Since the coronavirus pandemic,many factors led to the change in the mental well-being of hospital administrators and their staff.The pandemic negatively impacted the availability and capability of health professional...Since the coronavirus pandemic,many factors led to the change in the mental well-being of hospital administrators and their staff.The pandemic negatively impacted the availability and capability of health professionals to deliver essential services and meet rising demand.Therefore,this study aimed to understand the perspective of hospital administrators about issues and challenges that negatively impacted their staff’s mental health and hospital administrators’coping response to mitigate those challenges and issues.An exploratory qualitative study was conducted with 17 hospital administrators(superintendents,deputy superintendents,nursing in charge and hospital in charge)working in a government district hospital of Rajasthan state during September 2022 and October 2022.This study revealed various emerging themes on mental health-related issues,challenges and coping strategies reported by the administrators.Themes and sub-themes that emerged from this study were 1)Perceived mental health of HCWs-perceived importance of mental health,2)Impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of HCWs–common mental health issues,changes in mental health pre and post-pandemic,3)Impact of COVID-19 on health behavior of HCWs-increased self-care and awareness,4)Challenges responsible for poor mental health of HCWs-organizational,ethical and societal challenges and 5)Strategies to retain mental health of HCWs-effective coping strategies.The most common problems were increased levels of stress,feeling fatigued,tiredness,weak and anxiety among the HCWs.Keeping their staff motivated was the biggest challenge reported.Social support,counseling through professionals and demystifying myths were the most effective coping strategies adopted by the participants.In conclusion,this study reported poor mental health-related issues,challenges faced by the HCWs and effective strategies adopted by hospital administrators during tough situations.This study will assist hospital administrators in developing interventions such as regular training programs and workshops to teach effective coping skills to address poor mental health during crises.展开更多

The work was motivated by the inability of network administrators to access their virtual servers from a remote location without worrying about the security implications, inaccurate and unreliable reports from a third party whenever he is out of town. The cloud server can be monitored and administered because various task such as creating users, manage users (grant access, block or delete users), restart server and shutdown server can be handled by the remote system administrator. This will involve of securing the system with a one-way hashing of encrypted password and a device ID for only whitelisted devices to be granted access. It will be observed that remote access for system administration can be implemented using a smartphone app based on a Point-to-Point Protocol and also reveal the advantages of PPP protocol, therefore making the enormous responsibilities of a remote system administrator much easier to accomplish.展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To investigate whether Jiegeng(Radix Platycodi,RP)has a Yin-Jing potentiating effect on Jingjie(Herba Schizonepetae Tenuifoliae,ST).We investigated the pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of pulegone,th...OBJECTIVE:To investigate whether Jiegeng(Radix Platycodi,RP)has a Yin-Jing potentiating effect on Jingjie(Herba Schizonepetae Tenuifoliae,ST).We investigated the pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of pulegone,the active ingredient in ST volatile oil,in rats to verify the scientific validity of the Yin-Jing doctrine,the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS:The volatile oil and aqueous extract of ST were extracted by hydrodistillation.RP's aqueous extract underwent aqueous extraction.After individual and co-administration,we conducted pharmacokinetic and tissue distribution studies on Sprague-Dawley male rats.RESULTS:Peak concentration(Cmax),mean retention time from 0 to∞(MRT0→∞),and area under the curve(AUC0→10),(AUC0→∞)were 1.51,1.14,2.34,and 3.86 times higher in the co-administration group than in the individual administration group,respectively(P<0.05).In addition,half-life(T1/2)was significantly prolonged in the co-administration group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the clearance and elimination rate constant(Ke)in the co-administration group were significantly lower than those in the individual administration group,just 50%of those in the individual administration group(P<0.05).After co-administration of the drug,the pulegone content in all tissues of the rats was elevated to varying degrees,especially a significant increase in the drug content in lung tissues(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:After co-administration,the retention of pulegone in the body was prolonged,the elimination of pulegone from the body was delayed,and the accumulation of pulegone in the lungs was facilitated.Therefore,using RP as a Yin-Jing drug concoction has a significant cumulative effect of inducing upward mobilization and targeting lung tissues.展开更多
