The article is to study the development of computer-aided design of X-ray microtomography—the device for investigating the structure and construction of three-dimensional images of organic and inorganic objects on the basis of shadow projections. This article provides basic information regarding CAD of X-ray microtomography and a scheme consisting of three levels. The article also shows basic relations of X-ray computed tomography, the generalized scheme of an X-ray microtomographic scanner. The methods of X-ray imaging of the spatial microstructure and morphometry of materials are described. The main characteristics of an X-ray microtomographic scanner, the X-ray source, X-ray optical elements and mechanical components of the positioning system are shown. The block scheme and software functional scheme for intelligent neural network system of analysis of the internal microstructure of objects are presented. The method of choice of design parameters of CAD of X-ray microtomography aims at improving the quality of design and reducing costs of it. It is supposed to reduce the design time and eliminate the growing number of engineers involved in development and construction of X-ray microtomographic scanners. 展开更多

The aim of this work is to determine the porosity of concrete by means of two NDT (non-destructive testing) using digital images. In one test, the images were obtained through X-ray microtomography and for another test via digital scanner. In both of the tests, the images were processed using techniques of mathematical morphology and pixel processing. For both NDT, it was used concrete samples with 20-30 MPa of compressive strength. The results for the porosity were compared with results obtained by the standard test proposed by NBR (Norma Brasileira) 9778 (2005) showing the compatibility between two studied methods and pattern method. 展开更多

Large areas of muddy sediments on the coastal shelves of China provide important samples for studying climate and ecological changes. Analysis of a large number of such samples, which is essential for systematic study on environmental information recorded in mud areas because of complicated sedimentary environment and variable sedimentary rate, requires a fast and economical method. In this study, we investigated the potential of X-ray fluorescence core scanner (XRFS), a fast analytical instrument for measuring the elemental concentrations of muddy sediments, and observed a significant correlation between the element concentrations of muddy sediments determined by regular X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) and XRFS, respectively. The correlations are mainly determined by excitation energy of elements, but also influenced by solubility of element ions. Furthermore, we found a striking link between A1 concentrations and marine-originated organic carbon (MOC), a proxy of marine primary productivity. This indicates that MOC is partly controlled by sedimentary characteristics. Therefore, XRFS method has a good potential in fast analysis of a large number of muddy sediment samples, and it can also be used to calibrate MOC in ecological study of coastal seas. 展开更多

目的探讨鼻窦CT评分联合特异性免疫球蛋白E(sIgE)和白细胞介素6(IL-6)对嗜酸粒细胞型慢性鼻窦炎伴鼻息肉(ECRSwNP)患者术后复发风险的预测价值。方法选取2019年1月~2022年1月浙江大学医学院附属杭州西溪医院收治的ECRSwNP患者92例,均行... 目的探讨鼻窦CT评分联合特异性免疫球蛋白E(sIgE)和白细胞介素6(IL-6)对嗜酸粒细胞型慢性鼻窦炎伴鼻息肉(ECRSwNP)患者术后复发风险的预测价值。方法选取2019年1月~2022年1月浙江大学医学院附属杭州西溪医院收治的ECRSwNP患者92例,均行功能性鼻内镜手术,根据术后1年复发情况分为复发组(n=29)和未复发组(n=63)。比较两组鼻窦CT评分,并采用Pearson相关性分析法分析外周血嗜酸粒细胞(Eos)及组织Eos百分比(Eos%)与鼻窦CT评分的相关性;利用Logistic回归分析模型分析术后复发的危险因素,用受试者工作特征曲线(ROC)及曲线下面积(AUC)探究鼻窦CT评分、特异性免疫球蛋白E(sIgE)、IL-6对患者术后复发的预测价值。结果复发组前组筛窦评分、后组筛窦评分、鼻窦CT评分及筛窦与上颌窦评分比值(E/M比)均大于未复发组(P<0.05);组织Eos%与前组筛窦评分、后组筛窦评分及E/M比均呈正相关(r=0.305、0.381、0.642,P均<0.05),外周血Eos%与前组筛窦评分、后组筛窦评分及E/M比亦呈正相关(r=0.272、0.346、0.525,P均<0.05)。复发组哮喘患者占比、鼻塞视觉模拟量表(VAS)评分、组织Eos%、外周血Eos%及sIgE、IL-6水平均高于未复发组(P<0.05),组织中性粒细胞百分比(Neu%)、外周血Neu%则低于未复发组(P<0.05);Logistic分析显示,高水平血清sIgE、IL-6及高E/M比均是影响患者术后复发的危险因素(P<0.05)。ROC曲线分析显示,血清sIgE、IL-6、E/M比及三者联合预测ECRSwNP患者术后复发风险的AUC分别为0.818、0.758、0.696、0.915,三项指标联合预测效能高于单项检测(P<0.05)。结论高水平血清sIgE、IL-6及高E/M比是ECRSwNP患者术后复发的危险因素,三者联合预测患者鼻内镜术后复发风险具有较高临床价值。 展开更多

