As China vigorously promotes the development of new energy,photovoltaic power curtailment and wind power curtailment have been effectively resolved.At the same time,the yield from new energy power generation is becoming an important factor that affects the scale of investment in new energy.This paper focuses on the weather risks faced by wind power producers.By studying current research on weather index insurance in China and abroad,the functions and design methods for weather index insurance have been clarified.In addition,the feasibility of wind-power generation index insurance is discussed.The calculation methods for wind power generation index and the weather index insurance pricing methods for wind power enterprises are proposed.A weather index insurance model for wind power generation was established.The rationality and feasibility of the weather index insurance model proposed in this paper were verified using data from an existing power plant.The simulation results show that wind power enterprises can effectively avoid economic losses caused by weather risks through weather index insurance. 展开更多

Coffee Weather Index Insurance(WII)provides smallholders with a critical buffer against climate-related losses.This study aims to investigate Chinese coffee farmers’preferences for coffee WII using a choice experiment.The results show that a majority of farmers are willing to purchase coffee WII.Attributes including the premium rate,insured amount,premium subsidy,and type of protection significantly influence farmers’preferences.Specifically,farmers favor coffee WII with revenue protection,a lower insured amount,a higher premium subsidy,and a lower premium rate.Basis risk does not significantly deter uptake.Furthermore,farmers’gender,education level,and their anticipated impact of future high temperatures on coffee production play pivotal roles in shaping WII demand.These findings offer valuable insights for insurers and policymakers,informing the design of coffee WII policies that align with local preferences and can enhance the participation of coffee farmers in WII programs. 展开更多

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of farmers' risk preferences on their decisions to purchase the agricultural weather index insurance based on the evidence from a household survey and field experiments conducted in Yongqiao District,Suzhou City of Anhui Province in China.Our empirical results show that farmers' risk aversion significantly increases the probability of their decision to buy weather index-based crop insurance.Other factors that significantly influence weather index insurance participation decisions include farmers' subjective beliefs on the probability of crop losses,farming experience,education level,farm size,and their household income.The empirical results of this study can provide helpful insights for policymakers and local insurers to further improve farmers' participation in weather indexbased crop insurance. 展开更多

In this study, two categories of weather index—absolute index and relative index—for chilling injury and heat damage of three main crops in China were assessed to identify insurable counties. First, correlations between selected weather indices and yield losses were examined for each county. If a correlation was significant, the county was categorized as ‘‘insurable'' for the corresponding hazard or index. Second, the spatial distribution of insurable counties was characterized and finally, their correlation coefficients were analyzed at various spatial scales.The results show that the spatial patterns of insurable areas varied by categories of weather indices, crops, and hazards.Moreover, the weather indices based on relative threshold of temperature were more suitable for chilling injury in most regions, whereas the indices based on absolute threshold were more suitable for heat damage. The findings could help the Chinese government and insurance companies to design effective insurance products. 展开更多

In the absence of formal risk management strategies,agricultural production in China is highly vulnerable to climate change.In this study,field experiments were conducted with 344 households in Heilongjiang(Northeast China)and Jiangsu(East China)Provinces.Probit and logistic models and independent sample T-test were used to explore farmers’demand for weather index insurance,in contrast to informal risk management strategies,and the main factors that affect demand.The results show that the farmers prefer weather index insurance to informal risk management strategies,and farmers’characteristics have significant impacts on their adoption of risk management strategies.The variables non-agricultural labor ratio,farmers’risk perception,education,and agricultural insurance purchase experience significantly affect farmers’weather index insurance demand.The regression results show that the farmers’weather index insurance demand and the influencing factors in the two provinces are different.Farmers in Heilongjiang Province have a higher participation rate than those in Jiangsu Province.The government should conduct more weather index insurance pilot programs to help farmers understand the mechanism,and insurance companies should provide more types of weather index insurance to meet farmers’diversified needs. 展开更多

