An analytical solution of the guided wave propagation in a multilayered twodimensional decagonal quasicrystal plate with imperfect interfaces is derived.According to the elastodynamic equations of quasicrystals(QCs),t...An analytical solution of the guided wave propagation in a multilayered twodimensional decagonal quasicrystal plate with imperfect interfaces is derived.According to the elastodynamic equations of quasicrystals(QCs),the wave propagating problem in the plate is converted into a linear control system by employing the state-vector approach,from which the general solutions of the extended displacements and stresses can be obtained,These solutions along the thickness direction are utilized to derive the propagator matrix which connects the physical variables on the lower and upper interfaces of each layer.The special spring model,which describes the discontinuity of the physical quantities across the interface,is introduced into the propagator relationship of the multilayered structure.The total propagator matrix can be used to propagate the solutions in each interface and each layer about the multilayered plate.In addition,the traction-free boundary condition on the top and bottom surfaces of the laminate is considered to obtain the dispersion equation of wave propagation,Finally,typical numerical examples are presented to illustrate the marked influences of stacking sequence and interface coeficients on the dispersion curves and displacement mode shapes of the QC laminates.展开更多

Mathematica’s integrated features allow th...With the advent of Computer Algebra System (CAS) such as Mathematica [1], challenging symbolic longhand calcula-tions can effectively be performed free of error and at ease. Mathematica’s integrated features allow the investigator to combine the needed symbolic, numeric and graphic modules all in one interactive environment. This assists the author to focus on interpreting the output rather than exerting the efforts of relating the scattered separate modules. In this note the author, utilizing these three features, explores the magneto-static field and its associated vector potential of a steady looping current. In particular by deploying the numeric features of Mathematica the exact value of the vector potential of the looping current conducive to its 3D graph is presented.展开更多
Due to the large exciton binding energy,two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)provide an ideal platform for studying excitonic states and related photonics and optoelectronics.Polarization states l...Due to the large exciton binding energy,two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)provide an ideal platform for studying excitonic states and related photonics and optoelectronics.Polarization states lead to distinct light-matter interactions which are of great importance for device applications.In this work,we study polarized photoluminescence spectra from intralayer exciton and indirect exciton in WS_(2) and WSe_(2) atomic layers,and interlayer exciton in WS_(2)/WSe_(2) heterostructures by radially and azimuthally polarized cylindrical vector laser beams.We demonstrated the same in-plane and out-of-plane polarization behavior from the intralayer and indirect exciton.Moreover,with these two laser modes,we obtained interlayer exciton in WS_(2)/WSe_(2) heterostructures with stronger out-of-plane polarization,due to the formation of vertical electric dipole moment.展开更多
Vector of diagnostic signs(VDS)using torsional vibration(TV)signal on the main propulsion plant(MPP)is the vector of z maxima(or minima)values of the TV signal in accordance with the cylinder firing orders.The technic...Vector of diagnostic signs(VDS)using torsional vibration(TV)signal on the main propulsion plant(MPP)is the vector of z maxima(or minima)values of the TV signal in accordance with the cylinder firing orders.The technical states of the marine diesel engine(MDE)include R=z+1 classes and are presented in z-dimensional space coordinate of VDS.The presentation of Dk,k=1÷R using z diagnostic signs(Vi,i=1÷z)is nonfigurative and quite complicated.This paper aims to develop a new method for converting VDS from z-dimensional to 2-dimensional space(two-axes)based on the firing orders of the diesel cylinders,as an equivalent geometrical sign of the all diagnostic signs.The proposed model is useful for presenting a technical state Dk in two-dimensional space(x,y)for better visualization.The paper verifies the simulation of the classification illustration of the 7–state classes for the MDE 6S46-MCC,installed on the motor vessel(MV)34000DWT,using the new above mentioned method.The seven technical state classes(for 6-cylinder MDE,z=6)are drawn separately and visually in the Descartes.The received results are valuable to improve smart diagnostic system for analyzing normal/misfire states of cylinders in operation regimes.展开更多
