TC4 micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coatings were prepared by adding SiO_(2) nanoparticles or sodium silicate to the sodium meta-aluminate-based electrolyte.The effect of additives was investigated by XRD,SEM,EDS,electrochemical and wear tests.The results show that additives can considerably accelerate the formation of MAO coatings.The coatings are mostly composed of rutile and anatase TiO_(2),α-Al_(2)O_(3),γ-Al_(2)O_(3),Al_(2)TiO_(5) and SiO_(2).Sodium silicate and SiO_(2) nanoparticles added to the coating can effectively reduce the size of micropores and increase its thickness,whereas SiO_(2) nanoparticles with superior physical properties can be directly deposited at the discharge channel,significantly increasing the coating's resistance to wear and corrosion.The coating with SiO_(2) nanoparticles exhibits the best overall performance,with the lowest corrosion rate and average friction coefficient of 4.095×10^(-5)mm/a and 0.30,respectively. 展开更多

桥梁车载的识别是桥梁健康监测的重要一环,是规划设计和安全评估的重要依据。为了更好地利用神经网络识别桥梁车载,模拟头狼效应的生物学意义,提出了一种头狼效应算法用以优化神经网络参数。数值模拟结果证明,该算法取得了较好的识别效果。

High temperature sliding wear behaviors of ion plating TiN composite coating with ion nitriding interlayer on 3Cr2W8V hot work die steel substrate during 500~700 ℃ were investigated. Phase structure was analyzed by XRD and adhesion strength of TiN coating was measured by scratch test. The worn morphologies and wear mechanism of TiN composite coating were observed and analyzed by using SEM. The results showed that both adhesion strength and hardness of TiN composite coating with ion nitriding interlayer are higher than those of single TiN coating. Ion nitriding interlayer provides a stronger support for TiN coating. With increasing temperature, the wear rates and friction coefficient of all tested coatings increase. The wear resistance of TiN composite coating is better than that of single TiN coating. The wear mechanisms of TiN composite coating are mainly adhesion transfer wear and abrasive wear. The adhesion transfer wear becomes more severe as the test temperature increases. [ 展开更多

A novel approach to damage detection in composite structures using hyperspectral image index analysis algorithm with neural network modeling employing Weight Elimination Algorithm (WEA) is presented and discussed. The matrix band based technique allows the monitoring and analysis of a component’s structure based on correlation between sequentially pulsed thermal images. The technique produces several matrices resulting from frame deviation and pixel redistribution calculations with ability for prediction. The obtained results proved the technique to be capable of identifying damaged components with ability to model various types of damage under different conditions. 展开更多

Wind turbine gearbox bearings fail with the service life is much shorter than the designed life.Gearbox bearings are subjected to rolling contact fatigue(RCF)and they are observed to fail due to axial cracking,surface flaking,and the formation of white etching areas(WEAs).The current study reviewed these three typical failure modes.The underlying dominant mechanisms were discussed with emphasis on the formation mechanism of WEAs.Although numerous studies have been carried out,the formation of WEAs remains unclear.The prevailing mechanism of the rubbing of crack faces that generates WEAs was questioned by the authors.WEAs were compared with adiabatic shear bands(ASBs)generated in the high strain rate deformation in terms of microstructural compositions,grain refinement,and formation mechanism.Results indicate that a number of similarities exist between them.However,substantial evidence is required to verify whether or not WEAs and ASBs are the same matters. 展开更多

Sub-surface crack networks in areas of altered microstructure are a common cause for bearing failures.Due to its appearance under light microscopy,the damage pattern is referred to as White Etching Cracks(WEC).The root causes leading to the formation of WEC are still under debate.Nevertheless,it has already been shown that atomic hydrogen can have an accelerating effect on the formation and propagation of WEC.In addition to hydrogen pre-charging,hydrogen can be released and absorbed during rolling/sliding due to the decomposing of the lubricant and water.The current work focuses on the analysis of the hydrogen content of cylindrical roller thrust bearings after testing in a FE8 type test rig using two different lubricants.Within the framework of this work,two different hydrogen analysis methods were used and assessed regarding their applicability.The results show that the so-called Hydrogen Collecting Analysis(HCA)is more suitable to investigate the correlation between lubricant chemistry and hydrogen content in the test bearings than the Local Hydrogen Analysis(LHA).The measurements with the HCA show a continuously increasing freely movable and diffusible hydrogen content under tribological conditions,which leads to the formation of WEC.Comparative tests with an oil without hydrogen showed that the tendency of the system to fail as a result of WEC can be reduced by using a lubricant without hydride compounds. 展开更多
