The results show that the varistor properties were significantly influenced by the size of introduced seed grains, and introducing larger seed grains is more advantageous to the modification of microstructure and the improvement of varistor properties. The varistor properties were considerably improved with a moderately increased sintering temperature or time, whereas degraded apparently when the sintering temperature or time was excessively increased. Compared with the sintering time, the sintering temperature plays a more critical role in determining the varistor properties. By introducing pre fabricated ZnO seed grains into the original powders, low voltage ZnO varistor ceramics possessing the desired electrical properties have been produced with a sintering temperature of about 1 210 ℃ and a sintering temperature of 2~2.5 h. The microstructure was identified by X-ray diffraction method and scanning electron microscope was also employed to observe the surface morphologies. It is found that (La,Sb)-codoped barium strontium titanate ceramics exhibit typical perovskite structure and the average grain size decreases dramatically with increasing the content of Sb2O3. Both La3+ ions and Sb3+ ions occupy the A-sites in perovskite lattice. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of barium strontium titanate based ceramics are obviously influenced by La2O3 as well as Sb2O3 addition content. The tetragonal-cubic phase transition of La2O3 modified barium strontium titanate ceramics is of second order and the Curie temperature shifts to lower value with increasing the La2O3 doping content. The phase transition of (La,Sb)-codoped barium strontium titanate ceramics diffuses and the deviation from Curie-Weiss law becomes more obvious with the increase in Sb2O3 concentration. The temperature corresponding to the dielectric constant maximum of (La,Sb)-codoped barium strontium titanate ceramics decreases with increasing the Sb2O3 content, which is attributed to the replacement of host ions by the Sb3+ ions.展开更多

The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and complex impedance techniques were employed to characterize the samples. The experimental results indicated that the capability of glass forming in this system is superior to that of L20-A1203-TiO2-PzO~. The glass has an amorphous structure and resultant glass-ceramic mainly consisting of LiTi2(PO4)3 phases. Impurity phases AIPO4, TiO2, TiP207 and unidentified phase were observed. With the enhanced heat-treatment temperature, grain grew gradually and lithium ion conductivity of glass-ceramics increased accordingly, the related impedance semicircles were depressed gradually and even disappeared, which could be analytically explained by the coordinate action of the 'Constant phase element' (CPE) model and the 'Concept of Mismatch and Relaxation' model (CMR). When the sample is devitrified at 1 000 ~C, the maximum room temperature lithium ion conductivity comes up to 4.1 x 10-4 S/cm, which is suitable for the application as an electrolyte of all-solid-state lithium batteries.展开更多

The glass-ceramic composite was evaluated for relative densities, shrinkage and microwave dielectric properties (εr, Qxf0). The sintered body at low temperature demonstrated applicable properties such as high relative density over 85% and various dielectric properties, namely 13-20 for εr, 2000-10000 GHz for Qxf0. The results suggest that the composite has a good potential for using low temperature co-fired ceramic compositions for high-frequency application.展开更多

The catalysts were evaluated for NOx conversion using NH3 as the reductant. Hydrothermal ageing decreased the NOx conversion of V2O5/WO3‐TiO2 catalyst severely over the entire measured tem‐perature range. Interestingly, the NH3‐SCR activity of the silica‐modified catalyst at 220–480℃ is enhanced after ageing. The catalysts were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, X‐ray fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, H2 temperature‐programmed reduction, and NH3 temper‐ature‐programmed desorption. The addition of silica inhibited the phase transition from anatase to rutile titania, growth of TiO2 crystallite size and shrinkage of catalyst surface area. Consequently, the vanadia species remained highly dispersed and the hydrothermal stability of the V2O5/WO3‐TiO2 catalyst was significantly improved.展开更多
