With the upgrading of tourism consumption patterns,the traditional renovation models of waterfront recreational spaces centered on landscape design can no longer meet the commercial and humanistic demands of modern cu...With the upgrading of tourism consumption patterns,the traditional renovation models of waterfront recreational spaces centered on landscape design can no longer meet the commercial and humanistic demands of modern cultural and tourism development.Based on scene theory as the analytical framework and taking the Xuan en Night Banquet Project in Enshi as a case study,this paper explores the design pathway for transforming waterfront areas in tourism cities from"spatial reconstruction"to"scene construction".The study argues that waterfront space renewal should transcend mere physical renovation.By implementing three core strategies:spatial narrative framework,ecological industry creation,and cultural empowerment,it is possible to construct integrated scenarios that blend cultural value,consumption spaces,and lifestyle elements.This approach ultimately fosters sustained vitality in waterfront areas and promotes the high-quality development of cultural and tourism industry.展开更多

With a history spanning thousands of years,the water system of Suzhou is an indispensable carrier of urban space and civil culture.Quantificational model analysis of the waterfront in the ancient city of Suzhou has si...With a history spanning thousands of years,the water system of Suzhou is an indispensable carrier of urban space and civil culture.Quantificational model analysis of the waterfront in the ancient city of Suzhou has significant implications for the future design of waterfront space and the establishment of an evaluation method to determine the vitality of such space.In this study,a vitality evaluation model was first constructed using river attributes,the spatial type of waterfront areas,vision accessibility,transportation accessibility,and combined new data extracted using spatial factor analysis.Second,a vitality evaluation matrix was established using the analytic hierarchy process to simulate the vitality of waterfront spaces.Third,a hash algorithm was employed to determine the fitting degree between the vitality model of Suzhou’s waterfront space and crowd activity.The different areas between them were found and then the factor evaluation process was adjusted on this basis of analyzing the causes.Thus,this study identified the factors influencing the vitality of Suzhou’s waterfront.Furthermore,this research constructed a model for evaluating the vitality of waterfront spaces.Finally,some guidelines were presented regarding the design and implementation of waterfront spaces in urban design.展开更多

The study aims to explore people's nighttime visual attention in urban waterfront public space during leisure activities,and analyze the impact of artificial lighting on visual attention.The study first utilized m...The study aims to explore people's nighttime visual attention in urban waterfront public space during leisure activities,and analyze the impact of artificial lighting on visual attention.The study first utilized mobile eye-tracker to collect participants'eye-movement data in typical urban waterfront leisure routes,along with corresponding artificial lighting data.Next,based on the collected data,visual attention statistical datasets composed of two dependent variable indicators,visual attention distribution ratio and average attention fixation duration,were constructed.Then,impact analyses of artificial lighting on these indicators were conducted by controlling age groups and environment elements.Results show:1)opposite scenery,greenery,recreation and sport facilities are the most visually attractive elements;2)significant differences in visual attention preferences across three age groups were found on opposite scenery,ground,landscape structures,people,etc.;3)nighttime visual attention induced by 11 types of environment elements is significantly impacted by artificial lighting.The maximum R^(2)of vertical illuminance on visual attention can reach up to 0.603,while 0.472 for horizontal illuminance and 0.247 for correlated color temperature.Additionally,artificial lighting has the greatest impact on the elderly's visual attention.The results help to provide refined human-centered perception insights for improving nighttime environment quality.展开更多