The effect of variable rock mass properties on pile-rock interaction poses a great challenge to the design of stabilizing piles and numerical analysis of pile-rock interaction. The paper presents a novel method to estimate the properties of weathered bedrock, which can be applied to routine design of landslide-stabilizing piles for collivial landslides. The Ercengyan landslide located in the Three Gorges Reservoir, China, is the area of interest for this study. A geological investigation and triaxial tests were conducted to estimate the basic parameters, including Geological Strength Index(GSI), uniaxial compressive strength σ_(ci) and Hoek-Brown constant m_i of intact bedrock in the study area. Hoek-Brown criterion was used to estimate mechanical properties of the weathered rock, including elastic modulus E_m, cohesion c, friction angle Φ, and normal ultimate lateral resistance p_(max). A parametric study was performed to evaluate the effect of parameterizations of GSI, σ_(ci) and m_i on the bedrock properties and p-y curves. The estimated rock mass properties were used with PLAXIS 2D software to simulate pile-rock interaction. Effect of GSI on stress at the pile-rock interface and in the rock, pile bending moment, pile shear force, and p-y curve were analysed. 展开更多

为科学认识全球气候变化背景下鄂尔多斯市气候变化趋势和特征,采用1960—2022年该市11个气象台站的日累积降水量、日极端气温值及沙尘天气指数等观测数据,计算气候倾向率、极端气候指数和沙尘强度指数,分析近63年来极端气候事件的时间... 为科学认识全球气候变化背景下鄂尔多斯市气候变化趋势和特征,采用1960—2022年该市11个气象台站的日累积降水量、日极端气温值及沙尘天气指数等观测数据,计算气候倾向率、极端气候指数和沙尘强度指数,分析近63年来极端气候事件的时间演变特征。结果表明:鄂尔多斯市的极端温度整体呈显著上升趋势(P<0.05),且21世纪以来进入加速增暖阶段,其气候变暖过程具有明显的不对称性,具体表现为低温极值升幅高于高温极值、冷事件减少速率快于暖事件增加速率、夜间极端温度响应敏感性显著强于白天(P<0.05);除特强降水量指数、降水极大值指数及连续干湿日数指数外,其余极端降水指数均呈上升趋势,表明气候变化背景下区域“暖湿化”的响应特征,下降的指数则表明当地单次降水事件的持续时间和极端强度均呈现弱化态势;鄂尔多斯市的沙尘天气以扬沙为主要类型,浮尘和沙尘暴次之;研究时段内,3类沙尘日数均呈极显著下降趋势(P<0.01),沙尘强度指数同步发生极显著衰减(P<0.01),近20年平均强度已降至历史高值期的不足20%。 展开更多

高温胁迫是湖南省棉花减产的主要影响因子。高温天气指数保险的设计与推广,对分散和转移农业气象灾害风险,保障农民收入具有重要意义。为此,基于湘棉早1号2020-2022年3个县(区)的田间试验资料,探讨棉花花铃期的高温胁迫对产量及构成因... 高温胁迫是湖南省棉花减产的主要影响因子。高温天气指数保险的设计与推广,对分散和转移农业气象灾害风险,保障农民收入具有重要意义。为此,基于湘棉早1号2020-2022年3个县(区)的田间试验资料,探讨棉花花铃期的高温胁迫对产量及构成因素的影响,构建了高温天气指数保险模型。主要研究结果如下:(1)棉花花铃期平均气温和最高气温对发育期有明显的影响,棉花开花吐絮的天数平均缩短了8.5天。高温还影响产量构成,实收单株籽棉产量呈现下降趋势,其中华容县2022年的较2020年和2021年的分别降低了22.9%、19.4%、澧县2022年的较2020年和2021年的分别降低了12.6%、14.1%。(2)平均气温(T_(ave))、最高气温(T_(max))、平均气温(T_(ave))≥30℃的天数(DT_(ave))和最高气温≥35℃的天数(DT_(max))与成铃数及产量均呈负相关,成铃数与T_(ave)、T_(max)、DT_(max)的相关性系数分别为-0.784、-0.771、-0.701,且达到显著性水平(p≤0.05),即成铃数会随着平均气温、最高气温、≥35℃的高温天数升高而显著减少。(3)构建了棉花花铃期高温天数DT_(max)的Allometric高温灾损理赔模型,得出不同高温等级下的保险纯费率为0.16%~0.68%,赔付标准为45.0~900.0元/hm^(2)。 展开更多

