe. Some special imaging features were also revealed, including a la-minated or swirled appearance of inner echogenicity, and a fnger-like or tongue-like growth pattern. On MRI imaging, the lesions showed intermediate-intensity signals and intermediate to high-intensity signals on TI-weighted and T2-weighted sequences. A rapid and uneven enhancement pattern was demonstrated. After the comparison of sonographic features with MRIand pathological findings, we found the relevance of the ultrasonographic characteristics with MRI and his-tological features of AAM. Ultrasound can be a valuable imaging method for the preoperative diagnosis, eva-luation of scope, and follow-up of AAM.展开更多

Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated to assess the association in seven literature studies with 2788 cases and 2968 controls. In the overall analysis, no significant association was found between the CYPIB1 4326C/G polymorphism and PCa risk, but ethnicity subgroup analyses and a case-source analysis revealed significant associations. The 4326G allele showed a significant association with increased PCa risk in Asians (OR= 1.52, 95% Ch 1.20-1.92), and significant associations were also observed in a heterozygote comparison (OR= 1.40, 95% Ch 1.03-1.89), a homozygote comparison (0R=2.38, 95% Ch 1.31-4.33) and in a dominant genetic model (OR = 1.52, 95% Ch 1.14-2.01). Moreover, the 4326G allele was also significantly correlated with an increased risk of sporadic PCa (OR= 1.13, 95% Ch 1.04-1.24), and significant associations were observed in a heterozygote comparison (OR= 1.16, 95% Ch 1.02-1.33), a homozygote comparison (OR= 1.24, 95% Ch 1.03-1.49) and a dominant genetic model (OR= 1.19, 95% Ch 1.05- 1.34). The overall analyses and all subgroup analyses showed no significant association between the 4326C/G polymorphism and PCa aggressiveness. Our meta-analysis showed that CYPIB1 4326G allele is significantly associated with an increased PCa risk in Asians and in sporadic PCa cases.展开更多

The aim of this report is to analyze a rare clinical case of an aggressive intra-abdominal DT successfully treated with sorafenib.CASE SUMMARY A 36-year-old man presented with increasing colicky abdominal pain and a selfpalpable mass in his left abdomen. Fourteen years earlier he was diagnosed with a large intra-abdominal tumor, which adhered to the left colonic flexure, part of the major gastric curvature and the spleen. Subsequent exploratory laparotomy revealed a voluminous mass in the epigastrium, arising from the posterior surface of the stomach and invading the superior mesenteric vessels, transverse mesocolon and the small bowel mesentery. As the tumor was unresectable, a jejunojejunal bypass was performed. Traditional therapeutic interventions proved insufficient, and the patient was started on sorafenib with a subsequent fulldisease response.CONCLUSIONDT's pathogenesis has been associated with mutations in the adenomatous polyposis coli(APC) gene or beta-catenin gene CTNNB1, sex steroids or previous surgical trauma. Local treatment modalities, such as surgery or radiotherapy, are implemented in aggressively progressing or symptomatic patients. Sorafenib is a hopeful therapeutic option against DTs, while several pharmacological agents have been successfully used.展开更多

Methods The levels of cortisol (CORT), testosterone (T), prolactin (PRL), and growth hormone (GH) in saliva from 20 aggressive students and 20 non-aggressive control students were measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA). The students were matched for their gender, age, grade, stage of pubertal development, and economic status of their families. Results The salivary T levels were 22.20±14.50 pg/mL and 19.54±12.52 pg/mL in aggressive male and female students, 13.20±6.85 pg/mL and 5.24±3.03 pg/mL in non-aggressive male and female students (P〈0.05). The male aggressive students had a lower level of CORT in saliva than non-aggressive male students (P〈0.05). There were no significant differences in the salivary levels of PRL or GH between the aggressive and non-aggressive groups. Correlation analysis revealed a negative relationship in male students between the salivary CORT levels and the aggression factor scores of the child behavior checklist (CBCL). In addition, the data also showed a positive relationship between the salivary T levels and the aggression factor scores of CBCL in female students. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the salivary CORT level was an independent predictive factor for aggressive behaviors in adolescent boys. The higher the CORT level, the less aggressive the boys were. Conclusion CORT and T levels may play a certain role in adolescent aggressive behaviors.展开更多

