Developing rural vocational education is of great significance to urban-rural integration:developing rural vocational education is helpful to cultivating new farmers for construction of new socialist countryside,favorable to improving farmers'ability of finding jobs and starting undertaking,and beneficial to transfer of rural surplus labor and acceleration of urbanization.Restrictions on development rural vocational education mainly include:low value cognition of society and social assessment of rural vocational education;out of balance of cost and expected return of rural vocational education;the quality of supply of rural vocational education failure to satisfy demand of socio-economic development;imperfect rural vocational education system.In view of these,following countermeasures and suggestions are put forward:strengthen propaganda and guidance to build environment of public opinion for rural vocational education;push forward rural vocational compulsory education system to lay social foundation for rural vocational education;reinforce policy support to assist in building rural vocational education system;improve education system to build overall framework of rural vocational education;perfect laws and regulations to establish system and norm for development of rural vocational education. 展开更多

Beyond the Resource Perspective on Educational Inequality:The Latent Roles of Cultural and Social Capital

Based on the current status of educational inequality between urban and rural areas in China,this study transcends the traditional resource-centered perspective to examine the latent roles of cultural and social capital in the distribution of educational opportunities.The research finds that institutional arrangements,family cultural accumulation,social networks,and digital literacy collectively constitute the latent structure of urban-rural educational inequality,determining the access to and conversion efficiency of educational opportunities.Cultural capital influences students’educational adaptability through cognitive abilities,learning habits,and the accumulation of educational resources,while social capital expands educational opportunities through information access and social support.Their interaction exacerbates urban-rural disparities.The study further suggests that achieving educational equity requires a multidimensional coordinated strategy encompassing institutional restructuring,cultural empowerment,social capital development,and digital empowerment,providing both theoretical guidance and practical pathways for policy formulation and educational practice. 展开更多

This paper presents some important facts about educational opportunities and students' access worldwide. Specific facts and scenarios are exhibited and provided to compare education opportunities in rich and poor areas in developed and developing countries. Particularly, this paper surveys and compares forces on educational happening in Nigeria and United States. It argues that despite the much acclaimed democratization of access to education, glaring inequalities can be identified in the way educators and how our students are treated. In regards to quantities and quality of educational resources, education is not equally accessed by all students in our today's world. This paper, therefore, recommends that human beings should be given equal access and opportunities to education at all levels; and should be treated with respect and dignity in spite of color, religion, or race wherever they find themselves. This becomes an imperative if mankind is to achieve success in the task of propelling students and Educators to greater achievements. As well, this paper recommends that cultural, institutional, and political powers should be deployed to bring about a more equitable world order. 展开更多

In today’s world,education is less being considered as an outcome,but more as a journey.As the adventurers,our students are facing more and more complex challenges.Previously,the socio-economic status of a student’s family seemed to be one of the biggest factors among inequality causes.Nowadays,the chaotic situation of today's VUCA world(volatility,uncertainty,complexity,and ambiguity)is generating more and more types of inequity and inequality.Thus,the purpose of the study is to develop LERB-a simple model to classify inequity and inequality,as a stepping-stone to build a gap detection framework.Through a structured literature review,the study identified the interconnection between equity and equality,as well as their transition toward students as an individual or as a group(s)and subgroup(s).The study can also be adapted to examine the correlation between different categories of equity,as well as to brainstorm and propose remedies to tackle those gaps. 展开更多

Research on the Relationship between Fiscal Expenditure and Educational Equity

Educational equity is important foundation to achieve social equity and to build a harmonious society,and fiscal expenditure is an important means for the government to allocate resources. However,educational inequity is very common in China at present. Through logical analysis of the relationship between the fiscal expenditure and the educational equity in this paper,it is found that the insufficiency of total fiscal expenditure is the main reason for educational inequity at the present stage; the total fiscal expenditure on education shows positive correlation with the educational equity; the optimization degree of the structure of the fiscal expenditure on education shows positive correlation with the educational equity. Therefore,the government shall expand the scale of the fiscal expenditure on education and optimize the structure of the fiscal expenditure on education. 展开更多

Through the analysis of a student’s learning patterns, strengths, and weaknesses, AI-driven platforms can customize educational content, ensuring that each student receives instruction tailored to their individual needs. This personalization ensures that all students, regardless of their starting point, have an equal opportunity to progress and excel. This paper explores the utilization of AI in facilitating an equitable educational environment by analyzing the opportunities, challenges, and strategies pertinent to AI implementation. Through a comprehensive review of the current literature and case studies, this paper identifies promising avenues for leveraging AI to bridge educational gaps while also highlighting potential pitfalls and barriers to equity. Educational divergence among urban residents and migrant workers: Evidence from China

While the Harris-Todaro model is a traditional approach used in researching the urban-rural dichotomy,it fails to explain families’goals to maximize their current utility in terms of intertemporal decision-making con‐ditions.To fill this gap,in this paper,an urban-rural dichotomy model involving labor migration and educa‐tion is established,in which it is assumed that family utility derives from consumption and children’s educa‐tional achievement.The steady-state path derived through the Bellman equation suggests that increasing edu‐cational investment and family education intensity leads to a significant urban-rural difference in children’s educational achievement.Compared with the traditional Harris-Todaro model,the transversality condition is loosened in this model,while the unavailability of loans constrains migrant families.Four hypotheses are made and tested using an empirical study.An ordinary least squares regression was used in the analysis,but due to the endogeneity caused by missing variables,the instrumental variable method and two-stage least squares regression were used.The results demonstrate that the household registration system can explain 44.5%of the educational achievement difference,and the initial difference is inflated 4.73 times after nine years of compulsory education.This divergence could increase the differences caused by household registra‐tion status,resulting in larger income gaps and intergenerational heredity of identities. 展开更多

优绩主义因其对效率、公平与责任伦理的承诺,成为教育评价的潜在价值基础。然而,优绩主义在学生、教师、学校及用人评价等方面的迷思逐渐显现,影响了评价育人目标的实现。优绩主义固守优和绩的单一标准,使其面临合法性危机,加剧了教育... 优绩主义因其对效率、公平与责任伦理的承诺,成为教育评价的潜在价值基础。然而,优绩主义在学生、教师、学校及用人评价等方面的迷思逐渐显现,影响了评价育人目标的实现。优绩主义固守优和绩的单一标准,使其面临合法性危机,加剧了教育公平的悖论和道德风险,限制了社会创新的活力。为应对这一困境,必须深化四个方面的教育评价改革:重构育人评价机制,建立多维动态的师生评价体系;重塑学校管理评价机制,实施动态管理和第三方监督,推进增值性评价;探索多元化的人才选拔机制,改革考试制度,发展新的录取方式和创新人才遴选机制;改革用人评价机制,注重技能型和创新型人才的选拔。只有以机会均等为前提,结合底线原则解决优绩主义的弊端,并重建教育的公共性品格,才能真正发挥优绩主义在教育评价中的正当作用。 展开更多