Geochemical, mineralogical, and micromorphologieal characteristics of soils and their relevant parent rocks including loess, ignimbrite, sandstone and limestone were investigated to identify the soil-parent material uniformity and the weathering degree of soils in Golestan Province, northern Iran. Highly developed Caleixerolls and moderately developed Haploxerepts were formed on loess and limestone, respectively. In contrast, the soils formed on ignimbrite and sandstone were non- developed Entisols. Illite was the dominant clay mineral found in ignimbrite and sandstone in both the A horizon and parent material. In loess derived soils however, smectite was dominant especially in the Bt horizon compared to its parent material indicating partly to its pedogenic formation. In limestone, illite and vermiculite were dominant both in the A and C horizons. Ti/Zr ratio proved that the studied soils were closely related to their underlying parent materials geochemically. Chemical index of alteration (CIA), micromorphological index of soil development (MISECA), smectite/illite+chlorite ratio and magnetic susceptibility were applied to investigate the degree of soil development. Results showed that the most and the least developed soils were those formed on loess deposits and limestone,respectively. Application of the different geochemical and pedogenetic approaches was proved to be useful in identifying the relevance of soils to their underlying parent materials and also their degree of development. 展开更多

We design a weather-based indemnity index for the insurance against freeze damage to citrus orchards so as to provide technological support for the development of policy-based agriculture. The indices are prepared by separating a relative meteorological yield from the yield that is dependent on tree age, high-yield and low-yield years, and environmental factors, and then using a risk assessment scheme to determine the percentage yield reduction due to the meteorological hazard. We thus develop a set of indices associated with cold temperature damage with which to construct more severe weather indices in conjunction with the yield percentage decrease. We then combine the insured regional citrus yield index with the insured meteorological counterpart to obtain a weather-based indemnity index for the varying degree of freeze damage to crops. When the freeze damage index (FDI) is greater than -7.0℃ for the coastal belt of Zhejiang Province, China, or greater than -9.0℃ for other regions of Zhejiang, weather-based indemnity index (WBII) is zero, meaning there is no compensation; when the FDI is from -7.0 to -7.9℃ for the coastal belt or from -9.0 to -9.9℃ for other regions, the WBII is 1 with 50% compensation; when the FDI is from -8.0 to -8.9℃ for the coastal belt or from -10.0 to -10.9℃ for other regions, the WBII is 2 with 70% compensation; and when the FDI is less than -9.0℃ for the coastal belt or less than -11.0℃ for other regions, the WBII is 3 with 90% compensation. The weather indemnity indices of insured orchards are developed in the interest of owners, thereby eliminating adverse selection and moral hazard issues and providing timely recompense from the insurer, and resolving the problem of high indemnity cost in agricultural insurance. 展开更多

Reflection of stratospheric planetary waves and its impact on tropospheric cold weather over Asia during January 2008 were investigated by applying two dimensional Eliassen-Palm (EP) flux and three-dimensional Plumb wave activity fluxes.The planetary wave propagation can clearly be seen in the longitude-height and latitude-height sections of the Plumb wave activity flux and EP flux,respectively,when the stratospheric basic state is partially reflective.Primarily,a wave packet emanating from Baffin Island/coast of Labrador propagated eastward,equatorward and was reflected over Central Eurasia and parts of China,which in turn triggered the advection of cold wind from the northern part of the boreal forest regions and Siberia to the subtropics.The wide region of Central Eurasia and China experienced extreme cold weather during the second ten days of January 2008,whereas the extraordinary persistence of the event might have occurred due to an anomalous blocking high in the Urals-Siberia region. 展开更多

