The model domain is subdivided into unstructured tetrahedral elements that allow for efficient local mesh refinement and flexible description of complex models. The elements that affect the solution at each receiver location are adaptively refined according to a goal-oriented posteriori error estimator using dual-error weighting approach. The FE method with adapting mesh can easily handle such structures at almost any level of complexity. The method is demonstrated on two synthetic resistivity models with analytical solutions and available results from integral equation method, so the errors can be quantified. The applicability of the numerical method is illustrated on a resistivity model with a topographic ridge. A data-driven nonparametric model adaptive control(NMAC) method is proposed in this paper to control the position of a linear servo system. The controller design requires no information about the structure of linear servo system, and it is based on the estimation and forecasting of the pseudo-partial derivatives(PPD) which are estimated according to the voltage input and position output of the linear motor. The characteristics and operational mechanism of the permanent magnet synchronous linear motor(PMSLM) are introduced, and the proposed nonparametric model control strategy has been compared with the classic proportional-integral-derivative(PID) control algorithm. Several real-time experiments on the motion control system incorporating a permanent magnet synchronous linear motor showed that the nonparametric model adaptive control method improved the system s response to disturbances and its position-tracking precision, even for a nonlinear system with incompletely known dynamic characteristics.展开更多

However, because of the instability of the radar system, the echoes of the 1SAR will be randomly lost. The conventional FFT processing methods can cause image blur and high sidelobes or other issues. A novel algorithm for ISAR missing-data imaging based on the Iterative Adaptive Approach (IAA) is proposed. Conventional Milan criteria are the reference for the selection of patients worldwide, but many expanded criteria, like University of California San Francisco criteria and up-to-7 criteria, have demonstrated that survival and recurrence results are lower than those for restricted indications. Correct staging is crucial and should include surrogate markers of biological aggressiveness(α-fetoprotein, response to loco-regional treatments). Successful down-staging can select between patients with tumor burden initially beyond transplantation criteria those with a more favorable biology, provided a 3-mo stability in meeting the transplantation criteria. Allocation rules are constantly adjusted to minimize the imbalance between the priorities of candidates with and without hepatocellular carcinoma, and take into account local donor rate and waitlist dynamics. Recently, Mazzaferro et al proposed a benefit-oriented "adaptive approach", in which the selection and allocation of patients are based on their response to non-transplantation treatments: low priority for transplantation in case of complete response, high priority in case of partial response or recurrence, and no listing in case of progression beyond transplantation criteria.展开更多

The paper uses an LMI-based iterative nonlinear optimization algorithm to establish a method of designing state-feedback controllers for power systems with a time-varying delay. This method is based on the delay-dependent stabilization conditions obtained by the improved free weighting matrix (IFWM) approach. In the stabilization conditions, the upper bound of feedback signal’s transmission delays is taken into consideration. This strategy is based on unknown input proportional integral (PI) multiobserver. Thecontribution of this paper is on one hand the creation of a new DFIM model based on multi-model approach and, on the other hand, the synthesis of an adaptive PI multi-observer. The DFIM Volt per Hertz drive system behaves as a nonlinear complex system. It consists of a DFIM powered through a controlled PWM Voltage Source Inverter (VSI). The need of a sensorless drive requires soft sensors such as estimators or observers. In particular, an adaptive Proportional-Integral multi-observer is synthesized in order to estimate the DFIM’s outputs which are affected by different faults and to generate the different residual signals symptoms of sensor fault occurrence. The convergence of the estimation error is guaranteed by using the Lyapunov’s based theory. The proposed diagnosis approach is experimentally validated on a 1 kW Induction motor. Obtained simulation results confirm that the adaptive PI multiobserver consent to accomplish the detection, isolation and fault identification tasks with high dynamic performances.展开更多

