In research on the legendary Xia Dynasty of ancient China,the famous archaeological site of Erlitou and its culture are the most debated topics.A key question is whether this ancient culture is truly related to the Xi...In research on the legendary Xia Dynasty of ancient China,the famous archaeological site of Erlitou and its culture are the most debated topics.A key question is whether this ancient culture is truly related to the Xia Dynasty.This study combines traditional literature(Xia Xiao Zheng),archaeological evidence(on alligators),and climate simulation(of autumn rains)to demonstrate that the ancient Chinese phenological calendar,Xia Xiao Zheng,likely originated in the same region as the Erlitou culture.A logical explanation of these findings is that both Xia Xiao Zheng and the Erlitou culture are indeed closely related to the Xia Dynasty.展开更多
As an important branch of traditional medicine,Zhuang Medicine is renowned for its unique prescriptions and techniques in clinical treatment,with significant therapeutic effects and widespread popularity.This article ...As an important branch of traditional medicine,Zhuang Medicine is renowned for its unique prescriptions and techniques in clinical treatment,with significant therapeutic effects and widespread popularity.This article introduces Professor Fang Gang’s experience in treating obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)with modified Zhuang Medicine Mao Xia Yin.Professor Fang Gang proposes that the etiology and pathogenesis of obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)primarily stem from spleen deficiency,which impairs the transport of water and dampness.This dysfunction leads to the accumulation of dampness that transforms into phlegm.Over time,the stagnation of phlegm and dampness generates internal heat,resulting in the formation of“dampness toxin,”“phlegm toxin,”and“heat toxin.”These pathological toxins obstruct the circulation of Qi and blood,causing stasis and the emergence of“stasis toxin.”The buildup of these toxins ultimately blocks the three channels and two pathways,disrupting the harmony among the three Qi of heaven,earth,and man.This disharmony culminates in impaired uterine gland function.Therefore,the treatment mainly focuses on tonifying deficiency,detoxifying,and regulating Qi.展开更多

Objective： To evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of the XIA＇s No.1 Sleeping Prescription for the treatment of insomnia of the deficiency type. Methods： 120 cases conformed to the diagnostic criteria of the...Objective： To evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of the XIA＇s No.1 Sleeping Prescription for the treatment of insomnia of the deficiency type. Methods： 120 cases conformed to the diagnostic criteria of the Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders-Version 3 （CCMD-3） and were diagnosed as having insomnia of the deficiency type were divided randomly into a treatment group and a control group, 60 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with the XIA＇s No.1 Sleeping Prescription, while the control group was given estazolam （ling） for 6 weeks. The Athens Insomnia Scale （AIS） was used to evaluate the clinical therapeutic effects, while the treatment emergent symptom scale （TESS） was used to evaluate adverse reactions. Results： The total effective rate of the treatment group （80%） was higher than that of the control group （70%）, but with no significant difference （P〉0.05）. The effective rate for long-term insomnia was 77.8% in the treatment group and 52.4% in the control group, with a significant difference between the two groups （P〈0.05）. The adverse reactions shown in the treatment group were obviously fewer and milder than those in the control group. Conclusion： The XIA＇s No. 1 Sleeping Prescription is effective for insomnia of the deficiency type and with no obvious toxic side effects.展开更多

The Xia people, together with the Yin (Shang) people, and the Zhou people, were the so-called "people of San Dai" (Three Dynasties). The daily growth rate is determined. The total agar yield and fractional agar composition are analyzed. Results show that algae grow faster in low salinity. The total agar yield is higher under high salinity conditions than under low salinity conditions. Among the eight fractions extracted, the yields of cold water extract and 40% ethanol extract are about the highest In low salinities the yields of autoclaved extract and 60% ethanol extract are higher, while the yield of cold water extract is lower relative to high salinities.展开更多
Building multiethnic China was primarily driven by the cohesion and integration of main ethnic groups within Chinese territory, but the process was recorded according to traditional ethnic group discourse system of an...Building multiethnic China was primarily driven by the cohesion and integration of main ethnic groups within Chinese territory, but the process was recorded according to traditional ethnic group discourse system of ancient China, so there is some doubt whether “nation state” theory can interpret it precisely. This paper manages to figure out the trajectory of cohesion and integration of main ethnic groups propelled by ancient Chinese people from the Xia Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty by focusing on traditional views on ethnic groups of ancient China. This paper contend that although there were the phenomena of naming the products of the integrations after the regimes they belonged to,“Han people,”“Hua people” and even “Zhonghua(Chinese) people,” became the designations of main cohesive ethnic groups in China over time, and the concept of “Chen Min(subjects)” and the appearance of “nationals” that developed during the Qing Dynasty successfully transformed their identity, which Liang Qichao referred to as “Chinese nation”. Efforts by the rulers of the Qing Dynasty to bridge the gaps between different ethnic groups by developing a community of “subjects”(Chenmin), produced the concept of “Chinese nation” which included the various ethnic groups with the “Han people” as the main group. This new community merely represents the present-day cohesion of the Chinese Nation and the internal integration continues.展开更多