The penetration of water during water flooding has been observed over many years using several methods. A microfocused X-ray computed tomography scanner can be used to directly observe 3D water flooding in a nondestructive manner. To eliminate the possibility of false images being produced because of X-ray broadening effects, we developed a visualization method by arranging the brightness distribution of all phases involved. Water flooding experiments were conducted using oil-wet and water-wet porous media. The water phase was injected upward into packed glass beads containing an oil phase, and the process was scanned every minute until steady state was reached. Using this scheme, real-time, the water invasion pattern and oil trapping process in clusters of pores and individual pores can be observed clearly. By eliminating false images, the boundary of each phase could be identified with high precision, even in a single pore. Porelevel phenomena, including snap off (which has never before been captured in a real 3D porous medium), piston-like displacement, and the curvature of the interface, were also observed. Direct measurement of the pore throat radius and the contact angle between the wetting and nonwetting phases gave an approximation of the capillary pressure during the piston-like displacement and snap-off processes. 展开更多

A significant volume of Municipal Solid Waste incineration bottom ash and fly ash (i.e.,incineration residues) are commonly disposed as landfill.Meanwhile,reclamation of landfill sites to create a new land space after their closure becomes an important goal in the current fewer and fewer land availability scenario in many narrow countries.The objective of this study is to reclaim incineration residue materials in the landfill site by using cement and coal fly ash as stabilizers aiming at performing quality check as new developed materials before future construction.Indeed,physical and mechanical properties of these new materials should be initially examined at the micro scale,which is the primary fundamental for construction at larger scale.This research examines quantitative influences of using the combination of cement and coal fly ash at different ratio on the internal structure and ability of strength enhancement of incineration residues when suffering from loading.Couple of industrial and micro-focus X-ray computed tomography (CT) scanners combined with an image analysis technique were utilized to characterize and visualize the behavior and internal structure of the incineration residues-cement-coal fly ash mixture under the series of unconfined compression test and curing period effect.Nine types of cement solidified incineration residues in term of different curing period (i.e.,7,14,28 days) and coal fly ash addition content (i.e.,0%,9%,18%) were scanned before and after unconfined compression tests.It was shown that incineration residues solidified by cement and coal fly ash showed an increase in compression strength and deformation modulus with curing time and coal fly ash content.Three-dimension computed tomography images observation and analysis confirmed that solidified incineration residues including incineration bottom and fly ash as well as cement and coal fly ash have the deliquescent materials.Then,it was studied that stabilized parts play a more important role than spatial void distribution in increment or reduction of compression strength. 展开更多

Objective: To evaluate the roles of radiograph, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), three-dimensional computed tomography (3-D CT) in early diagnosis of femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI) in 17 cases. Methods: Plain radiographs of the pelvis, 3-D CT, and MRI of the hip were made on 17 patients with groin pain, which was worse with prolonged sitting (i.e. hip flexion). There was no history of trauma or childhood hip disorders in the patients who did not complain of any other joint problems or neurologic symptoms. All patients had positive anterior or posterior impingement test. Plain radiographs included an antero-posterior (AP) view of the hip and a cross table lateral view with slight internal rotation of the hip. CT scan was performed with the Lightspeed 16 row spiral (General Electric Company, USA) at 1.25 mm slice reconstruction. MRI scan was performed on the Siemens Avanto (Siemens Company, Germany)1.5T supraconduction magnetic resonance meter. The CT and MRI scans were taken from 1 cm above the acetabulum to the lesser trochanter in 5 series. Results: The plain radiographs of the pelvis showed that among the 17 patients, 12 (70.59%) had "Cam" change of the femoral head, 6 (35.29%) had positive "cross-over" sign, and 17 (100%) had positive "Pincer" change of the acetabulum. The 16 row spiral CT noncontrast enhanced scan and 3-D reconstruction could discover minus femoral offset and ossification and osteophyte of the acetabulum labrum in all the 17 cases (100%). The MRI noncontrast enhanced scan could discover more fluid in the hip joint in 15 cases (88.33%), subchondral ossification in 3 cases (17.6%), and labrum tears in 3 cases (17.6%). Conclusions: Plain radiographs can provide the initial mainstay for the diagnosis of FAI, 3-D CT can tell us the femoral offset, while MRI can show labrum tears in the very early stage of FAI. Basically, X-ray examination is enough for the early diagnosis of FAI, but 3-D CT and MRI may be useful for the treatment. 展开更多
