In non-homogeneous environment, traditional space-time adaptive processing doesn't effectively suppress interference and detect target, because the secondary data don' t exactly reflect the statistical characteristic of the range cell under test. A ravel methodology utilizing the direct data domain approach to space-time adaptive processing ( STAP ) in airbome radar non-homogeneous environments is presented. The deterministic least squares adaptive signal processing technique operates on a "snapshot-by-snapshot" basis to dethrone the adaptive adaptive weights for nulling interferences and estimating signal of interest (SOI). Furthermore, this approach eliminates the requirement for estimating the covariance through the data of neighboring range cell, which eliminates calculating the inverse of covariance, and can be implemented to operate in real-time. Simulation results illustrate the efficiency of interference suppression in non-homogeneous environment. 展开更多

For the slowly changed environment-range-dependent non-homogeneity, a new statistical space-time adaptive processing algorithm is proposed, which uses the statistical methods, such as Bayes or likelihood criterion to estimate the approximative covariance matrix in the non-homogeneous condition. According to the statistical characteristics of the space-time snapshot data, via defining the aggregate snapshot data and corresponding events, the conditional probability of the space-time snapshot data which is the effective training data is given, then the weighting coefficients are obtained for the weighting method. The theory analysis indicates that the statistical methods of the Bayes and likelihood criterion for covariance matrix estimation are more reasonable than other methods that estimate the covariance matrix with the use of training data except the detected outliers. The last simulations attest that the proposed algorithms can estimate the covariance in the non-homogeneous condition exactly and have favorable characteristics. 展开更多

To address the significant degradation of Space-Time Adaptive Processing(STAP)performance when the array elements have mutual coupling and gain/phase errors,a STAP algorithm with adaptive calibration for the above two array errors is proposed in this article.First,based on a defined error matrix that simultaneously considers both array mutual coupling and gain/phase errors,a STAP signal model including these errors is given.Then,utilizing the defined signal model,it is demonstrated that the estimation of the defined error matrix can be formulized as a standard convex optimization problem with the low-rank structure of the clutter covariance matrix and the subspace projection theory.Once the defined error matrix is estimated by solving the convex optimization problem,it is illustrated that a STAP method with adaptive calibration of the mutual coupling and gain/phase errors is coined.Analyses also show that the proposed adaptive calibration algorithm only needs one training sample to construct the adaptive weight vector.Therefore,it can achieve a good detection performance even with severe non-homogeneous clutter environments.Finally,the simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and the correctness of the analytical results. 展开更多

Adaptive antenna arrays have been used to mitigate the interference on global navigation satellite system(GNSS) receivers. The performance of interference mitigation depends on the beamforming algorithms adopted by the antenna array. However,the adaptive beamforming will change the array pattern in realtime, which has the potential to introduce phase center biases into the antenna array. For precise applications, these phase biases must be mitigated or compensated because they will bring errors in code phase and carrier phase measurements. A novel adaptive beamforming algorithm is proposed firstly, then the phase bias induced by the proposed algorithm is estimated, and finally a compensation strategy is addressed. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed beamforming algorithm suppresses effectively the strong interference and improves significantly the capturing performance of GNSS signals. Simultaneously, the bias compensation method avoids the loss of the carrier phase lock and reduces the phase measurement errors for GNSS receivers. 展开更多

In this article, a new reduced-dimensional adaptive processing algorithm based on joint pixels sum-difference data for clutter rejection is proposed. The sum-difference data are obtained by orthogonal projection of the joint pixels data of different synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images generated by a multi-satellite radar system. In the sense of statistical expectation, the sum-difference data contain the common and different information of the SAR images. Therefore, the objective of clutter cancellation can be achieved by adaptive processing. Moreover, based on the residual image after clutter rejection, statistical analysis of constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) detection of moving targets is also presented. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm even with heterogeneous clutter and image co-registration error. 展开更多

The integration of artificial intelligence into the development and production of mechatronic products offers a substantial opportunity to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and system performance. This paper examines the utilization of reinforcement learning as a control strategy, with a particular focus on its deployment in pivotal stages of the product development lifecycle, specifically between system architecture and system integration and verification. A controller based on reinforcement learning was developed and evaluated in comparison to traditional proportional-integral controllers in dynamic and fault-prone environments. The results illustrate the superior adaptability, stability, and optimization potential of the reinforcement learning approach, particularly in addressing dynamic disturbances and ensuring robust performance. The study illustrates how reinforcement learning can facilitate the transition from conceptual design to implementation by automating optimization processes, enabling interface automation, and enhancing system-level testing. Based on the aforementioned findings, this paper presents future directions for research, which include the integration of domain-specific knowledge into the reinforcement learning process and the validation of this process in real-world environments. The results underscore the potential of artificial intelligence-driven methodologies to revolutionize the design and deployment of intelligent mechatronic systems. 展开更多

