A spike response model(SRM)based on the spikes generator circuit(SGC)of adaptive fuzzy spiking neurons(AFSNs)is developed.The SRM is simulated in MatlabTM environment.The proposed model is applied to a configuration of a fuzzy exclusive or(fuzzy XOR)operator,as an illustrative example.A description of the comparison of AFSNs with other similar methods is given.The novel method of the AFSNs is used to determine the value of the weights or parameters of the fuzzy XOR,first with dynamic weights or self-tuning parameters that adapt continuously,then with fixed weights obtained after training,finally with fixed weights and a dynamic gain or self-tuning gain for a fine adjustment of amplitude. 展开更多

Vertebrate neurons are highly dynamic cells that undergo several alterations in their functioning and physiologies in adaptation to various external stimuli.In particular,how these neurons respond to physical exercise has long been an area of active research.Studies of the vertebrate locomotor system’s adaptability suggest multiple mechanisms are involved in the regulation of neuronal activity and properties during exercise.In this brief review,we highlight recent results and insights from the field with a focus on the following mechanisms:(a)alterations in neuronal excitability during acute exercise;(b)alterations in neuronal excitability after chronic exercise;(c)exercise-induced changes in neuronal membrane properties via modulation of ion channel activity;(d)exercise-enhanced dendritic plasticity;and(e)exercise-induced alterations in neuronal gene expression and protein synthesis.Our hope is to update the community with a cellular and molecular understanding of the recent mechanisms underlying the adaptability of the vertebrate locomotor system in response to both acute and chronic physical exercise. 展开更多

A synchronous condenser(SC)isusedto maintain grid voltage stability owing to its bidirectional fast reactive power regulation ability and good dynamic characteristics.To address the issue of dynamic voltage instability inpower systemduring failuresor heavy inductive loads,an SC reactive power regulation optimization method based onsingle neuron adaptive PID(SNA-PID)combined with whale optimization algorithm(WOA)is proposed.This approach aimsto overcome the limitationsof normal PID controllers.Asimulation model of the SC reactive power regulation system,based on SNA-PID combined with the WOA,is established using Matlab.The parameters of the SNA-PID are optimizedbythe WOAwith the ITAE criterion under two typical operation situationsof the power system:one is to set three different degrees of short-circuit ground faults,and the other isto accessthree different three-phase resistive loads.Compared to conventional PID control,asthe degree of short-circuit ground faults increases and the three-phase resistive load resistance decreases,the SC reactive power regulation optimization method based on SNA-PID combined with the WOA can still reduce the voltage recovery time and voltage oscillation,while maintaining voltage stability.Simulation results show that the proposed method exhibits better dynamic adjustment characteristics and adaptive ability. 展开更多

Control design is important for PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell) distributed power generator to satisfy user requirement for safe and stable operation. For a complex multi-variable dynamic system, a dynamic simulation model is first established. In view of close coupling and non-linear relationships between variables, the intelligent auto-adapted PI decoupling control method is used. From the simulation results it is found that, by bringing quadratic performance index in the single neuron, constructing adaptive PI controller, and adjusting gas flow rates through the second pressure relief valve and air compressor coordinately, both anode and cathode pressures can be maintained at ideal levels. 展开更多

To reduce the damages of pavement,vehicle components and agricultural product during transportation,an electric control air suspension height adjustment system of agricultural transport vehicle was studied by means of simulation and bench test.For the oscillation phenomenon of vehicle height in driving process,the mathematical model of the vehicle height adjustment system was developed,and the controller of vehicle height based on single neuron adaptive PID control algorithm was designed.The control model was simulated via Matlab/Simulink,and bench test was conducted.Results show that the method is feasible and effective to solve the agricultural vehicle body height unstable phenomenon in the process of switching.Compared with other PID algorithms,the single neuron adaptive PID control in agricultural transport vehicle has shorter response time,faster response speed and more stable switching state.The stability of the designed vehicle height adjustment system and the ride comfort of agricultural transport vehicle were improved. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel method of power quality enrichment in a grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) system using a distribution static compensator(DSTATCOM). The paper consists of two-step control processes. In the primary step, a fuzzy logic controller(FLC) is employed in the DC-DC converter to extract the peak power point from the PV panel, where the FLC produces a switching signal for the DC-DC converter.In the secondary step, a unit vector template(UVT)/adaptive linear neuron(ADALINE)-based least mean square(LMS) controller is adopted in the DC-AC converter, i. e., voltage source converter(VSC). The input to this VSC is the boosted DC voltage, which originates from the PV panel as a result of DC-DC conversion. The VSC shunted with the power grid is known as a DSTATCOM, which can maintain the power quality in the distribution system. The UVT controller generates reference source currents from the grid voltages and DC-link voltages.The ADALINE-based LMS controller calculates the online weight according to the previous weights by the sensed load current. The UVT/ADALINE-based LMS controller of a DSTATCOM performs several tasks such as maintaining the sinusoidal source current, achieving a unity power factor, and performing reactive power compensation. The reference current extracted from the UVT/ADALINE-based LMS controller is fed to the hysteresis current controller to obtain the desired switching signal for the VSC. A 100 k W solar PV system integrated into a three-phase four-wire distribution system through a four-leg VSC is designed in MATLAB/Simulink. The performances of the FLC and UVT/ADALINE-based LMS controllers are demonstrated under various irradiances as well as constant temperature and nonlinear loading conditions. 展开更多