For this purpose, two samples of prison inmates (who were students of the prison secondary school) were collected (class A = 23, class B = 12). The network indicators for superficial, idiosyncratic and strategic behavior (particularly, aggressiveness), applied in Bekiari and Hasanagas (2016), which were based on the primary network variables (outdegree, indegree, Katz status, pagerank, authority) were used. Non-network variables were also used for the criminal profile of the inmates. The data were sampled with questionnaire. Spearman test was conducted for detecting correlation between aggressiveness and hunting and Principal Component Analysis was used for formulating a typology. The following results were produced: The criminal profile seems hardly to be related with hunting experience or attitude. The relation of hunting experience and attitude with the superficial, idiosyncratic and strategic aggressiveness was examined. These three occasions of aggressiveness are expected to describe the incidental reaction, impulsive and adaptive reaction, respectively. The hunting is quite irrelevant to the incidental reaction. The impulsiveness seems to be more strongly correlated with hunting. In case of adaptiveness, there are many similarities with impulsiveness. The typology which is based on the existence (or not) of hunting experience seems to be more insightful, as it reveals a gradual involvement of aggressiveness dimensions, from incidentality to impulsiveness and further to adaptiveness. The following behavioral patterns of gradually enhanced aggressiveness appear: incidentally just provoking, impulsively being aggressive but without harming, and adaptively being aggressive and harming.展开更多

There are only two case reports in the English language literature where intra-abdominal aggressive fibromatosis originated from the intestinal wall. In this study, we aimed to report a case of aggressive fibromatosis originating from the muscularis propria layer of the duodenum and invading pancreas. Another interesting aspect of this case is that a primary paraduodenal hydatid cyst was incidentally detected in the surgical specimen. A 46-year-old female patient presented to our clinic with postprandial nausea and vomiting. A contrast-enhanced abdominal computerized tomography revealed a mass lesion with a size of 100 mm × 80 mm which originated from the distal pancreas and compressed the gastric pilor externally. Upon exploration the distal part of duodenum, proximaljejunum, and pancreatic mass were noted to form a conglomerated structure. Therefore, the fourth part of the duodenum, a 25 cm part of the proximal jejunum, distal pancreas, and the spleen were excised enbloc. The pathology report of the specimen indicated fibromatosis with a diameter of 55 mm that originated from the muscularis propria of the duodenum and extended into the pancreatic parenchyma. There was also an incidentally detected 10 mm paraduodenal hydatid cyst. No tumor recurrence was detected at a follow-up period of 24 mo. In conclusion, the most ideal treatment of desmoid-type fibromatosis is surgical resection of the mass lesion with clean surgical borders. Although rare, this tumor may originate from the intestinal wall. Histopathological verification is of great significance for a proper diagnosis.展开更多

METHODS: A human cholangiocarcinoma-derived cell line KKU-M139, which has a naturally high level of endogenous TP, had TP expression transiently knocked down using siRNA. Cell growth, migration, in vitro angiogenesis, apoptosis, and cytotoxicity were assayed in TP knockdown and wild-type cell lines. RESULTS: TP mRNA and protein expression were decreased by 87.1% ± 0.49% and 72.5% ± 3.2%, respectively, compared with control cells. Inhibition of TP significantly decreased migration of KKU-M139, and suppressed migration and tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells. siRNA also reduced the ability of TP to resist hypoxia-induced apoptosis, while suppression of TP reduced the sensitivity of KKU-M139 to 5-fluorouracil. CONCLUSION: Inhibition of TP may be beneficial in decreasing angiogenesis-dependent growth and migration of cholangiocarcinoma but may diminish the response to 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy.展开更多

