Since the coronavirus pandemic,many factors led to the change in the mental well-being of hospital administrators and their staff.The pandemic negatively impacted the availability and capability of health professional...Since the coronavirus pandemic,many factors led to the change in the mental well-being of hospital administrators and their staff.The pandemic negatively impacted the availability and capability of health professionals to deliver essential services and meet rising demand.Therefore,this study aimed to understand the perspective of hospital administrators about issues and challenges that negatively impacted their staff’s mental health and hospital administrators’coping response to mitigate those challenges and issues.An exploratory qualitative study was conducted with 17 hospital administrators(superintendents,deputy superintendents,nursing in charge and hospital in charge)working in a government district hospital of Rajasthan state during September 2022 and October 2022.This study revealed various emerging themes on mental health-related issues,challenges and coping strategies reported by the administrators.Themes and sub-themes that emerged from this study were 1)Perceived mental health of HCWs-perceived importance of mental health,2)Impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of HCWs–common mental health issues,changes in mental health pre and post-pandemic,3)Impact of COVID-19 on health behavior of HCWs-increased self-care and awareness,4)Challenges responsible for poor mental health of HCWs-organizational,ethical and societal challenges and 5)Strategies to retain mental health of HCWs-effective coping strategies.The most common problems were increased levels of stress,feeling fatigued,tiredness,weak and anxiety among the HCWs.Keeping their staff motivated was the biggest challenge reported.Social support,counseling through professionals and demystifying myths were the most effective coping strategies adopted by the participants.In conclusion,this study reported poor mental health-related issues,challenges faced by the HCWs and effective strategies adopted by hospital administrators during tough situations.This study will assist hospital administrators in developing interventions such as regular training programs and workshops to teach effective coping skills to address poor mental health during crises.展开更多

The work was motivated by the inability of network administrators to access their virtual servers from a remote location without worrying about the security implications, inaccurate and unreliable reports from a third party whenever he is out of town. The cloud server can be monitored and administered because various task such as creating users, manage users (grant access, block or delete users), restart server and shutdown server can be handled by the remote system administrator. This will involve of securing the system with a one-way hashing of encrypted password and a device ID for only whitelisted devices to be granted access. It will be observed that remote access for system administration can be implemented using a smartphone app based on a Point-to-Point Protocol and also reveal the advantages of PPP protocol, therefore making the enormous responsibilities of a remote system administrator much easier to accomplish.展开更多

The research objectives include identifying the competencies necessary for academic administrators, assessing the experience of current administrators, and developing a comprehensive succession plan framework. The research uses qualitative methods, including literature review, interviews with nursing administrators, and analysis of existing succession models. Results highlight the importance of integrating strategic planning into succession processes to ensure smooth transitions and organizational stability. Conclusions suggest that a formalized succession plan, incorporating mentorship and leadership development, can mitigate leadership gaps in nursing academia [2].展开更多

The thoracic duct(TD),the largest lymphatic vessel in the human body,plays a critical role in returning lymph to the circulatory system.However,its dynamic,distensible nature and concealed anatomical location make int...The thoracic duct(TD),the largest lymphatic vessel in the human body,plays a critical role in returning lymph to the circulatory system.However,its dynamic,distensible nature and concealed anatomical location make intraoperative visualization critically challenging and increase the risk of injury.Real-time,high-resolution assessment of TD leaks remains an urgent clinical need.Here,we present a breakthrough molecular engineering strategy that leverages an intestinally lipophilic fluorescent formulation for dynamic in vivo TD imaging.Our rationally designed cyanine derivative IR790+,known for its rapid membrane permeability and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)targeting localization,demonstrates unprecedented chylomicron affinity,which subsequently transports the dye through the lymphatic system to the TD.Notably,dynamic,high-contrast intraoperative TD imaging is achieved from rat models to swine models.Administered orally as near-infrared(NIR)fluorescent contrast agent,this ultra-stable IR790+@oil formulation,engineered via flash nanoprecipitation,surpasses conventional counterparts by enabling non-invasive,real-time identification of TD.Intriguingly,this first-reported ER-targeting NIR formulation,delivered orally,represents a paradigm shift in fluorescence-guided surgery,significantly improving intraoperative accuracy.展开更多
