We study the process of a laser-supported combustion wave (LSCW) when an aluminum alloy is irradiated by a millisecond pulse laser based on the method of laser shadowgraphy. Under the condition of different laser parameters, the obtained results include the velocity, ignition threshold of LSCW and the variation law. The speed of LSCW increases with the laser energy under the same irradiation laser pulse width, and the speed of LSCW reduces with the increase of the laser pulse width under the same irradiation laser energy. Moreover, the ignition time of LSCW becomes shorter by increasing the laser number of the pulse and is not effected by changing the frequencies, when keeping the laser pulse width and energy unchanged. The results of the study can be applied in the laser propulsion technology and metal surface laser heat treatment, etc. 展开更多

Reflected wave seismology has the following defects:the acquisition design is based on the assumption of layered media, the signal processing suppresses weak signals such as diffracted wave and scattered wave, and the seismic wave band after the image processing is narrow. They limit the full utilization of broadband raw data. The concept of full wave seismic exploration is redefined based on the idea of balanced utilization of reflected wave, diffracted wave and scattered wave information, its characteristics and adaptive conditions are clarified.A set of key technologies suitable for full wave seismic exploration are put forward.During seismic acquisition period,it is necessary to adopt multi geometry,i.e.embed small bin, small offset and small channel interval data in conventional geometry.By discretizing of common midpoint(CMP)gathers, small offset with high coverage, the weak signals such as diffracted wave and scattered wave in the raw seismic data can be enhanced.During seismic processing, the signal and noise in the original seismic data need to be redefined at first. The effective signals of seismic data are enhanced through merging of multi-geometry data.By means of differential application of data with different bin sizes and different arrangement modes, different regimes of seismic waves can be effectively decomposed and imaged separately.During seismic interpretation stage, making the most of the full wave seismic data, and adopting well-seismic calibration on multi-scale and multi-dimension,the seismic attributes in multi-regimes and multi-domains are interpreted to reveal interior information of complex lithology bodies and improve the lateral resolution of non-layered reservoirs. 展开更多

In this paper further mathematical analysis on 'correlation transfer technique' by Polge el al. is carried out, the tenable conditions and the extent of suitability for the said method are proved as well. In consideration of the influence of skewness of the sea surface elevation on spectral shape, a 'quasi-correlation transfer techique' is developed by the modification of the simulated target spectrum. Meanwhile, the numerical simulation of the non-Gaussian process of wind waves is carried out in view of the two conditions of the surface elevation probability distribution and the spectrum. By using its simulated results, the influence of skewness of the sea surface elevation on two parameters in the distribution of wave heights (which had been fitted by using the Weibull distribution) is analysed. The 'quasi- correlation tranfer technique' is verified and compared with the selection wave data observed in the Jiaozhou Bay in the period of 1980 to 1981. Results make clear (hat, as far as the statistical distribution of the wave heights and the distribution of the maximum (minimum) values of the sea surface elevation are concerned, the said method is obviously superior to the conventional mothed of the linear wave superposition, and that the simulated results are closer to the observation data. 展开更多

Insufficient vertical mixing in the upper ocean during summer is a common problem of oceanic circulation and climate models. The turbulence associated with non-breaking waves is widely believed to effectively solve this problem. In many studies,non-breaking surface wave processes are attributed to the effects of Langmuir circulations(LCs).In the present work, the influences of LCs on the upper-ocean thermal structure are examined by using one-and three-dimensional ocean circulation,as well as climate, models. The results indicated that the effect of vertical mixing enhanced by LCs is limited to the upper ocean. The models evaluated, including those considering LC effects alone and the combined effects of LCs and wave breaking, failed to produce a reasonable summertime thermocline, resulting in a large cold bias in the subsurface layer. Therefore, while they can slightly reduce the biases of mixed layer depths and sea surface temperatures in models,LCs are insufficient to solve the problem of insufficient vertical mixing. Moreover, restriction of non-breaking surface wave-induced processes in LCs may be questionable. 展开更多

After landfall near the south coast of Chennai, cyclone Nilam moved north-northwestwards. Coordinated experiments were conducted from the Indian stations of Gadanki(13.5?N, 79.2?E) and Hyderabad(17.4?N, 78.5?E) to study the modification of gravity-wave activity and turbulence by cyclone Nilam, using GPS radiosonde and mesosphere–stratosphere–troposphere radar data. The horizontal velocities underwent large changes during the closest approach of the storm to the experimental sites. Hodograph analysis revealed that inertia gravity waves(IGWs) associated with the cyclone changed their directions from northeast(control time) to northwest following the path of the cyclone. The momentum flux of IGWs and short-period gravity waves(1–8 h) enhanced prior to, and during, the passage of the storm(±0.05 m2s-2and ±0.3 m2s-2, respectively), compared to the flux after its passage. The corresponding body forces underwent similar changes, with values ranging between ±2–4m s-1d-1and ±12–15 m s-1d-1. The turbulence refractivity structure constant(C2n) showed large values below 10 km before the passage of the cyclone when humidity in the region was very high. Turbulence and humidity reduced during the passage of the storm when a turbulent layer at ~17 km became more intense. Turbulence in the lower troposphere and near the tropopause became weak after the passage of the cyclone. 展开更多

However, almost no surface ruptures were observed. Therefore, in order to interpret the phenomenon, we study the rupture process of the earthquake to seek answers. Inversion of teleseismic body-wave data is applied to estimate the rupture process of the 2015 Nepal earthquake. To obtain stable solutions, smoothing and non-negative constraints are introduced. 48 teleseismic stations with good coverage are chosen. Finite fault model is established with length and width of 195 km and 150 km, and we set the initial seismic source parameters referring to CMT solutions. Inversion results indicate that the focal mechanism of this earthquake is a thrust fault type, and the strike, dip and rake angle are in accordance with CMT results. The seismic moment is 0.9195 ×10^(21)Nm(Mw7.9), and source duration is about 70s. The rupture nucleated near the hypocenter and then propagated along the dip direction to the southeast, and the maximum slip amounts to 5.2 m. Uncertainties on the amount of slip retrieved by different inversion methods still exist, the overall characteristics are inconsistent. The lack of shallow slip during the 2015 Gorkha earthquake implies future seismic hazard and this region should be paid more attention to. 展开更多

This paper proposes an asynchronous heterogeneous propagation approach of concurrent competitive waves for hyper-distributed hyper-parallel heuris tic problem-solving. This approach is much more powerful than the synchronous homogeneous mechanisms and the asynchronous superimposition algorithms, and has universal validity and availability. The basic conception, concurrent algorithm and its properties are discussed. The theory and conclusions drawn in this paper are of essential importance for the hardware implementation of hyper-distributed hyper-parallel processing based on chaotic cellular networks. 展开更多