This paper focuses on the computational method of the dynamic response for truss adaptive structures. Firstly, a new technique of state vector approach is applied to study the dynamic response of truss adaptive structures. It can make the coeffic lent matrix of first derivative of state vector a symmetric positive definite matrix, and particularly a diagonal matrix provided that mass matrix is derived by lumped method, so the coefficient matrix of the first derivative of state vector can be exactly decomposed by CHOLESKY method. In this case, the proposed technique not only improves the calculation accuracy, but also saves the computing time. Based on the procedure mentioned above, the mathematical formulation for the system response of truss adaptive structures is systematically derived in theory. Thirdly, by using FORTRAN language, a program system for computing dynamic response of truss adaptive structures is developed. Fourthly, a typical 18 bar space truss adaptive structure has been chosen as test numerical examples to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Finally, some good suggestions, such as how to choose complex mode shapes practically in determining the dynamic response are also given. The new approach can be extended to calculate the dynamic response of general adaptive structures.展开更多

It is usually much difficult and costly to be solved. In this paper, the optimal location of active members is treated in terms of (0, 1) discrete variables. Structural member sizes, control gains, and (0, 1) placement variables are treated simultaneously as design variables. Then, a succinct and reasonable compromise scalar model, which is transformed from original multi-objective optimization, is established, in which the (0, 1) discrete variables are converted into an equality constraint. Secondly, by penalty function approach, the subsequent scalar mixed variable compromise model can be formulated equivalently as a sequence of continuous variable problems. Thirdly, for each continuous problem in the sequence, by choosing intermediate design variables and temporary critical constraints, the approximation concept is carried out to generate a sequence of explicit approximate problems which enhance the quality of the approximate design problems. Considering the proposed method, a FORTRAN program OPAMTAS2.0 for optimal placement of active members in truss adaptive structures is developed, which is used by the constrained variable metric method with the watchdog technique (CVMW method). Finally, a typical 18 bar truss adaptive structure as test numerical examples is presented to illustrate that the design methodology set forth is simple, feasible, efficient and stable. The established scalar mixed variable compromise model that can avoid the ill-conditioned possibility caused by the different orders of magnitude of various objective functions in optimization process, therefore, it enables the optimization algorithm to have a good stability. On the other hand, the proposed novel optimization technique can make both discrete and continuous variables be optimized simultaneously.展开更多

Cascade adaptive control approach with only one control input is presented to stabilize states of the uncertain unified chaotic system at the zero equilibrium point. Since an adaptive controller based on dynamic compensation mechanism is employed, the exact model of the unified chaotic system is not necessarily required. By choosing appropriate controller parameters, chaotic phenomenon can be suppressed and the response speed is tunable. Sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability of the approach is derived. Numerical simulation results confirm that the cascade adaptive control approach with only one control signal is valid in chaos control of uncertain unified chaotic systems.展开更多

The new approach can be extended to calculate the dynamic response of general adaptive structures.

文摘An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) for predicting the performance of a reversibly used cooling tower(RUCT) under cross flow conditions as part of a heat pump system for a heating mode in winter was demonstrated.Extensive field experimental work was carried out in order to gather enough data for training and prediction. The statistical methods, such as the correlation coefficient, absolute fraction of variance and root mean square error, were given to compare the predicted and actual values for model validation. The simulation results predicted with the ANFIS can be used to simulate the performance of a reversibly used cooling tower quite accurately. Therefore, the ANFIS approach can reliably be used for forecasting the performance of RUCT.
文摘Predictive biomarkers are important to the future of oncology; they can be used to identify patient populations who will benefit from therapy, increase the value of cancer medicines, and decrease the size and cost of clinical trials while increasing their chance of success. But predictive biomarkers do not always work. When unsuccessful, they add cost, complexity, and time to drug development. This perspective describes phases 2 and 3 development methods that efficiently and adaptively check the ability of a biomarker to predict clinical outcomes. In the end, the biomarker is emphasized to the extent that it can actually predict.

文摘The mathematical model of optimal placement of active members in truss adaptive structures is essentially a nonlinear multi-objective optimization problem with mixed variables. On the other hand, the proposed novel optimization technique can make both discrete and continuous variables be optimized simultaneously.

文摘The chaos control of uncertain unified chaotic systems is considered. Numerical simulation results confirm that the cascade adaptive control approach with only one control signal is valid in chaos control of uncertain unified chaotic systems.