A network sample of 62 students (male = 32, female = 30) and 4 instructors (male = 2, female = 2) at the physical education and sport sciences dept. at the University of Thessaly has been collected in 2016. A standardized questionnaire consisting of network and non-network part was used. Social network analysis (algebraic analysis) combined with conventional statistics has been used. Basic results are the following ones: Persons dedicated to sport appear to target others and be targeted. Dedication to study content is proved to play a role of a refuge against criticism. High grade and ambition seem to protect against negative comments. Physical qualification (tallness) seems also to discourage rudeness. Spatial-regional discrimination is also revealed. Mockery seems to be even a cause of absence from the courses. A superiority-induced aggressiveness (on economic basis) has been detected. Threat may be regarded as a behavioral extension of mockery (or inversely). In the course of study time, more aggressive persons emerge who even threat others. High grade students are unattractive for arguing. Internet seems to develop communication stimuli. The tendency for professional distinction is connected with arguing. Younger students show an integration deficit in terms of argumentation. Communicational types (three profiles of targets: “depreciated assaulted”, “attractive”, “repellent”, and two profiles of general involvement: “lively”, “controversial”) have emerged. A typology of targets is depicting a sharper fragmentation than a typology of general involvement (targeted and acting).展开更多

文摘Intraspecific conflict induced by the innate aggressiveness is one of the main reasons for the extremely low survival rate in mud crab Scylla paramamosain aquaculture, which have impeded the sustainable culture of the species. In this study,we first classified and quantified the aggressive behavior, and established a crab aggressive behavior model, laying the foundation for subsequent research on evaluating combat intensity. The contents of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),dopamine(DA),and cAMP in the hemolymph of the mud crabs before and after fighting were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS),and the mud crabs exhibited a significant increase of 5-HT(P<0.05),while the DA and cAMP decreased significantly(P<0.05).In addition,we applied EthoVision to examine the changes of the crab behavior after DA administration. After 0.5 h of injection, the movement speed, distance, duration of aggressive behavior, and intensity of aggression in the high concentration DA group were significantly higher than those in the saline injection group and the untreated control group(P<0.05).The results of real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT PCR)analysis showed that the expression of DA 1 in the thoracic ganglia of the mud crabs was significantly down-regulated in the DA injection group, and the aggressive behavior was weakened.Conversely,DA1 expression was up-regulated when aggressive behavior was strengthened.Besides, there were significant differences in the expression levels of receptor expression genes including 5-HT1,5-HT2,and crustacean hyperglycemic hormone(CHH)in different tissues, indicating that the alteration of aggressive behavior of the mud crab after injection with different concentrations of DA could be regulated by changes in the expression levels of corresponding receptor genes. Our results contribute to a deeper analysis of the aggressive behavior mechanism of the mud crabs and provide a theoretical basis for reducing fighting-related mortalities in aquaculture.

文摘Objectives:The aim of this study was to verify the causal relationship between trait aggressiveness(TA)and moral disengagement(MD),know more about the growth trajectory of MD,and explore the effects of gender and TA on the growth trajectory. Methods:We used the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire and Moral Disengagement Scale to survey 433 Chinese junior high school students longitudinally three times. Results:The results of the random intercept cross-lagged panel model(RI-CLPM)analysis indicated that TA positively predicted MD,while MD did not predict TA at the within-person level. Thus,TA could be considered an antecedent variable of MD.Furthermore, the unconditional latent growth linear model analysis revealed that MD among junior high school students exhibited an upward trend, characterized by an increasing rate of growth over time.In the conditional latent growth linear model analysis,we found that gender influenced only the initial level of MD but had no effect on its growth rate.Conversely,TA demonstrated both delayed and immediate positive effects on the growth of MD.Conclusions:Our findings suggested a one-way cross-lag effect between TA and MD.Additionally, the growth trajectory of MD among junior high school students was found to be ascending. This growth trajectory was influenced by gender and TA,offering valuable insights for the prevention and intervention of behavioral problems in junior high school students.

