We demonstrate the generation of dark and bright solitons with our homemade zirconia-based erbium-doped fiber and graphene oxide(GO) saturable absorber in anomalous dispersion region.The GO is fabricated using an ab...We demonstrate the generation of dark and bright solitons with our homemade zirconia-based erbium-doped fiber and graphene oxide(GO) saturable absorber in anomalous dispersion region.The GO is fabricated using an abridged Hummer's method,which is combined with polyethylene oxide to produce a composite film.The film is sandwiched between two optical ferrules and embedded in the laser cavity to enhance its birefringence and nonlinearity.The self-starting bright soliton is easily generated at pump power of 78 mW with the whole length cavity of 14.7 m.The laser produces the bright pulse train with repetition rate,pulse width,pulse energy and central wavelength being 13.9 MHz,0.6 ps,2.74 p J and 1577.46 nm,respectively.Then,by adding the 10 m of single mode fiber into the laser cavity,dark soliton pulse is produced.For the formation of dark pulse train,the measured repetition rate,pulse width,pulse energy and central wavelength are 8.3 MHz,20 ns and 4.98 p J and1596.82 nm,respectively.Both pulses operate in the anomalous region.展开更多
To provide a material with excellent comprehensive properties for the glass kiln melting pools,zirconia powder and alumina powder were fully mixed according to the ratio of m(ZrO_(2)):m(Al_(2)O_(3))=4:1 and fused in a...To provide a material with excellent comprehensive properties for the glass kiln melting pools,zirconia powder and alumina powder were fully mixed according to the ratio of m(ZrO_(2)):m(Al_(2)O_(3))=4:1 and fused in an arc furnace.The obtained fused zirconia-corundum eutectic material was processed into different particle sizes,batched according to a certain particle size distribution and mixed evenly.After pressure molding and firing at 1750℃,new zirconia-based composites were prepared.The phase composition and microstructure of the composites were analyzed.The molten glass corrosion resistance of the composites was compared with that of zirconia corundum bricks 33#and 41#.The results show that the new zirconia-based composites have a dense structure,high chemical purity without low melting point components,and good thermal shock resistance.Compared with zirconia corundum bricks 33#and 41#,after being corroded by high temperature molten glass,the new composites have no corrosion cavities,needle-like pores,defects or liquid phase infiltration,and no reaction with molten glass,showing good corrosion resistance to molten glass.展开更多
ZrO2-based mixed metal oxide catalysts for the industrially important dehydrogenation process of ethylbenzene to styrene monomer have been explored by our group for the past 20 years.These efforts were subjected to th...ZrO2-based mixed metal oxide catalysts for the industrially important dehydrogenation process of ethylbenzene to styrene monomer have been explored by our group for the past 20 years.These efforts were subjected to the activation of CO2 over mixed metal oxide catalysts and resulted in several promising benefits to the dehydrogenation processes,such as stabilized conversion and selectivity,suppressed coke formation and commercially-acceptable longevity.In this review,we summarize the most recent developments on ZrO2-based mixed metal oxide catalysts,including the further optimization of sol-gel process in the synthesis of catalysts,rationalizing acid-base properties by doping,co-operative properties between redox and acid-base active sites and additional promoters towards the effective improvement of the longevity of catalysts.展开更多