Low stiffness and positioning problems are difficulties and challenges in the precise machining of near-net-shaped blades.This paper aims to achieve high accuracy in manufacturing by fixture-and deformation-control in the adaptive CNC machining process.Adaptive CNC machining technology is first analyzed,and new fixture-evaluation criteria and methods to evaluate the adaptive CNC machining process fixture design are built.Second,a machining fixture is designed and manufactured after analyzing its positioning scheme,clamping scheme,materials(PEEK-GF30),and structure characteristics.Finally,the designed fixture is analyzed by FEA and experimentally verified by a cutting experiment.The results show that the deformation of the blade is an overall rigid-body displacement,the main deformation of the blade-fixture system occurs on the four clamping heads,and this fixture can effectively protect the blade from local deformation.The proposed clamping-sequence method reliably and effectively controls the local maximum deformation of the blade.The system stiffness is increased by 20 Hz,with each clamping force increased by 200 N.Both high-and low-frequency displacement in roughing milling or finishing milling are acceptable relative to the accuracy demand of blade machining.This fixture and an adaptive CNC machining process can achieve high accuracy in blade manufacturing. 展开更多

An adaptive optics (AO) system based on a stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) algorithm is proposed to reduce the speckle noises in the optical system of a stellar coronagraph in order to further improve the contrast. The principle of the SPGD algorithm is described briefly and a metric suitable for point source imaging optimization is given. The feasibility and good performance of the SPGD algorithm is demonstrated by an experimental system featured with a 140-actuator deformable mirror and a Hartrnann-Shark wavefront sensor. Then the SPGD based AO is applied to a liquid crystal array (LCA) based coronagraph to improve the contrast. The LCA can modulate the incoming light to generate a pupil apodization mask of any pattern. A circular stepped pattern is used in our preliminary experiment and the image contrast shows improvement from 10^-3 to 10^-4.5 at an angular distance of 2A/D after being corrected by SPGD based AO. 展开更多

Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is an effective method adopted in airborne radar to suppress ground clutter. Multi- ple-input multiple-output (M1MO) radar is a new radar concept and has superiority over conventional radars. Recent proposals have been applying STAP in MIMO configuration to the improvement of the performance of conventional radars. As waveforms transmitted by MIMO radar can be correlated or uncorrelated with each other, this article develops a unified signal model incor- porating waveforms for STAP in MIMO radar with waveform diversity. Through this framework, STAP performances are ex- pressed as functions of the waveform covariance matrix (WCM). Then, effects of waveforms can be investigated. The sensitivity, i.e., the maximum range detectable, is shown to be proportional to the maximum eigenvalue of WCM. Both theoretical studies and numerical simulation examples illustrate the waveform effects on the sensitivity of MIMO STAP radar, based on which we can make better trade-off between waveforms to achieve optimal system performance. 展开更多

For the new algorithm, diagonal loading is by setting initial inverse matrix without any addition of computation. In addition, a corresponding improved recursive algorithm is presented, which is low computational complexity. This eliminates the complex multiplications of the scalar coefficient and updating matrix, resulting in significant computational savings. Simulations show that the LSMI-IMR algorithm is valid. 展开更多

In this paper,a space-time adaptive processing(STAP)method is proposed for the airborne radar with the array amplitude-phase error considered,which is based on atomic norm minimization(ANM).In the conventional ANM-based STAP method,the influence of the array amplitude-phase error is not considered and restrained,which inevitably causes performance deterioration.To solve this problem,the array amplitude-phase error is firstly estimated.Then,by pre-estimating the array amplitude-phase error information,a modified ANM model is built,in which the array amplitude-phase error factor is separated from the clutter response and the clutter covariance matrix(CCM)to improve the estimation accuracy of the CCM.To prove that the atomic norm theory is applicable in the presence of the array amplitude-phase error,the clutter sparsity is analyzed in this paper.Meanwhile,simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art STAP method.Moreover,the measured data is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

The location of a moving target based on signal fitting and sub-aperture tracking from an airborne multi-channel radar is dealt with.The proposed approach is applied in two steps:first,the ambiguous slant-range velocity is derived with a modified single-snapshot multiple direction of arrival estimation method,and second,the unambiguous slant-range velocity is found using a track-based criterion.The prominent advantage of the proposed approach is that the unambiguous slant-range velocity can be very large.Besides,the first stage is carried out at the determinate range-Doppler test cell by azimuth searching for fitting best to the moving target signal,therefore,the location performance would not be sacrificed in order to suppress clutter and/or interference.The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method are validated with a set of airborne experimental data. 展开更多

According to matrix in- verse theorem, the range of the diagonal loading values for space-time adaptive wideband signal pro- cessing structure is deduced, and the optimum equation of diagonal loading beam forming algorithm of space-time structure is obtained. Then, by the analysis of two-dimensional oriented vector in di- rection of the perturbation interference, the wideband interference covariance matrix obtained in the weights training period is modified. Finally, the optimum weight of multi-linear constrained space- time adaptive beam-forming alogrithm is derived for anti-interference filter processing.