The Java Island, Indonesia with abundant amount of pyroclastic deposits is located in the very active and dynamic Pacific Ring of Fires. Studying the geochemical weathering indices of these pyroclastic deposits is important to get a clear picture about weathering profiles on deposits resulting from the eruption of Mt. Merapi. Immediately after the first phase of the eruption (March to June 2006), moist and leached pyroclastic deposits were collected. These pyroclastic deposits were found to be composed of volcanic glass, plagioclase feldspar in various propoitions, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, olivine, amphibole and titanomagnetite. The total elemental composition of the bulk samples (including trace elements and heavy metals) was determined by wet chemical methods and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyses. Weathering of the pyroelastic deposits was studied using various weathering indices. The Ruxton ratio, weathering index of Parker, Vought resudual index and chemical index of weathering of moist pyroclastic deposits were lower than those of the leached samples, but the alteration indices (chemical and plagioclase) were slightly higher in the moist compared to the leached pyroelastic deposits. 展开更多

The expansion planning and operation of all three sectors, generation, transmission and distribution, of power system essentially require load forecasting. Weather conditions have significant impacts on forecasted load, especially short-term and mid-term. A momentous portion of the electrical energy is consumed, especially in cold or hot countries, to mitigate the impact of weather on the daily life of human society. Usually, weather dependent component of load is identified by fitting appropriate non-linear curve to the scatter plot of weather-load model. This technique some times shows lower correlation with weather variables. This paper proposes a new methodology to identify the weather sensitive component of electrical load using empirical mode decomposition (EMD) technique. The proposed methodology is applied to the daily peak load of Dhaka zone of Bangladesh Power System (BPS) of the year 2012. A detailed numerical process to evaluate the weather sensitive portion of the load is also presented. The proposed methodology is validated through statistical error evaluation process. 因保温材料及建筑结构参数的差异导致温室内气象条件差异,作物响应小气候差异,以及灾害风险差异等导致保险产品同费率但基差风险不同,针对以上日光温室作物天气指数保险产品设计的难点问题,本文基于天津日光温室黄瓜低温冷害风险,设计... 因保温材料及建筑结构参数的差异导致温室内气象条件差异,作物响应小气候差异,以及灾害风险差异等导致保险产品同费率但基差风险不同,针对以上日光温室作物天气指数保险产品设计的难点问题,本文基于天津日光温室黄瓜低温冷害风险,设计天气指数保险产品。从温室小气候条件与温室外气象条件的关系出发,基于自然灾害风险评估理论,综合考虑温室黄瓜低温冷害强度、灾害损失及温室防灾减灾能力,构建黄瓜低温冷害综合风险评估模型,划分黄瓜低温冷害风险分区;结合不同等级致灾指标及黄瓜减产率计算气象理赔指数,根据低温冷害风险区域系数厘定不同风险区保险纯费率;明确不同理赔指数下单位面积黄瓜低温冷害保费及赔付金额,设计日光温室黄瓜低温冷害天气指数保险产品。结果表明:天津日光温室黄瓜低温冷害高风险区主要位于天津北部地区,包括宝坻大部分区域、蓟州区西南部、武清区及北辰区中部地区、滨海新区汉沽西北部及宁河区东南部。黄瓜低温冷害高、中、低风险区的毛费率分别为8.05%、7.21%和6.27%,结合温室生产实际物化成本,黄瓜低温冷害单位面积赔付金额为45000元·hm^(−2)。以2015年11月天津一次典型低温过程为例分析黄瓜低温冷害天气指数保险的理赔情况,该产品可有效解决天津现行设施农业保险仅保棚体及保温材料等设施而不保作物的问题。 展开更多

