Context modelling involves a) characterizing a situation with related information, and b) dealing and stor- ing the information in a computer-understandable form. It is the keystone to enable a system to possess the perception ca- pacity and adapt its functionality properly for different situa- tions. However, a context model focusing on the characteris- tics of work-based learning is not well studied by pioneering researchers. For addressing this issue, in this work we firstly analyze several existing context models to identify the essen- tials of context modelling, whereby a hierarchical ontology context model is proposed to characterize work-based learn- ing. Subsequently, we present the application of the proposed model in work-based learning scenario to provide adapted learning supports to professionals. Hence, this work has sig- nificance in both theory and practice. 展开更多

This study aimed to confirm the hierarchical factor structure and the criterion validity of the Brief Mental Flexibility Questionnaire(BMFQ)in the South African context.Three hundred and eighty-five employees from a public institution in South Africa participated in the study.Confirmatory factor analysis affirmed the structural validity of the measure, comprising a general factor of mentalflexibility and six distinct processes consistent with acceptance and commitment therapy(ACT):cognitive, affective, perceptual, attentional, motivational, and behavioralflexibility.Multiple regression analysis revealed differential predictive weights of these dimensions for general mental health, with cognitiveflexibility as the primary predictor.Motivationalflexibility emerged as the strongest predictor of adaptive performance. The BMFQ offers practitioners the ability to measure an individual’s overall mentalflexibility score alongside specificflexibility dimensions, enabling targeted interventions, employee comparisons, and organisational trend analysis. 展开更多

Japan has an advanced healthcare system, on par with any developed country;at the same time, it is challenged by a rapidly aging population. In line with other countries, medical and paramedical training differs from college or university to when the graduates start working in the hospital wards;it seems like a new career to freshmen. Rehabilitation draws together the most varied professional teams treating patients from a range of specialists, and physical therapists generally receive very little intra-workplace skills training. The aim of this paper is to develop the first of a two-part educational model that is useful for the professional development of therapists working in rehabilitation medicine, by incorporating, at least, Shared Decision-Making and Narrative-Based Medicine. The most productive systems of analysis are Bloom’s psychomotor taxonomy and the Japanese DIKW system. The Japanese DIKW model of “chishin”, which is based on Data, Information, Knowledge, and Wisdom, is similar to the professional attitude and rehabilitative mindset in the healthcare system, the convalescent rehabilitation wards. The individual, departmental, and hospital levels could all benefit from aspects of these systems. Rehabilitative medicine in Japanese terms is presented as a holistic medical care that heals the body and mind and restores dignity, such as personality and self-confidence, and it is also a place where unique Japanese cultural concepts such as “Ikigai” (reason to live) and “Omotenashi” (hospitality) can be nurtured as professional awareness. 展开更多