文摘Objectives:Adolescents’aggression is widely studied, the underlying heterogeneity of aggression among rural Chinese boarding students remains unexplored. This study investigates the latent profiles of Chinese rural boarding junior high school students’aggression and its correlations with moral disengagement and preference for solitude. Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted from 04–22 April 2022,using a convenient sampling method among 516 junior high school students from six Chinese rural boarding schools. The survey included the Aggression Questionnaire, the Moral Disengagement Scale(MDS),and the Preference for Solitude Scale(PSS).Results:Participants were divided into three latent profiles:low(36.0%),medium(50.9%),and high aggression levels(13.1%).Compared with low aggression, students who felt left-behind(minors who stay in the rural areas while one or both parents migrated to the urban areas for the work)accounted for a larger proportion in the medium aggression profile. The higher the grade level and the lower the educational level of the students’parents, the greater proportion of students in the medium and high aggression profiles.Additionally, students with high moral disengagement and preference for solitude showed a significant association with the medium aggression and high aggression profiles. Conclusions:The results demonstrate the significant group heterogeneity of aggression groups in Chinese rural boarding junior high school students.Targeted prevention and intervention measures can be carried out according to feeling left-behind,grade level, parents’education, and MDS and PSS scores.
文摘Purpose: To examine the impact of gender and social gender on the level and typology of interictal aggressiveness in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy. In healthy subjects, the masculine traits positively correlated with assault.

文摘Stress studies frequently utilize physical stressors to establish animal models of stress. Results suggest that social isolation plus resident intruder may serve as an appropriate model for anger-in and anger-out emotion modeling in the rat.

文摘Aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM) is a rare tumour that often occurs in soft tissues of the female genital tract. Ultrasound can be a valuable imaging method for the preoperative diagnosis, eva-luation of scope, and follow-up of AAM.
文摘BACKGROUND There is conflincting evidence on the intravenous fluid(IVF)strategy for acute pancreatitis(AP).We perform a metaanalysis of the available evidence.AIM To investigate if aggressive IVF therapy in AP patients is beneficial to decrease mortality and improve outcomes.METHODS Metaanalysis of available randomized controlled trials and cohort studies comparing aggressive IVF vs non-aggressive IVF resuscitation.RESULTS There was no significant difference in mortality between the aggressive(n=1229)and non-aggressive IVF(n=1397)patients.Patients receiving aggressive IVF therapy had higher risk for acute kidney injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome. There also was no significant difference in the overall incidence of systemic inflammatory response syndrome, persistent organ failure, pancreatic necrosis when comparing both study groups.CONCLUSION Early aggressive IVF therapy did not improve mortality. Moreover, aggressive IVF therapy could potentially increase the risk for acute kidney injury and pulmonary edema leading to respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation.Studies are needed to investigate which subset of AP patients could benefit from aggressive IVF therapy.

文摘The microstructure and corrosion behavior of Al-Zn-Mg alloy(namely 7×××)after natural aging treatment(NAT)and artificial aging treatment(AAT)in aqueous NaCl solutions containing different aggressive ions have been investigated in current work. Results of microstructure characterization demonstrate that the aging treatment has a great influence on the grain size and precipitates. The grain size is relatively sizeable and no evident precipitates are observed in alloy after NAT comparable with that after AAT.The electrochemical corrosion behavior of alloy was studied by polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The corrosion potential(E_(corr))of the aluminum alloy is more negative in 3.5 wt.%NaCl containing 0.052 wt.%NaHSO_(3)solution than that in 3.5 wt.%NaCl solutions with or without 0.907 wt.%NaHCO_(3).Charge transfer resistance(Rct)results reveal that alloy after AAT has an enhancement of corrosion resistance compare with that after NAT.With the immersion time increasing, mostly pitting spreads over the surface of the alloy only in NaCl solution, whereas exfoliation corrosion mainly occurs in NaCl solutions containing NaHSO_(3)or NaHCO_(3).
文摘To derive a precise estimation of the associations between the cytochrome P450 1B 1 (CYPIB1) 4326C/G variants and prostate cancer (PCa) risk or aggressiveness, a meta-analysis was performed using all eligible published studies. Our meta-analysis showed that CYPIB1 4326G allele is significantly associated with an increased PCa risk in Asians and in sporadic PCa cases.
文摘BACKGROUND Desmoid tumors(DT) are locally advanced but histologically benign monoclonal neoplasms that can occur from any musculoaponeurotic structure. Sorafenib is a hopeful therapeutic option against DTs, while several pharmacological agents have been successfully used.