利用1990−2020年渭北地区23个区县国家气象观测站气象数据、春玉米产量和生育期资料,选择干旱对春玉米产量有明显影响的特定生育期建立干旱指数与减产率关系模型,在此基础上设计渭北地区春玉米干旱天气指数保险产品并开展定价研究,利用... 利用1990−2020年渭北地区23个区县国家气象观测站气象数据、春玉米产量和生育期资料,选择干旱对春玉米产量有明显影响的特定生育期建立干旱指数与减产率关系模型,在此基础上设计渭北地区春玉米干旱天气指数保险产品并开展定价研究,利用干旱危险性评估结果修正保险费率以降低基差风险。结果表明:(1)渭北地区春玉米需水关键期为出苗−乳熟期,该时期干旱指数(I)与减产率(D)呈显著线性关系D=0.383I−3.959(P<0.05)。(2)渭北地区春玉米出苗−乳熟期降水量由西北向东南递减,干旱危险性由西北向东南递增,东南部干旱危险性高于西北部。(3)基于干旱减产率模型和实际保险条例,以干旱指数40%作为赔付触发值,确定了不同干旱天气指数赔付标准,基于干旱危险性评估结果修正后渭北各区县春玉米干旱天气指数保险费率在6.9%~8.9%,保费为每公顷375~480元。本研究结果可为渭北春玉米天气指数保险产品设计、定价和有效降低基差风险提供科学参考依据。 展开更多

利用时频电磁、剩余磁力和高精度三维地震,结合钻井、测井、试油、分析化验等数据,探讨了准噶尔盆地东部石炭系火山岩储层特征,并通过数值模型分析法对有利储层分布区带进行了预测。研究结果表明:(1)准噶尔盆地东部石炭系发育多条逆冲断... 利用时频电磁、剩余磁力和高精度三维地震,结合钻井、测井、试油、分析化验等数据,探讨了准噶尔盆地东部石炭系火山岩储层特征,并通过数值模型分析法对有利储层分布区带进行了预测。研究结果表明:(1)准噶尔盆地东部石炭系发育多条逆冲断裂,整体呈现凸起-凹陷断裂相接的构造格局,凸起所在位置多发生剥蚀现象,火山岩储层主要分布于吉木萨尔凹陷、吉南凹陷、阜康凹陷和古城凹陷,岩性主要为玄武岩、安山岩、流纹岩与火山碎屑角砾岩。(2)研究区石炭系火山岩油气藏为裂隙式火山喷发机制,优势岩相为爆发相和溢流相,爆发相主要分布在中部地区,溢流相主要分布在东部和北部,且在平面上呈线性或条带状展布,与断裂展布具有较好的匹配关系。(3)研究区火山岩储层的发育受控于风化淋滤作用、岩相组合方式和裂隙发育程度,其中风化淋滤作用占主导,储层距石炭系顶界面越近,物性越好。(4)研究区有利储层主要为近火山口爆发相的火山角砾岩、溢流相的安山岩及玄武岩,主要分布于研究区西部、中部及东南部,其中西部古地貌构造高部位和斜坡带火山岩储层的物性最好。 展开更多

Cretaceous is characterized by high atmospheric CO2 concentration and a resultantly high temperature. Thus, the Earth system, which operated during the greenhouse condition, can be deduced by the investigation of the paleoclimate during the Cretaceous. However, information of paleoclimate from continental inland-basins is scarce compared to that from continental margin marine-basins. In this research, the changes of weathering condition through the whole Cretaceous Period were reconstructed by analyzing the whole-rock chemical composition and clay mineral composition of mudstone samples collected in the Sichuan Basin, SW China. The reconstructed paleoweathering intensity positively correlates with paleotemperature estimate, indicating that Cenomanian-Turonian stages were climatic optimum in the Sichuan Basin as well. Furthermore, the result suggests a Cenomanian-Turonian extremely high amplitude humidity fluctuation. 展开更多