文摘Objective To explore the endocfinal factors which influence the aggressive behavior of adolescents. Conclusion CORT and T levels may play a certain role in adolescent aggressive behaviors.

文摘The ATP-binding cassette transporters(ABC transporters)have been intensely studied over the past 50 years for their involvement in the multidrug resistance(MDR)phenotype, especially in cancer. They are frequently overexpressed in both naive and post-treatment tumors, and hinder effective chemotherapy by reducing drug accumulation in cancer cells. In the last decade however, several studies have established that ABC transporters have additional, fundamental roles in tumor biology;there is strong evidence that these proteins are involved in transporting tumor-enhancing molecules and/or in protein-protein interactions that impact cancer aggressiveness, progression, and patient prognosis. This review highlights these studies in relation to some well-described cancer hallmarks,in an effort to re-emphasize the need for further investigation into the physiological functions of ABC transporters that are critical for tum or development.Unraveling these new roles offers an opportunity to define new strategies and targets for therapy, which would include endogenous substrates or signaling pathways that regulate these proteins.
文摘Aim of this research is to explore the relation of hunting with aggressiveness. The following behavioral patterns of gradually enhanced aggressiveness appear: incidentally just provoking, impulsively being aggressive but without harming, and adaptively being aggressive and harming.
文摘BACKGROUND In recent years,a decrease in incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer(CRC)has been observed in developed nations, presumably through public disease awareness and increased screening efforts. However,a rising incidence of CRC in young patients below the age of 50 years has been reported in several studies.AIM To study tumor biology in CRC patients below 50 years of age.METHODS All patients with CRC were prospectively enrolled in our single-center oncologic database from January 2013 to December 2018 and were grouped and analyzed according to age(≥50 and<50 years).Clinical as well as histopathological features were analyzed and compared. The study was approved by the local Ethics Committee.Fisher’s exact test or t-test was used to test for differences between the groups,as appropriate. All statistical analysis was performed with IBM SPSS software Version 25(SPSS Inc,Armonk,NY,United States)and with RStudio using R Version 3.4.1(RStudio,Boston,MA,United States).RESULTS Seventeen percent of the 411 patients were younger than 50 years.Young patients were more often diagnosed with locally advanced T4-tumors and lymph node metastases(36.6%and 62%vs 17.7%and 42%;P<0.01).In addition,a higher frequency of poorly differentiated(G3)tumors(40%vs 22.4%P<0.05)was observed.More than every second patient below 40 years of age(51.8%)had distant metastases at diagnosis with a significant higher rate ring of signet cell differentiation compared to patients≥50 years(14.8%,P<0.05).Mutational status(KRAS,NRAS,BRAF,MSI)as well as selected behavioral risk factors showed no significant differences.CONCLUSION Distinct histopathologic features of increased biologic aggressiveness are found in patients with CRC of young-onset.Those patients present more frequently with more advanced tumor stages compared to older patients.Features of aggressive tumor biology underscore the need for earlier uptake of routine screening measures.
文摘Intra-abdominal aggressive fibromatosis is a locally aggressive tumor mostly originating from the mesentery or retroperitoneal space, infiltrating adjacent tissues, and very rarely metastasizing to distant organs. Histopathological verification is of great significance for a proper diagnosis.

文摘AIM: To evaluate the role of thymidine phosphorylase (TP) in cholangiocarcinoma using small interfering RNA (siRNA). CONCLUSION: Inhibition of TP may be beneficial in decreasing angiogenesis-dependent growth and migration of cholangiocarcinoma but may diminish the response to 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy.
文摘Aim of this research is the detection of aggressive communication parameters and typology. A typology of targets is depicting a sharper fragmentation than a typology of general involvement (targeted and acting).

文摘The effects of aggressive peat nature (pH) on the strength of peat treated by cement and cement-sodium silicate grout were investigated by evaluating the changes in unconfined compressive strength, moisture content, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of samples with time in different pH media. The results indicate that peats treated by cement-silicate have higher strength than peats treated by cement, due to an increase in pH value of the media.Furthermore, cement and cement-silicate are highly effective in reducing the moisture content and void ratio of the treated peats. The microstructures of treated peats support the laboratory test results.
